Review of stay at the President Hotel in Seoul, Ko”

For cleanliness, kind receptions of the hotel staff,and the location (which is perhaps the most important considerations), I would recommend to my friends in the U.S. as one of the most preferable places to stay, especially for those who are planning to stay more than a week. I have been using this hotel in the past several years and time and again I feel I have been satisfied for their wonderful services. I, for myself, shall keep on using this hotel, every year, the next year included. Let me take this opportunity to thank Agoda also, for their efficiency in accommodating me with the revised plans. I have requested certain adjustment in the hotel stay dates and I appreciate Agoda's expeditious handling of my requests for two such requests that come with the cash refunds. Location”

Though a bit old fashion，President Hotel is clean and well maintained. The room size is okay， the bathroom size is also acceptable， though the interior deco could be much improved. Location is perfect， within walking distance to the famous Myeong Dong shopping and restaurant area， also in between 2 subway stations each within 3 minute walking distance.

Location, Service, Value”

For the price, the hotel is good. It is right by an underground shopping centre which leads you to Euljiro-1-ga station or City Hall station. It's close by Myeong-dong (10-15 minute walk) so great for shopping, and Seoul station for travel using KTX Rail or Airport Rail. The room was clean and well kept, and staff was friendly and helped me with my very heavy and large bags. There is a cafe/bar on the first floor for quick breakfast or coffee (although a little pricy for drinks), food there is decent.

Impeccable front desk”

My daughter left her passport at a hotel in Pyeongchang snow resort just a day before departure to Spore but front desk staff Mitchelle and others discussed with me in the wee hours how President Hotel can help to retrieve the passport and we got it back, excellent. Location is good only 5mins walk to airport shuttle bus stand and 10mins to famous Myeondong night market. Those with children would enjoy the hotel spacious room size typically bigger than many others in Seoul.

Nice Winter Countdown in Seoul.”

We stayed at President Hotel during the new year. The Lobby look very nice but the room look not as nice as i imagine (for a 4 stars hotel) Staff is friendly with good English Skill. However, the minus points were that we book for a twin bedroom and instead we had double bed room. Despite its good location. The room is OK but not as impressive. For the Shopping Lovers, this is the best location tho with this budget price. it was so close to the shopping center (3 Lotte department stores next to plus the myeong dong and numdaemun market with in walking distance).

Terrific location, helpful staff”

I have stayed at the President on three visits to Seoul, and will continue to return. Some of the rooms are a tiny bit tired, and I am surprised by the lack of tea-making facilities in the rooms, but it's got an awesome location, accessible to public transportation and all the main sights of central Seoul (Insadong, the palaces, Myeon-dong shopping area, the art museum, Dongdaemun market, etc. Are all within a 15-minute walk) and the staff are very helpful.

Hotel President, Seoul - Good Location”

Our trip to Seoul was a short one that was the reason why we chose a hotel that is near to Myeong Dong Shopping area. Location - The hotel is located next to a subway and tube station - merely 100 metres of walk away. But the labyrinth of tunnel and walkway of the subway may need a bit getting used to since there is a lacking of English sign boards. Myeong Dong Shopping street (where the street bazaar comes alive at night) is about 500 metres away. Not too far but could be a bit of a walk in freezing temperature. Hotel Reception - We were quickly attended by the Front Desk though it was a peak period. We have booked for a twin room and the staff made sure that we were given one. The staff seems to be struggling to speak English, but nevertheless, we would considered them to be helpful and patient in trying to understand our needs. Room facilities - Sadly, there was a lack of kettle/water boiler in the room. Fittings and room carpets are a bit old and worn but we would consider them to be clean. Room temperature is a bit warm and we were not too sure how to control the central heating in the room. Two extra wool blankets were provided in the cupboard if you need them. These can come in very handy as Seoul's temperature was freezing (-4 to -10 degrees centigrade) while we were there. Overall, for the price of USD80 per night, we would say that the hotel is value for money in downtown Seoul.

good location, big room space”

view outside the window is the city hall plaza, so you can hear the voice outside (such as cars and someone singing...), but the volume is acceptable for me. room size is large, and the price is cheap compare with other hotels nearby. bed is too soft for me. also you can take kal bus (6701) to the lotte hotel stop and just 1 minute walk to president hotel. very convenient. overall still recommend!

Convenient Location”

accommodations were good and the staff was very friendly. it only took seconds for check-in and i was in my room in no time. convenient location, right across city hall and only a few blocks away from myeong-dong. metro is also right underneath the hotel. my room had a great view of deoksugung palace and the ice skating rink below. i stayed here for the 2010-2011 ney year's eve celebrations.

The Location Ever!”

the President Hotel location in the middle of the town, 2 minutes to Eljiro 1 station and 5 minutes to the city hall station. location in Myeongdong and beautiful place for shopping (etude, innisfree, nature republic, and many more). big room for standart room, good staff, and clean room. i will come back again when we are in Seoul for the next trip. Thanks.

