Baan Bayan, a resort with atmosphere”

I have had the opportunity to stay at Baan Bayan at several occations, and I also got married there last march. Baan Bayan is located just at the outskirt of Hua Hin and close enough to the central aeras to walk there. Hua Hin Marked Villa is also closely located. The rooms are magnificant. Some the old style from the place was a private home, and some newer, but keept in a nice style. The only slightly negative is that the shower are in the bathtube, and not every one like that. The pool is also a little bit small for active swimming, it is however just some steps down to the sea. In the high seasons it is a bit windy in Hua Hin so you need to be an early riser to be able to swim in the calm sea. Hospitality and service is great. The prices for soft drinks and food are a little bit at the high end for people with a normal income, but for a shot stay like 2 - 3 nights it is great.

Pleasantly Surprised”

Our trip was a last minute arrangement as we had to change our plans in Bangkok. We didn't have much expectations of Baan Bayan except from the reviews we read on Agoda. What a pleasant surprise indeed & we were so glad that we made this unexpected detour and ended up in Baan Bayan for 2 nights! Right from our arrival till our departure, the service we received was sincere and very friendly. Being a boutique hotel, it was more personal and very comfortable. It's beachfront location is perfect and hotel pool area had cabanas for you to laze on and enjoy the beach view. Will definitely return on our next visit to Hua Hin. Thank you Baan Bayan team!

Historic beach estate”

This was my first visit to Hua Hin. After a very enjoyable stay at the Bodhi Serene Hotel in Chiang Mai – we decided to stay at Baan Bayan (a sister property) for a few days of relaxation at the beach. As advertised, this property is ideally located just a few minutes from downtown. It’s also right on the beach. It shares many similarities with the Bodhi Serene Hotel. It is luxurious but subtle. This property is older than the Bodhi Serene but that’s what makes it special. The main feature of the hotel is the fully restored beach house that goes back generations. If you don’t stay in the original home, you will stay in a tastefully integrated modern facility with verandas and interior design ideally suited to the beach. Guests may opt for lounging on the beach where the hotel has its own lounge chairs and umbrellas. The beach area has much to offer in terms of water sports, horseback riding, etc. I preferred the quieter atmosphere of the hotel’s pool area which includes an intimate bar and restaurant as well as a few small open air “salas” for lounging in the shade. I recommend this hotel for families, couples or solo travelers alike who prefer a more private, personal and luxurious beach get away only a few hours from Bangkok.

Beautiful stylish hotel in brilliant location.”

The Baan Bayan is quite unique amongst the larger modern hotels in Hua Hin. With only 14 rooms it is small, quaint and intimate. We stayed in a Garden Room which was quite large, very clean and well maintained. The included Buffet Breakfast offered plenty of variety. Baan Bayan is a little south of the main part of town, but opposite the large Market Village shopping centre, which has much to offer in the way of shops and eating places. The Baan Bayan staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is clean and nice for swimming.

Excellent location with large rooms”

the baan bayan hotel has large rooms and is ideal for guests wanting a pure relaxing holiday. as this was our first visit to hua hin, we found the hotel to be centrally situated for shopping, night life and sight seeing. we spent most of our days around the pub and pool area. the friendly and attentive staff made our holiday so enjoyable that we will definitely consider another holiday at the baan bayan in the future.

Charming, peaceful hotel in Hua Hin”

Beautiful hotel and room, it was a real pleasure to stay in Baan Bayan. Breakfast is good, and everywhere you look there is a charming little corner and the details are just right. Our room had a beautiful balcony, the size was perfect,beds comfortable, wooden floor lovely. On the downside, it seems that prices fluctuate quite a lot and the pool is too shallow - more like a pond, as a decoration to the restaurant than a real pool. Having said this, it was a perfect stay and would stay again each time I find myself in Hua Hin.

