Adventure in Paradise”

I booked a flight to Thailand as a birthday present for myself. A Thai friend had a female friend that likes to travel, and I made arrangements with her to spend a week, most of which was in Hua Hin. My friend suggested three hotels in Hua Hin (smart on his part as I can not blame him if the hotel is not as good as I think it should be) and I selected the Anantara. I am very happy that I did. The staff greeting with moist towel fresheners and snakes was a perfect way to start the week. We had an ocean front room (#106) and the view and yet privacy was amazing. The room was nicely sized and the shower/tub perfect. Flower petals adorned the king sized bed with "Happy Birthday" and this was a great mood setting nice touch. I had not told them that this trip was a birthday present and I did not inquire who or what had informed them. We tried to eat in all of the restaurants. Two were our favorites. One was on the main level where the entertainment is featured and the other was the waterfront tables. We recommend the "Aussie Steak". It was tender and tasteful and just what I expect from a steak house back home in California, USA. There is not much to do in Hua Hin and our week long visit was a little long for us. But, for a spot to just relax, this is top notch.

So impressed with hotel "CAN DO" policy”

I spent 2 nights at Anantara because of incredibly room rate from Agoda. I had been in this hotel many years ago when this hotel was new & only 1-2 five-star hotels in Hua Hin. As there are many new hotels coming up, I switched to those. Coming back this time, I'm very impressed by room renovation which overcome major problems incl. new bathroom design & extended balcony. However, the best is hotel staff, everybody is full with service-minded from security guards up to front office staff. I learnt that all of them are trained for "can do" service policy, and it works very well, They really do it with their hearts, you can feel it. I strongly recommend staying in Anantara Hua Hin to experience this "can do" policy, espcially tourists or foreignors who look for traditional Thai way of service & hospitality. Trust you will be happpy in this hotel memorable service.

Little Paradise”

We stayed in the new Anantara hotel in Leshan in China and were so impressed that we chose the chain again for our holiday to Hua Hin. Even though, the hotel is a bit out of town which was disappointing to begin with, it made up for it in so many ways. We took advantage of the minibus service into Hua Hin (which runs every hour) and, on the days we wanted to be a bit more flexible, the taxi fare was pretty reasonable. The young man who looked after our room was incredibly helpful and really looked after us - we really like the hand-written leaves left on the bed wishing us a good night's sleep, etc. The food and cocktails were reasonably priced and the quality was good. We especially enjoyed our Italian meal and the extensive selection of food for breakfast. There were so many places to relax that it was easy to forget how many people were actually staying at the hotel. The massage I had was wonderful too! A very well run hotel that is hard to leave.

Fabulous”

Anantara is the best resort I ever stayed at. The staff is always friendly, very helpful and indeed competent and good English-speakers. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. The pool and the pool area and restaurants are wonderful. Anantara is a haven of peace and luxury, located 6 km north of Hua Hin. So you'll need to take a taxi when you want to go to the center of Hua Hin, but you will have peace and quiet when being at the resort. Only minus: The beach. At this place on the coast, the resorts are build so far out to the coast, that it's impossible to take a long walk along the beach. You wouldn't send small children to this beach, but grown-ups can take a swim in the sea and relax at Avantara's sunbeds listening to the waves.

Our favourite time in Thailand”

My partner and I spent 2 weeks in various parts of Thailand and Anantara, Hua Hin was by far our favourite. The hotel was beautiful and perfect for our 5 nights in Hua Hin. We used the shuttle bus most days - tip - don't book a bus back, you'll like Hua Hin town that much that you won't want to be restrained by coming back to the hotel at a set time - get a tuk tuk or taxi instead for approximately 200 baht. Loved the breakfasts - such a range. Also loved the fact that the resort has it's own exotic bird, Alex. We'll definitely be coming here again.

Anantara November 2015 ”

We had a most pleasant 8 night stay in Anantara. Our room was a standard room with a garden view. An upgrade was offered for us upon arrival, but after checking the room we decided to keep as was booked. Room was very convinient. The hotel has been recently under renovation, our room was like brand new. Our room was very spacious, facing to garden an the swimming pool. There were all amenities as one could expect in a five star hotel. This hotel is very distinctive by at least with three things we should mention: First, friendliness of the staff, second is the way this resort has been built with magnificent tropical garden and adjacent shoreline. Thirdly the facilities include an award winning spa complementing the theme. Breakfast was very generous with very wide range of choices, including thai, chinese, full english/american style. Anantara is located 5 km north of Hua Hin center. There a Shuttle bus connecting every hour between morning and 11 pm return. We do not recommend walking to the town, since the traffic is different to what we have used to.

