Worth every penny”

My husband and I initially stayed 2 nights at Railay West but was not very satisfied with the hotel. The beach was great but price was expensive for its facilities so we decided to move to the East side where Avatar Railay is located. The East doesn't have much of a beach (to sunbathe or hangout) as there are mangroves but it's walking distance to the West side (where the beach is located). Pros: - Reception is easy to find and very friendly. We arrived around 12pm and were given welcome drinks and told our rooms weren't ready yet — that we'd have to wait until 2pm to check-in but they were happy to hold our luggage for us. They offered us to hang out by the pool while we waited. 30 minutes later the staff picked us up from the pool with our backpacks on his back and was happy to take us to our room. - The room was very clean, new and modern. Everything was to our liking and worked well. Wi-Fi, TV, AC, plumbing, doors, etc all worked well. - They had a nice balcony, with a pool view + lounging area that had a nifty drying rack. - It was nice that the toilet, sink and shower were all separated especially if you have more than 2 people sharing the room. - The pool was clean and new. Had a few floaties for you to enjoy. - Guests were mainly couples or families, so it's fairly quiet. Although a few groups of people can get occasionally rowdy (not drunk rowdy but more happy rowdy) - Breakfast variety was good and quite delicious. - Staff were always friendly and would greet you whenever they saw you. Cons: - Dining at the restaurant (other than the free breakfast) was relatively expensive. We ate out because of this. - Some mischievous monkeys would come swing by to disturb the cleaning crew and their kits so try not to leave food / trash outside your door and balcony. Other than that we loved our stay at Avatar Railay and would recommend it to anyone!

Relaxing poolside room in a newer hotel on Railay East”

We recently spent three nights at the Avatar Railay Resort and we were quite happy with our stay. We booked a poolside deluxe room, which meant that we didn't even have to leave the room to hop into the pool - amazing! The grounds of the hotel were nice, the buffet breakfast was quite good, the A/C was great, and the bed was huge! The resort is located on Railay East, which means it's centrally located yet much quieter and nicer than Railay West. I love that you get a glimpse of the famous Railay cliffs when you're in the pool. If I could change one thing, it would be that I wish the pool were located more in direct sunlight rather than long and wedged between the two halves of the hotel. But otherwise, we were very happy.

Best place I have stayed on Railay”

I cannot say enough good things about Avatar Railay. We booked the hotel when they were having a promotion, so the value for the money was very good. This is a newer resort, and everything was very clean. The room was quiet comfortable, with a balcony that overlooked the pool below. The pool was also really great. It rained a few days while we were there, so the pool was a nice place to hang out when the ocean waters were too rough for swimming. My only complaint is that the Wifi was not strong in the room. We had to be down near the pool area to get a strong enough signal to use it. Next time I visit Railay, I will book a room at Avatar for sure, only next time I will book a room with direct pool access :)

Perfect”

I would give six stars out of five for every aspect if I could. Excellent hotel with top notch staff, great facilities, beautiful rooms with balcony/veranda, a lovely pool that lights up nicely at night, and easily located from the east pier. Very clean and new, too. The hotel included lots of small touches that made my stay very pleasant - complimentary water daily, thick and fluffy beach and bath towels, comfortable bed, and even a handy straw bag for guests to bring to the beach. I initially booked the room for only two nights but I enjoyed the place so much, I extended my stay for two more. The staff kindly upgraded my room to a villa on the subsequent nights and it was just wonderful. I actually happened to be in the room while housekeeping was around and to my pleasant surprise, the lady actually changed the bedsheets instead of just making the bed like in most hotels. The tub was also scrubbed down. One thing to note though, is that as with typical beach resorts, both bathrooms I've used had residual sand from the previous guests - though I understand this is fairly unavoidable given that sand can be tricky to remove. I also had a tiny issue with the curtains for the standard rooms - may I suggest that they are hung differently so they open in the same direction as the sliding door - I felt like I was battling with the curtains every time I stepped in or out of the balcony. But really, these are really minor issues compared to my overall extremely wonderful experience at the Avatar Railay. Enjoying a cocktail (at happy hour prices, even!) by the pool was just heavenly.

Fantastic in every way possible”

We stayed at Avatar after checking out of another hotel early because of its condition. A local business owner we befreinded had recommended Avatar after hearing about our hotel woes. Avatar is the only place they stay when they want to live it up. We followed her recommendation and couldn't be happier. The resort is brand new and perfectly located on the east side of Railay right in between all of the bars and restaurants. Very near to the walking path so you can get to the different beaches in Railay West very fast. The staff at the hotel treated us like gold and was quick to attend to anything we needed. You can't go wrong staying here. We loved the hotel so much we wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect ”

We had a lovely stay at the Avatar Railay Resort. The staff were lovely and really helpful. The room had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool with a comfortable lounger and the room was big with a lovely big bed and a really good shower. It was clean and complimentary water provided daily. Bath towels and beach towels were provided. The swimming pool was always clean and the perfect temperature. Location only 5 mins to walk to both beaches which was perfect for us. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One thing that could be improved is the breakfast - tables were slow to be tidied up and reset for next customers and food/drink was slow to be replenished.

