Good hotel in a great central location”

My wife and I originally stayed in the Swissotel The Stamford Hotel almost eight years ago and enjoyed it then, so naturally we decided on our recent trip to Singapore we should also stay there, albeit with two children this time. The hotel is large and busy, but the staff are efficient, courteous and friendly. The height of the building means that if your room is on a higher floor, it may take some time to get up or down as the lift can often make many stops to pick-up and drop-off guests on lower floors, however once you get to the room the views are spectacular. The rooms are showing their ages a little, however they are still clean and spacious, with all the necessities catered for. While not the cheapest hotel in the area, would definitely recommend due to the close proximity to the City Hall MRT station and other facilities.

We have holidayed in Singapore many times but this was our first opportunity to try out the Swissotel Stamford. It turned out to be a very wise choice for our visit. Unlike some other hotels, where a room request may or may not be met, staff at the Stamford seem to take pleasure in "delighting the customer". We requested a non-smoking, refurbished room and were given a lovely room on a high floor with a spectacular view of the harbour, complete with a surprise welcome gift. The staff really are wonderful, from the reception clerk who was still cheerful when checking us in at 1am, to the chatty room service staff, the chirpy doorman, and so on. It was noticeable that all staff seemed eager to engage you in meaningful conversation, even in the lifts. It makes such a pleasant change from the perfunctory "Good morning" that you otherwise expect. On our last day we were really pleased to receive a complimentary late checkout because of an evening flight departure. This meant we had a chance to properly pack our last-minute shopping and to freshen up before going to the airport. Take a bow, Swissotel Stamford staff, you have all done very well. Especially Ms Osman and Ms Tan, who went well above and beyond our expectations to ensure our stay was a memorable one – brilliant!!!

Convenient location”

My recent stay at Swissotel The Stamford Hotel was very convenient for several reasons. Great location, easy access to many shopping areas (Raffles City Shopping Centre, Suntec City Shopping Centre, Marina Square shopping centre). Also not too far from Orchard Rd, only a short taxi ride. The Swissotel is conveniently located with Raffles City Shopping Centre and City Hall MRT station. The Raffles City Shopping Centre has great eateries, great shopping and supermarket facilities. The only thing i would say, is that the rooms in the Swissotel are looking a little tired and dated. This is a very busy hotel, as many airline crews stay here, but the staff are very helpful.

My Home in Singapore”

Swissotel The Stamford Hotel makes me feel like I'm at Home whenever I travel in Singapore for business or pleasure. I love the location of Swissotel Stamford. The Raffles City is just at the back and I can go shopping and dine anytime. And all I need is just a walk away. Also, In Swissotel I can meet and do my business meeting anytime. I love Swissotel and definitely will stay again. I always feel like Home whenever I am in Swissotel The Stamford Hotel, whenever I am in Singapore.

5 Star Hotel with excellent service.”

the swissotel the stamford, singapore is a 5 star hotel and part of rafffles city upmarket shopping centre which has city hall mrt station under it. at 70 floors it is one of the highest hotel buildings in asia and is also linked to the fairmont hotel which occupies another corner of raffes city and residents can sign for services in both hotels. the hotel is a half hour taxi ride from the airport at a cost of about 30 sing $ which is about 8 gbp. on arrival the bell boy took the luggage and a receptionist escorted us from the car to check in asking our name on the way. when we reached reception our room key was ready and with a quick signature and a swipe of the credit card we were escorted to the lifts and up to our room. our bags arrived one minute later. the room had two double beds, a large flat screen tv with a good variety of international channels, a dressing table with a stool and a desk with two seats. there was a phone on the desk and by the beds as well as in the toilet which had a nice sized bath with shower. the flush for the toilet was a round push knob set in the wall and was a little hard to push. the mini-bar was well stocked and there was the usual free coffee and tea as well as an in room safe. the room has wired or wifi internet but it cost 28 sing $ (about 15 gbp) for a 24 hour period although the business centre on the 4th floor (in the fairmont hotel) allowed 15 minutes free internet usage for residents who were printing boarding passes. the lobby court restaurant by reception provided continental breakfast for 22 sing $ (about 11 gbp) and a nice snack lunch at a very reasonable price. the café swiss restaurant breakfast cost 44 sing $ (about 20 gbp) for full breakfast and 31 sing $ (about 15 gbp) for continental. the asian delights evening buffet was very good and cost 69 sing $ (about gbp). all staff were very friendly and extremely polite. the shopping mall had a wide variety of upmarket shops and the basement has a supe

