Value for money”

We had a great stay in Singapore, thanks to Hotel 81 Rochor. The hotel is very near Rochor and Jalan Besar MRT stations. Bugis and Little India stations are walkable as well making it easier to navigate between different lines. We came 2 hours early before the allowed checkin time and they allowed us to checkin early without additional charges. The rooms are being cleaned everyday and the staffs are very approachable. There's just a slight problem with the bathroom sink but was resolved during our stay. The floor is also a bit moist but manageable when wearing slippers.

The location was superb! Easy access to Jalan Besar mrt (200m) and Rochor mrt (100+m). 15-20 mins walk to Little India, Bugis street and Arab Street. Hotel easily seen once you are out from Jalan Besar Mrt. The hotel room was clean and surprisingly quiet from the street noise! Got 24/7 convenient store under hotel. The only cons would be the room size was quite small with the quite pricey room price. Suitable for those who travel light. Overall satisfied with our stay in Hotel 81 Rochor!

Convenient location and Cozy room with Wifi”

My stay at Hotel 81 was awesome. The staffs were friendly and helpful. There was no aircon when we stepped in (perhaps thry forgotten to switch on) but the staff was patient to assist us with that. Location is a huge draw as Hotel 81 Rochor sits between Little India and Bugis, two important sightseeing areas in Singapore. Great if you enjou sightseeing.

Will be doing comparison with very nearby same Hotel 81, Hotel 81 Rochor vs Hotel 81 Dickson, Room size and bathroom size is about the same for same class, same no window. Bedding, dickson have certain room with cloth bed that is very comfortable but most of them is vinyl covered less comfort, as for Rochor I got vinyl one, if you move around in your sleep, rochor bedding wins, because of bigger bed sheet and bed cover, so when you wake up in the morning you dont end up cold and sleeping on vinyl with no cover. Overall noise is lower on rochor, dickson is a crowded hotel, so you will hear a lot of people chat/walk/run/kids in the hallway at night/late night. Room smells/odors, I have issue on dickson certain room facing back alley, that will smells indian food from time to time, none of that happens on rochor, no smells, and look around the area there isn't any restaurant in close vicinity to the hotel. TV/entertainment, although size is the same, I don;t like channel selection on rochor, out of 9 channel or less, 5 are sports, I dont get it really? who watch 5 channel of sports is that necessary? even reception staff never put on sport channel, who watch it? this one Dickson wins, it didn;t have more channels but at least some are watchable and not as much as 5 sport channels! All other not mentioned here, about on par, internet speed, cleanliness, pricing just a tiny bit cheaper on Rochor $3-5 or so. Location, if going to bugis area rochor is tiny bit closer, but going to little india area Dickson closer, just by a few hundred meters. Overall to me, 81 rochor wins.

Super Accessibility”

We stayed for 8 days and found it very convenient for our outings. Being very close to Rochor MRT and bus stand with other MRTs like Little India and Bugis within walking distance its very easily accessible even late at night. Another MRT is coming up nearby. We could carry all our luggage back to the airport via MRT saving big time on taxi fares because of the hotel's proximity to the MRT. We could avoid Taxi even for the Night Safari, using MRT instead. Surprisingly it doesn't get noisy inside the room even though the Hotel is situated at a busy cross road. Loads of eating options nearby, some outlets open for 24hrs which makes it very easy to go by your own schedule. The staff is efficient and courteous. The triple room is good enough for a family of 3, the double is good for couples but with the smoked glass wall for the washroom its a little uncomfortable if friends put up together. A very good option for budget travelers. Its kind of at the gateway of Little India.

I stayed in this hotel for almost 5 days and it was indeed a pleasurable experience all through those 5 days. A definitely recomended hotel and I think it deserves 3 stars for the service it offers. Good and well behaved staff , clean rooms with 24x7 Internet facility( payable) and easy access to MRT and bus stops near Little India. Ideal hotel for a business traveller for a short stay with all food courts near by makes it the most preferred hotel around Rochor area. I would definitely visit it again. Thanks.

Hotel 81 Rochor, Clean and Comfortable”

I stay at Hotel 81 Rochor, Little India for two nights with my daughter and I book by credit card of my husband in Jakarta. It's firstly difficult to find hotel location since I arrived at Singapore, we are trying hard to reach location of hotel, turn around until finally find the hotel. We are asked for the voucher that Agoda send to me before and I showed the voucher, but still difficult to check in without arguing with Hotel reservation officer, they asked me my husband's copy of credit card and copy of my husband's passport that I just bring copy of my husband's credit card, finally they accept us to check in. This Hotel is very comfortable, with clean and wide room for standard type, and clean bathroom but the location is very far from orchard, and business district and I feel its difficult to find taxi, but surrounding area is not noisy, best to take a rest. Hotel officers is very accommodate in the all reviews, I am quite satisfied with Hotel 81 Rochor Singapore.