Exceptional”

We love Avatar Railay Resort. Great location, good food, clean room, nice pool, and we got a pretty good deal. The only downside is that it is not really 'adults only' as its name. There were a bunch of kids running around in the restuarant during dinner.

Exceptional stay in the villa at avatar resort”

The resort was conviently located and easy to find from the pier. Railay is a magnificent setting for a trip. The only con ( and it's a minuscule con) was the hotel is located on the opposite side of the beach however this means it's on the quieter side of railay and is only a 3 minute walk to the breathtaking beaches of railay. The pool was quite and refreshing ( a great way to spend the hotter hours of the day) and the breakfast was delicious and satisfying. Overall the resort is clean and tidy. (Staff speak little English but it is t an obstacle) our villa was spacious and comfortable. The AC blew cold air and the wrap around balcony was a great addition and perk. My favorite part however was the shower. It was its own room and had a waterfall shower head an amazing way to end a day washing of Salt and sand. To sum up our 5 night stay, we would most definitely return as well as recommend it to anyone considering a stay in or around railay beach. great value for money

Great place ”

Booked a villa room at the Avatar Came to Railay after Phi Phi - a welcome relief. Much more relaxed and laid back place Avatar located on East Railay (5 mins to West Railay Beach). Villa room was stunning. Huge bed, bath and great shower. Room was a great size. Well furnished and maintained to a great standard. Large wrap around balcony with sunbathing deck but we didn’t use it because of monkeys. Towels provided for swimming pool and beach. Breakfast was ok / similar to all places I stayed in Thailand. Would certainly recommend Avatar as a great place to stay

Very nice stay”

A very nice stay. Rooms have A/C, a nice shower with soap provided, all have decks, beach towels/bag, umbrellas and daily water. As others have written, the room design is a bit odd (needs more lighting by bedside, and door to deck is hard to open due to side opening curtains and furniture arrangement). Food is mediocre and staff speaks limited English, but these are less significant. The pool is very nice. Overall, a very nice place to stay, very convenient to beaches and Walking Street. Ao Nam Mao pier is much closer to Avatar if you have a bag to carry, although it strangely seems a bit less easy to get to from Krabi Airport than Ao Nang pier (going to Railay, no one at the airport/on the airport shuttle bus seemed to know what I meant by Ao Nam Mao, so I took the 150 baht shuttle to the longtail boat at Ao Nang and carried my bag across the island. But when I left Railay, I took the longtail boat from the pier right in front of Avatar to Ao Nam Mao and bought a 200 baht shuttle bus ticket from the tour company there).

Excellent stay ”

This was my first trip to Krabi!! And this Avatar Resort surprise me with the stay, location and etc When we check in the staff gave us a welcome drink. We chose the Villa which was really value for the money. Comfort stay, friendly staff, great location, about 10 mins walk to Railay West ( Railay Beach) . The breakfast was just average due to not much choices. But the rest is great I would recommend this Resort to couple 😊

This place is fantastic! Room: quite spacious, with a beautiful large bathroom counter with separated shower room and toilet room (hard to find in se Asia and very much appreciated!). The place was spotless and provided anything you would need; beach bag, huge soft beach towels, flashlight for walking at night, hairdryer, free instant coffee and tea in the room, fridge, bottled water, bath towels, bathrobes, etc. Our bed was comfortable and the AC worked like a dream. We had a great bathtub on a “private” porch, but we never used it. Aesthetically it was gorgeous, but functionally it made no sense... too hot for a bath outside and with barely any privacy! The lighting was my only slight issue, but this was only when it came to doing my makeup at night... really no big deal or necessary. Property: Yes the rooms are a bit close to each other and this might cause discomfort for some, but we had no issue. Everyone on the property was quiet and respectful, and we just kept our blinds pulled closed at night (there’s no view anyways). The pool is refreshing and clean, and we enjoyed that it was out of the sun. The beautiful beaches provide plenty of rays! East Railay Location: We LOVED the location! Being on the east side of Railay was great, everything is accessible and we liked being a bit hidden. Theres no beach on the east, but Phra Nang and West Beach take 5 mins to walk too, super easy. We also found that there were generally better restaurants on the east side, which was a bonus. But again, everything is within walking distance so why spend so much extra money to be on the west side! Restaurant: We only ate breakfast so can’t comment on other meals. However the breakfast overall was impressive; made to order omelettes, an asian dish with rice/noodles, hashbrowns, multiple breakfast meats, roasted veggies, baked tomatoes, croissants/breads/muffins, a small salad bar, a small fruit bar (usually pineapple, papaya, watermelon) with yogurt and museli, a f

Avatar in Railay offers everything you need for a great time in Railay. Perfectly located with adults only it provides an amazing vibe in order to enjoy your time. It‘s super clean and breakfast is amazing. Feels like a great boutique hotel due to it‘s limited number of rooms. I‘d love to come back!

