Family friendly and great location! ”

We stayed for 5D/4N in a 30+ sqm Family Room, bigger than most hotel rooms in Singapore. It has spacious T & B with bathtub, complete toilet amenities, hair dryer, coffee making facility, laundry basket, safe, huge cabinet with hangers, LED TV, iron and board, room slippers and all those small knick-knacks. Breakfast: Not included on our booking, but you may opt to add this for a fee. Pool: Yes Parking: Yes Laudry Facility: Yes Drinking Water Refilling Facility: Yes! A big plus points! Bus Stations: Yes. Right in front of Hotel Royal Train Line: Yes. Few blocks walk to Novena and Newton stations. Shops and F & B establishments: They have resto inside the hotel, but quite expensive. If you don't mind walking a bit, you can find lots of choices in nearby malls and stalls such as Novena Square and United Square. All we need was already in those facilities, one happy and satisfied monkey here :-) Bed and Sleep Quality: Bed is comfy. Pillows and linen are warm and fluffy. Hence, good sleep quality. Staff: hospitable and accomodating. On our last day of stay, we needed some boxes for our goodies to bring back home. We tried our luck with the housekeeping and they happily gave us few sturdy boxes for us to use. Checking in and out: Quick and hassle free. Upon checking in, we we're welcomed by smiling staff at the reception. We just showed our booking print out and everything was a breeze. While upon checking out, we just paid our phone calls made by hubby and settled our bill in a flash. Over all, I would recommend this Hotel. We are looking forward to going back there soon! Accomodation in Hotel Royal, Singapore”

We find our stay in Royal Hotel is a very convenient and satisfying during April 9-12. The comfort we benefited are among others 1) the unique good food at the hotel 2) Hotel Royal is the center of everything we plan to go (a) visit our eldest son in a boarding jr college in Bishan near the junction8 MRT, (b) during last Easter and maybe our next destination on Christmas the hotel is within walking distance for the Novena catholic church,(c) the most important for fast and safe transport is the hotel is only minutes away from Novena' MRT. (d) Some Department stores nearby for instance the Novena Plaza (it has a basketball court for teens now) are also good alternatives if you are many many time went to Orchard. Surprisingly we find the budget Mustafa Department store is also close by to the hotel by taxi. (e) the famous Newton Circus food center is also close by and also a number of street foods / seafood across the Novena Church plus those unmentionable in the area. In the hotel and a few step from the hotel you will find a good nitelife. Our family (54 y.o, 16 y.o., 18 y.o & 50 y.o) overall rating this hotel is Excellent !

Hotel Royal offers value for money compared to similar four-star hotels. Although one of the oldest hotels in Singapore, Hotel Royal offers a family room that is spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable to sleep on. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. The hotel is also close to the Novena MRT station where accessibility is a must for faster and convenient travel to Singapore's tourist sites. There are many neighboring restaurants and eateries to choose from. Location at Newton St. is quiet and peaceful. The front desk staff are accommodating and friendly.

The Staff under the care of the Executive Duty Manager Alice, is a well oiled machine, she is very helpful and pays particular needs to the old, frail and disabled. A wonderful lady with a lot of patients and understanding, she is a distinct asset to The Hotel Royal, and her experience shows from the moment she gets involved. Location is wonderful! Near 3 shopping malls and lots of foods nearby within short distance by foot, really convenient for family with young kids like me. Security check staff are friendly and polite, Check in was fast and simple, explanation was clear and accurate, My room was clean during check in and house keeping job is well done too, replenished my room's need during my stay and fully cleaned my room as well. American breakfast was served at cafe with hot tea/coffee, fruit juice, fresh milk, toast with butter and jam. Food was non salty and non oily but portion was a bit little as my 12 years old daughter and my husband still felt hungry after finished all the food,, it would be prefect if comes with vegetables and fruits to make it a balance meal. Only 3 gentleman were doing the serving during breakfast time , yet still able to attend you as fast as they could despite their busy serving jobs, The counter lady also helped out the serving when she's free, good teamwork spirit! Able to see and tell all staff are well trained and well manners, keep it up! Hotel Royal please give all of them a credit, they deserved it! Overall my family and me were satisfy with our 2 nites stay at Hotel Royal. Thank you all Hotel Royal staff!

