Geylang Cheap Hotel”

hotel 81 lucky is located at lorong 23, geylang. it only takes a 5 minutes taxi from golden miles to reach the hotel. the rate of this hotel is consider cheapest in singapore. the hotel is clean, tidy and equip with air-con, dvd player, tv with lcd monitor and hair dryer. besides, it only takes less than 10 minutes to reach ajunied mrt station. recommeded to bajet traveller.

Cheap, convenient and uniquely Singapore”

hotel 81 is an extensive budget hotel chains in singapore with dozens of hotels spread all over the city state. hotel 81 lucky is one of the cheapest because it is situated in the seedier parts of the city state. geylang is a red light district but it is also home to a vibrant working class community in the city centre. there are two mrt subway stations, kallang and aljunaid within 5 to 10 mins walking distance and cheap hawkers food are available right at your doorstep. this being singapore, a red light district is just an area where least politically acceptable service is available but it is still totally safe and clean. if you are on a tight budget and want a hotel with easy access to everything, this is almost unbeatable.

Budget Hotel ”

very nice to be here for my 3-day tour in Singapore. staff is helpful and nice. not that close to the City, but close to the Airport. i can say it is in between the City and Airport. need to take a few train stations to City Hall or Airport. (Taxi from Airport to Hotel 81 Lucky costs ~15SGD) before getting into the station, you need to walk for around 15 minutes the Aljunied station. it's hard job if you walk in the afternoon time. Overall, it's clean and ok to stay here, just be careful if you back hotel late as this district is quite famous for xxx business.

The hotel Room was clean but the AC was leaking. I have informed the Staff twice about it but was unable to do anything. Aside from that, no other complains for the Hotel. Location wise, i would not recommend it to families or to females travelling alone. Hotel 81 Lucky is located in Geylang which is Singapore's red district.

Room is nice & clean but at the red light district”

The room and staff at the hotel 81 lucky is two thumb up. Especially for the room, is very clean and tidy. The room is very comfort with all the amedies ready. (toothbrush,hairblower,etc). The only problem is the enviroment of the hotel is located at the red light district which will make the lady hotel guest feel uncomfort at evening.

Value for money hotel”

at first we're a bit worried with the hotel location, as it's located in a red light district; although other reviews mentioned not to worry about that. and that's true, it's really save. you don't even notice where it's located, unless you go to small small street. we booked 5 rooms in 81 lucky (for 8 adults and 2 kids) and enjoyed our stay there. room a bit small but we're ok with that; rooms also clean - they cleaned up everyday. hotel was also very quiet, we had a good night sleep after walking all day long :) receptionist was also accomodative.

Really Nice Place”

Pro: Nicely run hotel. Nice room - as depicted by Agoda, comfortable, BIG bed, beautiful bathroom/shower. 5min to the train station. Google Maps makes it look like everything is far apart. It's not... Elevator. Clean. Free water. Linens changed every day. Good WiFi - no problems. 24hr desk. 30sec walk to Geyland street with a HUGE variety of places to eat! And cheep! Cons: No refrig. No english stations on TV. Recommend? YES! But - for the budget conscious - the cheapest rooms in Singapore are at the Budget Inn Singapore two streets over. See my review there.

Basic hotel at a great price”

We liked staying at Hotel 81 Lucky and will certainly stay there again whenever we have a seminar in Singapore. We only use the room for a few hours a night to sleep so a basic hotel was fine with us. Despite the price the room is well looked after and looks modern with even an LCD TV. It would have been great to see a basic fridge as well and to make sure the rooms are non-smoking.

Small hotel with excellent service”

Initially, we didn't like the location since it's in the Red Light District. But once we stayed in Hotel 81 Lucky, the ambiance had switched to 180 degrees. The staffs are very accommodating. The room was okay and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed my stay in Hotel 81 Lucky. No doubt I will try one of their hotels again once I visit Singapore.