GREAT HOTEL WITH ONE GREAT MINUS”

Baan Bayan is a fantastic hotel with great staff and can be truly recomended. However their was one big dissapointment with our stay. Baan bayan is located at the beach wwich makes it exlusive and expensiv in Hua Hin. They also advertised with the fact that they had their own private part of the beach. Howevwer it seemed like anyone could settele down and stay in their sunchairs one the beach wich ment that guests of the hotel didn't get any sunchairs. What made it sad was that these non hotelguests seemed to occupie the chairs from early morning whitout the staff concern and where easy to spot becasu of the towels they used. But a fantastic hotel and very clos to perfection.

Relax and enjoy”

Have just spent a lovely week at the Baan Bayan in Hua Hin, Found the Hotel and staff to be very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left, Room was nice and clean and spacious with a straight walk onto the beach, One thing that did annoy me was the price of a cocktail at the bar during Happy hour though,(5-30-7.30pm) They put a service charge on,(not unusual I know but then put VAT charge on as well, so for a cocktail that should be 230 baht you end up paying 273, Not really a Happy hour then especially as you can go across to Market Village and have a cocktail for 130 Baht in the bar called The Market and their Happy Hour lasts for 4 hours (5-9pm).

fantastic pool and beach ambiance”

after an extremely cold three week sojourn in Europe, I ahd wanted a quiet hotel with views and being close to the beach. the actual setting was as depicted on my internet searches. I booked this hotel as there were few negative reviews. we were so pleased that we did. we arrived very early and were shown our room straight away-great for us after the flight from England. the room was large, cool and airy. toilet and facilities were spacious. staff were polite and helpful. as noted in previous reviews, english was not widely spoken, but caused us no problems. we were on the ground floor in a "seaview" room. I would not book this again, as the view was restricted and being at ground level we could not open our curtains else people could see in. the upper room would have been better. most rooms have a private outdoor sitting area, ours did not ( except for a park type bench). however, the grounds had lovely lounging pavillions, so we used them instead. also the terrace adjacent the beach. food was not "haute cuisine" but filling and sustaining. it was easy to eat outside the hotel if we get the chance to return to Hua Hin, we would stay at the Baan Bayan again

excellent hotel with a character”

this is a rather small hotel with a very special character reminding the past. the service was excellent, the room was large, very convenient and very nicely decorated. we enjoyed a beautiful garden overlooking the beach as well as the beach itself. the breakfast was very good and very nicely served. the location is very good, in a walking distance to hua hin center, but not too close to the overcrowded part of the beach. the hotel provides one free shuttle to the famous night market. the main shopping mall of hua hin is across the street. there is a feeling of privacy as the hotel is not that large. the wifi works well in the reception area but we hardly could use it in our room. the swimming pool is nice but only 1.20 deep, which is a bit too shallow. apart of the breakfast we did not have food in the hotel so our opinion on the hotel food is only based on the breakfasts.

Excellent”

This hotel is in a great location on Hua Hin beach. A smaller and vintage hotel with its own charm - dont come expecting a Mariott or similar. Although the hotel seemed to be full for the long weekend, there were still available tables at breakfast, and the swimming pools were never overcrowded. The beach is beautiful and also very spacious and uncrowded. There is a very nice shopping centre Hua Hin Village Market within walking distance, with a Tesco and all the usual chain restaurants. Breakfast at the hotel was good, with more choice than I expected. As our room was near to the breakfast restaurant we did get woken each day by the clatter of plates, not an issue for us but it might be for others who prefer a lie in! The staff we encountered were all very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely stay again for another break in Hua Hin in the future.

Small intimate atmosphere. Very relaxing.”

We travelled with a four year old and a six year old. The hotel felt very safe and we were able to relax with our young boys. The breakfast buffet each morning was very pleasant, as were the meals served at the cafe overlooking the pool and beach. The staff were at all times kind and helpful. We appreciated the warning signs that Hua Hin beach has jellyfish so we settled for a mix of making sand castles, collecting shells and swimming in the hotel's two shallow pools. Hua Hin has a lot of sea front hotels but we couldn't imagine that most of them would feel quite as relaxing as this one with its elegant wooden facade and blossomed shady surroundings. Our room was clean and comfortable, the furnishings reflecting the relaxing ambiance of the whole resort. We are already planning to return, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to our closest friends.

