Loved everything about my stay...”

Baan Pulaoon is located in a great section of Ao Nang. An easy walk to the beach with restaurants, bars, and shopping on a couple minutes walk. The staff is super friendly and responsive. The owner, Jib, was a pleasure to talk with and she not only operates the hotel, but an on site travel agency. I booked excursions and transfers through her and was totally pleased with the prices and services offered. Her excursion prices were actually a couple hundred baht cheaper than most prices you would find walking the street. My room was very clean and comfortable. Have your room made up every day if you like, or not. The staff will respect your privacy if that is what you are looking for. Rent a motorbike just two doors down with no worries about turning your passport over. Check out Pu Massage down towards the beach across from McDonalds. Great massage, they are busy for a reason. Jib can also arrange for an in room massage from her cousin for the same price. Overall, a great stay. I booked for 2 nights initially and chose to stay for 2 more. If I am ever back in Ao Nang, I will be staying at Baan Pulaoon. Thanks to Jib and staff!

What i love most about Baan Pulaoon is the room. It is very large. I think the rooms are even larger than some 5 stars hotels I've been to. The bathroom is clean and bath tubs in a 2.5 star guest house is just awesome. The owner, Jib, is very friendly and helpful and she speaks English. She's a Muslim so i have no doubt about halal breakfast served at Pulaoon. There are many halal food restaurants nearby but they are not cheap. Simple dinner for 5 could easily set you back more than 1000 baht. It takes about 10 minutes walk to the famous Ao Nang beach. Along the way, you can find many massage centres, bars, souvenir shops, banks, money changers, 7 Eleven, Starbucks, family marts etc. I would definitely recommend Pulaoon as a perfect place to stay in Ao Nang, Krabi.

Charming and Friendly”

There's something charming about family-run places. So while this hotel (more of a guesthouse actually) doesn't have an elevator (we used to huff and puff to our third-floor room); there are no phones in the rooms; no tuk tuk service (a tuk tuk charges baht to the beach); no free Internet – we didn't really mind any of it, 'coz the husband and wife (Dutch man married to a Thai Muslim woman) who run Baan Pulaoon are very helpful and friendly (with their two totally friendly and adorable little girls). So it's lovely to be in a warm family environment when in a strange land. They don't offer a breakfast buffet, but have a decent a la carte fare. The banana pancake is delicious (and very often the lady-owner makes it herself). In fact, Baan Pulaoon has its own restaurant, but we didn't have any other meals there. Oh, the room. Spacious, neat and comfy. If you want a double bed with a single mattress, vis-a-vis two mattresses joined together which is the norm in several hotels in Thailand, it's better you send them an email and specify your requirements at the time of booking. There's a little balcony too; ours overlooked a lush green cliff. It's completely dark and still at night - and romantic when you stand and gaze at the starlit sky. The other view is of the street, but with the limestone cliffs in the background. The bathroom is okay. It has a tub; and the shower's decent. Baan Pulaoon is at least a 15-minute walk from the Ao Nang beach – which is where you also take long-tail boats to visit nearby islands. So it's away from the buzz of the promenade, but that's fine – Ao Nang is so charming that one wouldn't really mind the walk, with stops to buy little trinkets, or get a foot massage and nail art, or simply savour the street food with live music floating over in the evenings.

Lovely room and good service”

the hotel was conveniently located a 10 minute run away from ao nang beach (not walk, lol). the staff were very friendly and provided us information such that we would have things to do for the entire trip. eats: on the way to ao nang beach we stopped by a wonderful barbeque restaurant that serves great pineapple rice and black pepper crab. opposite baan pulaoon there is also a super nice eating place - their green curry chicken is a must try. the restaurant that is next to baan pulaoon is not too good, though, so venture out a bit more to find better eats. if you want to head to krabi town for night markets, book a taxi with them!

Superb!”

We came with family of 5, we were comfortably in a deluxe room with big bed (king size!) with added an extra bed. The room was spacious with balcony. Internet was fast. I met Gib the muslim owner lady who runs the hotel with the help of her family. We had massage in room during our two nights stay by her cousin. We booked our four island hopping trip and elephant trekking with the hotel and it turned out to be the cheapest in town. The bfast was superb. Night market is just walking distance from the hotel. Ao nang beach is 5 minutes walking. Manage to find the famous Yaminlah pankcake infront of the police tourist station near the beach. Were late for check out when stucked at the elephant trekking camp but hotel allowed us for late check out at 3pm! Gibb will help us on everything! We had the best tomyam dish at Lemon. Halal. Restaurant nearby and received discount as we were the hotel guests. I recommended this hotel and surely will come again. Baan Pulaoon is the best!!

Lovely hotel and service with a smile”

we arrived to krabi after spending few weeks in other parts of thailand and i must confess that's was what we needed to relax at the end of our trip.rooms are clean, tidy and spacious. despite the fact that our room was located on the street side - we didn't face any issues with noise. the most valuable advantage is lady that owns hotel. she is smiling all the time!ready to help you anytime. she helped us to book transport to airport despite the fact she was out of town for the weekend! (staff called he to help us). she offers trips but even if you choose to book trips in other travel agencies she is still willing to help you all the time.( in some other hotels in thailand we were not treated so kindly when we booked trips outside hotel agencies) the only thing that could be better is location - but we were fully aware of it before booking our stay. it's about 10 minutes from the beach - but when you are coming back to the hotel it might be a bit tiring for some people all in all - i'd totally reccommend baan pulaoon !