Great Location, very courteous staff.”

after an 8 hour flight, it was great to be made so welcome at swissotel the stamford. fast checkin, amazingly courteous staff and very accommodating to our needs. we asked for a cot, and although it took 2 hours to arrive, there was no extra charge. the baby necesseties were a nice touch. our room, unfortunately, looked down onto a construction site and construction activities sometimes go through the night in singapore. pile driving at 7pm then 10pm then 1am were not appreciated! i spoke to staff and they promptly relocated us to a higher room facing a different direction. although it was inconvenient to change rooms at 1.30am (with a baby), the staff did everything they could to assist. new room was great but had a slight hint of smoke - must of been a former smokers room (smoking is now prohibited throughout). location is great - minutes walk to the waterfront, right on top of a large shopping centre and mrt (train) station. pool facilities are good with an amazing outlook of marina bay. highly recommended - just watch out for construction sites!

Perfect Location, Views & Facilities Topped With Excellent Service”

Whenever I am in the Lion City, I will never forget to check in to Swissotel@The Stamford. The excellent Swiss hospitality from the staff is the cherry on top for a hotel that is conveniently located above the intersection of the Red and Green line in Singapore (traditionally, these were the only two when I first started staying here for business). However, the most cherished feature I love is the view from their balcony suites. I will always ask if possible to get a good view and just relax after hectic business days. The facilities have been well maintained as well and a good sauna and gym session helps keeps me on the go. Talking about being on the go, morning calls and a Concierge sensitive to my logistics needs have always made my stay pleasant, along with a fast check out.

Just Lovely”

This used to be the old Westin then now change name to Swissotel. Helpful efficient check in Staff gave us a free late check out till 2pm on the day of our check in upon our request which I was so happy about. Subsequently when we had to use the business centre to do a web check in for our flights they gave us a free 10 minutes usage and even printed our boarding pass for free. The only drawback is no free WIFI. I just don't understand why there are no free WIFI for the whole of Singapore. Whereas in Kuala Lumpur everywhere you will get free WIFI access. Nonetheless, this hotel is really good for any traveller. MRT is just a few minutes walk through the shopping mall connected to the hotel. There are Raffles and City link which connects to the hotel immediately or you could walk a little further to Marina Square for a bigger mall. Food choices are many to choose from just at basement level of the mall, there is a Buffet Town there, which have enormous spread and pretty reasonable price. Stay in this place if you want shopping yet not the usual crowd in orchard. I visit Singapore few times a year, used to stay in Orchard but now I prefer City Hall area. This hotel is wonderful.

High standard and comfortable hotel”

We spend our shortly family holiday in Singapore and select Swissotel The Stamford. The hotel is located at real down town of the city and with perfact window view. My room is at 65 floor so we almost can see whole Marina Bay. Hotel staff well trained and so nice to give all the help to us. The room is not as big as we imagine because we only take a standard room but still ok for a family. there is a free shuttle bus between hotel and Santosa island but only with foreigner passport.

