me and my family wanted to say thank you once again to the staff of Mod Guesthouse super helpful greated you with a smile.so sorry we forgot to asked the name of the old man staff in there or maybe the owner who patiently drove us around Hua hin tourist spots,we are so happy and contented.thank you and for the receptionists thank you the truth was i saw this hotel when we are planning to have a short vacation in Hua hin for december 5 and i saw this hotel but i did not booked it instead i book another hotel far from the city who never let us checked in early so me and my family decided to book another hotel so right there and then i looked for hotels online and i found Mod guesthouse and only couple of minutes we are infront of the receptionist 10am,i just showed my online booking then she let us checked in.. thank you so much i will sure recommend this hotel, GOOD VIEW GOOD/HELPFUL STAFF. surely we will book again to this hotel.

If in Hua Hin, always Mod Guesthouse”

This is my 5th stay here, this time with my parents. I tried many other accomodations in Hua Hin, I think Mod Guesthouse give you the best value for your money. We just used it as a base for trips in the area, so basically for sleeping at night and it fulfilled our needs perfectly. The rooms are okay and the location is central on the beach and right next to the Hilton. Rooms are in good shape, clean and have everything you need. Due to the construction from mostly wood and the ocean below some rooms it could be a bit noisy but I used earplugs so no problem for me. If you are looking for a proper hotel with pool, restaurant, etc you are wrong here. But if you want a budget stay in central location, this is the right place for you.

The staffs are so friendly and the location is strategic. You can spend your time at the beach. The hotel is near at hua hin night market and chatsila market. It’s also not so far if you want to go to hua hin market village. I give 5 star.

What we like best about Hua Hin”

The lovely thing about Hua Hin, is this collection of budget hotels over the water in the heart of the city and right beside the high priced Hilton. The Mod is one of the best of the bunch, clean, convenient and a great price, even during high season. We love it there.

A good stay”

I have often looked at booking the Mod Guesthouse, with two adults and two 9 yr old boys the rooms seamed to be a little small. However with my usual choice booked up I decided to take the plunge. The room was actually okay for us all comfortably and the staff were as accommodating as could be expected. They helped arrange a great day out visiting many of the tourist attractions for a very reasonable price. We also hired two motorcycles for a full 24hrs which were very welcome for getting around to some closer attractions. Location is key and the Mod guesthouse has a very good location, great for the beach, restaurants and shopping too. I will be looking at booking with them again in the near future. Thank you :0))

close to the night market and nightlife”

The Mod Guesthouse is a basic guesthouse right on the sea not far from the "nightlife" surrounding the Hilton in "downtown" Hua Hin. I have stayed here many times. You can hear the water underneath the guesthouse (at least from some of the rooms). Rooms are very basic, staff are friendly, and it is a great location.

Decent hotel with great location”

Great location near the beach and a lot of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The wifi was very good, but room stanards was a bit low otherwise. No safe box, no refrigerator, and poor sound isolation. Aside from this though, it is not a bad hotel and I recommend it for shorter stays in Hua Hin.

Great location, economical stay. ”

It’s was a decent 2-night stay for us. The guesthouse is on a jetty extending over the water. Our room was really tiny with just small clearance to walk around the bed and didn’t have any view to the sky. This was ok because we used it mainly for sleeping at night. The free WIFI was really annoying for it required a relog in every time we unlocked the phone. It was to the point where we eventually memorized the login info. The connection speed was often very slow. Overall, we really liked the location. A few min walk to the Hua Hin beach allowed us to enjoy a very beautiful sunrise in the morning. The famous Jek Pia restaurant was only about 5-6 min walk. The night matket was about 1km away.

A Good Place for a Couple of Nights”

Friendly staff willing to serve.....the hotel itself is older but well painted and maintained....close to dining and right on the beach....rooms are small so 2 people max it the best fit.....parking is a problem if you drive a car as it is throughout Hua Hin especially on weekends....motorbikes are available right at the hotel.....staff is pleasant and accommodating.....great food not far away at the Onn Onn Cafe.....higher $ food directly on the beach for seafood....we enjoyed our stay.....

Sleeping on the sea waves”

Been here a few times..room small but ok for the value..many sea side restaurants close by. Beach in short walking distance taking the short cut by the Chinise temple in front of Hilton hotel. sunrise on the guesthouse pier really nice. i ll be back.

Basic but ok”

hua hin is a nice place with a small night scene, well worth a visit. hotel rooms very basic but bedding clean and working shower. we only stayed for one night and it was ok. however no parking in vicinity. ( we were driving down from bangkok to phuket over several days to view souther thailand )

Reccomend for to stay”

My stay was ok. My first time at Hua-Hin. Nice sea view, romantic but far from nice food place. Not good for Thai people who love Thai culture food. Too many foreigner restaurants. But overall good for to relax

Simple hotel good enough for a short stay”

having arrived by car we had called the hotel to make sure there had a car park and they answered they had one. in fact the car park is not in the hotel itself but in a small chinese temple just nearby. this was during new year we and it was full. we had to find a car park in the town 15 mn walk from the hotel. my wife had forgotten her camera in our room and when we realized this we were already several hundreds of km from the hotel. we called them on the phone and they immediately said they had found it and kept it in a safe place. a friend of ours who is a hua hin resident stopped by the next day to pick it up to send it back to us.

Great location, great atmosphere”

Loved mod house. 2 minute walk to beach, 3 minutes to fabulous night market. Staff promptly brought extra pad for lumpy bed. Built on an old pier - Really nice shared deck overlooking bay. Only problem was sewer smell. Big downpour of rain follow by a gagging sewer smell for about 30 minutes. Disgusting!!!!

Good location and staff, but a guesthouse”

English speaking male staff very helpful, booked taxi on short notice. Remainder of staff would need more guidance. Free bottled water nice touch. Guesthouse location very good. Be wary of exactly what room you are booking: mine had no hot water or air conditioning. High value and good for short stay.

2 star it is. good value for the money”

It is worth of the money. we have two kids with us so we stayed in two rooms. The ac unit was broken which we cannot control the temperature and it was very cold. But later on we turned off the ac and the ocean breeze actually enough for the night. We stayed only one night because it was a quick stop for us in Hua Hin. I won't suggest to stay more than 2 nights. It's cheap, simple, it's ok, but nothing more to that. Might as well pay a little more to stay at a nicer places. But if you are looking to do it cheap, this is a good place. Nothing too dirty or cannot stand. Just very SIMPLE.(although lots of English channels on tv though)

Since it is the cheapest in Hua Hin do not expect too much like 4-stars hotels.

Located on beach and pleanty of places to eat close by even if the guesthouse did not have its own dining rooom. Would stay again
