Where to stay in Austin (TX)
Austin (TX) hotels & accommodations
My wife and I don't get to stay in hotels often and were looking forward to staying in a nice hotel in the middle of downtown Austin. The staff was very nice and helpful but the room was definitely in need of an update. The tv was small and the carpet was stained. There was no cover on the duvet, just another sheet. We were only there one night and we didnt even sp...
I booked a two nights at this hotel. I arrived very early 1:30am. The front desk didn't allow me to check in bec it should be 3am. I am very tired and sleepy at that time but I agreed to wait at the lobby with my luggage. After 20mins, the front desk came to me and said that i can't stay at the lobby and will have to leave and wait somewhere. I was like? Sir it's late ...
Girls trip at a beautiful hotel at Austin was the idea but only problem was the hotel. The hotel is beautiful but if you book 3rd party beware! Out of 4 reservations only 1 ran smooth. 2 reservations cancelled and 1 check in the room was dirty. The cancelled reservations ended with 1 double and 1 king, when reservation was for 2 doubles. At the bar lounge to lazy to pr...
We found everything about this Hyatt Regency Austin to our liking. It was upscale yet the staff was personable and connected with us throughout our stay. We were there on Christmas Eve and for the next few days including an extension of one day. We got sound advice on where to go and what not to miss. When the skies opened up in Austin on the 26DEC an umbrella was ...
Decent location. Next to highway and not much else but a 20 minute walk brings you to the North Loop neighborhood that has a lot of cool stuff. Staff was awesome. Accidentally booked a room with 1 bed for me and my friend. The gentleman at the front desk hooked us up with 2 beds no extra charge. No hassles in the castle.
Loved the Hilton, Austin. I stayed in an Executive Suite on the second top floor. The room was great, clean, spacious and well presented. The location of the hotel was excellent, positioned on East 4th Street, the main street through town, with an abundance of great bars, cafe's and restaurants. Plenty of shopping also. everything is right there when you leave the hote...
We just got back from a weekend girls trip to Austin and stayed at the Line. Our rooms overlooked the river and was clean upon arrival. The only complaint I have is the walls were a little thin. We had neighbors up late talking until after 2am. It was in a great location. Right next to the Bat Bridge and the faregrounds (food court) was across the street. Would defini...
incredible customer service all around with everything you need onsite. Very comfortable rooms and walking distance to everything you need or want in Austin. Thank you to all of those on their staff and team that worked so hard to bring such a tranquil and historical stay for me while performing...
Quality of food-satisfactory, Quality of staff-2.5 to 5 stars. Not friendly, not polished, could have helped me with a problem with a booking error and not until I confirmed that I would follow through on my part did the desk attendant complete the task of refunding a nights' stay. He could have done it up front, and explained to me how he was helping me. I would hav...
My kids really enjoyed the pool. With a two year old the shallow swimming area was perfect for him and my 10 year old had a blast on the deeper side. The hot breakfast buffet had so many options, there was a good variety of food. Having the Opal Devine Restaurant right next to the lobby was so convenient and the food is delicious. Staff was very friendly. Next time my ...
The hotel was in a great location for where I needed to be. The price was higher for the same kinda room just down the street. The only thing that was not good for me was the mattress . The mattress was really worn and I started out on the side and ended up in the middle. The hotel personnel were great.
Double-Tree actually owns three hotels in Austin, two are located very close to the center but were booked out due to the large music festival; the hotel I was staying in was located at the highway and one need a shuttle or taxi to travel to the center; rooms are large and clean, in the courtyard there is an outdoor swimming pool; service is good. All in all a hotel I ...
Pros: location near to PRSA 2018 conference venue. Toiletries were topped up and towels were changed daily. Cons: Room was not well cleaned daily. Found a strand of hair on the bed blanket upon check in. 7-10 Oct - Corridor has a wierd stale unpleasant smell emitted from the aircondition perhaps.
Very nice hotel, clean and great breakfast.Shuttle bus to town or airport.Only about four miles from downtown Austin.Very pleased and would stay again.Paul the shuttle bus driver was very friendly and informative. He really went out of his way to help us.
For downtown Austin, this all-suite hotel provided great value. Our suite was massive with views over the Capitol building. The location is good and cheap local buses pass right by the hotel so easy to access everything you'd want to visit around Austin. Easy to recommend this place.
The room was big and clean with huge bathroom. However, the AC unit was so loud that it kept me up at night. Also, not sure if it’s because my room was next to the ice room, there seems to be a bunch of water pipes embedded in the walls. Every half hour or so, there would be a loud rush of water which sounded like heavy rain hitting window glass. Good hot breakfast wi...
This property, DoubleTree by Hilton Austin University Area charges guests too much money for an overnight stay considering the remodeling going on inside the hotel, the ice machine on my floor being broken, the lack of basic services (such as no one to assist with luggage), heavily used furniture with visible damage in my room and the restaurant being closed whenever ...