Royal Hotel - Newton Road, SIngapore”

We would recommend Royal Hotel to anyone who wants to be near to Orchard but not pay Orchard Road prices. Transportation was really convenient as the bus stop is located right in front of the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Equipped with TV, mini fridge, kettle, hair dryer and mini-safe. Though we did not try the food at the hotel, but there is an impressive Chinese restaurant which we would definitely try on our next visit. We would stay at Royal Hotel on our next visits to Singapore.

Hotel Royal is between two MRT Subway Stop: Newton and Novena. Coming from Changi airport, you can get off at Novena MRT stop then 7 minutes walk to hotel. Hotel Royal room is spacious, clean and cool with self control aircon. The room has a Small fridge, ironing board, bathtub. Bed was very comfortable. Bus stop in front of the hotel.

A pleasant stay at hotel Royal”

I've never known about hotel Royal before, but when I was searching for a decent budget hotel in Singapore and read all the reviews from past guests for this hotel I was interested and booked for one night before my cruise started the next day. I was delightfully surprise when they upgraded us into a suite (I booked for a superior room) with a spacious lounge and an extra plasma tv! (pity we only stayed for one night..). The furnishing was a bit dated but everything else were perfect. The receptionists were efficient and friendly. Orchard road only 5 minutes drive and there is a big shopping centre nearby. Breakfast was good with plenty variety to choose from, and was included in the rate. I can't thing anything negative about this hotel and certainly will stay again here in the next future

Excellent”

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Royal. From check in to check out. We stayed for 5 days and we never got a problem with them. We would always arrive in our room clean and with new sets of toiletries and everything. My parents who are also picky and sensitive were very satisfied and they were very happy with all the amenities. Pros: - Location - Walking distance to Novena MRT and also Newton Food Centre if you are looking for a good place to eat - Staff - They were very courteous and helpful - Rooms - Very nice and clean. Also spacious especially for people who have lots of things like us Cons: None

Good value for money”

Hotel Royal was comfortable and conveniently located near public transport and has two shopping complexes only a few minutes walk away (Novena Square and United Square). It also has a large medical centre and hospital very close. Singapore hotels are quite pricy but I was surprised at the quality of the room for the price I paid. Internet charges were high so if you can use your smart phone as a portable hotspot, it will be much cheaper.

My stay at Hotel Royal”

We were tourists from Indonesia. We stayed at this hotel from Dec 27 to Dec 30, 2018. Since our main purpose is to visit Gardens by the Bay Singapore, it is very helpful that there is a bus stop in front of the hotel with the bus has a direct connection to the Bayfront area. The hotel is also in walking distance to St Alphonsus Church and Novena Square. We arrived on Dec 27 at around 11 am at the hotel and we were thankful that the hotel allowed us to check-in and gave us a family room that was ready. The hotel staffs were friendly and the check-in process was fast. Our room was number 1419, is a quite big and there are many facilities in the room including an electic water kettle, TV, refrigerator, deposit box, hair dryer, iron with board etc. There is also a water dispenser in the corridor outside the room. The bed is very comfortable. I had a very good sleep during my stay at this hotel! In the first floor there is a shop where we purchased our 7-days tourist SIM-card. Thanks

Excellent Value Hotel”

We were travelling with my 90-year old father, who requires the use of a wheelchair. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were promptly checked in. The room was the largest we've seen in Singapore for a long time, with a pleasant street view extending over the western reaches of Singapore. The modifications to the hotel were insufficient to be completely wheelchair friendly, however the staff went out of their way to assist wherever possible - including cafe management, bell captains, and the room attendants. Breakfast was included. Food was average, the choice was adequate, however there was plenty of it. Wi-fi was free, and with a 3-person room, we were given access to 4 devices. Internet speed was good. The pool was large and deep - the kind only found in established hotels in Singapore. It was also open until 10pm, which is a real bonus. Location was good, with access to plenty of buses and taxis, and a 400m walk to Novena MRT and local shopping centres.

