Lovely hotel, perfect location & service”

we visited early bed and breakfast the 1st week of july. it was a fantastic hotel to stay in. it was conveniently located somewhat in the middle of the old city/town. we loved the b&b for its cleanliness and it was really cosy. the place was obviously done by someone who payed close attention to the smallest details. loved the different bird themed rooms! the b&b had a wide range of dvds we could borrow(for free) to watch in our rooms on our own flat screen tvs if we were bored! there were no bugs around. except for the mosquitoes but that's a problem around chiang mai. strangely we didn't get bitten, so we were ok with that. coming from a tropical country we are used to annoying mosquitoes;) the ladies at the reception provided us with all the info we needed and had soooooo many brochures. so if you have no idea what to do in chiang mai, you can let the ladies and the brochures guide you. all in all we absolutely loved them! they were really friendly and helpful and they spoke really good english! we rented a scooter for a day for 250bhat and it was so wonderful getting around chiang mai. the traffic wasnt as bad as bangkok's. we kept getting lost because the map didnt list alot of small roads and alleys, so we kept turning into the wrong lanes. but that's the fun of it. we always looked out for the mini cooper (that still works but is used for decoration purposes) parked at the front of early bed and breakfast. we were pleasantly surprised to learn that our s$45/night room actually included breakfast. and the breakfast was sooo good. we could choose from 6 dishes(if i remember correctly). 3 western and 3 thai dishes. and it came with a drink (tea, coffee or coconut) and a plate of fruit. we requested for an additional fruit on the second day and they gave it to us at no extra charge! and they have a free flow of bananas 24/7. overall we truly enjoyed our stay at early bird bed and breakfast.they were so generous and friendly.and it felt just l

Great Location and Clean Cozy Room”

stayed here for 5days, i will highly recommended this cozy, clean and great location, and especially the both beautiful owners are friendly, helpful, they will do the best for you that for your needed!! the location just opposite the wat chendi luang, if you take the tuk-tuk or the red car, they wouldn't know early bird b & b, but you just say wat chendi luang, sure they will know it!! so dun worry about the transportation from here or there. total only 9 rooms in this guesthouse, it's very cozy and you seem like stay in a big bungalow house, when we are out for a trip everyday, it's was feel so comfortable that back to our own house. room are clean, bed is comfortable, the important things is no bed bugs at all, bathroom are clean and the water heater pressure very good!! in-room got wi-fi router, dvd player as u can borrow the dvd from them!! the breakfast was great, only few choices, but it's really enough, coz the portion is huge and u can full up untill mid-afternoon. if i back to chiang mai again, i'm sure will choose early bird b & b again. it's worth to stay here instead of the hotel.

My husband and I visited Chiang Mai specifically to see the elephants. We wanted to stay somewhere inexpensive, yet clean and in a good location. Early Bird is absolutely that! This bed and breakfast only has a few rooms, all of which are bird themed. It has the basic amenities that most travelers are looking for (bed, shower, toilet, tv). What made our stay so great was the staff. They are there around the clock and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay! We had to be up at 4 am to fly out and they packed us breakfast to take on the road so we wouldn't be hungry. Their always smiling and made us feel so welcome. I would absolutely stay at Early Bird again and would recommend it to anyone considering! For the nightly price, you can't beat it!!

great b&b, friendly staff, good location, dvds”

we stayed at early bird for two nights and would have stayed longer if they had had availability. the rooms were large, clean, with good bathrooms with working showers. the rooms are decorated in a bird theme which makes a nice change. there's a tv in each room with a dvd player and a huge collection of dvds to borrow in the foyer for free. they also lend you electric bug zappers in case of any stray mosquitos. not very necessary though as all windows had mosquito screens over them. the staff were really friendly and helpful. they helped us book a few tours, organise the rental of a motorbike and when they had no more availability they recommended and booked us in to another very nice guesthouse a few roads away for the same price (gord chiang mai). the breakfast was really good with lots of choice. they had lots of information about day trips and tours at the reception which we found really useful for planning our week in chiang mai. location is good for getting to some of the best temples in the area and also very close to the sunday walking street night market. would definitely stay here again.

