Ao Nang Gem”

My wife and I spent the last 3 nights of our Thailand Honeymoon at the Ban Sainai Resort as we wanted to have a few days to do last minute souvenir shopping in Ao Nang after having spent 8 glorious days on West Railay Beach. After reviewing many Ao Nang Hotel customer comments the Ban Sainai Resort really stood out and justifiably so. The hotel is set in a beautiful and tranquil setting with great views of Limestone Cliffs from the equally impressive Hotel Pool. We loved the fact that the resort is located away from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang but it is easily accessed with the free hotel shuttle service or as my wife and I did, walking from town back to the resort is an easy 15-20 minute stroll. The rooms at the Ban Sainai resort are very generous in size and comfort and there is a great veranda with a day bed on it. The hotel also decorated our bed beautifully with a sculpted towel and flower arrangement on account of us being on our honeymoon which was a nice touch, We also received a lovely fruit platter which I think all guests receive? Sang the Hotel Porter is a lovely guy and if you ask him he can point out some fantastic local restaurants you would not find on your own. The resort food is also very good if you choose to just stay within the resort. The only negative points we found were that when in the pool there is no shade. It is fairly exposed due to the fact there are not many trees surrounding the pool area to provide natural shade. We also discovered that when the paths within the grounds become wet they turn into ice skating rinks so just beware if wearing thongs etc. Overall my wife and I found the resort to be fantastic and the staff welcoming and we would definitely recommend staying here for your Ao Nang visit.

Modernised Kampong Living”

If you come from a city and staying in high-rise buildings most of your life, this is a good chance to stay in a kampong-style resort while in Krabi. The staff are super friendly and helpful, the cliff landscape with lush greeneries are captivating, and the place is super clean. With only 25 cottages, you almost feel like you own this kampong paradise. The swimming pool is usually empty, and the breakfast "hut" housed only 3 - 4 other couples. I don't know if it's due to a low September season, but when I booked this resort, I got the last room and all 25 cottages had occupants - still, the area is so quiet and peaceful - maybe everyone left for sunrise. Being the number 1 ranking resort in AoNang, I have to be frank and advise others that if you are looking for a super modern, beach-facing, luxurious resort, then Ban Sainai is not for you. I would not think that this resort will beat the 5-star upscale resorts that has infinity swimming pools (and probably packed as well) but it is certainly a gem in its own right. I didn't have any insect issues - didn't use any of the insect repellent and mozzie wipes! Tips: 1) Book an airport transfer with Ban Sainai at 600Baht if it is your first time in Krabi. It costs the same if you book a "taxi" (well, it's still a private van/car by a private company), so might as well book it with Ban Sainai. 2) Ban Sainai offers free daily tuk-tuk shuttles at specific timings to Ao Nang McDonalds, however, the last pick-up time ends rather early around 9.15pm. 3) You can rent a car (THB1,200/day) or a bike (THB250/day) from the Ban Sainai reception.

WHAT IMPRESSED US MOST ABOUT THE RESORT IS THE EXCELLENT SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE STAFF AT THE FRONT OFFICE, THE RESTAURANT AND ALSO THE CONCIERGE. THEY WALKED THE EXTRA MILES TO MAKE OUR STAY COMFORTABLE. VERY HELPFUL FRONT OFFICE WHO WENT ALL OUT TO ACCOMMODATE LAST MINUTE CHANGES TO OUR BOOKINGS. THE RESTAURANT STAFF WAS EVER WILLING TO TAKE OUR ROOM SERVICE ORDER EVEN WHEN LAST CALL FOR ORDERS WAS OVER AND THE CONCIERGE/DRIVERS WAS READY TO HELP YOU OUTSIDE THE SPECIFIED TRANSFER SCHEDULE. THEY OFFERED THEIR SERVICE WITHOUT US HAVING TO REQUEST FOR IT AND ITS ALWAYS SERVICE WITH A SMILE. THE RESORT SETTING IS BEAUTIFUL,QUIET AND SERENE. THE BREAKFAST SPREAD IS ALSO EXCELLENT WITH CHOICES OF ASIAN AND CONTINENTAL BUFFET, SALAD,FRUITS,DESSERT AND GOOD CHOICE OF FREE ALA CARTE. WE WENT TO THREE 4 STAR HOTELS DURING OUR STAYS IN AO NANG BUT BAN SAINAI RESORT MAKE THE OTHER 2 HOTEL LOOKS RATHER LACKLUSTER. I EVEN SUGGESTED TO THE STAFF OF ONE OF THE HOTEL TO GO TO BAN SAINAI TO LEARN WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT BECAUSE OF THEIR PATHETIC ATTITUDES TOWARDS CUSTOMER. IF EVER WE WERE TO RETURN TO AO NANG, BAN SAINAI WILL DEFINITELY BE THE RESORT OF CHOICE.