Great experience ”

We had a great experience staying at Anantara Hua Hin. We had booked in for 3 nights before heading to Bangkok for another 2 nights. While the location is very near the airport for us coming with AirAsia, it was a little far from town. However, a paid shuttle into town could be taken. We enjoyed our stay thanks to the very friendly and helpful staff. To mention a few specifically, Alex, who brought us to our room and gave us a tour of the facilities; Dawan, who brought me to the RCC bus station during her lunch hour to buy bus tickets; and Vito who was very helpful on checkout. This made a difference to our stay, and is a stark contrast to our current hotel, the Anantara Sathorn. Having stayed at two different Anantara properties, there is a world of difference in terms of quality of staff and facilities (p.s. never stay at Anantara Sathorn) which the management needs to look into. In addition, we loved the great breakfast spread, as the Surf and Turf BBQ. The food was excellent!

excellent resort”

We have seen three different resorts in Hua Hin. 1. Anantara 2. Hilton 3. Wora Boru Anantara is absolutely the best. Also the price is the best. The room is beautiful decorated and the garden is fanatastic. Also service is great. The reception area, the pool area and the beach are really nice too. It is only a little bit out of Hua Hin. So if you come to relax and do not need to be in the town this is perfect. If you have a car it is five minutes drive to the town.

Anantara Hua Hin: Serenity with Good Service”

We originally booked a premier deluxe room with a double bed, but when we arrived the hotel informed us that they only had rooms with twin beds available for the weekend. After we complained that 2 twin beds combined together is not as comfortable as a double bed, and that we would much rather prefer to enjoy our stay at Anantara without having to feel bad about the room, the manager was understanding and upgraded us to a lagoon room. Although all the rooms at the resort were clean and nice, only rooms at Lagoon or above seemed spacious enough. This is probably because the beds are so big, that smaller rooms such as premier seemed to be too small for it! Overall, we really enjoyed staying at the Anantara Hua Hin.

Vito made our stay a truly memorable one ”

Anantara Hua Hin is the first Anantara there is, with almost two decades of operations. While many other resorts have opened in due course - this property has matured. The lush greenery surrounding the resort is a time honoured dividend. True, that with many aging destinations, there are bound to be areas of improvement. But one feature stood out that made it all worthwhile. We were really taken care of by Vito Chen, their Guest Services Supervisor. From the minute we arrived at reception, he ensured our needs were taken care of, even for the smallest of things. From mosquito bites to small goodies - he got us covered. We have done a fair bit of travel in our time and must say that Vito is by far the best we have had the pleasure of being guests of. Many thanks Vito! To management- Give this guy a raise! :D

A beautiful resort in an ugly city ”

The Anantara hotel is beautiful, with an amazing pool, and great professional friendly staff.... The restaurants are a little bit overpriced but all of them are excellent. We were just very disappointed by Hua Hin itself, it's a dirty city, ugly, there is nothing to do there, and the sea is not bleu but dark grey with a lot of noisy waves.....so you will definitely choose to swim in the pool rather than the sea....so if you really have to go to Hua Hin for some reasons, then yes, choose the Anantara, otherwise there are so much better places to go everywhere in Thailand.

i've been to anantara many times and have never been disappointed. it's a beautiful resort from the entrance, lobby, gardens, pool,room, to the beach. the staff is perfectly trained in the classic thai hospitality. the breakfast buffet is excellent in every detail...no luke warm coffee from sitting pots....just ask for espresso, latte, capiccino and a fresh cup is delivered to the table. the rooms are always fresh and clean with rich wood floors and comfortable large balconies or patios. this is a real thai resort, not a international chain hotel located in hua hin. i will always return to anantara and they often offer great promotional rates.

One of the best hotels to stay in Hua Hin!”

Had a great stay again at the Anantara Hua Hin Spa & Resort. The staff is excellent and service minded. The F&B outlets offer gourmet quality food, the rooms are comfortable and offer amongst other things a selection of pillows you can pick. The resort has a beautiful garden and is located near the beach. The Spa is expensive compared to Thai prices but worth it. It is not only a treatment, it is an experience! The breakfast buffet is great!!! Check in, check out is superb! In general: "no, not possible" is not in the vocabulary of the staff...

A charming resort!”

