Clean efficient hotel”

I booked this hotel for its location - the hotel 81 chain is known to be, along with the Frangrance chain, discount hotels that often double as love motels. I found the Hotel 81 - Osaka to have a good mix of standard vacationing patrons (not sure how many were love motel customers). I myself was visiting Singapore for 3 days and needed a clean, affordable place with good location and minimal dodginess - and I found it at the Hotel 81 - Osaka. There are good eateries and a hawker complex within a 5 minute walk as is Chinatown and the Outtram Park MRT. The neighborhood is quiet and residential but with good access to conveniences.

The latest and best 81 in town”

The 81 Osaka, which I have found by sheer chance when looking at hotels online, is the newest and by far best 81 branded budget hotel in Singapore. I must admit that I have only tried 81 Bugis once though. It's simple but harmonious design- which includes quality ID materials - will suit most people who stay in Singapore just for the night and do not require any fancyness a full serviced hotel would have to offer. Great location, very helpful and friendly receptionist and great rates (at least on Agoda). Highly recommendable and good alternative to similarily priced hotels nearby. Stay there next time!

Modern chic in quiet location”

Hotel 81 Osaka impresses with its clean modern, can I say chic, decor. For the price and rating the rooms and bathroom were excellent if somewhat small (not for a family holiday !) Unfortunately was pressed for time, but the very friendly and efficient staff volunteered to order a taxi the following morning, plus a wake-up call. The room and bathroom were modern light and clean and a reasonable selection of channels on the flat screen TV (better than other 3 star hotels I have stayed at in SIN !) The location is just outside of Chinatown, but a few minutes walk/explore fairly late at night and I found a good Chines restaurant amongst a group. Good value for money, and quite close to the rather inconveniently located Singapore Railway Station (from Malaysia)

1st experienct at 81 Osaka”

I booked a room at Hotel 81 Osaka Singapore through agoda, printed my voucher and submitted to the front office. I didn't have problem at all when I checked in and quite satisfied with the service. Actually, I didn't expect such a service with such a low price. The hotel is withing walking distance to MRT Station and it made me easy to reach city hall, raffles, orchard, etc. The staff were friendly and willing to help. I asked them about some MRT routes (because I'm new to Singapore) and they gave me suitable information. There's a mini store next to the hotel and it's very useful for me. I could buy some necessities there. The hotel location is at a cull-de-sac so it is free of noises from the traffic. Definitely, I will stay again at Hotel 81 Osaka when I visit Singapore.

Friendly service, small but clean room.”

for me osaka was the best budget hotel i had stayed while in sg. I'm a regular visitor to singapore. the front desk was friendly and my request at time of booking was noted upon check-in. my room was clean and new and bright. i'm long used to the tiny wet bathrooms in asia so not an issue for me. location is pretty good. the nearest mrt station is about 10mins away on foot. not all taxi drivers know the location of this new hotel so it's good to get a snapshot of the map on your smart phone or have a small map printed out. the only issue i had during my stay was the hot water which didn't stay long enough before it turned lukewarm anytime of the day. other than that, i really am very happy with my stay there, and would definitely stay at osaka again the future.

affordable and clean hotel”

Hotel 81 Osaka is the newest hotel of Hotel 81 in Singapore so it is very clean. For transportation, it's near MRT - Outram Park exit B (7 mins walk) and then cross the road to opposite site and u will see the National Science Center, walk to the right, pass bus stop, see Outram Flyover and the Hotel (blue color) is your left hand side. Also, this hotel is near bus stop so u can go around the city by bus which is cheaper than MRT. This hotel is very perfect!!!!

Very clean budget hotel”

We stayed at Osaka 81 for only a night when we were looking for a cheap accommodation in Singapore due to cancel and reschedule of our flight. We found this hotel to be absolute value for money. It is a bit off the main MRT grid but you can walk to the nearest MRT station in 10 minutes. But, for the price this place was exceptionally clean and well kept.

A hotel for sleeping with good location”

This hotel is about a 5 minute walk from MRT station Outram and if you study your map before you arrive it is easy to find. I arrived at Singapore airport at 7.30 pm, I decide to catch the MRT to Outram it takes about 50 minutes but hotel was easy to find at night. It is about 15 minutes walk from China Town. It is a clean, quiet, friendly hotel. It is good for sleeping. Just a warning the 81 hotel chain has a rental per hour scheme sort of like a love hotel in Japan so there is people coming and going but this had no impact on my stay. Checkout is at 1pm - I extended my stay until 3pm so this cost me an extra $20.Food around hotel is excellent and very local. I thought this hotel was good for the price.

excellent service and friendly reception”

so far my stay at hotel 81 osaka is quite satisfied. just one thing need to highlight is the air con is very cool & the window cannot open. Good, clean place to stay with great security. Unfortunately the shower tap is at the wrong level that every time you move you bump into it and turn it off. Hotel 81 Osaka's best feature is really the location. The Outram Park station (which is the transfer station connecting two lines of the MRT) is just a short, tree-lined walk away. If you're really lazy, you can take a bus from the station to a drop-off point near the hotel. The hotel is also close to a bus station that can easily connect you to the other parts of the island (one ride away to Ikea!) and I think even Orchard Road. Hotel Osaka 81 is also close to the Tiong Bahru shopping cnetre which has a decent hawker centre on the second floor for quick and cheap eats. If your primary considerations for the hotel are location and price - and if you don't mind no-frills living - then Hotel Osaka 81 is for you

