First time to stay at a backpacker hotel, and after staying here, won't ever consider staying at any of the base hotels. There are far more better backpacker hotels than this one in the city

Location is central and atmosphere is good.

Base Auckland is centrally location, just a few steps down from the bus stop where the airport bus will drop us off. It is a street away from the skytower and many food options are available along the whole of queen street, where Base Auckland is located. Security is good as well as one will need the key card to activate the elevator to reach the levels where rooms are located. Toilets are clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Really nothing unpleasant came up during the stay, great job and hope they keep up the good work!

Try the kebab shop right along queen street and nearest to base auckland. Fabulous fried chicken and kebab! Follow your nose!

Located in the heart of down town. Staff are friendly and helpfull. Walking distance to Sky City and easy assess too.

Unfortunately our flight was changed prior to this reservation so we couldn't stay. However the reception staff was very helpful and friendly when I called upon first enquiring about the amenities.

Great location and good sized dorm room

We ended up having to buy the sixth bed in our dorm because we had a 13 year old with us and didn't realise you had to be over 18. This was worth it though as we had the whole dorm to ourselves and didn't have to worry about security at all. We had a comfortable stay at a reasonable price and it was very close to the event we came to Auckland for. It was great for our family, but if just my husband and I were on a weekend away we would go for something of better quality!

The location at queen street is ideal for first time traveler because it provides easy access to all that you need to start your stay in auckland. The staff are amazing, helpful and best of all cheerful! Eventhough the room is quite small, but the idea is not to stay in the room but to explore and chill at the common area and make friends!

this place is located at center of the city, so i could go shopping or sightseeing pretty easily. most of staff there were quite a lot friendly except one person. If she's not around, it would be all good. a reception is open 24/7 so its very convenient if u leave early in the morning or get there late at night. you'll use a room key for a room and an elevator as well so security is good.
ここは市内中心部に位置しているので買い物、観光がとても簡単にできました。一人を除くほとんどのスタッフの方はとても親切でした。もし彼女がいなかったらすべて問題なしでした。受付は２４時間開いているのでもし早朝に出発したり、深夜に到着する場合とても便利だとおもいます。部屋の鍵としてもカードでエレベーターを作動させるのでセキュリティの面でも大丈夫だと思います。

this was a great hostel. it was in a great location and i had a great view from my window. the only downside was the timed showers and the slow and small lifts. it had a friendly atmosphere and i would stay here again.
