Why Nostalgia Hotel gets my business”
I have stayed four times or more at the Nostalgia Hotel now - and have found it to be a better stay each time I have been there. The reason it gets my return business is because they have one of the best staff's of any hotel I have stayed in anywhere. That is not a statement I make lightly - but one that fits when you truly have a staff that is excellent and that actually influence your stay in the way they do their job. Thank you to the entire staff for your professionalism and all the tips on places to go eat! The location is perfect - placing you in the neighborhood that is the up and coming area of Singapore - with a great hawker court a block away - an excellent bakery a block away - and you are in between two MRT stops that are 7 -10 min walk. As for the rooms - they are all quite nice and very clean. Really love the great water pressure in the shower too! I recommend taking the corner rooms (any that are 01) only if you are staying a night and or with little baggage. Thank you to the manager for changing me to a different room and bigger room on this last stay! And that is exactly why I will be returning again on the next trip to Singapore.

Loved it. Wonderfully soft beds, great staff!”
Compared to the rest of SE Asia, Singapore is expensive. So finding a comfortable hotel is really challenging, some of the ones I looked at would only allow a single occupant at that price. We've stayed in others in that price bracket and weren't that impressed. On the contrary, the Nostalgia Hotel is a new boutique hotel, with admitedly small rooms, but very well appointed and the most comfortable beds I've had in SE Asia. The staff were absolutely brilliant. They welcomed us to the hotel and really gave exceptional service. The location is great with a fantastic seafood area only 2 doors away. We will not stay anywhere else in Singapore!

Great boutique hotel with impeccable service”
I stayed almost a month at the Nostalgia Hotel when I moved to Singapore. Although the rooms are small, the hotel is well cared for and very comfortable. There's a small and very pleasant pool on the 3rd floor, which is rarely used by the guests. What really stands out at Nostalgia hotel is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Everyone, from the charming cleaning lady to the managers, were courteous, helpful, and attentive. Best service I've ever had in a hotel. I can't recommend Nostalgia Hotel highly enough.

Friendliest staff in Singapore, and a top location”
stayed here with a friend and they made us very very welcome. the room was small but comfortable and clean with good bathroom and great shower. we did have a window but shutters would not open-a shame as i like to see the view! no other quibbles, though, the location in tiong bahru is excellent-a quiet neighbourhood, really interesting to walk around. a short walk to chinatown or to the mrt. one of the reasons for choosing the hotel was its proximity (just over the road) to tiong bahru market with its famous food centre. this certainly did not disappoint! some of the best food i've ever tasted and a nice open setting to eat it in. the everyday market downstairs is also well worth a look. for swimmers or even non-swimmers there is a lovely pool terrace on the roof of the hotel with a view over the trees and the surrounding area. would definitely recommend the nostalgia if you'd like a taste of old style suburban singapore.

Comfortable stay in nice hotel”
Rooms are small with minimal storage so if you want to spend lot of time in your room then its probably not for you but if you are looking fo a neat and clean hotel for short stay then consider the Nostalgia. Staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great with the hawkers market right behind with plenty of dining options not just in the markets but within easy walking distance of the hotel. A nice deck area and pool allowed relaxing at the hotel. A bus stop practically out side the door connected with the MRT (underground) Getting the 3 day tourist pass allows you to get around town very easily. If you enjoy a walk you can easily reach Chinatown and the city from this hotel. All in all we were happy with the hotel and would use it again. Not in the city but every thing is within easy reach via the public transport. Trains finish at midnight but the buses run much later and there are about 7 bus lines that run past the door.

Great boutique hotel at the right price”
I had an excellent stay at Nostalgia Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small as other reviews state, but this is common for Singapore. I had no problems with the size and was very comfortable (the bed especially!) The rooms and overall facilities were very well kept. And best of all, the neighborhood where this hotel is located is fantastic! Great local food in the Tiong Bahru Market and amazing baked goods at Tiong Bahru Bakery and Plain Vanilla Bakery. You won't be sorry to stay here!

Refreshing place to stay”
What a great stopping place- we were en-route back to NZ from Europe and used the Nostalgia Hotel for a one night break in the journey. Staff were very responsive and found us a room available well before scheduled check-in time (ie 10 am instead of 2pm) which fitted well for our early morning arrival. Facilities are very comfortable and clean- including a large bed and bathroom. We'd have no hesitation in staying again especially as we're more familiar with Singapore's public transport systems. This is important given the heat and humidity in Singapore and Nostalgia's location midway between two subway stops- although it has very close bus stops.

Exceptional”
We just luv the Nostalgia hotel. The staff are so professional especially the manager Jeffrey, they will go out of their way to my your stay enjoyable. The rooms are always very well looked after and clean. The hotel stays with the era of the old singapore and the area has everything you need for a great stay in Singapore (cafe's Restuaruts food hawkers) and just a lovely part of Singapore.