Great location”

We stayed at Hotel 81 Osaka (my husand and I) for one night. We also booked in our 25 yr old son & girlfriend (but into another room). Both rooms were comfortable, had tea & coffee making facilities, TV, were small, but ample size. We thought the bathroom was tiny, but were nicely surprised to find that the shower worked well. The front desk staff were very obliging and we couldn't have asked for better. Our only complaint was about the plastic sheeting that is under the actual sheets on the beds, gets a bit slippery during the night. Also we didn't have an additional blanket and got a bit cold during night - we realised we could have phoned reception to order one, but not that bothered. Overall very good stay.

Hotel 81 Osaka located at a very strategic location whereby very easy access to public transportation. This outlet absolutely good for people like to walking around etc: 8mins walk to Outram Park's mrt or 15mins walk to Tiong Bharu's mrt station. 3mins walk to the nearby bus station. Environment nearby is quiet and safe even I walked at night. Hotel housekeeping is excellent and have a good maintenance. Front desk customer service is friendly and efficient.

Best value hotel in Singapore ”

Great hotel very close to metro, the guys at reception were unbelievably helpful. The room is always in first class order as is the entire hotel. this is like 4 star place for 1 star money. We really highly reccomend this hotel very highly, you dont need to spend on hotels in Singapore while hotel 81 Osaka is there

I've spent 8 days in Singapore with my daughter, we chose to stay at Hotel 81 Osaka at the last minute and were very content with our choice. We had a pleasant stay and were very happy with Hotel 81 Osaka.

Oz to 81Osaka”

My Wife and I spent 2 days at hotel 81's Osaka in Chinatown on our return from Oz before heading back to the UK. We were extremely happy with the hotel staff who were very helpful in all our requests and could not be more courteous. Our room was very clean and functional. We would recommend this hotel to our friends without hesitation, so much so,that we have booked Osaka again on our return visit to Oz in September.

best value for money”

it was a pleasant stay in hotel 81. the staff are polite, efficient and helpful. the check-in process was very smooth, room is clean and spacious enough for our staff. the free wi-fi access is also great although we had some difficulty with the connections at first but got a good one afterwards. the location is very accessible to the public transport such as the mrt and the bus stations, the cherry convenience store beide is also to big plus if would liketo have quick snack fixes or get personal stuff. free water is also good to have in the room. food establishments around are also plenty so you wont be having a hard time logging out some chinese and korean foods. the neighborhood feels so safe and quiet no worries if you want to have a late night stroll. store hours around are also great since. its ok to stay until 4am. i just wish the hotel should have a small cafe open 24hrs so we can easily get food and bring it our room. all in all i would go back to this hotel for future visit in sg

Adequate Stay”

stayed for 2 nights at pretty new Hotel 81 Osaka. Room is very similar to other 81s, with jap-inspired patterned headboard. Doesn't feel as sleazy as some others. staff was kind enough to offer double parking at the hotel's 2 lot carpark, and call our room if the car inside needs to go out. We tried this for 1 night, but decided to do coupon parking so we can have a restful sleep instead of being awaken 'against our will'. Overnight coupon parking is not allowed in front of hotel (reserved for seasoned parking after 10.30pm), park at TE28 carpark instead (adjacent street). Coupon booklets are avail for sale at convenient store next to hotel. Don't try to risk not putting coupon/putting lesser amt, the 'fatimahs' are very ON here! we bumped into them once at midnight, n at 2pm.

Simple and trendy, Different ”

[HOTEL REVIEW] HOTEL OSAKA - SINGAPORE We were in Chinatown and decided to walk over, took us about 20 mins. This hotel unlike all other affiliates in Singapore is one we enjoyed the most. Unlike those dodgy ones in Joo chiat that make you cringe, this hotel is much more New and trendy. Very much prefer this hotel than all other budget outlets. Came on a day where the hotel is fully booked. Hotel check-in was bearable and also there were toothbrush and tooth paste. We really hated the shower gel and had brought ours. Room decoration and hotel decoration were way more classy than others. I very much enjoyed the night there.

unbelievable that i can go to get a hotel in singapore in last minutes and even its a high season just search as you like and you need. this 81 osaka hotel near by the outram park MRT station. just walk around 5 minutes to get in china town, and tiong bahru market...it gives us an unforgetable moment

Great Locatio”

I've stayed in Osaka 81 for 2 nights, and everything went well, after all, what I've been looking for was just a room to sleep at night. The hotel room is small, but very clean. The washroom is small too, but the water pressure is good. Turned out the reviews from other's were right, the sound proof of this hotel is pretty bad but that didn't irritate me much. MRT station is just 7-10 minutes walking distance, and the night life area (Neil Road) is another 5 minutes further down from the MRT station. Very easy access I would say.
