Well located by Kadewe and shopping street

The hotel is perfectly located near the Ku'damme and main shopping areas, including Kadewe - so from a location perspective, it can't be beat. Staff are very friendly as well. The hotel is clean and modern - apparently recently refurbished. The matresses are light foam - (not real matresses) - so i found this a bit uncomfortable if you are looking for a good night sleep (dream bed it is not). Also the bathroom was quite small, with no real space to put your toiletries. They also do not provide a kettle or coffee/tea facilities. Also, for English speakers - there are no English options on TV (apart from news). For the price, the Alsterhof was fine, but there are a lot of other great charming and design hotels in the area that are similarly priced and maybe a bit more value or fun to stay at.

Good Location , nice staff , good rooms..

Actually I was there for 3 nights and besides small thing I m happy to stay here.. To walk to Berlin shopping area is few minutes.. Thats good.. Rooms are clean ..
But The mattress the are using is really cheapest sponge ones which doesn't give relax sleeping.
Breakfast was quite well. many choices but all 3 days was almost same choices..
first day I receive 24 hr free internet code from reception , second and 3rd days they told it s full house.. thats why they cant provide 24 hrs wifi pass. only for 1 hour.. if you need more come and take another from reception .. Actually this is ridiculous .

Good Location
Good location, Near Subway Station, Clean Room and Bathroom

The hotel location is near shopping and a subway station, so you can easy fast go everywere you like with in Berlin.
The room is qiut small but its good value for the money.
Bad thing is the hotel crew, that dont give you any information of the fasillity or breakfasttime or things to do in Berlin.
There is no information folder in the room.
The WiFi is weak and slow in the room.

the stay is satisfy but unfortunately that the hotel is work on thier renovation which is not so convinence.

My last stay at this hotel.
Nice breakfast buffet. The Internet did work in my room.

This was my 3rd and last stay at this hotel. I already had problems with the staff during my last stay, but decided to give them another chance. Front-desk manager refused check-in at 1.50 pm, saying check in is at 3.00 pm. I had to call the reservation-manager, to get checked in, after an overseas flight. Even the manager didn't seem overly interested in my complaint.
Two days later I tried to check out at 10.00 pm, because I had to leave for the airport at 4.30 am. They refused that too, so I had to get up earlier.
The hotel itself isn't bad, but they have some of the worst staff I've ever experienced at any hotel in the world, and I travel a lot. That's it for me. There are a lot of good and affordable hotels in that area.

Alsterhof Berlin, my 2nd stay
Close to Kurfuerstendam, walking distance to KaDeWe department store. Large rooms, great breakfast. Clean.

The Alsterhof is a solid choice for Berlin travelers. Most rooms are larger than average, are very clean, and the hotel's overall appearance is pleasant. They offer an outstanding breakfast buffet. Like in most German hotels, Internet access/Wifi is an issue, and is offered at a hefty surcharge, so is parking. A nice and decently equipped and very clean gym is on the top floor, but the sauna and the steam bath are not in operation at all times of the day.

The hotel did not live up to its reputation as a new guest is not made comfortable from the moment of arrival; rather the staff holds back until one begins interrogation for services etc. In effect, the 'concierge' service is left to a man standing in the lobby who is only there part-time. The hotel may be fine for frequent business travelers but leaves the new guest in a quandary.
