A GOOD HOTEL WITH SOME VERY GOOD STAFFS(MISS SUE)

IT WAS A GOOD STAY.WE LIKED EVERYTHING SPECIALLY THE HOSPITALITY OF MISS SUE WHO ALSO ADVISED US THE RIGHT THINGS TO DO AT SAMUI AND MADE EXCELLENT ARRANGEMENTS FOR OUR TOURS.HOWEVER FEW OF THE STAFFS WERE LACKING IN THE HOSPITALITY AND ARE UNDOING ALL THE GOOD WORK OF SUE.

Boutique hotel with good service
Pool, privacy, and spacious rooms

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. The villas offers plenty of privacy and the swimming pool was just 5 steps from our bed. Breakfast was included with our stay, decent but unremarkable. All in all this hotel is good value for money and we will definitely return given the chance.

Relaxing hotel with nice and big rooms!
Staff and service very good, garden and pool is beautiful and the rooms are fantastic.

Stayed 3 nights att Montra in january 2013! Su and the staff was helpful and very serviceminded! Montra is a relaxing and quiet hotel with luxury rooms. The garden and pool area is really nice. Montra is situated in the forest 5 minutes walk in to Lamai. Bike is a good choice to travel around a you can rent it from the hotel. If you are looking for a relaxing place and like big, nice rooms book Montra!

great hotel, off beat location...

nice hotel, remote location...looking back i would have stayed in chawang beach instead. the hotel did not pick us up from the peir, but that was the only downside.
we did rent a motor bike from a company they work with. the bike was ok until the brake failed us going downhill!! luckily we were fine and no one got hurt. when we returned to the hotel, we explained what happened and that we would like a new bike. the hotel brought over the owner of the shop explaining that the bike mishap was our fault cause we tested it by going downhill.
i was very upset with the remark and the handling of the situation.
the hotel only works with that company for bikes, so please make sure that you do not rent bike from them!!! they have old used up bikes and are not willing to admit it.
we were not refunded.

Secluded, gorgeous and tranquil

This hotel is just beautiful. My partner and I felt as though we were the only 2 people staying here for all 3 nights in our villa. The pool is the best that I have seen in any hotel - it's just stunning and you can swim at all hours of the night and day.
The service is fabulous. However, this hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main Lamai beach area and the free shuttle from the hotel appears to work only 1 way and only between 11 and 5. If you are looking for a beach holiday this is not the place for you as it is situated more in a hilly jungle area.

very tranquil,lovely villas

We stayed 5 nights at the Montra.Upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome.The owner was extremely helpful and full of useful information.The villas are lovely,surrounded by a unusual swimming pool.They are kept very clean and the bed and bedding amongst the best I have experienced anywhere in Thailand.Breakfast was good although we ventured out in the evening so cannot comment on evening meals.To get to the bars and restaurants takes 10 to 15 minutes walking time.We also hired a scooter from the hotel to get around the island - this was not expensive.

The dogs on the way back are a little scarey at first but not dangerous.As lovely and helpful as all the staff are at the hotel,I would advise to make any ferry or flight transfers yourself

Quiet and lovely hotel with friendly staff

Very friendly staff there, the receptionists are all very patients, we asked questions after questions, for about 2 hours, they always answered with a smile.
The location is a bit far from beach, at least 15 mins walk.
The room is big, clean and nice, good choice for couple.
Breakfast is super yummy, makes me love Thai food even more.

A wonderful retreat

My wife and I stayed here for a week in August. It was without doubt one of the finest places we have ever stayed. Nestled a little further back from the beach, it offers privacy and relaxation. The grounds of the hotel are simply exquisite, including a lush and beautiful garden, and an amazing pool, even featuring a small walking bridge over the top!
The villas themselves are beautiful, including lovely furnishings, and a stone bath well and truly big enough for two.
For the most part, the food was outstanding. The lack of any additional charges for room service was an added perk. My wife and I also tried the cooking class offered by the hotel and we had a great time.
The staff of the hotel are simply delightful. They were always happy to provide information and other services, including free trips into town during the day. They also arranged cheap vehicle hire for us (900 Baht/day, including insurance) - I highly recommend getting a jeep to explore the island, just be careful because Thai motorists are mostly insane. I also recommend using Montra's airport transportation (500 Baht) rather than getting a taxi (700 Baht).
Keep in mind that the hotel is a little further from the shore than many of the resorts, but it is a perfectly walkable distance. If you're looking for a laid back holiday to just indulge yourself, I can't imagine a better place to stay.

Nice, little place....not as quit as i thought it would be....there are roads among .
The rooms is big, à living area and à sleeping area.
The bed is not soft.
Very clean!
