Great hotel with staff who are always helpful”
the ayara grand palace hotel is a breath of fresh air compared to most of the dingy old hotels in phitsanulok. from the moment we arrived and were greeted with a cold drink we knew that this hotel was going to be good. the attentive staff could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. the rooms were bright, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, including a powerful shower with lots of hot water, a flat screen tv and very attractive décor. we ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. breakfast was also very good. no question of where i will stay next time i visit phitsanulok!

Excellent, well-managed hotel”
We were very impressed by the can-do attitude and helpfulness of the hotel staff during our stay. We extended our stay at this hotel by several days when we saw how helpful the staff were. They went out of their way, anticipating some of our needs, offering suggestions, and making sure that our stay was comfortable. Some of the front desk staff speak good English and helped us with phone calls in Thai to facilitate our plans, as we were in the midst of moving from another city in Thailand to Phitsanulok, along with considerable baggage. The dining room staff are also top-notch professionals. I've stayed in dozens of midrange (night) hotels all over Thailand and this place has the best service. All smiles and a positive attitude to match. When we left after one week, I almost felt as if I was leaving good friends. Our hotel room was clean, quiet and comfortable, with a good shower and cozy bed (by Thai standards, which tend to be on the hard side). The free in-room WiFi worked well. The free breakfast is an area in need of improvement. A wider selection of foods could be offered: 1) How about something other than white bread? 2) Perhaps a bit of peanut butter, Nutella, or Vegemite to spread on that toast? 3) Some real yogurt, not a watered-down imitation. Some granola with that, please. 4) Maybe some decent pastries or muffins? 5) Mangos are now in season - how about some for breakfast? Check out your competition at the Riverside Grand in Phitsanulok - a much better breakfast buffet.

Very good hotel, although perhaps not 4-star.”
We were very happy with our 2 night stay at the Ayara Grand Palace. The location is terrific as its a short walk from the train station, therefore if youre arriving by train it is immediately convenient as you can walk (less than 5 minutes) and not have to worry about a tuk. From the moment we arrived the staff were very helpful, including a free upgrade of our room (although we have come across this several times in Thailand therefore not sure if it is a common courtesy or gimmick). The room itself was excellent. Very well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was excellent including a very good shower and bath. The only criticism I would have of this hotel is that the breakfast (which were the only meals I ate there) were not terrific. I find this with most hotels that serve buffet breakfasts however therefore it wouldnt influence my decision to stay there again. I wouldnt endorse its 4-star rating. Realistically, it is a 3-star hotel but a very good one which I recommend without hesitation.

Very nice hotel”
we only stayed at the ayara grand palace hotel for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. the room was beautiful, with all the amenities one could want, including a fantastic shower, robes and slippers. the staff were all very nice and friendly. we enjoyed the swimming pool, which was located behind the hotel. we also had an evening drink at the outside bar, which was very enjoyable. the breakfast was wonderful, with many choices including eggs made to order.

New hotel in Phitsanulok”
my wife and i very much enjoyed our stay at this new hotel. there were a few minor teething problems (i.e. air-conditioning and toilet) but the staff were very helpful and dealt with these promptly and efficiently and this didn't impair our stay at all. there is a well-kept swimming pool and breakfast, included in the price, was enjoyable and plentiful. we will certainly be returning to ayara grand palace in the near future.

Great hotel at a bargain price”
This hotel would not be out of place in Bangkok, never mind an average provincial town. There is a very strong customer service ethos in this hotel, which is evident from your arrival; I cannot remember the last time I was personally escorted to my room, other than in a 5 star hotel. Service is efficient and friendly, with somebody seemingly on hand whenever needed. The room was a good size and modern, while not being dauntingly so, with very pleasant décor and a very comfortable bed. The en suite shower room was excellent, with a good, powerful shower and adequate hot water. The TV had at least 3 English language channels, unusual in provincial Thailand. The restaurant was good and the food - we ate Thai, though western food is available - excellent, the use of good quality, fresh ingredients being very obvious. The inevitable live entertainment was "provincial". Food was also served on an outside terrace, where different live entertainment was available. Breakfast was very good, with an excellent selection and a chef on hand to cook fresh egg dishes, albeit that he had trouble understanding our requests; given that our omelettes were delivered with such a cheery smile, we had not the heart to ask him to cook fresh omelettes! Service was once again efficient and friendly. The staff's English language skills were surprisingly good, thankfully given my very limited Thai. There were issues such as the WiFi not working (the staff did their best to help), no shaver point in the bathroom, etc but it would be disingenuous to stress these points which were niggles rather than major issues. This is a quite excellent hotel, which we would definitely stay at again when we next find ourselves in Phitsanulok. For the price we paid, this is extraordinarily good value

colourful hotel”
tucked away in a side road ayara grand palace hotel is surely not a grand palace but a cosy nice new hotel with lots of colours. every door is decorated with bright red colourful themes. rooms are big, tastefully decorated, all the amenities are ready to use. internet hi-speed is free even in the room. there is a small swimming pool to refresh after a long drive, karaoke-room full of locals at night. breakfast buffet has a wide thai selection but as well cereals available.

