Perfect location with generous rooms”
I have stayed at Hotel Sunshine several times, and I figured it's time to write a review. This is my hotel of choice mainly because of the location, room size, and cost. The location is perfect for me because I love Sinsa-dong/Apgujeong, and the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the lovely street Garosugil. There are also many buses along the main street in front of the hotel, which can take you to the other side of the river as well as to more Gangnam hotspots. The rooms are always clean and properly stocked when I stay. The bed is very comfortable and the wi-fi and shower are strong. The walls can seem a bit thin at times, but that's not a deal-breaker. The cost for the room is very reasonable, especially for the area and the size of the room. My only issue is that the staff seem to harried when dealing with guests--not rude, per se, but...terse.

100% Fantastic!”
I can not say enough wonderful things about Sunshine Hotel! I stayed there during a medical hiatus and the staff was wonderful! If I needed anything at all Jason, the concierge, or the front desk staff was happy to bring it to my room for me! Always smiling and very friendly every time! The Housekeeping staff was phenomenal! Even if I didn’t need my room serviced, they were always kind enough to ask if I would like some more water bottles. One even noticed that I drink a lot of water, and she always went out of her way to give me extra water! I encountered nothing but smiles and bows, friendliness and politeness. And, while the room was much smaller than I am used to by American standards, it was perfect for one person (I had one double bed). It was spotlessly clean, much cleaner than American hotels, in my opinion. Slippers and robes and even a Safe in the room were provided. My experience in Korea is that nothing is ever stolen, unlike the United States. It is perfect!!

Great value, big rooms”
i got a good deal on a room at the sunshine and was delighted at the large size of the room/bathroom. granted, the location is not as central to gangnam as some other hotels, but it's only a 7-minute walk to a metro stop. tried to book a room here several other times but never found a good enough deal; i guess i lucked out.

I'd read some bad reviews about this hotel but thankfully the more recent ones were positive so I decided to give it a go. I wasn't disappointed. It was about a 10 minute walk from Apgujeong subway station, straight up the street from exit 3. No worries about having to find a non-existent signpost for a side street as it's clearly visible on the left hand side just before the first major junction. The reception was marble, looking respectable and clean. Friendly and English speaking staff made checking in easy. I had a double room and the bed was the most comfortable I've had in a hotel. The room was clean and of a decent size, equipped with a large, wall-mounted TV. Oddly though the shower room was fitted with a window/blind combination rather than a dividing wall so if the blind is not pulled down anybody in the bedroom can see what happens in the bathroom. Great for those with small children and for those who don't want to miss a minute of a sporting event! It's about a 5/10 minute taxi ride to Gangnam metro station, costing between 4 and 5000 won. I didn't see any of the seedy goings on that were referred to in other reviews, but if it is true then at least the place is well-known to taxi drivers. I had no problem in taking a taxi to the hotel from Gangnam.

the sunshine hotel was a wonderful place to stay. located in shinsa-dong, the hotel was perfectly located for shopping, and eating out at interesting restaurants. the cost of the hotel seemed reasonable for the type of room that we had. although a little small, it was perfect for two people with a lovely bathroom and a very comfortable bed. the staff were very accommodating. i had brought a bottle of champagne and they happily brought up an ice bucket for us to chill it as the fridge was too small. overall, we were very happy with the stay.

A great value for money hotel”
This was my first trip to Seoul and I booked two different hotels at different locations (but at similar pricing). This hotel was definitely the better (actually much better) one in term of room comfort and staff hellpfulness. The staff was friednly and could speak English well enough to answer any inquiries you help on directions, attraction.. They were helpful and proficient as well. Not sure what got into me but I booked the date wrongly (1 week later than my arrival) and was so panic upon my arrival. They tried to calm me down and checked for empty room for me, then let me check in to rest immediately without any fuss (believed me you dont have this everywhere). It was the nicest experience I had in Seoul. The hotel looked a bit old from the outside so i was a bit skeptical at first. However, the room was clean with new modern-designed furniture (writing table and chair, alarm clock, arm chair, flat LCD TV); bathrom was also very clean with new-looking bathtub (sitting type). It's abt 20min walk to Apgujong station. From there you can get to the centre (Myongdong, Cityhall, Namsan..) easily (5-6stations)

A Gem in a Great Location”
I booked Hotel Sunshine for my visiting parents based on the recommendation of a friend. I was so pleased! The location was perfect as it is close to my home, but it is also conveniently located near several subway and bus stops, a good shopping and restaurant district, and also close to the Han River park. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff (especially Jason) was so very nice and helpful, both in terms of answering questions and providing service when we needed it, but also by offering assistance and information about the area. I definitely recommend it!

