Beirut hotels & places to stay

The staff was good and helpful, but mostly spoke broken English and full Arabic - so as a tourist it was difficult to design tours or travel places, or use a map to walk other than take taxis everywhere. I did hook up with drivers but they always tried to get more or take advantage of you for "longer time, expensive gas, etc." The hotel was OK and small but serviceable, and the maid service was great with extra toiletries and hot water. But the power, internet and TV kept going out about once per hour and was so frustrating. I was really scared to get into the elevator since when the power went out the elevators got stuck. Ugh. This was an OK place to stay but it was expensive for the power issues and lack of pool or anything else to use at the hotel, so I kept traveling to other areas and used the pool at other locations. I will not stay here again and will pay more to stay at a more branded hotel closer to the beach and corniche area. Oh well - they tried but Beirut is expensive and there are few tourists there now.

I made an online reservation and included upon payment that I need a room on a high floor and wanted a late check-out 3-4 PM What happened is that they gave me a room on the 2nd floor where the noise was unbearable, and the worst part is on my last day, the front desk lady stopped in the morning saying I have to leave at 1 PM max unless I want to extend my stay, later on on 1 PM sharp she called my room asking me to leave immediately or she will send the janitor to take my bags out. I went down, asked for the manager the lady said with an attitude I am the manager I said ok send me someone higher than you, a man came and I told him I will report the facility for such low unprofessional treatment that ruined my whole trip. He replied ok report whatever you want with a tone as it will change nothing Then I left

the location is pretty good but the rooms need updating especially carpeting. they had just painted my room recently and the paint fumes were fairly overwhelming but they were painting everywhere so the paint smell was everywhere. the breakfast buffet was nice but not a traditional western style breakfast. nonetheless the olives and cheese varieties were very good. get to breakfast about 8am or it wont be fully set up and your choices are limited before then. the staff is helpful and all speak and understand good english. the internet is very slow and not free so its better to seek wifi outside at starbucks or other coffee houses of course they aren't free either.

My friend and I stayed at Caramel before I left Lebanon and I loved everything about the hotel! I can’t rave enough about the decor and layout of the room. Super smart and sleek. The room was impeccably clean. Rooms were still being constructed when I stayed and there is a bit of noise from the bars on the street below but those didn’t bother me. The ice cream in the bar is AMAZING. The staff were super helpful. Loved it and highly recommend it!

The staff was a class of their own. They booked taxi, rented car, maintained free valet service and they cared for their customer's stay. Ms Nesrin, from the manager staff, got all customers get a good mood with her smile and her personal engagement. Best and most friendly hotel service I have experienced. The breakfast was really nice, Lebanese and continental with fresh bread, juices, sweets, fruits and eggs and omelets. The interior was classy royal with nice beds. The wifi signal was strong (maybe they had at least two routers in every floor) and the internet downstream was about 500Kbps. The location very good. Near to shopping, bakeries, ATM:s and a walking distance to the administrative centre. Cabs are cheap too, but often you have to bargain.

I stayed here twice during my 2 weeks travelling around Lebanon this October. This is a very nice little hotel, right in the heart of the Hamra district. Decent hotels in Beirut aren't cheap, but this was good value. I had an excellent room on 8th floor, very spacious and clean, great bathroom and the bed was superb. Staff were very friendly, and one night I ordered some room service food which was surprisingly good. The hotel also has its own parking which is very convenient if you're crazy like me and drive in the city. Location is great, It's a noisy part of town, so would recommend a room as high as you can get, but location does mean there are plenty of good restaurants and bars close by....right in the middle of Hamra, you're spoiled for choice. Excellent hotel and definitely recommended.

I stayed there for first time for three nights during a business trip. This is a typical business hotel, it was perfect location and close to cafe and kornesh The hotel is fresh with very modern and easy-going decoration. Breakfast is good, and friendly staff. i have been given an upgrade to suite with sea view. also the hotel did not charge on changing the date of the arrival and that make me to consider to book agine in the same hotel next time I visit Beirut. The only issue is the hotel charge on the internet in room. and its free in the lobby. i suggest to be free even in the room to get 10 mark.

