Hidden Gem”

I have never before stayed in a hotel that had "too much" room. But this is the case with the very nicely located but oddly hard to find Baan Din Ki. It seems to be centered over an enormous convention facility next to what until about a year ago the "Big Mall" (but now there are FOUR new malls in Chiang Mai). From the lobby, in one direction is an elevator to get in from the ground floor, in another the 4th floor the the mall (near the movie complex), and in another direction there is a path to the more expensive Lotus Hotel. There is no breakfast or room service at Baan Din Ki but you can just go over to the Lotus and have Buffet breakfast for 200 baht (6-10). If the mall is open there are many many food options. The hotel seems to me was at one time a very grand hotel with much custom wood work and large rooms, but now is older and inexpensive. Although older the rooms seem in good condition. The only bad things about the rooms is that the beds are only singles and there are no coffee makers

Money for value!”

We stayed at dozens of super five-star hotels but in a long stay like in Chiang Mai we prefer economic choices. Baan Din Ki gives us the best value for every penny we pay. Quite room, great mountain view, best location, nice staff and strong hot shower water! What else can you expect? Perfect choice we are lucky with this hotel.

Great hotel with good price”

The hotel is really good in every way. Located on the 4th floor of a shopping mall, so you can find anything you need right under your feet. The room is very good, clean and large with magnificent view from the window. It's a pity that I didn't book a room with served breakfast. Gotta choose Baan Din Ki again if I have a chance to visit Chiang Mai,

Excellent”

The staff of Baan Din Ki hotel is cheer and helpful. They will always allow you to leave your luggage at the reception after check out or check you in at 12 AM. However, there are a few cons: locked windows, which make it unavailable to have some fresh air; insects in the room (I met cockroach inside my). I know the price for one night is low, and the hotel is old, but you can expect to get more for that money in Chiang Mai.

Best Price, cleanliness and big rooms in Chiangmai ”

As compared to other hotels in Chiangmai. Baan Din ki is the most valuable hotel. Rooms are big, clean, aircon good, staff very friendly and very convenient to travel wherever you want to. It's just above the shopping centre and a little inconvenient to take the elevator to 4th level to check in, and then resume another elevator to go up to the rooms. So just try not to carry too many big luggages as there is no hotel staff to assist you.

Big room, big hotel, big breakfast spread ”

Stayed one night transiting. Certainly a good resting place if anything big. Looks like a convention centre with a couple of hotels. We were put in their Lotus Hotel, after walking to Bahn Din Ki entrance through the carpark to the fourth level. Staff helped to get appropriate price n size vehicles for our departure to the airport.

Excellent”

This hotel was located on a good location and closed to Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Mall, Lanna style traditional food center, food shops, convenient stores, local handcraft shops, city wall and Chiang Mai old town, and easy for travelling in Chiang Mai City and suburb by pubic transportation. The hotel has an old style with wooden decoration but really comfortable. Nearby areas are included with Chiang Mai Zoo, Wat Phratat Doi Suthep, and many attractive locations. If you choose to stay this hotel, we have a recommend to load the "Grab" application and enjoy to call a GrabCar service because Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Mall and Grab have a discount promotion for existing and new users. For staffs opinion, almost staffs are very nice and friendly especially reception counter and housekeeping staffs. Trust, please enjoy to stay this place on your vacation in Chiang Mai City.

Excellent value for money.”

The deal was excellent. For the price of a guest house, you get a spacious hotel room with a number of room amenities. There are also nice folk handicrafts in the room. The furniture is a bit old, but in good condition and the views of the Chiang Mai surroundings are amazing. Below the hotel there is a shopping centre with a super market and banks for money exchange. During the weekend there is a night market with bargain prices in front of the shopping centre. The staff and especially the chamber maids are very polite.

Valuable and affordable”

The hotel located in Central department store Kard Suan Kaew, very good for shopping and go to grocery (Tops Supermarket) You can get cheap price eating at Tops canteen and get some toiletries, milk, bread, fruits, liquor and everything all you need from Tops supermarket, You can connect to other place and and landmark of Chiang Mai by Chiang Mai city bus from hotel with very cheap price 20 baht. Hotel's staff are kindness and politely.

Awesome and worth you money”

It's best location in town, staffs were very friendly and helpful for informations. The room was greater than what I paid $$ for. I recommend Baab Din Ki for tourist who need convenient for easy access to transportation, locations ( all you want in your daily life just nearby), safe to walk around, and nice mountain view :-)

Basic hotel, great value”

I stay here when a quiet, clean room and bath are important, and I want to spend as little money as possible. Located deep inside a huge hotel/shopping complex, and connected to but not part of the large Lotus Pang Suan Keow hotel, Baan Din Kii hotel is just fine for a no frills, basic room to stay. Thai local food vendors on the air-conditioned ground floor of the connecting shopping plaza open their stalks at 11:00am, and have a nice selection of noodles, rice, juices and fruits. No fast food chains here, although there are some on the upper floors. Finding the 4th floor lobby for the first time can be a challenge. Worth checking out.

