An Experience We Will Never Forget”

if you want an experience away from the beaten path, where you can relax and enjoy southern thailand for all its natural and cultural beauty, this is the place. though it may be surrounded by up and coming resorts on one side, and a small thai village on the other, pawapi does a great job of bridging the gap between the two. the rooms and facilities are clean, comfortable and have unparalleled views, while the staff is made up of local hard-working thais who themselves are from koh muk island. you can still hear the call to prayer from the local mosque as you relax on your porch, and you can visit the local village store for extra supplies or a traditional 'roti' pancake by just a five minute walk from your bungalow. the andaman sea is literally right outside your front door, with huge tide changes, which affords you with great opportunities to swim and to explore the shells and starfish that make up the shallow emerald seas. the food menu is largely based upon what is available daily, though if you have the opportunity to snag the massaman curry, it alone will make your trip worthwhile. for explorers there are affordable local excursions available with flexible plans to fit anyone's taste (everyone in my family was pleased with our half-day adventure). i hesitate to even write this review, as i want to keep pawapi all to myself. but the truth is, pawapi is a warm-hearted, locally-concious wonder in a sea of over-indulgent mega-resorts, and it deserves all the praise it should get.

Girls holiday in Pawapi”

We were 3 girls traveling to Koh Mook and we couldn’t have found a better place to stay! We had the beachfront villa which was a delightful house on stilts right in the beach front ( true to the name). We fought over who would get the extra get since it was just so cozy! The staff are very nice and friendly... the massage centre is at a beautiful location and the masseuse was also extremely good and really paid attention to pressure points. The resort is absolutely stunning... they organise a snorkelling trip and a trip to the emerald cave where the boat picks you up from the beach right outside your room... overall... a beautiful holiday! Thank you Pawapi!

beautiful and perfectly located bungalows”

We had a wonderful stay (4 days/3 nights) in a beautiful beach front elevated bungalow (this is a huge pro, since you have the view and the breeze)at the Pawapi Resort. We enjoyed watching the sunrise and the moonrise (higly recommended), walking through the peaceful sandy beach, and observing the amazing biodiversity which appears during the low tides; we had so much fun observing the little crabs and the starfish looking for food at the sunset low tide. Pawapi is a new project, and for that we were looking for (peaceful rest, close to the ocean and the nature), it is the best option in the island for sure. The owner was specially nice; and his dog, Brownie, was lovely. We spent a lot of time playing with her and exporing together the island. We definitely recommend this resort if you want to visit Ko Muk and the Trang islands.

Wonderful romantic stay at Pawapi”

Mr Wee and his wife are wonderful and made our stay fantastic in every way. We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a romantic meal on the beach under a palm leaf bower that Mr Wee and his staff erected specially for us. They lit a beach fire for us and the whole evening was truly magical. The sunrises from this part of the island are to be seen to be believed and early morning coffee on our balcony was extraordinary every single day! All the staff are wonderful and kind and Mr Wee and his wife are the perfect hosts. I would thoroughly recommend Pawapi for a delightful and magical stay on Ko Mook.

Great retreat in beautiful setting.”

If you want to stop, relax and enjoy beautiful location with luscious warm sea, then this place is a must. The rooms are comfortable and all have great sea views, enjoy a fantastic through breeze (who wants to sit and listen to air-con machine?). Pawapi Resort offers delicious meals at very reasonable prices. All food is fresh, so the menu is dependent on the catch of the day. This may be limited for some people, but whatever you choose you wont be disappointed (try the massaman chicken roti). The owner is very laid back and accommodating. Forget the other resorts - they are either overpriced, or set up for the mass Swedish market. We had a fantastic three nights at Pawapi and would definitely recommended it.

Wonderfully peaceful spot”

We stayed a week at Pawapi and it ticked all the boxes for us as we wanted a place away from crowds, on the beach and quiet. The balcony is ideal for chilling and reading a book or contemplating the sea catching the sea breeze. The beds are comfortable as are the pillows - not always the case in Thailand! The girls in the restaurant are cheerful and friendly but have limited English so brush up on your Thai and take a phrasebook - we managed just fine while we were there even though my wife has some special dietary needs - all was accomodated for easily. The girls make up your room and issue complimentary water on request but do not disturb you otherwise. It is a fledgling resort so some improvements were taking place during our stay but at no time were we disturbed by the work. FYI there is no 24hr power here - the power comes on at 5pm until about midnight though this was not an issue for us as you do not particularly need the fan at night being so close to the sea - we loved being woken up by the waves on the beach at high tide and again at dawn when the fisherman's long-tails headed out to catch the fish we would eat later - just in time to catch the sunrise on the balcony. There is also only cold water for the shower - again this is fine by us in this climate. All in all a great stay and we would be happy to go back again.