Super lovely bed and breakfast! ”

Early Bird was my 1st experience to stay at a Bed & Breakfast and it leave a very good impression! The owner of this B&B was very nice and helpful, they really give useful informations of where to go and how to get there. The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. One minus point maybe the bathroom, it was clean and neat but a bit small. The breakfast was super delicious, the owner will give you some options of breakfast you wanna have, about 5 or 6 dishes to choose. Another pluses are they offer free dvd rental with hundreds of movie to choose and they offer free bananas as snacks whenever you're hungry. It was well located too at the heart of Chiang Mai old city, everything you need is easy to reach from this B&B.

Great hotel with unique design and nice breakfast”

this is one of the best bed and breakfast in chiang mai old city! the rooms are decorated with different theme of bird species, they even have tv and dvd player with an array of dvd library at the lobby for you to choose from. the owners are so pretty and friendly and they speak very good english! we like the breakfast as there are plenty of choices and they cook what you like. heart-warming and tasty. also in great location, in the heart of the old city, within walking distance you can reach two of the most famous temples.

friendly place, good location”

Hard to find initially, don't use the address, no taxi driver knows the name of roads, but say Wat Chedi in the old city. It is opposite the entrance, next to 3 Sis hotel. The room was nice, quite big, a bit bare, bathroom small and a bit on the ergonomically challenged side. One thing is that the hot water heater in the shower didn't heat the water. Nice touches here, good breakfast, fruit and drinks availalble. Lots of movies to watch. But no real facilities, just a room with a tv and bathroom. No where to just hang out. I ended up moving to a cheaper place down the road because it had the same kind of thing. No facilities and no breakfast but half the price. Early birds is a great place to stay for a few days, but if you want a pool, restaurant, cafe etc... then go somewhere else. SAying that, just around the corner are fantastic places to eat and hang out.

We had great time when stayed at Early Bird. The staff especially Monnie, Nana and Omma were helpful, provide useful information and advise for our motorbike route and attraction points. They have warm smile and treat us like good friends! The Hotel is super clean with comfortable pillows and bed. The location is good and restaurants just within walking distance. We enjoyed the breakfast(western and local thai food) and environment every morning before we start our activities in Chiang Mai!!

Lovely guest house with Generous hospitality”

early bird locates just opposite to the wat chedi lung temple, almost in the center of old city. beds are all king size bed, very comfortable. we had different kind of breakfasts, thai noodle soup, american breakfast, all of them are so good. last but not the least, the staff are so nice and helpful. a microcosm of the best of chiangmai, nice,clean,hospitality. strongly recommended to stay there if you go to chiangmai! you gonna love the bed &. breakfast of ealry bird, trust me

Early Bird Bed & Breakfast”

Early Bird B&B is really the most wonderful hostel in my traveling experience. It locates just in front of Wat Chedi Luang, and really, it just needs 30 seconds to get the weekend market as the receptionist said! The breakfast is wonderful, room is clean and unique, also you can browse hundreds of DVD in free if you want to spend whole day in room (but that's too pity!). Overall, I will definitely choose Earl Bird again as visiting Chiang Mai!!!!

Lovely, cozy hotel and service with smile”

(1) 1st night, i stayed on the 1st floor, room #2 - parrot. wanted to stay on 2nd floor (based on reviews from tripadvisor, it said 1st floor near the living room, could be a bit noisy. review was proven right. there were families of about 4-5 people, having supper and chit chat in the living room, but i could hear them in my room) room was clean, but there were many mosquitoes. however, mosquitoes electric shocker (something like a racquet) was provided. you can take one with you to the room. suggested by the front desk attendants not to open windows to prevent mosquitoes from gettin into the room. (2) 2nd night, moved to 2nd floor, room #5 - magpie. less spacious compared to room #2, parquet floor. more mosquitoes compared to 1st floor. room n bathroom were very clean. in both rooms, no wardrobe, instead long table is provided. find the long table very usefull, if you like to place your things everywhere like me. (3) there are notebooks where you can write some comments bout your stay, and you could read comments from other travelers as well. i noted someone mentioned bout getting mosquito nets for the rooms, since one may want to feel the fresh air instead of using aircon. (*****) on the day i checked out, they really got mosquito nets and will install them to the rooms. they really listen to what customers want. a very recommended b&b in chiang mai, it's worth the price. you can also check out their website, just google it.

