quiet place, friendly stuff

I had a lovely stay, actually my first hotel in India: so it wasnt anything like they say.... the place is a bit remote from the beach (around 10-15min) but you walk and admire stalls with sooooo many goods, its close to the main road but still remains very quiet, the room had both AC and a fan, a balcony with a garden view and a very comfy bed, it was clean with hot water 24/7; there was also a spacious kitchen which I didnt expect and a fridge which I learnt to appreciate as the weather was hot.the stuff was really friendly, always willing to help and give extra details, little shop on the spot as well as the restaurant, local bus stop nearby so dont miss the chance of hopping on board

if you want to practise some yoga and learn from the original Indian guru, there is a fantastic place called cyril yoga center where u can join the drop-in classes and enjoy some morning or afternoon assanas (the place is just behind the domino's pizza), really fine and inspiring classes

had to clean bathroom & kitchenette before using,only had the tv for 1wk of our stay, it was ok for 2 wks, would not stay here again. we are frequent visitors to goa so know waht to expect!!

Owner seems to be decent guy

We reached late evening, the reception closes at 6pm. I called up the Owner, he immediately sent one of his staff.
Except one staff who was arranging for tourist taxi charges very heavy. Otherwise over all it was fun.

Bad location and dirty rooms with very noisy AC

The hotel is situated along one of the main roads out of Calangute. There was hardly any lights along the quite heavily traficked road, so we finally made use of our torches! The room was not very clean. The matresses were hard, but not unusually hard compared to similar hotels. We were pomised 24 hours hot water, and this was seemingly correct and one of the good things about the hotel.

Lovely apartments, but a bit far from the beach
Apartment was bright, well decorated, nice balcony, and breakfast included and delivered to apartment in the morning!

i really enjoyed how nice, big, and equipped the apartments were. breakfast was served to our apartment in the morning, which was lovely, and the people at the front desk were very helpful in finding needed items, doctor consultation, cabs, etc. it is a bit father from the beach than i expected, and in a crowed calangute new years' time was a bit hectic. i would suggest this for a longer term stay off of the high season, but still was really lovely!

I first booked a week at the Golden nest to see how it was, when the week was over I booked 2 months. The location is great in the centre of Calangute, walking distance to the market, bars and restaurants. The rooms have everything you need, good channels on the tube, wifi, clean bathroom, good size kitchen with fridge and balcony. The staff were available every day and they would reply to any of my requests rite away. If you are looking for a safe, affordable, clean, private hotel then the Golden nest is the best spot in Goa.