We stayed at Anantara Hua Hin from Dec 3rd to 5th 2011. The resort is easy to find as it is right on the main road connecting Bangkok to Hua Hin. The moment we entered the resort we were enchanted by the lush vegetation and terracotta colored decorative structures all around.The resort is built mostly in Thai architecture and oozes charm no matter which part of the resort you are in. The check-in process was smooth enough and we were pleasantly surprised to know that we had been upgraded to a lagoon room. The room was beautiful with all mod cons in place and the balcony view of the lagoon with the lotus fronds was quite pleasant. The bathroom had a sunken tub as well as a separate shower area with uniquely scented toiletries. The breakfast buffet has a wide spread. The resort has one main pool and another pool dedicated to the lagoon room guests alone. The lagoon pool is sort of an infinity pool built on the edge of the lagoon and is quite pleasant to swim in. The beach itself is average at best. The water looks a bit dirty and I was not tempted to go in. The staff are definite asset to the resort. Unfortunately there are a few aspects of the resort that we did not like which force me to give this resort a rating of only 4/5. The resort is not wheelchair-friendly and the worst part is the hotel does not mention this anywhere in their website. We were traveling with our 5 month old daughter and you can imagine our plight with the pram. Another oddity is that the sleeping area is separated from the bathroom by semi-transparent glass. Couples might find it romantic but what about people traveling with their parents or friends? The sunken tub had hot and cold water taps but no hand shower and the water is never hot…lukewarm at best. In spite of these I would recommend the hotel to all.

Slightly dated, but beautiful green hotel, with excellent beach access”

My wife and I stayed here in June 2019 for two nights. This was my first visit for perhaps 20 years. When I last visited, the grounds staff had kindly given me a plant that is still flourishing in my garden, and has reminded me frequently of the Anantara. This time around, the Anantara Hua Hin is clearly of a certain vintage, but it is well maintained and has retained its considerable charms. The room was lovely, if perhaps a little small, but included a patio area, and views of lovely ponds front and back. The facilities are very good: the pool is irregularly shaped, but convenient for swimming long laps, Breakfast is excellent, albeit a crowded chaotic affair. The beachside loungers were mercifully underutilized. The seafood buffet on the beach was spectacularly good. Highly recommended.

Beautiful garden - great for kids”

with a 3 year old boy and a 5 months old baby girl, we were looking for something relaxed and friendly. and we certainly found it at the anantara resort & spa hua hin. there are of course, plenty of mosquitoes, but not more than we could cope with. there is even proper (deet) mosquito repellent available in the room, but for your kids you may want to bring a healthier remedy. prices are a bit steep, so it may not be the right place for the budget traveler. all in all however, we felt it was very much worth it. good food, great breakfast, all in all fantastic service. don't expect to walk to the city center tho. either stack up on all you need beforehand, or prepare to venture out by tuk tuk on the motorway (not recommended with small children). we may well go back next time around!

A peaceful relaxing break ”

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Anantara just before New Year. We were very impressed by the hotel, the friendly staff and the fabulous food. Breakfast was pretty amazing, so much choice of anything you could possibly want. There are 2 lovely pools, although one is limited to lagoon guests. We were upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the lagoon and we loved sitting on our balcony admiring it at all times of the day. There is a beach but there were a lot of jellyfish so it’s not recommended for swimmers, but the pools and the grounds are so lovely that it wasn’t a problem. The rooms were good with comfy beds and lovely well kitted-out bathrooms. We couldn’t fault the Anantara at all and will definitely make it our first choice if we return to Hua Hin.

A beautiful resort where every a”

I had a fantastic stay. The gardens and ponds at the resort are beautiful and that would be enough for me to come back. Staying at Anantara is so incredibly relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and clean, I've tried the restaurant once but I would definitely not recommend dining there as the food is average and expensive. Take a taxi to downtown Hua Hin for great seafood at reasonable prices. Breakfast is very good and i have enjoyed particularly. The beach is not so nice nor is the water, do not expect crystal clear water. I love this place and hope I will be back soon.

Great Resort”

We loved our stay at this resort. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out the staff and their politeness blew us away. We have stayed at many resorts all over Thailand and this rates up there in the Top 5. The bathroom was huge and had this dark however cozy feel to it. Bed was terrific and as far as I can recall they were so comfortable I slept in on 2 occasions. Pool, food and just general guests all worked well together, We will be back here again when next in Hua Hin. A car would be recommended since its about 10 min from the centre as you head into Hua Hin.