A high quality hotel and great value of your money”

I had a great time in Baan Pulaoon, the owner of the Hotel is absolutely kind person. She is very friendly and really does her best to make each guest's stay the most pleseant and comfortable stay in Ao Nang. She speaks pretty well English and really takes care of thier guests. It is a really good hotel and by all means a great value of your money.

nice and clean hotel with friendly staff”

we enjoyed our stay at the pulaoon house. the rooms are big and very clean and nicely decorated. there is free wifi in the room and also satellite tv (for the dutch and flemish people, there is BVN), a refrigerator and a good and modern AC. the room has also a private balcony with view on a green hill. further more, there are several computers downstairs for the guests with free internet access ! the hotel is slightly away from the beach (15min walk) but the road is full of restaurants and bars so the walk doesn't seem long ;-) although situated at an important street, we slept very good, it's calm and quiet. last but not least, the hotel is runned by a very nice and friendly couple, always ready for a little chat and to give information about ao nang and krabi !

Cheap and very charming”

we stayed two nights a baan pulaoon. in our room we had a tv, air-con, fridge, bathroom (yes a proper bath!), safe, tea coffee making stuff and a nice front facing balcony with a great view. as we entered the room for the first time we were greeted with towels which had been folded into the shape of elephants. the room was very clean and tidy. the only drawback here is that there is no lift, we were on the fourth floor (top), the stairs could be difficult for some people. the staff were very helpful and arranged our transfer to krabi airport. the guesthouse is about ten to fifteen minutes walk to the beach. there are many bars and restaurants very close by. i would definately recommend this place.

Close to beach, big rooms”

The three of us enjoyed our time at Baan Pulaoon. The rooms were very large and clean. Close to many good restaurants and just a 10 minute walk to Ao Nang beach. The staff was very helpful in booking tours and transportation to the other islands in Thailand.

Convenient location in a relaxed beachside town”

Very friendly staff who helped us book some tour for our 3 days in Krabi- the hotel is quite small, has a neat family feel to it. The rooms were spacioius, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was limited- choice of American or Continental, but it was what we needed to start of the day. The hotel isn't located in the "heart" of Ao Nang beach, but this was perfect for us as we wanted something a bit quite after coming across from Phi Phi Island. It is only 10 minutes away (walk) from the beach and the hub of Ao Nang beach, and 20minutes by taxi truck to Krabi Town.

Good budget accommodation and lovely owners/staff”

I had a very pleasant 4 night stay in a Superior Room at Baan Pulaoon. I paid 1,100 baht per night via Agoda. The room was basic but very clean and comprised of a King-sized bed, a flat screen TV with cable channels, a large wardrobe, a small fridge, and a desk and chair. The bathroom was a good size with a shower (no bath), western toilet, and sink. There was also a small balcony which was secluded and had a 'view' of the jungle out the back. The only items that would have made my stay better are a kettle and a cup/mug. I have stayed in many similar accommodations in Ao Nang over the past ten years and all are pretty similar. The price of this guesthouse is on the higher side than others of a similar standard but the staff here are noticeably more friendly and the owners, a Dutch man and his English speaking Thai wife, are extremely nice and very accommodating. For me this is worth the extra few baht.

Great hotel with great staff”

Baan Pulaoon is a very nice hotel slightly off from the central parts of Ao Nang. The best feature is very friendly staff who were very helpfull in arranging trips for me. The Wifi worked as expected as well. Cleanliness could be better...

Superb location and services”

Fantastic - great staff and very clean rooms”

We had an excellent time at Pulaoon House. The owners were very hospitable and very helpful with all our questions. The guest house is simple but very clean and relaxing. The rooms were amongst the best I've seen and were far better than the 2* rating for the guest house. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for couples, families and travellers wishing to enjoy a place which isn't packed out with other tourists. We will definitely use Pulaoon House if we were ever to go back! Thank you!

Nice staff, clean rooms and good location ”

Very nice hotel with clean and cosy rooms and good value for money. A lady manager was very nice - she speaks good English and every day she gave us good advice where to go, as Ao Nang is more a starting point to head off to the place you will like, being itself a place with crowds of people, dirty beaches and twice expensive food and souvenirs compared to less touristic Thai places. I would definitely recommend this hotel (but not Ao Nang).

Simple hotel with fantasic host”

Baan Pulaoon is not right on the beach, but it is a great, affordable launching spot for activity around the Ao Nang area. The front desk staff is extremely friendly and helpful with activities and booking. It is a short 10 minute walk along the main road to the beach, restuarants, and shopping.

Nice hotel, great people”

the deluxe rooms are large, comfortable, very clean. the elephants made out of the towels are very funny, it is a nice touch. the breakfast is good. the hotel is located on the main road in ao nang, so if you are a little noise sensitive like me ask for a room at the back. the main feature of this hotel are the people, owners and staff. they are extremely nice and helpful, they always smile, nothing is a problem, they made my stay special. i would definitively recommand this hotel.

Great hotel (especially for the price)”

My wife and I loved our stay at Pulaoon House. We came from a more expensive resort but wished we had stayed here longer. Pulaoon House was inexpensive, ideally located and the owners were very friendly. Great food and a nice beach can be found within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms were nice as well.