Good location”
my friend and i stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. we were given a room on the 5th floor. quiet and clean, furnishings looked pretty new. free lan line. note that you have to pay a little extra to get two separate beds. cab fare from airport to hotel was about , make sure you do not take the black 'luxury' taxis as they are very very expensive. the staff were very courteous and rather friendly, and were able to speak english. my friend and i found the air very dry, and the hotel provided a humidifier for the length of our stay. we were very impressed. apart from that, we had a water dispenser right outside our door, which made it very convenient when we needed refills of water. travel adaptors are provided but you have to place a refundable deposit of krw 10,000. walking distance to apu-jeong station, and hyundai shopping center. short train ride to myeong-dong shopping district. if you prefer to take a taxi, it will cost around krw 7,000 to krw 8,000 to get to myeong-dong, and dongdaemun. there are loads of restaurants around the area, but you'll need to do a little bit of exploring. the hotel is located very near to the cosmetic surgery district, about 5 minutes walk. recommended for tourists looking to get cosmetic work done. check out time is 1pm, but they allowed us to stay until 2pm. all in all a great hotel, for the price we paid, the hotel exceeded our expectations.

I didn't miss a thing”
The room had everything one could expect. I was especially impressed with the toilet and shower, both featuring extensive technological features for a variety of needs. The in-house dining facilities offered food for any taste and were reasonably priced. The hotel is located very conveniently, making it easy to reach any point in Seoul by taxi or train in a short amount of time. A most welcome plus was a small kiosk located right across the street, in case one needed to buy something at short notice.

Loved the location, hopefully you are a smoker”
this hotel is not bad for seoul (seoul really has on average the worst hotels in the world). it's clean. the receptionists and staff were all very professional. when we were deciding between this hotel and another cheaper guesthouse sort of place, we picked this hotel deliberately because of the sauna. i am a early bird while my husband sleeps late so we thought i could relax in the sauna while he catches up on some sleep. turns out there is only a sauna for men. the main reason why we won't stay here again is because of the smoking policy. all the rooms are smoking rooms and you can tell. i woke up half-way through my sleep having a nightmare about a smoke-filled bar - true story.

hotel that is value for money”
i travelled with my wife to seoul and stayed at sunshine for 6 nights. the rooms are well furnished, with everything you'll need. there is a convenience store just opposite so you can get everything you need. the hotel staff is polite and can understand simple english. they are also able to book the bus tickets to the airport.

Great for the money”
because this hotel is connected to a very well known night club (boss), the rooms on floors 2 and 3 are generally used for one-night couplings. so when getting a room here, make sure to ask for a room on the fourth floor or higher. there are very few perks here. however, any deficit is bearable when considering the perfect location. of course, how great a location is depends on what you plan on doing during your visit. if the answer is party or shop high end stores then this hotel is in the best area. on a side note, don't be disturbed by all the guests in the hotel that have facial coverings. this area has the highest concentration of plastic surgeons in seoul, so a lot of people get rooms here in order to rest up after some cosmetic surgery.

i tried to call and the phone has an automatic ans in korean language, the hotel operator sent a colleauge up to my room to help. also this hotel staff on my behalf send a sms to my friend phone as the call cannot go through . the room is clean and nicely furnish. highly recommend for both business and family vacation . i definitely will stay there again next time go to seoul.

This hotel is cheap and nicely located in Gangnam-gu, the staff is discrete but very professional, they serve excellent Japanese breakfasts and Jujube teas. Rooms are Ok - clean and not so small.

Conveniently located hotel and a helpful staff”
All in all, I was very happy with my stay at Sunshine hotel. The location is very nice, located within walking distance of the subway and cafes everywhere. I was very happy with my stay. However, be prepared, Apgujeong is a renowned plastic surgery area, don't be surprised if someone comes around the corner with bandages on her/his face. There's also a nightclub right outside the hotel, very cool.