Best stay in Chiang Mai”

Early Bird is few steps away from Wat Chedi Luang, practically dead center in the old town area. The rooms were clean, comfortable and honestly incredible value for money. On top of it all, the staff were amazing friendly and helpful. Also they had a strong wifi signal and I loved the common area design where you can relax and read a book. There were so many positives I don’t know which to emphasize more. I’ll definitely return when I’m in Chiang Mai!

this is my 3rd time to travel in chiangmai but my 1st time at early bird bb. i really like to recommend this place !!! long time that i was looking for hotel/home stay/ or wherever... that i can stay with high of comfortable + happiness + peaceful and joyful ! early bird is the solution for my chiangmai trip. - very convenience location (in the area of sunday walking street) - i can go to many of wellknown temples from this place (very easy) - public transportation (especially red bus) know this area very well, i felt of right decision making ! no need to explain much to driver - i don't want to call them as hotel staffs, it should be better to set early bird as my chiangmai trip partner : they helped me a lot with good suggestion of interesting places to visit (like one stop service !) ... let this place in your top rank if you have plan to chiangmai and you will never feel of disappointing to choose early bird as i was ! -

Early Bird was located right in the old city near a popular Wat so all the taxi's knew where it was making it very easy to get back to. The staff spoke very good English and were more then helpful planning daily activities and giving good advice on what to see when. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable and the breakfasts were very good.

excellent place to stay in chiang mai”

we really enjoyed our stay at the early bird and would recommend it to friends and family. the staff are super nice, the location in the old city is convenient and the rooms are comfortable. the breakfast is also really good, especially the thai options. mosquitoes were not a problem but we liked that they supplied electric bug rackets. our only complaint would be that it can be a bit noisy if people talk in the hallway, but overall it was our favorite placed that we stayed in thailand.

Wonderful boutique hotel”

We were pleased with the room and it was much better than we expected. First, there is a very big LCD TV, like 60 inches. Then, there is a also a piano in the room, the room is clean, spacious and comfortable with very cozy feel. Secondly, the staffs are all very friendly and helpful, we booked a trip to night safari through the receptions and we actually forgotten about it, we went to the chiang rai for a day trip and we missed the night safari! Usually, in such a case, we will need to pay in full amount for the booking, but the staff helped us to bargain and they managed to get it cancelled with no/zero charges. The restaurant Good View recommended by the hotel staff was very nice too, we enjoyed our dinner at the river side with some band performing, it is really wonderful. Last but not least, the location, it's very nearby to a 7-11 shop within 2 mins walking distance, there are also lot of "song thiao@the red bus" or "tuk-tuk" around, so it's rather convenience to travel around the city. There is also the first temple in Chiang Mai within walking distance, lots of temples around as well to explore around. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in ChiangMai and hope to return soon :)

Great guesthouse in perfect location”

If you want to stay in the old city. This is the place to go. I've been to Chiang Mai a few times but this guesthouse is my favorite. It's close to the Sunday market (100m). The staff is super friendly. The rooms are big and the design is not overvelming, like in many guesthouses I've been. It's well planned for the comfort. Even the breakfast was great, what I actually didn't expect. You can choose between 5 different dishes on a picture card and it's delicious.

Amazing find with great service and great staff”

This was definitely a great find for such a great price ~ the guesthouse was right in the middle of the Old City, a short walk away from many different sights, shops and restaurants. The rooms were lovely and clean, with each room decorated in a different bird theme. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly, and offered restaurant recommendations. They helped us rent a motorbike for the day, served amazing breakfasts, and had DVDs available for us to borrow and watch in our room. Amazing!

Great location”

my boyfriend and i really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. it was very comfortable and had a great location in the old city. it was only a 120 bhat cab ride from the hotel. breakfast was included with our stay, and we had many choices between thai and western food. the staff was very helpful when we wanted to book a tour outside of chiang mai. also, they had dvd players in each room, with hundreds of dvds to choose from. the only negative i can think of is that the front entrance is open all day, and there are lots of mosquitoes inside. however, they have electric bug swatters to use.

Cannot recommend highly enough!”

Service at this hotel is very personal. The the girls who run the place take the trouble to learn your fist name, and will answer all your questions, or just strike up a conversation. The room itself was large enough, and really matched the b&b's theme. All rooms are bird-themed! Aircon worked fine, free bottled water was provided and the bed was comfy! There's some 5 options for breakfast, both Thai & western. All delicious, and all very filling. One morning we would be leaving in the early morning for a trek, so they prepared packed sandwiches for us. A very nice touch!