Outstanding!!”

Fantastic and beautiful place to stay. Even as a solo traveler, I splurged on this place (a deluxe room) because it was my birthday. But compared to the other resorts in this area, this by far the best value. It was a short walk to West Railay Beach, the bars, and the food. I was hardly in my room as I was out on excursions or activities the whole time. The shower is amazing! If you are looking for a resort type place where you never leave the property, this isn’t the place. East Railay Beach is pretty, but not the stroll along the beach and sunbath pretty. I read a complaint about the pool, but who is going to be in the pool with such a beautiful beach nearby? The staff was impeccable and always greeted you with a smile. They had live music every night for entertainment but you could hear the music from the nearby ‘clubs’ going deep into the night. Not bothersome at all though. The resort was filled mostly with couples and families. I’m pretty sure I was the only solo traveler there Overall, I would highly recommend this place to everyone. I’ll be back.

Avatar Railay Resort is out of this WORLD!!!”

I can not say enough nice things about the staff and the facility at Avatar Railay Resort. We were upgraded from a deluxe room to a villa, and is was MAGNIFICENT!!! Very clean, and well decorated, the shower was better than mine at home. The staff was very nice and cordial during our stay, and the breakfast was AMAZING every day, lots of delicious options.

Could not recommend enough! Super affordable, extremely clean, powerful air-con, pool is also amazing. Just stunning really. This place was so good we extended our stay twice! When placing my booking I chose an extra large bed thinking it meant double and my goodness it was huge! I didn't see my boyfriend most the night it was that big. Only negative - breakfast was pretty naff. Lots of other great options on the island. Also, if you are heading to Railay, get your swimming in at the pool at the hotel and the sea has jellyfish.. I got a pretty bad burn and saw many others leaping out the sea after getting stung. Beach is great to hang out at though and plenty of cool stuff to do on the island. P.s if you are planning to go anywhere after Railay, buy tickets on the island! Not from the lady in Krabi by the boats! She will tell you it's cheaper but it's definitely not!

I would recommend it”

Great first impression as our room was ready to check in super early at 10 am. We stayed here for one night and it was absolutely worth it to splurge a little bit to get the pool access room. The only thing that would have made it better was if we were farther down the pool rather than the second down the hall since it wasnt all that private during peak pool hours when other hotel guests were using the general pool chairs. (We were in 106). The room was modern and well equipped with robes, towels, toiletries, coffee, tea, etc. Only downside to the room was the unpleasant smell coming from the toilet "room" (shower was in a separate "room") but this issue is common in Railay unfortunately. There is also a pretty large gap around the front door which let in enough light in the morning to be bothersome. Breakfast was buffet style with traditional thai options along with the option of eggs cooked to order. It was fine but nothing special. The location was fine as nothing is that far away on Railay, but travellers should be aware that this hotel is not right on the beach, its about a 5 minute walk to the beautiful west side.

Best place we stayed in Thailand”

This was our absolute favorite place to stay in Thailand. We had a pool cabana suite, which was so cool. We loved it. The facilities were clean, they paid attention to detail, the room was spectacular, the shower was lovely, the bathroom was spotless, and it was the most comfortable bed I've stayed at in Thailand. The food was awesome and the location simply could not be beat. I cannot say enough about this place, it was absolutely wonderful, and the next time I'm in the area, I would stay at this place with no hesitation. THANK YOU AVATAR RAILAY!

Ultimate Railay experience”

This place was the highlight of our trip to Thailand. From being greeted to the hotel with a refreshing glass of juice to their invaluable tips and information, Avatar is an absolute gem! The hotel is smaller than other resorts in Railay, but I think it makes for a more intimate experience. The breakfasts were very good, but the big draw is the room. Definitely splurge on getting a room with poolside access, it's totally worth it. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely return.

Very enjoyable stay”

We had to stay an extra night on Railay due to Storm Pabuk and our previous hotel could not accommodate us so we booked one night at the Avatar through Agoda at 9.30am. We went along about 11.45am and to our surprise our room was available and we were aloud access. Staff were very pleasant, totally opposite from our previous hotel. Room had pool access and was very well equipped, for our one night stay, even had a mosquito plug in machine! Only minus point was room was slightly dark. Had an enjoyable stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