Good place to stay”

The room is decorated in old style but very nice with many hand-made stuff. It is too large for two adults and a small child, so you don't have to worry about not having enough space for resting. The lobby is very cute and large. The hotel locates at a very good area where you can walk around to visit other spots in Chiang Mai by walking on foot only. Even you take a Grab, it doesn't cost you so much. You can find food at the Basement of the building Kad Suan Kew cheap and delicious. I booked from Agoda when there was a promotion time, the cost is cheap. My family satisfied when staying here.

A good Budget Hotel”

Baan Din Ki is a good budget hotel in a good location on the 4th floor of Central Kad Suen Kaew Shopping Centre at the north west corner of the moat. It was the cheap wing of Lotus Pang Suen Kaew Hotel but the new owners are charging 700 Baht a night which is a lot less than Lotus did. In bad weather you can walk into the shopping centre forrestaurants, shops, massage, hairdressers, supermarket and cinema. The main entrance to the hotel is located in the lower ground driveway under the right side of the shopping centre into the underground car park but just before entering the underground car park there is a right turn out into an open area and ou can see a small sign for the hotel and the lift up to the hotel on the 4th floor. Out of the lift walk right about 50 yards to the reception desk manned by several bright young ladies who speak good English. Rooms are large with twin beds and free WIFI. There is a TV with BBC and other English programs but there are no coffee or tea making facilities and no in room safe but safety boxes are available at reception. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom has a walk in shower. There are many tuk tuks parked outside the shopping centre so transport is not a problem and if you hire a car it cost only 10 Baht to park in the multi-storey car park. If you go up to Parking Level 8 you will be at Shopping Level 3 and just one floor below the hotel. Unfortunately the shopping centre only opens at 1000hrs and closes at 2200hrs so access cannot be made to the hotel through the shopping centre at other times. One customer said it was dark and dangerous for women to use this hotel. As a frequent visitor I disagree even late at night there are quite a lot of security guards around and the location is quite safe.

Good location and value for money”

Baan Din Ki is located in a prime area of Chiangmai city center which is very convenient. Room size is large more than enough for two guests but facility is a little lower than expectation, although we got a room at cheap price which is value for money. Another negative thing is that in order to get to the room you have to take a long walk from outside of the building to the first elevator then move with another walk to the second elevator, anyway this is not a big issue.

Exceptional”

Situated above a Shopping Centre. Everything you need is there (Shopping Centre). Staff was Friendly even though they could not understand much English. In a busy Street. Other Shops close by, Eating Places. Walking Distance to Chiang Mai City.

Worth for value, but location is a challenge to guests”

Good price for the central location of Chiang Mai. Easy to get taxi/ songtheo/ bus ride from here. Room is on the 4th floor of a shopping central and we could have a good city view from the window But as it is on the 4th floor of a hug shopping mall with 2 different wings, it took me 30 minutes walking around the mall, asking many people (almost all of the locals didn't speak English) to find the way to enter the lobby hotel. Finally, we found it in another wing of the building after a long exercise-walking :))) If the hotel has a clearer direction when booking is confirmed, it would be easier for guests There's no soundproof wall, we can hear sound from next door room's showering so clearly at midnight

large inexpensive rooms in a decaying mall”

I knew what to expect from earlier reviews and I basically got what I expected - large, dated former 4-star rooms. For the same price or less than what many basic backpacker hostels charge. Location was great for me on the 4th floor of the ramshackle and somehow spooky KadSuanKaew Mall. Easy to get to anywhere from here. Tops Market and two simple food courts on the premises

Value for money with a fantastic view.”

The rooms are very big and have all the amenities. There is a fridge which is indispensable in Thailand for keeping fruit. The bathroom is nice because the shower is separated, thus the rest of the bathroom stays dry. The beds are comfy and there are enough comfortable chairs. The cleaning staff are very friendly, especially the girl from Myanmar. They have tidied up the room well. There is Tops supermarket in the same building that does not use plastic bags on Tuesday. A big compliment for that. Please do NOT go to 7-Eleven. They are destroying Thailand with excessive use of plastic bags. Across Huay Kaew Road, next to a massage parlour, there is Thai street food with bargain prices. The food is awesome. It is the best place for cheap, yet delicious food.
