A nice resort with very good location”

To be honest I was bit apprehensive after reading all the cold reviews and the horrible pics. But after reaching the hotel all misconceptions were cleared. It is a nice hotel in its category, just across the beach. All the eateries, shopping centre are nearby. One can purchase all necessary items (beer, drinks) from 7-11, just beside the resort. There are many travel agencies nearby by. We booked through Ao Nang GR travel near the hotel (Ask for Manao, she is very helpful). We enjoyed our stray at Ao nang beach resort. And will definitely come back again. The pool is small but remains open till 11 pm. Located at the corner of the resort, It felt like our private pool with no one to bother. An area of improvement could be the breakfast, which is same every day. Though there restaurant is pretty good and remain full every night. Food is also good and don’t forget to try the coolers imported from Estonia, available only at Ao nang beach resort and its affiliates.

Outstanding value and location”

Our stay at Ao Nang Beach Resort was thoroughly enjoyable. The receptionist was friendly. welcoming and highly efficient. The room was extremely spacious, well appointed and everything worked - a most pleasant change from many other properties. The restaurants on site were excellent - very good food and the burgers and Mexican dishes were outstanding. In terms of location we could not have asked for better. This resort is literally on the beach and so conveniently situated on the strip. I would highly recommend this hotel and when we return to Ao Nang it shall certainly be on the top of our list. Best location, great price”

We found this place on our last trip to Ao Nang and said if we came back we would stay here. A year later we found ourselves doing just that. They have a premier location right in the heart of the beach strip. Now if you are after a fancy resort style hotel this isn't it, but if you want a large room, perfectly adequate clean basic hotel in the midst of all the action this place is perfect. They had a pool (we didn't use it...the beach is literally across the street), breakfast was a selection of all the usual basics (the pancakes are yummy). They have a large and very popular restaurant downstairs with a massive selection of dishes. We were travelling with our teenage daughter so got a mini suite which had a balcony overlooking the ocean which was fantastic and all the bar/restaurant/beach shopping/tour desks/taxis are at your doorstep. Couldn't fault the staff they were friendly, helpful and perfectly lovely. The cleaning ladies also do a fantastic selection of towel animals every day which never failed to put a smile on our faces. This isn't your fancy decor, modern or high tech hotel but if you are in Ao Nang for the sights beyond your hotel room door this is a great pick.

Great location and clean hotel”

Location just in front of the beach, Ao Nang (Krabi) Area mostly raining everyday, so good hotel really help to rescue my holiday, they give us 2 bottle additional mineral water daily, clean and soft towel (this is very rare at most hotel) my room cleaned everyday, good breakfast, complete amenities, and plus point many shop around and the price is not pricey (trust me i already checked to Krabi city center) when i was checked in, they required deposit 1,000 bath, at first i am afraid because of I've read the comments about hotel at Ao Nang area who gonna cost u your small amenities with high price, but they returned it full.

better than expected”

we read a lot of negative comment regarding this hotel after we made our reservation,we were quite nervous during our taxi ride from airport. However, we were really surprise when we reach Ao Nang Beach Resort as the room was great! Clean room and toilet, tile flooring(not dirty carpet that we saw on the review). it seem like the owner had done major renovation! The swimming pool area was superb! food not halal but beggar cant be choosy, u can still survive on bread, cheese and egg! however on our 2nd day, we were told that fried rice is halal as they cook it with egg only and we were so happy!Plus the beach just across the road!everything within walking distance.. we will recommend this hotel to our friend!

Amazing value for money hotel!”

This was our second time at Ao Nang Beach Resort. We've been there last year and decided to come back because it's a really good place to stay. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Everyday they make your room they arrange towels as in a different animal like crabs, dogs, etc. Very creative I've never seen before. Breakfast really good!! Staff very attentive and the location is excellent in front of the beach. I will come back if I'm going to Krabi again!! Thanks people for being the way you are!!