Pleasant night's sleep”

Every cent I spent at the President was well worth it. The atmosphere is understatedly luxurious, the service excellent and friendly, the rooms had everything needed, with no noise from neighbors. One big plus: I was able to turn down the heating myself and open the window - both of which are often impossible in Korean hotels. The minibar had many useful items reasonably priced. Although I came in late and left early I felt refreshed and pampered rather than tired. Didn't try food, but breakfast menu looked very good. And when I left my favorite nightgown behind, they were very helpful and efficient in retrieving it!

Good Choice with Fair Price!!!”

honestly i was a bit worried when i read the pictures and comments on the pictures posted on agoda. after my personal experience, i really think i have made a correct choice. the location of president hotel is right besides lotte hotel (where costs you more than per night). the hotel is close to the airport bus stop and train station. the rooms are renovated and beds are comfy, the setting is not as outdated as shown in the picture. the tv is changed to a samsung lcd. wifi is not available in the room but you can use the 2 pcs in their business center or connect wifi at there. even you want to use the printer, they won't charge you for the color print-out. but remember to bring your own boiler for hot water and tooth brush/toothpaste/shampoo/bath lotion/etc. overall i was very satisfied with the president hotel.

Great Location Right Next to Subway and Lotte Mall”

being used to Westin Chosun, I thought I'd try out President Hotel since it is just right behind Westin and even though it is not as posh, the hotel location was great and I was able to get about easily. Only drawback is that it does not have wifi in the room and only in the lobby. The staff were very nice and accommodated to all my requests (e.g. getting me a baby crib, travel adaptor etc)

Football mania”

I flew to Seoul for the day just to watch the football outside of city hall, the president park was the closest hotel. I got there at 8am, they gave me an early check in without any problem, delivered plug adaptors to my door no worries, no hassles, fast and easy. The room was ok, nothing fancy but not shabby in any way, my only complaint is the air conditioning was bloody freezing.

Great location”

President Hotel is undoubtedly a five star hotel with its best rating environment and strategic location. Moreover, service provided is simply satisfactory and customer's request were attended promptly. We will definitely recommend this hotel for those who are planning to visit Seoul in the near future. 4 Star Hotel with 5 Star location and serivce”

Good location. Room is big enough for two. 5 minutes walking to Myeong-dong Street, 10-minutes to Namdaemun Market and 12-minutes to Insadong. There is a Subway line 202 next to the Hotel entrance. Room service are fast and patient. We asked for many items such as adaptor, free internet, extra pillow, high floor, corner room, electric kettle etc. all get fulfilled. The room rate is very cheap as compare to the next door 5 Star rates. We would certainly re-visit next time.

Decent hotel right next to Lotte Myeong-dong”

Location is very convenient, right on the left of hotel you can go to subway station, on the right there's lotte myeong-dong. Just walk further down and you will reach myeong-dong streets with all the cosmeticshops and food etc. Hotel room heater is sometimes too warm, and the room service staffs are not exactly friendly. If that doesn't bother you much, then I think this is hotel is pretty much recommended.

President 2608”

The hotel was very good in terms of situation on teh very center of Seoul and also the price we paid was very reasonable according to the standard of the hotel. The room was big and comfortable. The only thing to review is the possibility to give toilet stuff such as shampoo.

Location is good”

Location is good as its just 2 minutes walk to Lotte departmental store and about 7 minutes walk to Myeong Dong Street. The best thing is the hotel exit area had an underpass that links between City hall station (blue line) and Eujilro 1-ga station (green line). It's very convenient. Staffs are helpful and friendly. Hotel lobby seems to be very luxury but the rooms are quite old. Nonetheless, everything is working fine. I was staying in a room facing the Seoul Plaza and its a little noisy early in the morning. Had a satisfactory stay!

great hotel ”

In contrary to other reviews, our stay at the President Hotel is nothing but smooth... the airport bus no, 6701, is just about 50 meters away from the hotel... (it stops at Lotte Hotel) which is just beside President...very convenient... there is a valet staff at the door who helped us into the steps with our luggage (the bell boys main job seems to be is tending the left luggage facility). We arrived early at 7.30am and despite our request during booking of early check-in, we are not facilitated, which is understandable if there was no room available, and I was told pleasantly that we should again check in at 12pm, we left our luggage and had a walk about in the neighboring City Hall and Deuksugung Palace and had a bite to eat, went back to the hotel at about 11am and they let us check in a bit early, which was amazing after having a night flight. We stayed at 27 floor, which is very clean, very quiet, there is toiletries provided, fresh robes, although the furnitures a bit tired looking (specially the carpet), but tea (no coffee) facilities is provided, 1 bottled water everyday... theres a bath tub, but it is a bit worn out looking, so didn't bothered to have a bath and used the shower instead. Location is great, smack in the center of the town...walking distance to the palaces (though we took taxi about W4,500), Myeongdong and Namdaemun night market for cheap knick-knacks, Lotte Mall for more top of the range brand is just in the neighbourhood....metro is about 100 meters away... Seoul Tower is not so far (though not walking distance)... many small good priced restaurants nearby. Front desk, not overly friendly but pleasant, housekeeping when asked with adaptor, turned up within 2 minutes, the valet helped us with hailing and saying taxi drivers our destinations, left luggage facility is brilliant, LOCATION VERY SAFE, there is also a bank at the 2nd floor for currency exchange, only one thing, no in-room wifi, only at the lobby...but will surely stay