Such valuable stay”

It was a great stay at Hotel 81 Rochor. Very near to Rochor MRT station (which started to operation in the end of 2015), just 2 minutes of walking . Staff is very friendly. Room service is good, well-accomodated. Room is always clean and dry. Free wifi is super strong. The neighborhood is clean and modern as well. Quick chech-in and check-out. Overall, it was worth the money and made my Singapore trip so much more comfortable. Thank you!

Decent place to stay”

At first we are hesitant to stay due to reviews we read but it is really worth trying to stay at hotel 81 rochor.. it is near bugis and near summerview hotel for a free shuttle to universal.. we will definitely stay here on our next visit to SG..

Budget hotel in central location, near MRT”

Arrived on business trip. Have stayed in this Hotel 81 many, many times before and have always come back due to its location and relative price compared to other hotels in Singapore. Staff are friendly. They tend to separate the business or tourist room floors from those rented out on hourly basis which is a very good idea and we won't be interrupted by constant banging of doors, talking and footsteps in the corridor. Many varieties of local food are located nearby. Bugis, OG etc and the MRT are all close by. If you can sleep, the 24hr Mustafa Centre is also within walking distance.

Clean and Modern Hotel in a Great Location”

The biggest advantage of this small urban hotel is its excellent location and proximity to Bugis Market and Sim Lim Square. The Bugis MRT station is also nearby, so as the Rochor MRT station. Little India - an iconic cultural area of the city - is a short walk away as well. The rooms are small and mine had no window, creating a "sealed bunker" sort of feeling. But the decor is modern, the lighting is pleasant and overall the hotel is nice and clean in the rooms and common areas. The Check-In was swift and easy, so was the checkout. The reception also offered me some handy travel info for my short stay in Singapore. One Huge Issue I had during my stay was the lack of hot water in the shower. There must have been a malfunction with the boiler on my floor, because even as they let me use a shower in another room, there was no water there either. This was a massive letdown. Another gripe is the AirCon - it is impossible to switch off completely, so all through the night you will hear the low rumble of the air system. It renders the air very dry and leads to dehydration during the night. I woke up very thirsty and with dry skin.

Good. Location is great. Wifi is good. Room is clean. Bathroom needs some attention: water leaks outside the door and molds on the walls. Windows can't be opened. Basic room if you're to spend more time outside. Staff are very helpful and reliable. Close to Bugis MRT. Will stay again in Hotel 81 Rochor.

Good for Business Trip”

the hotel 81 rochor is situated right opposite the electronics shopping center like sim lim square and sim lim tower. it is very convenient to get some electrical and electronics spare parts at a good affortable price. there are a bunch a good loat food stalls just 5 to 8 mins away. the nearest shopping center is bugis junction and parco bugis which is right above the bugis mrt station. the distance from the hotel to the mrt is approximatly 8 to 15 mins walk. the room is generally clean and comfortable. internet speed is good.

Staycation”

Location was ok. Walking forward u will reach bugis area, walking backward u will reach little india. Food wise, theres alot of range. As a member of Hotel 81, booking as a member is much more cheaper. But booking thru agoda, no worries of no room avail. Of all Hotel 81, i should say, Hotel 81 Rochor is more comfortable.

Strategic location for cheap shopping”

If you would like easy access to shops selling cheap gadgets and something to bring home for family members and friends, then book at Hotel 81 Rochor. It is a 15-minute walk away from Mustafa Center (where you can buy goodies) and Bugis Junction. The place is just across the Sim Lim Square (IT shops) - you can use this as a landmark when you tell to the taxi drivers. The nice thing about the Hotel is that it welcomes you smiles from female receptionist after you have just been from a long hot and humid summer. The cool airconditioning refreshes concludes you all in a day. A free WiFi is a plus however you may have limited channel access in the television. The hotel may improve more by adding additional outlet wherein we could charge our digital cameras and phones at the same time.

Clean, great location, just that room was so small”

it was a pleasant stay with hotel 81 rochor. it was just 10 min walk away from bugis mrt, and can easily get access to bugis junction and orchard, and especially sim lim square just next to it. room and toilet was clean but small, other than the bed, we hardly had any space to move around. staff are friendly and quick to handle issues.