Beautiful classic hotel direct on the beach”

I really like the old Baan Bayan Hotel with a lot of classic charm placed directly on the beach and 20 mins walk to the center of Hua Hin on the beach or on the main road. The staff in the reception is very friendly and helpful. The night market is very close only a few minutes walking.

Exceptional”

We stayed there for 2 nights and stayed in another hotel the next day. The 4th night in Hua Hin we decided to go back to Baan Bayan again!!! Great view, Nice staffs and good food. My friends and I really fall in love with Baan Bayan

Baan Bayan”

My husband and I live in Thailand, and went to Baan Bayan with my parents for four days when they visited. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax, and catch up with them. We found Hua Hin a little more expensive than other Thai beach resorts, and considering this we thought the deal on Baan Bayan was satisfactory. Other similar options are similarly priced, and if anything is cheaper, it will not have a beach view and access (except for Sailom).

we talked with a local guy during the trip to Hua Hin and he said this is the best hotel in Hua Hin. Indeed , it is. Very good and polite people. It is best for honeymood and fully relaxing holiday. Just spend half day in Monkey Moutains by taxi or by public bus ( green) and half of the time on white sandy beach which you could reach there with your pajama on and take a deep breath on the beachfront in the early morning with dawn light shinning into your eyes. !! Awesome!!!!

A great boutique hotel with a great location”

We were very impressed with the hotel, it's an older style hotel very well kept and with original features showing the past of a Thai family residence. They only have just over 20 rooms so it is very relaxing. Swim in the pool, get a massage down at the beach have a drink and or enjoy an evening meal under the roof at the pool listening to the waves in the ocean. It is not far to the best shopping centre in Hua Hin and you can go for a great walk along a 6 kilometre long beach to the monkey budda. The markets aren't far away, you are surrounded by many restaurants in Hua Hin, horse riding on the beach and water sport.

Overall opinion”

We visit Hua Hin often and enjoy the central beach locations in the area of Baan Bayan although this was the first time we had actually stayed there. The location is ideal within easy walking distance of the town centre either along the beach or road. The facilities are well balanced with two pools for either children (shallow pool) or adults. Nice bar for a quiet evening drink/meal and a pleasant out door breakfast area which is covered for inclement weather if required. Plenty of lounge beds on the beach or above in the garden. Overall a very enjoyable stay. My only point would be that the showers in the bath are quite high and a little difficult to step out of, you have to be careful not to slip. I would recommend some handle grips to overcome this problem.

Cozy nest in Huahin”

Light, provence style interiors of Baan Bayan Hotel are truly charming. We had a room with private exit to the garden. The furniture isn't brand-new, but looked good and stylish, everything clean. The layout of rooms is very unusual for hotel, feeling like home. Large bathroom is divided into three parts - bathtub, toilet and bodoir. Swimming pool small and actually not for swimming, but the hotel garden leads right to the nice and clean beach. Simple delicious breakfast. Definitely lovely and quiet place for relaxing. Overall hotel location is in the center of Huahin, main shopping center is 5 minutes walk. Can recommend Baan Bayan and will come here again by myself.

One of the best places I have ever stayed”

So what makes this place so great? It doesn't feel like a cookie cutter hotel where you are a number. It has a traditional feel with lovely rooms, wooden floors, airy space and awesome bathroom. Loads of storage space and a great fruit platter on arrival. Hotel is built over the beach with a walk down. Beach is clean compared to other areas of Hua Hin. Awesome mall across the street if you want food and snacks and shopping. Shuttle to night market. Lovely restaurant next to the pool at night the lighting in the trees is very romantic. I can imagine a great wedding location. They have a house cat and care for it which I appreciated. So many stray dogs and cats in Thailand that made me sad. As an animal rescuer I really appreciated that this one little cat was so loved by the hotel that I would stay here again for this fact alone. I know it's odd but it says a lot about people how they treat animals so they get big bonus points because of this. Kitty escorted me to my room every night too. Staff are so nice and polite and didn't seem to have their hands out constantly like in other Thailand hotels. Bird got me a breakfast to go when I had to leave early for Bangkok flight. Please can I go back?