Great beach and basic living”

We just spent half a day at the Pawapi Hotel. We only saw the rooms, we never slept there due to that our booked room/bungalow was not ready buit yet. My first impression was that the staff was friendly as ever in Thailand. The other bungalows were basic with no air condition. The reception was just a palmtree roof and a couple of chairs. This hotel is perfect for everyone that does not require top standard or five star hotel and only sleeps there. Snorkling was great just 15 minutes away with a longtail. The beach was super and facing south.

Paradise!”

Our stay at Pawapi has been great. the view from the comfortable apartment overlooking the stunning beach was fantastic. Upon arrival I had an issue with my health for with I needed help. The great and friendly staff went out of their way to greatly help me reach a doctor. Thanks for that! We hope to return again to Pawapi!

Fantastic!”

Everything was perfect. Great location, plentiful breakfast, rooms cleaned daily. We had the old-style rustic bungalow with fan which is exactly what we wanted. But on our last day we found out that all bungalows will eventually be modernized which means a/c and full glass windows. I think the resort will loose its appeal when they do that and become one of the typical upmarket beach resorts. Hopefully, no TV will be provided. Anyhow, the way it is now is just perfect. We loved it.

Wonderful Resort! We highly recommend this hotel.”

this was a great place to stay; the most comfortable and relaxing on our trip. the beach was covered with starfish and sand dollars when the tide went out and there were beautiful shells everywhere. the european host was a valuable source of information about the island and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the food was excellent, flavorful and fresh and the prices were very reasonable. breakfast was hearty and they offered to serve it on our balcony. the fishing village within a short walk had a market where you could buy all the necessities at non-tourist prices. the new restaurant dining room is beautiful with an elevated floor to allow spectacular views.

One of the true last classic Thai escapes”

This is a very special island to explore. Wish we had stayed more than just one night. Its a great launching point for anything and an amazingly relaxed and easy place to be. Great food is right there for you anytime you would like some. People come from the more expensive resorts up the beach to eat at the simple and lovely beach front cafe. Very kind people working and running this special beach front classic Thai escape.

Relaxing no fuss ”

We booked a beach front bungalow but I guess there were none left, so we were upgraded to a sea view villa. Second row, so if we were desperate for the beachfront it would have been disappointed, but we really enjoyed the bigger sized villa so no problem for us :) The beach is really really relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you come for chill and no one in your face. There were loads of families, which wasn’t an issue for us but some couples might not want that. On arrival we were greeted by Nina. It was cool to have an English speaker welcome us to the island and explain things to us. Breakfast was a little slow the first day, but seemed like the whole resort descended on he breakfast area at exactly the same time. Food was very nice. The bed and pillows were absolutely lush which, after traveling for a couple of weeks, means a lot! It’s a 5 Min walk into the village that has massage , bars, restaurants and supermarkets. It’s a 30 min walk to the main Charlie beach.

Pawapi resort was fully booked!!!!!”

We did not stay at Pawapi rerost as it was fully booked. Onnea was sorry and show us other resort which was not same quality. Hard to give any recommendation.

Great Location and Lovely Stay ”

The location can’t be beat - right on a lovely swimming beach and 5 minute walk to the village or down the beach to other good restaurants. GM Peter is working hard to bring the staff up to top notch standards. The pool is fabulous, with comfortable lounges, plenty of towels and unbeatable view. The bed was comfy, the balcony a great place to read and relax, shower was just fine and the A/C was needed only at night but it worked very well. I wouldn’t hesitate to return! We have a Gin Rummy game to finish with Peter! 😉

Lovely bungalows on a beautiful beach”

Our bungalow was very nice and clean. We loved the terrace with a view on the beach which turned out to be the best on Ko Mook island.

Great location. Totally overpriced ”

Go here and bask in the phenomenal location. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was adequate and the internet worked most of the time. Just BE AWARE that this is not worth the money it asks for. It advertises as 3 stars and it’s exactly that. But to be fair I had read previous reviews of the same ilk and still booked. The beach front location on white coral sand with the turquoise waters right in front of you is it’s biggest seller. Enjoy...if you go....

stunning location but overpriced”

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was large and the restaurant was on the beach and they'll put the table shore side with candle around in the evening. The room is clean enough but is a basic bamboo style which is rustic and I liked but for the price I'd expect more. The location is perfect, 5 min walk through the woods to the village and this side of the island has much more private beach and restaurants.

Exceptional”

Loved the beach and the high and low tides. We enjoyed lunches at the bar, great food and friendly staff. We enjoyed the breakfast on the beach. Beautiful Grounds with lots of newly planted trees and flowers. Super comfortable bungalows with great views!

Nice sea view”

We stayed 3 nights and found the beach front bungalow quite nice and clean, but to small for 3 people as there is no space for an extra bed. The ocean view was lovely and the quiet beach and the warm sea were very nice. Food was very good, as was the service. Internet connection could be better.