Good hotel with good sized and clean rooms”

Location of this hotel is right in the middle of the red light district but it's okay since there are lots of eating places around and it's quite safe to walk around. Actually quite fun to observe the hustle and bustle of Geylang. Hotel room seems to have been recently refurbished and it all looks clean and wonderful. The size of the bedroom is quite large compared to other hotels in this area. The reception staff were extremely helpful and efficient. I would go back to this hotel again if I was to stay in Geylang again. Especially appreciate the free wifi in the bedroom which works beautifully.

Excellent”

The room given to me was smaller than the ones I had previously booked at the Hotel 81 branches in adjacent Lorongs in Geylang. But my stay in Singapore was short this time and I could say this room was adequate for such a brief visit.

Brilliant staff, affordable hotel.”

The hotel was great for what we needed, located close to the transport system allowing us to move in and out of town quickly and effectively. The room itself was newly refurbished and modern with a good TV and clean bathroom; the bed was comfortable and we slept very well. However it was the staff who went above and beyond during our trip. On arrival at the airport we discovered that my partner had left her phone in the hotel room. I rushed back and the receptionist allowed me to check the room, however it had already been cleaned. Luckily the cleaning staff searched through all the bedsheets from that morning, and just as I was about to give up and grab a taxi, one came through with the phone! Would happily stay here again when we are next in Singapore!

Value for money”

Our stay at Hotel 81 Lucky was honestly not the best. Good points are that it is cheap for SIN and various eating places and shops are nearby up the street. Aljunied subway station is less than 10 min. by foot, but maybe easy to get lost for first time visitors. Room was quiet and clean with working shower, hot water, A/C and no bugs. Towels [only] bedding, and basic hygene items were provided. Staff helpful and spoke english. On the minus side, there was no shower curtain in the loo allowing water to splash all over the toilet and half the bathroom, and it seems after hours the hot water was off with only lukewarm water available. Bed maybe a bit small for a larger couple, mattress was covered in plastic and the sheets never stayed in place despite trying to secure the corners, etc...WiFi on our floor did not work, at best we only got a fair signal from the routers on ajacent floors. This was not a real problem for us as we did not not spend much time online. One important matter; we discovered that the door to our room did not lock properly from the outside, and it took several minutes of fiddling with the key and working the doorknob until we were sure it locked properly. After that we had no further problem but did doublecheck the door everytime going out. I am sorry to say other than being a basic place to sleep there's not much more going for it. Not "singapore" like in mind”

The hotel itself was nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our location was in Geylang - although the surrounding was not as nice as expected of Singapore, the hotel was satisfactory.

This is my many time stay in the hotel. The location of this hotel is right in the middle of the red light district but it's okay since there are lots of eating places around and it's quite safe to walk around. I have enjoy the fun of seeing teh ladies and it is no loniness as the place is full of excitement. Actually quite fun to observe the hustle and bustle of Geylang. Hotel room seems to have been recently refurbished and it all looks clean and wonderful. The size of the bedroom is quite large compared to other hotels in this area. The reception staff were extremely helpful and well manner. I would go back to this hotel again if I was to stay in Geylang again. Especially appreciate the free wifi in the bedroom which is a must for my work

I am from Malaysia. I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. I came to attend a concert. Easy access to and from anyway in Singapore. Taxis are easy to get as a lot pass through the hotel. Geylang area.. Halal food is a little bit hard to find.. a bit skeptical in the first place but manage to identify a few indian muslim halal food stalls situated within chinese kopitiam..The best thing about this area is that it stays alive although after midnight.. not like in Malaysia, most of the shoplots close operation mostly after 8pm.

A good choice of budget hotel”

once again i feel I made the right choice by going back to Hotel 81 for the second time, I think this is going to be my regular hotel any time im staying in singapore. Its very clean and comfortable and I recommend it to anyone on a budget.

it was my first time stay at hotel 81 lucky. i used to stay in other hotels with similar facilities and higher price. i would recommend this hotel to any kind of traveler from business to leisure. our children were quite cozy with the room and it's very convenient to look for cheap and delicious food.