Great hotel and a perfect location”
This hotel is situated right in the center or Phitsanulok, only 5 min drive to Praputachinarach(Wat Yai) and many other tourist attractions within the city. Service provided is really good. Overall cleanliness of the hotel is superb. Parking space might be a bit hard to find since the hotel holds seminars and meetings there.

Great hotel in heart of Phitsanulok”
Definitely one of the better hotels in Phitsanulok. We booked a Junior Suite for twelve nights and the room was spacious and extremely clean. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast was always fresh and plentiful and of a good standard. The swimming pool is clean and was used by us both to cool down in the hot afternoons. The hotel is located near to the town centre and just a few minutes walk to the train station. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Clean and Comfortable”
We had a nice stay at the Ayara Grand Palace Hotel. Our room was clean and spacious. Location is good - close to a private hospital, not too far from the train station, and within walking distance of many restaurants and food stands. The hotel is not on the main road though and was difficult to find on our own. The swimming pool is smallish and a little dirty. The breakfast was alright and did have a couple Western options. However, we arrived 1/2 hour before the buffet closed and several items were out or slightly cold. The only issue we had was that we had booked a double bed and when we arrived we were told only rooms with single beds were available. As frequent Agoda users we are used to having the lowest priority so I guess we shouldn't have been surprised.

Surprisingly good provincial hotel”
This is the second time we've stayed here and would again if in Phitsanulok. The hotel is modern, very clean and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The dining is okay and the breakfast very good for a provincial hotel. We've been less comfortable in a UK hotel costing much more and would highly recommend.

Excellent hotel excellent value”
I cannot fault this hotel. I stayed here one night on a business trip and was very impressed with the quality of the hotel, the room, the service and the food! This hotel is very good value and if you stayed in something similar in Bangkok you would pay baht plus a night. breakfast spread was excellent and staff very helpful. If I need a hotel in Phitsanulok again this will be top of my list.

Good stay. Nice hotel.”
This was my second stay at the Ayara. This time we had a couple of friends with us and had offered them to stay in our same room. I had mentioned to the front desk that there were four of us and for that reason we needed two beds then all four of us were shown up to a room. The room only had one bed and when I told the bellman again that we would need two he showed us to another room with two beds but mentioned we were not supposed to have more than two people. I asked him if there was a problem and he said no but the rest of the stay seemed shadowed as if my party was breaking the rules...a little uncomfortable. Overall I like the hotel and would recommend a stay here.Oh and get to breakfast early because ifnthey run out of something, you missed it.

Fantastic New rooms!”
I stayed in this brand new hotel in May 2011. Found this gem when I insist moving from away another hotel which was at least 30 years old. Ayara felt like heaven! We love the mood lighting and beautiful bathroom. Staff and manager was very helpful and friendly. I realized it was featured in the travel magazine. It was the good value for money as I had only paid less than $50 per night and it comes with free in-room WIFI! Two thumbs up!

Clean & Decent”
I booked 2 superior rooms last minute- just few hours before we stayed, Using the feedback from other reviewers to help me decide. And of course the price is very reasonable thru Agoda deals. I am glad that it turn out as as expected - very clean perhaps it is also new so the decor of the room is contemporary design. We love the rooms. Though the bed a bit hard for some it is still a very comfortable stay. There is a cafe named Grandpa's cafe opposite the hotel so you can get nice coffee & beverages at night as it closed at 10pm; a coin operated washing machine is also nearby; hotel located at a quiet lane but safe neighbourhood. Yes, i would stay again if given opportunity to return to this place.

Decent boutique style Thai hotel”
Decent Thai style hotel with boutique styling. The room was large and comfortable, although the bathroom was a little tired and looked in need of a deep clean (scale on the shower, dirt on the tile grout). The location is fair - about 10-15 minutes walk to the river, but close to the station and the food market on the main road near the U-Thong hotel. Staff were pleasant and helpful when needed. Breakfast was ok but not especially good European options, and towards the end of the serving the coffee ran out every day. I thought for Phitsanulok and the overall quality it was a little over priced.

New hotel with some strange touches”
there's no real reason for tourists to visit phitsanulok except as a base to visit the extraordinary ruined city of sukothai or perhaps as a pitstop between bangkok and chiang mai. possibly for that reason the clientele is almost entirely thai and little english is spoken or understood by the staff. the hotel is very new, clean and comfortable but with some frankly surreal touches in its quest for trendiness - anyone for an orange chair about six feet tall fixed to a wall, or a roller blind permitting views of anyone using the shower but operated from the room, not the bathroom!

Nice new hotel; tastefully decorated”
the hotel is very new, clean and decorated in a modern, bright style which is quite refreshing. however, there should be more towel rails, especially one for the hand towel in the bathroom. the shower curtain is perhaps a bit short, making the whole bathroom easily flooded when showering. the shower itself, however, was very pleasant - lovely hot water and fantastic shower strength! overall, it was a pleasure to stay at ayara grand hotel and i would definitely considering returning in future.

Good location for rail station. Modern and clean. ”
Hotel is recently built. Clean and brightly decorated rooms. Comfortable. Breakfast OK but not great. It is clean with a bright modern decor. Good location for train travelers and to get to Wat Yai. Staff very friendly and helpful. For visitors to Phitsanulok it is worth going to Wat Yai, and then walk along riverside to night market area - see and taste the 'flying vegetable'.