Great location for business and tourists alike”

My stay at the Swissotel was very good. My family and I usually stay at Orchard whenever we are in Singapore but we decided to try something new for this trip. Swissotel's location is very good for business travelers and tourists alike. With an MRT station just steps away from the hotel, it is so convenient to get around Singapore. There are so many attractions that are within walking distance from Swissotel, and there is a plethora of dining options in the hotel, in the mall connected to the hotel and the many many malls and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is quite old but very well-maintained. The lobby is a bit messy and slightly confusing because the check-in/-out tables were not very clearly marked. The lobby is often so crowded that it doesn't give a cozy feeling. The check-in process was quite efficient and fast. The elevator area and corridors have a slight musky, "old" smell which I think can be improved by a more thorough vacuuming or carpet shampooing. Considering the age of the hotel, it's not bad. Our room is super spacious and great! It even has a balcony, which is rare in hotels. Overall, a great stay at Swissotel, with such reasonable price! I will return!

Bed possibilities”

In general it was good, but the bed is very hard especially for someone with a back problem. Contrary to general belief and doctors advice, had bed is NOT good for anybody and definitely not good for a person with back problem. There are hotels (even in Singapore!)with semi soft bed what makes a good night sleep luxuriously pleasant and that makes a different for your day whether you are there on business or just as a tourist. Because the SWISSOTEL THE STAMFORD HOTEL is a very good hotel, to change the bed (or at least have a choice to ask for a softer bad or a bed padding (IKEA!) would make it a GREAT hotel!!! (Like I loved the pillow-menu, when I could chose what kind of pillow I want!!! It was a great service,thank you!! So, think about the bed, and your hotel will be a great one!

The harbour view is really spectacular.”

I used to stay at this hotel when it was Westin Stamford. I was afraid it would be very old now. However, I was still very impressed with the Harbour View Rooms (on the 45th floor where I stayed). I stood there in the balcony during sunset magic hour. It still took my breath away to watch the scenery. The furniture and bathrooms are not new but it does not matter. The other things compensated for it. The services overall are excellent. They are better trained than those five star hotel staff in Shanghai or Beijing. The swimming pool was smaller than I remembered. It was a bit crowded and I did not like the fact they put floats to divide the circular pool into swimming lanes. It would work better as a circular tropical pool with free movements. The last night, I dined up on the 69th floor and got a window seat...what a place to be for dinner. Overall the new Stamford Swissotel lives up to the standards of my memories of Westin Stamford more than ten years ago.

ini adalah awal pertama kalinya kami menginap di swissotel the samford hotel singapore, dimana biasanya kami menginap di daerah orchard, namun setelah melihat info di agoda untuk harga kamar dan lokasi yang sangat strategis sekali, mau kemana2 dekat dengan station mrt dan mall rafless city, apalagi kalau mau jalan2 beli oleh2 tinggal ke bugis junction harga lebih murah dibandingkan belanja di sekitaran orchard , sampai di hotel sekitar jam 10pagi, kami melakukan check-in disambut dengan ramah sekali oleh reseptionist hotel, berhubung kamar belum ready kami harus menunggu sampai 1 jam sekitar jam 11 baru diperbolehkan untuk memasuki kamar hotel, dan kami pun diperbolehkan menitip tas koper dengan senang hati kami pun titip tas koper, sambil menunggu 1 jam kami pun beranjak ke raffles untuk sarapan di mcd kemudian persis di sebelah mcd ada starbucks lumayan bisa dapet wifi gratis sehingga bisa narik email dan update status setelah selesai sarapan kami pun kembali ke hotel, dan senang sekali kamar kami mendapatkan di lantai 20 dengan view marina bay , pengalaman pertama yang sangat menyenangkan menginap dihotel ini, ruangan kamar yang besar serta kamar mandi yang dilengkapi dengan bathtub dan lumayan luas untuk anak saya mandi serta berendam untuk menghilangkan lelah perjalan dari changi airport sampai ke hotel ini, so far selama menginap disini 3 hari 2malam, sangat memuaskan mau kemana2 tinggal ke mrt citihall dan jarak ke daerah lainpun sangat dekat, next apabila saya akan berlibur ke singapore saya akan menginap di hotel ini kembali love it! jangan lupa apabila anda membeli dari agoda, siapkan dana untuk deposit di hotel ini sebesar demikian ulasan dari saya semoga bermanfaat