Way above my expectations”

I was blown away by the Ao Nang Beach Resort it was way above my expectations The staff were wonderful the breakfast was outstanding and the pool was clean and it was in the centre of Ao Nang so I expected it would be noisy on the contrary there was a hardly any sounds day or night very quiet. The beach was just metres away and the pool was sparkling clean all the time. This was my third visit to Ao Nang and third hotel I will always come back to the AO Nang Beach Resort and will make a recommendation to all my friends too

Nice, clean hotel”

Ao Nang Beach Resort was a nice hotel. The only problem we experienced was in adding a third person to our room. The room already came standard with a double bed and single bed, making it the perfect size for three people. Yet, there was still an exaggerated charge for the third person to stay in the room. I realize that third person would need to pay for the breakfast the next morning, but 25 dollars is excessive, especially for a room that already had the bed available. Otherwise, it was a decent hotel for the price (before the extra bed fee).

Ao Nang Beach Resort”

Ao Nang Beach Resort is a rustic, quaint place which has a fantastic location and a great price to match. You cross the road in front of the hotel and you are actually on the beach. You cannot ask for more. Location, location, location - wow! The breakfast I think is sufficient with all the usual suspects but not extensive. Yoghurt, fresh fruit, a simple salad counter, egg station, juice, bacon, ham, cheese, pancakes with honey, grilled tomatoes, fried potatoes, sausages, a bit of local fare like fried vegetables, rice, cornflakes, milk - what else do you want...all these come with the room price. The rooms are spacious. The TV channels are limited. A small but decent pool which is actually quite nice - it grows on you. Room service, front office staff are cheerful and friendly. WiFi in the rooms are a bit of a bother but you can go to the Front Office and they will gladly hook you up with the Front Office password. The restaurant is very good with both European and Thai food. They have a very decent selection of wines and spirits and to top it all, they had good bands playing when I was there. They readily accepted requests and even got the crowd dancing. Decent happy hour price with a small bottle of beer going for 90 Baht. All in a very pleasant stay and great value for money. I would recommend it for families, groups of friends, solo traveller. As a matter of fact, just about to anyone.

Good locality, convenience and good services”

we booked two rooms,a deluxe and a standard for myself, and the deluxe for my son and his friend. ao nang beach resort is very convenient - accessible to the shops, restaurants along the stretch along the beach. can book a tour from any of the booking agents, and the boats take off from the beach in front of the hotel. the receptionist was exceeding helpful and cheerful. made our stay a pleasant one through her morning calls, and handling our requests promptly. it was the low season, and we got very good value for the rooms we booked. we were out from morning till late nights. hotel served our purpose as a place to sleep and shower and to join the tours in the daytime, and enjoy the dinners and shopping in the evening. a memorable stay, and our special thanks to the two hardworking and cheerful receptionists. one of them is ms. vithaey.

Big, comfy rooms and great location”

The Ao Nang Beach Resort is a simple, basic resort that has balconies overlooking the beach which lies directly across the road from premises. The rooms are well facilitated, clean, comfortable and large. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast buffet is limited but adequate. There is a swimming pool and massage hut. There is also a restaurant that has divine Thai food (they will make it as spicy as you like). The beach road is a compact and fabulous shopping strip. Very good value for money and I would definitely return.

this hotel is a little jewel ”

this value for money hotel is wonderfully located mid way along ao nang beach, walk 30m and your feet are in the sand. our standard room was nearly half the size of a volleyball court (nearly). good beds, good size bathroom, great hot water and we didn't even have the super splendid seaview suite ( only $5 more) everyday we had brilliant 'towel figures' on each days fresh towels- elephants,swans,lotus flowers, pigs and dogs, amazing. choice of eating on your doorstop,next door an up-market place with moderate prices whilst 500m walk either direction you can have the bargain basement 'a la cart,meals on wheels' charcoal grill while you wait for $3 plus $3 for your choice of peeled fruit, this easily feeds two people. add to this great staff, most helpful. will i stay again...most certainly as this place is one of the top places we have used having travelled asia for 3 months every year for past 6 years.

Great ”

The rooms: are dated and tired but large and functional. The ac is good and the rooms have large fridges in. The shower was good but the bathroom also needed some work. The breakfast was good and the pool is a great bous and a nice size. The location is also great, right in the middle and almost everything is within walking distance and the beach is just across the road. We stayed here 7 years ago and thankfully the place has not lost its family feel. The team that work there are great and the new manager Soda is a real assist to the place he couldn't do enough to help and runs a tight ship. He speaks many languages very well and is a font of knowledge. We were there over new year and the owner Alpo still knows how to put on a great party and the resort has great live music every night. I would also suggest trying The Beach, a sister restaurant to the resort as this was great. Ao Nang has changed a lot and caters heavily for holiday makers and this is reflected in prices.

