Peaceful stay on the river”

We had a great stay here. The rooms are spacious and clean, the grounds immaculate, and the vibe very restful. I stayed 3 nights with my two children, aged 3 and 6. After a busy week of sightseeing and lots of driving, it was great to just stay put and relax. We got there on the weekend so there were other families there, mostly from Bangkok, so the kids had friends to play with. The grounds are good for soccer, frisbee, and generally running up and down their little bunny hills. They had bicycles for the kids to ride around on. We went kayaking everyday. The many trees keep the air cool, even chilly in the morning! One day, we went to the aquarium at Bang Chawak, it was very nice, if a little over-priced. I didn't have a car, so the owner, Shaloon, drove us and picked us up. He speaks vey good english, so that was helpful, because he was the only one. The included breakfast buffet is good, and Shaloon was very accommodating to the kids. There are not many reasons for falangs to end up in Suphan Buri, but if you do and are looking for a quiet place in nature, this is a good bet, and worth the money.

I had booked one night at Doembang Villa and part of their service is a free pickup from the transport center in the city. I called the owner and he picked me up. : ) The dinner at the restaurant was very good and the room was clean. The next day, the Villa offers free bicycles to guests, so I biked the six kilometers to the zoo. It was a great place to stay and I recommend it!

Pleasant Stay”

Our family had a pleasant one-night stay at Doembang Villa in its natural setting. It was close to Bungchawak Zoo and Aquarium, but it's not on a main road, so you need a car. The highlight was the free use of their kayak, all our kids had a go with dad. They also had fish feeding. Their menu was a little limited for the kids, as well as the tv channels.

Nice quiet place to relax away from Bangkok”

Overall a nice weekend away from Bangkok. Easy to relax by the river. The location is actually not near Suphan Buri town, rather it is near a village called Doem Bang. So, a car is a definite must! Also check out Kanchanaburi and Amphawa.

A special place in Suphan Buri”

Although the hotel is down a winding road and a little difficult to find, it is worth the effort to be right on lake Tha Chin with lush green surroundings, butterflies fluttering, fruit growing, herons perching for a most relaxing atmosphere. The owner gladly met us at a near-by gas station to help us follow the winding road. His whole family acts as gracious hosts. Dining is right on the porch on the river with fans to keep the breeze moving and the bugs away. Open for breakfast and dinner. The dinner we had was fresh and hot off the stove. The villa on the river had a back porch for relaxing and listening to the quiet noises of nature at night. No complaints, all in all a delightful experience.

Fantastic Resort, Very High Standard”

a delightful, small resort. modern, well-equipped villas, located right on the river bank. a delightful terrace over looking the river for drinks and meals. the food is very high quality. the location is 10 minutes drive from the large lake and surrounding attractions. a great place to spend a few restful days. very quiet during the week, busier at weekends but always relaxed and welcoming. i highly recommend this resort.

Beautiful riverside resort”

The room was a good size. Bed very comfortable. Air-con efficient. Free use of kayaks, which only stopped when dad got tired. The kids loved riding around on the bikes. The restaurant/bar has a large deck with a fine river aspect. Food was good and not too expensive. I felt that the resort was better than the review score suggested. Quiet, of course, but being Bangkok residents, that's what we appreciated. We will be back.

Feel like home”

We enjoyed this small hotel run by 2 lovely senior couples. The hotel is far from city but very close to buen chawak, and the food is awesome with very reasonable price. People who like peaceful and quiet environment will love this place. It would be wonderful if having a swimming pool.

Thai paradise ”

This lovely resort is located next to a beautiful river deep in a natural wild life enclave surrounded by peach and mango orchards. The owner treats you like his most valued friend. The charming restaurant serves fish caught from the river that day. The rooms are lovely and well appointed. And very inexpensive. I have stayed in more than 60 hotels in Thailand. This was the best.

Cozy and calm get-away”

A very relaxing and enjoyable stay, friendly and attentive staff, nice terrace overlooking the river. Simple, yet very clean and comfortable rooms. A perfect weekend-get away. The hotel could provide more comfortable seating arrangements, like arm chair to relax while overlooking the river.

small, chic, close to nature, calm and relaxing”

We checked in at Kungnam Thai house for i night during 8-9Apr2014, with elderly and young children. Thai house is classic back in time. All amenities just sufficient, not luxury but clean, and well maintenance, not compromise our comfortable stay. All the residences here are on the Ta Gene River bank, very nature touched. Children enjoy kayaking in the embrace of true nature in Ta Gene river(this should accompanied with adult). They also enjoy bicycling even not such big area. Harvesting tropical fruits ( Maprang and mango)was also one of the interesting activities here despite not large orchard. Dinner in resort restaurant was traditional Thai cuisine with real Thai taste and reasonable price. Breaskfast included was just right selected from surrounding home made items. Resort is just 3 km. from Chawark Lake where there's much interesting things to do such as zoo, freshwater and sea water aquarium. This could be stop over night during long distance drive or be the destination for serenity and hideaway.

Had an enjoyable one-night stopover while driving from Chiang Mai to Bangkok. Standard room, clean, friendly staff, quiet location next to the river. Maybe a bit expensive all things considered, but best hotel in the area.

Lovely riverside location and excellent service”

spotlessly clean comfortable rooms set in a lovely riverside garden setting. the restaurant is on the bank overlooking the river and makes breakfast a memorable experience. the owner gives good attentive service. we were the first agoda customers to stay here and i have no reservations about recommending it providing you have your own transport. we would have liked to stay here longer and visited attractions such as bung chawat which are very close. however that gives me an excuse to go back for a longer stay.

Not far off the main road, clean tidy and with great (evening) food. Breakfast not in the same league but not a huge deal. Quiet and plenty of carparks.

Serene place for a quiet get-away.”

The hotel is very new, I believe. So everything is still fresh and clean. The room was clean. I got the second floor room that has a veranda looking out onto the garden. Very quiet at night. Breakfast was minimal but overall good. There is a medium size parking lot, which is a plus.

Wonderful little place, I really enjoyed it. Rooms are really nice. I stayed in a riverview room and it was lovely! Breakfast is good, sweet and sour fish is amazing! Definitely eat here if you stay here. Highly recommended! Great ownership, wonderful staff 5 stars all around.

Peaceful place”

It was a nice trip with my old friends. Hotel is in middle country side. We can see rice terraces along the way to hotel. Suphanburi is major province for growing rice in Thailand. Hotel's grass yard is quite cute.

Friendly owners and staff, Great food, nice and very quiet location, 5mins drive from 340 main road, plenty of onsite parking, nice clean modern rooms, have stayed a few time before, Bicycle friendly .

Nice place near to aquarium”

The rooms are a bit basic, and it can be hard to find - particularly at night, though there are signs (some in English and some in Thai). It is right on the river and a pretty location. Google maps will be needed to find it. (Make sure you know the telephone numbers of the hotel as some signs are only in Thai but have the numbers clearly shown).

Peaceful and close to nature”

The road to the hotel is quite complicate and partly dangerous especially at night. But I love the atmosphere which is simple and natural and very relaxing. I recommend this hotel for those who are looking for a hideaway not very far from BKK.