Valentine's Getaway”

We find Hotel Royal a very nice place to stay while in Singapore. It's rooms are cleaan and food in the cafe is good. Going around the city is easy because of the bus stop just in front of the hotel. You can make tour arrangements easily soon as you get there. we stayed in singspore for 3 days and 2 nights and not a single minute was wasted. Hotel personnel are very friendly except for the 2 filipinos (a male and a female) staff we met in the elevator. Overall, our Hotel Royal experience had been great and we would definitely stay there again when we go back to singapore.

Got upgrade to Royal Residence”

First of all, its not fair if I review this hotel without giving information that I got upgrade.. I did not stay at the Royal Hotel, meanwhile I was staying the apartment next the hotel, called as Royal Residences.. Its 13th Floor apartment with 4 rooms every floor I choose this hotel because its they provide family room (occupancy for 3 adult people), near MRT and in front of hotel has bus station.. Has 2 malls nearest by.. only 15 mins to Orchard.. Because the upgrade, of course I should tell you.. the room is very nice (coz a studio apartment concept), with big LED TVs, having small kitchen, microwave too.. 1st floor provided jacuzzi and small swimming pool, and they also have a gym too I talked with the frontliner, she said I got the upgrade because the hotel was full with group booking, and Royal Residence only for a long term stay.. too bad.. definitely I would come back again if I got the Royal Residence..

Nice Hotel”

Booked a family room for 3. After reading the reviews, I thought we made a mistake of booking our room here. Someone even said in a review that the hotel is "old and way past its glorious days". So I wasn't really expecting much. But when we arrived at the hotel and got to see our room (with a view!), I was relieved! The location is a short 5-minute walk to MRT Novena and buses stop exactly at the hotel--it's very convenient. Hotel rooms are cleaned every day and bath towels were replaced daily as well. Overall, it was a great experience at this hotel. :)

Hotel Royal ”

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Royal, it was close to the Novena MRT, and two shopping centres nearby,with some good food outlets. It was handy to get on the Night Safari bus shuttle. Not far from Orchard Road shopping. Although the room was dated we had a good view from the window, and a new flat screen tv. The bathoom was sparkling clean. The buffet breakfast was well organised and good value. When we checked out we were allowed to leave our luggage there until later on in the day to collect on our way to the airport.

Very good place to stay”

We stayed for 11 nights - booked online and got an excellent price. When we arrived at the hotel, we were upgraded to a room with windows in the block separate from the main entry block. Check-in was very easy. Very nice room, all amenities provided, rooms serviced every day (including clean sheets each time). We had room 32 on the 3rd floor. Almost all staff were very helpful and friendly - only one or two not particularly interested in helping! We didn't eat at the hotel, so can't comment on that. Nice pool and spa area. Free use of washing machine and dryer. Bus and taxis at front door. Short walk to Novena Shopping Centre or Newton Circus for food court. Possibly the large tour groups stay in the rooms above the check-in area - we saw almost no people in our block. Very quiet, as we'd requested. We travelled with friends, who had the room next to us - also requested. Would definitely recommend to our friends. Thank you to all for a very pleasant stay.

Older style hotel but roomy & comfortable”

This was our second stay at the Royal on Newton Road. Large room with comfortable bed. Good value for money as we are an older couple & price is an issue for us. An easy 8 min walk to Novena MRT or bus outside the door to Newton MRT. Plenty of choice for breakfast but dining room very busy this trip. I would stay here again and would recommend as a reasonably priced hotel. Lovely staff.

Hotel Royal Singapore”

I found Hotel Royal to be comfortable clean and very conveniently located. Its proximity to the Novena centre was a great bonus as one had access to shops, a food court as well as the Novena MRT station. Good service from staff was appreciated. My stay was short but I would have no hesitation in going back. A better room service menue, particularly for breakfast would have been an additional advantage.

"Every room a home" is correct”

This is the second time I stayed here, and it's as good as before. Whereas we walked to Novena for the MRT in our previous trip, we decided to also use the bus stop in front of the hotel this time, specially since our booking had wifi included and we could check routes before leaving the hotel. We had booked 5 rooms, and the hotel assigned us 5 contiguous rooms, 2 of them with a connecting door. The breakfast was ok -- I can appreciate a nearly identical daily breakfast as long as there is a wide selection of food, and Hotel Royal did not disappoint. There's even a chef making omelettes or fried eggs on order. On checkout day, they graciously allowed us to keep the connecting rooms until 2:30pm.