Cheap places to stay in Austin (TX)
I stayed in this hotel for a night with 3 other travel members. We were a bit short on beddings since it was still cold, so I had to go ask the front desk for some extra bedding in the middle of the night, like around 12. Still the staff was helpful enough to get me some (but not suffient) without any attitude. I had a great stay overall.
Both the night and day desk staff, plus shuttle drivers were helpful beyond the call of duty. I was in Austin from Feb. 6th to 8th--after visiting relatives in Louisiana, having been in China--to have a State of Texas Unclaimed Property check cashed, then to fly back to China the next morning. One example is: upon arriving and checking in, a problem came up concerni...
Noisy people outside room all night, car doors slamming, cars parking right in front of door leaving lights on and engine running, did not seem to be hotel guests. Something going on. Reported to front desk. Sympathetic but no compensation offered for sleepless night.

My shower was not working correctly. I told the front desk about it, so they could fix the issue . I couldn’t even take a shower. Had to take one in a different room. I was not even offered a upgrade or a transfer to a different room. A whole day later, my shower was still not working. The front desk did not even have the professionalism to tell me it was still broken....
Good value for the facilities and the location. Morning attendants were very good. Evening attendant was a bit distracted, less than hospitable. Breakfast buffet was an unexpected bonus though didn’t partake. My impression was that it wasn’t fully stocked. Overall, I was pleased.
Pros: Large clean room with couches and coffee table Mini fridge microwave and sink Free WiFi Free breakfast Cons: Pool was small and crowded "Fitness center" was a joke as it was only a treadmill and elliptical inside a closet full of mirrors and Overall it's a good place to stay and I recommend it
If you’re just stopping in Austin a few days and aren’t going to be in your room for any other reason than to sleep, then this is your place. Breakfast every morning and a clean and tidy room with clean and soft bedding and towels. Has a fridge AND a microwave too!
This hotel definitely great choice and back again in future Austin visit. Perfect location, easy check in, safe and quiet environment, clean sheet and towel, and entire suite is A+ clean. clean and comfort bed is more important than anything. I slept well
The bathroom had a used soap still in the shower that we had to deal with and made the group feel like the place wasn't cleaned super thoroughly, but otherwise the room was large and the front desk staff was INCREDIBLY helpful and friendly (the two younger staff working the afternoon of Saturday, March 30th that checked us in). Definitely would recommend being a quick ...
The hotel is not at all like the photos. It is completely disgusting! The room I requested was a non smoking, they clearly didnt enforce that. I could hardly breath due to the amount of cigarette smoke. The bedding had burn holes, cigarette ashes were all over the nightstand. The pillow cases had dried blood & god only knows on them. The towels provided in the b...
The hotel is in a sketchy area and there are many interesting characters hanging out in the parking lot and around the hotel. Inside smells like sweat and weed. Thin walls, broken appliances, and most likely mold in the bathrooms- I am asthmatic and had to wake up 2-3 times a night to use my inhaler. There was one friendly gentleman who helped us at the front desk but ...
Usually I do not write reviews, however, this hotel was awful! I was traveling with my wife and photography assistant. We were on business to shoot a Wedding in Austin. I specifically put down my friend would be checking in before I arrived. This is what happened: 1) My friend (photography assistant) arrived at 4pm to check in on Saturday, just as I had booked. The w...
The staff needs to improve their organization skills and customer service. We checked in passed midnight due to an unforeseen event. Our wallets and ID s were stolen at a state park. To check in we gave 40 in cash because that s all the cash we had on us, the night attendant told us we did not need a receipt for it. The following morning when we checked out it was a b...
Probably one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, in terms of facilities, breakfast, cleanliness, and staff. Couldn’t fault any of them, the staff were beyond helpful & friendly to me, which isn’t always a given in the USA. Feels like everything has been thought of in the rooms/bathroom, and it’s spotlessly clean. However, the location isn’t great. It’s great in ter...

You can’t beat the hotel’s proximity to the State Capitol, downtown shopping, 6th Street restaurants and night life, bike-jogging-walking path along the water. Hotel staff is extra friendly and helpful. Room was spotless. The traditional room, queen bed, (which was so extra comfy I asked what type of pillows & mattress!) is a bit smaller than a lot of the newer hotel r...
Fantastic location. We took advantage of the terrific perks of the free happy hour in the lobby and free use of loaner bikes. Breakfast was delicious and healthy (and included though my Agoda.com reservation!) We were a group of 2 moms + 3 daughters in their twenties. Had a super fun time with this hotel as our home base.
The hotel (and Agoda) failed to adequately warn me that key amenities would be unavailable - namely - the outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is in disrepair - worn carpets, scratched paint on walls, old furnishings in rooms and common areas. The spa is something on par with what I’d expect at a 3-Star facility, lacking sauna, an adequate jacuzzi, or even a relaxation roo...