Home from home”
Staying at the Nostalgia Hotel is home from home for me. I am a frequent guest and am never disappointed. The only downside is the rooms are very small, so not much space to work, but if all you want is a good night sleep and are not going to spend too much time in the room I highly recommend it. It is situated in a lovely, historical neighbourhood where there are lots of cafes, both new and old. For Singapore, which is very expensive, it is a great choice and good value for money.

Return to Singapore after 27 years”
Many years ago Raffles Hotel wasn't surrounding by high rise apartments, the Fairmont and Raffles City.Fortunately the Nostaglia still retains its nostalgia with decor to suit. While the rooms are quite small, they are adequate by Singapore standards and great value for money. The Staff were very helpful and the location is perfect for buzzing around Singapore on the MRT. Four buses from right outside the hotel take you up to Tiong Bahru MRT from which you can go anywhere in Singapore for a couple of dollars.

We Found Our Secret place to stay in Singapore ”
Ist the manager at the front decks, what a wonderful asset for the hotel he had the best attitude and manner we have ever come across in our travels, Thank you very much Mr Jeffrey began. What a wonderful old hotel, looks great and inside is perfect. It's so good going to a small hotel where they make you feel special and comfortable. The rooms are very clean & neat and ours was decked out in the old style. The bed is to die for. In brief we can not say 1 bad thing about The NOSTALGIA HOTEL Once again thank you manager Mr Jeffrey Ngam for making us feel special and how you treated us while we were at your hotel for 5 nights

Lovely Hotel in fantastic location.”
This hotel is in a fantastic location in Singapore. Close to Tiong Bahru market and surrounded by lots of restaurants and cafes. The hotel is a very easy 10 minute stroll to MRT. Whilst the room was small it had everything we needed. The bed was soft and comfy. Lovely pool. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I have been to Singapore many times and stayed in various 5 star hotels but would definitely stay at the Nostalgia on my next visit.

Great stay for a short trip”
I find Chinatown to be the most interesting part of Singapore. Nostalgia is well located and you can get there by train from the airport. Tiong Bahru market is just around the corner. Fabulous food stalls. Hotel has great service. Excellent staff. And a swimming pool that overlooks the main road! Recommended.

Still a great hotel”
This is my second visit to the Nostalgia hotel and it is still as good as my first visit. The rooms are still perfect the bed still as soft and the shower still as strong. The surounding area has improved and the chinese market and cafes are now more pleasant. Within walking distance to Chinatown but a taxi to everywhere else. 8SD by taxi to Orchard Sreet.

Great location and good value - but beware the smokers”
My wife and I spent a night at the Nostalgia Hotel at the end of 2020. The hotel's location is excellent with a wide range of interesting restaurants, coffee shops and shops in close proximity. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and compact. We enjoyed a late afternoon swim in the pool. The only issue we had was with the guests in the room next door. We had booked a balcony room thinking it would be pleasant to be able to sit outside. At no point were we warned or advised about guests being able to smoke so that our room was filled with their smoke - this despite a warning note in the room which advises of a SGD200 fine for smoking in the room or consuming strong-smelling food. If you are a non-smoker book a balcony room at your peril.

Lovely small boutique hotel in Tiong Bahru district.”
In concept, hospitality and location, Nostalgia Hotel is a fine place. However, be aware that the standard rooms are SMALL, so small you have to go outside to change your mind! Did not get to see the size of higher level rooms but doubt they are much larger. We were told that they spent $3000 each for the mattresses, but really, the rooms should be much larger than their mattresses. Feel sorry for the housekeepers as it must be very awkward and difficult to make the bed. That's our only qualm other than the smokers in the outdoor bistro Potion. Kudos to Toni at the front desk who was beyond helpful and kind in her attentive service that went above and beyond on our account.

Quaint Hotel and Good Location”
my partner and i stayed at nostalgia hotel for 4 nights through the end of november. its a small quaint hotel and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. we had come from a 12hr flight and slept through the first day, but at night we walked around the area and stumbled upon on the tiong bahru market, some of the best chicken rice i have had, priced around its a must have. it is also very close to orchard rd full of great shopping and delicious food.

Transit stop over”
We stayed at Nostalgia Hotel for 2 nights on our way back to Australia from India. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and cosy, although if you're a larger person it may be a bit small, and there's not much room for luggage. But the mattress and bedding were so comfortable and the blackout curtains so effective that we slept in until almost midday on both days. No outside noise filtered in at all. Only a 10 min walk to 2 MTR stations, cheap hawker eats and corner shops nearby. We didn't have the opportunity to swim in the pool or use the restaurant outside. The pressure of the shower head is amazing, better than most in Australia!