The Regis Hotel was great for my first trip to Lebanon. The friendly, attentive staff could not have been nicer and made me feel right at home. In fact, the Regis was more like a guest house with a family atmosphere than just a hotel. I loved my stay so much I came back to the Regis again for several more days after visiting other parts of Lebanon. The Corniche is only a block from the hotel and I could look out at the Mediterranean Sea from my window. The lively shopping district of Hamra is just 15 minutes in one direction, and the Beirut Souks and other Downtown attractions are a few minutes walk the other way. So the location is central. I walked for miles along the beautiful waterfront, where there are a variety of places to eat. The hotel staff was especially helpful in finding transport for me to visit various areas of Lebanon, especially the lovely Qadisha Valley in the North. The manager even lent me his cell phone to make a call. And the staff were always giving me tea or coffee whenever I went to the lobby - all gratis. I am so grateful to the Regis Hotel for making my two weeks in Lebanon one of the best times in my life. When I go back - soon I hope - I would certainly stay at the Regis again!

The best thing about this apartment is it's location, 2 min away from El hamra street and 10 min from seafront. Staff is very helpful and welcoming, especially Khalil. The furniture is a bit old and kitchen material very limited. However, it wasn't much of a problem for us since we only slept there. Internet was spotty in the beginning, but the staff managed to arrange it to facilitate our stay. Overall, recommend.

Well it was the first time i went to Beirut. A friend advised me to stay in Hamra area as it is the lively "old" town part with lots of shops, bars and good atmosphere. So the location is perfect, just behind the main street. I had no streetnoise, which is getting a rare thing in city centre hotels nowadays. I got upgraded to a suite/apartment room which was nice. The room was big (2 toilets, 2TV, bed, living room and balcony), clean and modern. Not really a great view for outside, none required. Housekeeping did a great job, morning or late afternoon was no problem. No unnecessary disturbance. Reception was friendly and fast. Some brochures with places to visit nicely installed. No decent wifi in hotel without paying extra. Free lobby wifi a bit slow. Taxi to airport was nice on time. So was wake up call. In its class value for money. Improvements possible: free wifi, oncall massage as it has no pool or spa to relax a bit.

I had to organize a last-minute overnight stay in Beirut and came across this hotel in my (very rushed) internet search. I was greeted upon arrival with a cup of tea while I was checking-in. Just a small gesture, but it was a was very appreciated after all the rushing and chaos of the day. Room service was fast and food portions were very generous. It was better than fancy... it was homely... :-) The staff were really friendly at the hotel, responding quickly to all requests and eager to help. I was even very graciously granted a late checkout by management to accommodate my schedule for the day (had a very important and long appointment and was not able to get back to the hotel until after 3 pm). The only thing about the hotel is that it is a little difficult to locate, but if you tell the taxi driver it is around the corner from the Commodore hotel it should work... I had a great stay... thanks to Mohammad and Bilal and the team! Definitely recommend this hotel!

- My stay was very pleasant at Saifi Suites. The rooms are designed in a very modern way and very clean. The location is Superb and close to beautiful Down Town Beirut. - If you are a Breakfast person and plan to stay for more than two days then you would be disappointed as the breakfast is very minimal and the same every day. The Front Desk staff are helpful but will never greet you unless you be the one to greet first.

I though the extra of this hotel is complimentary airport shuttle. But it is not stop right there. The staff away more professional well trained and friendly towards it guest. Im gonna say this hotel comfortness and room environment may same as Novotel. The room service and on site restaurant not bad at all. It offer varieties of food that came with good price. I would recommended this hotel to business traveler or family. Nonetheless, it is good also for every type of traveller. They sure know how to taking care of you.

This was a perfect hotel in the heart of all that is happening in Beirut. It is walking distance to Beirut University and other tourist attractions. There are food outlets right at your door step plus a sunset bar and a little cafe for morning coffee and some breakfast. This is independent to the hotel. For a solo female traveller in Beirut it was a great place to base myself.

Checkin with a warm welcome & a smiling face from Mr. Samir. He made sure we have quick checkin and also asked us to get back to him anytime we need to have any queries on going around Beirut or other information. The room was beautiful as you will expect from Radisson Blu standard. Had great selection of breakfast compared to other hotels of same standard in stayed in Beirut. The restaurant Manager Mr. Nabil did great job by taking care of the everyone himself and making sure of the details if everyone is served well. Overall had a great stay.
