Weekday trip to Chaing Khan”

We read about Chiang Khan walking street and read multiple reviews pros and cons. We settle on a place with Mekong river view close to walking street that has old Chiang Khan charm. Tao Kae Lao delivered. It is a cross between a hotel and airbnb. The owner greeted us like a friend and gave us as much or as little info as we needed. The room is spotless. The place is charming. Amenities on par with 2.5 star hotel. 150m west of Wat Sri Chiang Khan so you can get good night sleep before 11pm. Tao Kae Lao won't suit everyone but should suit most 30-50yo couples.

Best place to getaway.”

Experienced the warmest welcome ever! I feel just like home but with a much better surrounding, quiet yet lively. The owner is super nice and helpful. The shared bathroom and toilet could cause some hesitation but three-day vacation at this place had confirmed that I made the right decision staying here. The cleanliness of bathrooms and toilets is beyond expectation. A short distance to the walking street and far enough to have peaceful and relaxing moment when I needed it. I'd stayed in upstairs riverview room and it was divine waking up to the scene of sunrise over the river (and honestly I'm not a morning person but couldn't resist the breathtaking view). Even it was rainy season when I was there, I still very much enjoyed my visit. There are bikes for rental provided if you need as well. Totally recommend this place if anyone ever wish to come to Chiangkarn. My next stay would definitely be with Tao Kae Lao again if vacant. :)

Happy guest house”

it was my first time with tao kae lao so, i expected nothing only cleaned room. but when i got there i totally love the atmosphere of the hotel, it's small but chic for me. i booked the city view room but they upgraded and i moved to the garage room (this one is more expensive than the old one). my room was clean, cleaned bathroom, many bottles of water, and the most important thing the owner of this place they are really nice that made me feel like my own home. i'm impressed if i have a chance to visit this province i will never miss to stay this hotel again for sure... ;)

enjoyed our 2 nights stay at tao kae lao. the friendly young couple owner goes all out to serve us during our leisure 2 nights stay there including arranging for a half day tour around chiangkhan as well as ferrying us to buy bus tickets back to bangkok! great service!

great guesthouse with character”

Highly recommend Tao Kae Lao. Rooms are simple but thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and have everything you need. Lovely view of the river. The shared bathroom were not an issue at all. Was handy being next door to them though (I stayed downstairs). Owners were very welcoming and helped me arranged trips and transport etc.

Very convenient at a better location than most”

Both exterior and interior designs are very unique, it combines well with Chiang Khan identity. The room ia quite spacious as well as the bath room. The smell is sooo clean and it is indeed clean. I even asked the owner of what kind of breching liquid they're using. Everything in the room are well equipped with simplicity and necessity. What they offer are so generous, free bike for in-house guest, unlimited high-quality coffee, unlimited noodle cups, unlimited snacks and well-prepared complimentary breakfast. All aforementioned are FREE of charge. They also charge the minimal amount for soft drinks and liquors. The price we paid is exactly the same with the price you will be paying at 7-Eleven. Comparing what we paid and what we got, I will definitely revisit this guest house. The two owners are very helpful and friendly. They even offered a free bike, despite the fact that I had already checked out. The only down side of this place is their blanket is too small.

Great inexpensive little place”

This is a great little place. It is cheap to stay here, but the room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. There was free water for the room, a great view of the Mekong, and right on a path that follows the river. There are plenty of restaurants around and it is in a great location, while still being quiet, and just outside the main part of town. There are a variety of room types. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The only downside, is that no room has it's own bathroom, but if you are able to deal with that, it is a great place to stay.

The location is the best which you can enjoy the Kekong river view from the room terrace. It is not too far from Chiang Khan night market and local morning morning which you can easily find yummy local food for breakfast for a cheap price. Since it is not in the middle of business street so, you can find a quiet moment here at the guest house. For active travelers, you can enjoy morning jogging, bicycling along the river to Phu Thok for a sunrise.

Friendly, Tranquil and unique”

The owner is friendly and helpful. The room is above my expectation, it is an old wooden house which has been renovated, inside the room has every amenities provided, especially a comfort futon for a nice sleep. The hotel also provides some self-service complimentary foods too. All in all the place is unique and charming, really recommended!

Excellent experinces at Tao Kae Lao and Chiang Khan”

Very good view from our room, seeing Khong river. Room is very clean. Car parking is close to the hotel. Hotel owner/staff is very nice. Good take care and polite. Breakfast is easy and simple but excellent (Great coffee, good bread, several choices of jams).

Artsy, yet not with any artistic yoke”

It was much better than expected. It was initially hard to find the location but once that is sorted, i was happy with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The hotel is also a shop and has many interesting items. The room is at the back of the shop with a wonderful view of the Mekong. What i loved is the nice smell in the room that shows that the location is washed and cleaned nicely. The whole place is made out of wood and there is aircon if it became more humid and hot. And lastly, i had super nice dinner (recommendation of the hotel staff) and was fetch back in the back of the bike to the bus station. THe location is away from the main areas so there is more privacy.

Peaceful and comfortable ”

They are beyond my expectation. I was stay at twin bedroom river view. , the room is quit big but it was comfy. They were taking care me very well since i was arrival with full of informations. room was cleaned properly, full of amenities. They also provide coffee/cocoa, bread, instant noodle and free of bicycle whenever you need by yourself. I can feel like staying at home. So, I do recommend this place for a couple or solo traveler. Good cozy B&B hotel with right location and basic amenities”

The location is just next to the entrance of the Walking Street which offers you both convenient access and privacy at the same time. On the balcony you can enjoy a river view with a gated access to the riverside pathway. The amenities are what you can expect from this kind of B&B. No television but a shared refrigerator is provided. Two bicycles are available free of charge but subjected to availability. You can ride them along the bike lane, which is safe, around the neighborhood or further to Kang Khud Koo (4 miles/6.5 km). Recommendation 1. The Walking Street starts at 5pm on a daily basis, offering local eateries along with souvenirs at a budget price. 2. Morning alms (food offering for monks) starts around 6.00am when people (99% tourists) sit on the street to pay respect and offer foods to Buddhist monks.

Feel like stay at grandma home 20 years ago”

Recommend for this home stay that gives you feel relax and sensation of ordinary home in 90’s style. I stayed at 2nd floor with river view was spectacular view and perfect atmosphere. No TV but replace by big window to see better TV, no breakfast but substitute by quality coffee and bread

great location/ room and service”

the owner showed us the place and facility before we check in and it's pretty impressive of the selection they have offered as complimentary (as per guesthouse standard). I have got the room with the river view where i can have my own 2 exit door from my room. the location is quiet yet not far from walking street where you could walk at night.

Nice cozy lovely place!”

They are not with many rooms and I could not stay river view room because of fully booking, but I really liked their room size. It was big enough for a couple with a young child though sharp stairs are not good for our naughty kid. They have a garage decorated room with a mini bus installed as a bed in the room, and this is where I want to try to sleep for my next visit here.

Service , Location and Design”

I had found this hotel in agoda web page and i feel like love at 1st sight.Until meet in the real it's too great and wonderful design inside this room I was stay my kid also very happy to be here in 3 days 2 nights

Very good”

The room was good with river view and can be accessed both front door and back door. The view was great and I liked sitting at the window and enjoyed the breeze and the scenery. The staff was also really nice and she was not always at the counter, so if you had any questions, you could ask when checking in or called her. An awesome stay in Chiang Khan!