Center of the Action”

I've stayed in many hotels over the years in Ao Nang. This one is dead center on the beach road so at night there's lots of action. The room (mini Suite) overlooked the beach through the trees but it was quiet inside and spacious (very big), however a little dark and dated. It is very clean throughout. This is a great hotel for people watchers and the ability to be on the beach in one minute. Overall it's good value for the price. Two downsides: The WiFi did not work in my room and the pool had creepy chemicals in it. Breakfast was OK. Overall good but I moved to Krabi Heritage after my initial stay. Small rooms there but quieter and very nice.

we booked 3 rooms at this resort with both parents of my wife and i, 2 at first floor n 1 at 2nd floor. 2nd floor has balcony. the location of this resort is great, in fact it is right in the middle of the shopping street of ao nang beach of krabi, room is clean though a bit old. the aircon however, is not strong enough for the large room. the food at the resort is not bad, every night there is live performance. however, sound proofing of the rooms are not as good as the entertainment will go into the midnights. wifi is available but not that fast. overall very pleasant stay at this resort, given the competitive price and location. highly recommended for couples and family!

heart of oa nang”

It is right in the middle of an nang. 40 yards from the beach, has a great restaurant, live music most of the afternoon and evening. Rooms are a little bit dated but offer everything you need. Apart from an iron. Stayed here twice, small resort but great location and more than comfortable for a visit to Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand.

Wonderful stay here and a good choice indeed. Krabi, particularly at Ao Nang, has a laid back feel as compared to Phuket, less hustling, more personal in service and very relaxing. The resort epitomises that description pretty well especially with their excellent staff, always polite, smiling and helpful. Just metres away at the exit are the tourist information booth about islands trip, transport needs etc that one would expect to find. If walking out in the hot sun or tiring legs are an issue, not to worry; there's affordable tricycle type motorbikes that can carry you around. Overall we had a great time there and would definitely come back as a repeat customer!

good and convenient”

Check in was fast and efficient...the room was big enough,had balcony with chairs and a table but the view was non existent, inside court, covered, so no sky...only other rooms balconies and some storage area..tv was old and kind of small for today's standards. Cleanliness was ok, linen clean, towels were old, torn and with some stains. Plenty of amenities in the bathroom. Staff was very polite and helpful Breakfast was buffet and very good. Had a pool as well, not so big but very clean and nice...good place to relax...mojitos were cheap during the day and very good.restaurant is big and a big variety of food and live entertainment. prices are decent and there was 20% off for the tourists that stay there. the resort is located across the beach,but there is not really a beach..as you have to go somewhere else to swim(plenty of islands and options). A lot of restaurants and pubs around as well as an 7/11 just 15 meters away.for food...you can only eat in the restaurants as there are no street vendors...for that you have to go little bit further in Ao Nang towards Krabi and there food is good and much cheaper. A tour desk is just by the entrance and have a lot of options..but is good to check around as well as you might get the same thing for a better price. Overall, was a good stay for a decent price. If you want to be in the middle of everything, it has the perfect location, but if you are budget oriented, you can find better rooms and cheaper in Ao nang downtown with a lot of options for good and cheap food. For all the tours, they will pick you up from wherever, so is not a problem.

Great Location and Staff”

This hotel is in a great location and directly across the street from Ao Nang Beach, where you can swim and buy tickets for the long tail boats. It's also close to the center of the main street and is surrounded by tour stands, souvenir shops, restaurants, convenience stores, and anything else you might need! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Between the two people working there I heard them speaking Thai, English, and Tagalog. The rooms are not the nicest (the price is for the location, not the room quality), but they are clean and comfortable. If you're sensitive to noise be aware that there is live music playing next door that you can hear until at least midnight. The pool area is nice and is surrounded by really comfortable lounge chairs. If I found another Agoda deal I would definitely stay there again!