Great resort with great staff and pool”

Stayed at this hotel for 4 days and even though it was not along the Ao Nang beach we had no problems getting there everyday as the hotel provides a free shuttle service to Ao Nang beach and back to the hotel every 2 hours. The hotel is located in front of a cliff face and the view is just spectacular, especially from the pool. Being away from the main road, the hotel is quiet and peaceful all day long. Our room was clean, spacious and well furnished. We really liked the way the cottages looked and it really felt like we were staying in a nice little village in Krabi. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Pom. She told us where the best beach spots (Phranang Cave) and restaurants (Khua Thura) were and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Even the drivers were great as they would send us to the beach even if it was between the fixed shuttle timings for free. We managed to save quite a bit of money thanks to them. Overall, Ban Sainai is a great place to stay if you're in Krabi. The views are amazing, the surroundings are quiet, the rooms are huge and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The salt water pool is very big and it faces the amazing cliff face which makes it an awesome place to just chill out. We would definitely stay at Ban Sinai again if we are ever in Krabi.

Excellent Resort with amazing Hospitality”

I would sincerely appreciate each and every staff present at the resort for their outstanding hospitality. Apart from that, the cottage in which we stayed was so comfortable, spacious and clean with all facilities available in it. Nestled in a vegetation land, the entire stay was so memorable and enjoying. The resort's free shuttle service to Ao Nang beach is an added advantage and the breakfast served was delicious. And not to forget, their welcome drink made of the Butterfly Pea flower is highly refreshing after a long tiring flight. If at all I will be travelling back to Krabi in the future, for sure this is gone be my place without any second thoughts at all. Therefore I seriously recommend it to anyone who would love to stay under a calm & peaceful surrounding, away from the bustling city life. Kudos to the entire team of Ban Sainai resort!!!

SECOND VISIT~! ”

We stayed at Ban Sainai during my first trip to Krabi and liked it so much we decided to go to Krabi again so that we could go to Ban Sainai again. The resort grounds are beautiful! Friendly and helpful staff! GREAT food. It's a little far from where most restaurants and shops are located, but the resort provides free shuttle regularly so going out for meals was never a problem. The AC in my room did not work properly so we were given a nearby room to sleep in while we left our luggage in the room we were originally assigned (we were with another couple in the family cottage so we didn't want to switch rooms unless we could all move together and be next door). The AC was not fixed before we checked out but the second day was cooler than the day before and we decided we didn't need the AC to sleep. The staff was extremely professional in handling the situation, making sure we were not inconvenienced any more than necessary. We are thinking about making Ban Sainai a regular destination for future vacations (yearly or bi-yearly).

The gem of Ao Nang”

Ao Nang is a bit of a ticky-tacky spring break-feeling beach town mainly notable for the chance to take a cruise amid the giant outcroppings in the Andaman Sea, but Ban Sainai is a wonderful, quiet and restful property that feels a million miles away from the beach scene. (It's Muslim-owned and no-alcohol, contributing to the lack of rowdiness.) Beautifully nestled up against the sheer cliffs, it has a mix of bungalow styles shaded by palm trees, with an infinity pool looking out on the cliffs and a restaurant overlooking a lagoon. Rooms are simple but kept up well, with good showers and pleasant patios to relax on. Service was outstandingly friendly and helpful, while the restaurant was of high quality (comparable to many of the restaurants in the town). The price is probably at the top for Ao Nang but by US standards, a relative deal. All in all, one of the best places I've ever stayed, and I'd happily go back any time.

We have a very pleasant stance in the Ban Sainai Resort. The hotel have a impressive views to the cliff and everything was in perfect conditions, since the big garden areas to the room cleanliness. Free shutle to the center of Ao Nang is available at convencience hours, wich it's great to organize your visits to the beach area. Staff from the hotel was very polished and very very helpfull with everything. Specially the hotel manager who makes us feel like at home. The pool was impressive and very relaxing with the great views to the cliff. I will strongly recomend this hotel and i wish to come back there anytime soon!

Luxurious, Quiet & good value”

This resort is set in a beautiful surround with hills and greenery everywhere. I stayed here in July 2017 in the beautiful spacious Coconut cottage. I couldn't ask for more with a generous room a huge bathtub Awesome breakfast at the beautiful restaurant (must try). Ban Sainai is 1600 metres from Ao Nang beach. The resort offers a drop off and pick up service at set times to Ao Nang beach. The swimming pool is stunning and you could book a massage at the pool side. From helpful staff, awesome food and quiet serene surrounds, this is a perfect place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Ao Nang.

Best in Krabi”

My family and I were amazed by the landscape, service and the hospitality in Ban Sainai. During our stay there, the staffs there provided their best services and everyone was so polite, friendly and thoughtful. Foods are good, and you can chill by the poolside with amazing cliff view. We got a triple premier room and you can see everything had been provided including beach bag, slippers and the highlight is the complimentary banana chips. It is a boom! We had brought back few packs as it is so DELICIOUS. The resort is located around 10-15 minutes to the main road in Aonang. The resort provides hourly shuttle van to bring those who want to go to Aonang. Worth the price and I definitely will choose Ban Sainai for the next trip to Krabi. Once again thanks to the crews and management.！

Jaccuzi villa for 2 nights”

Stayed at the Jaccuzi Villa for 2 nights with my wife & infant kid. Our stay at the Resort was kind of spoiled by the weather as it rained throughout the whole time. Never got a chance to use the swimming pool & other facilities, so can't comment much on it. Location wise, it is quite far away from the Ao nang beach, shops & restaurants. It is really like staying in a countryside nature area with lots of greenery and away from noisy town. The only way to get out is either to take their free shuttle bus that drops you at the Ao nang MacDonald or get the staff to help you call a taxi pickup for 100baht to Ao nang. Breakfast was not bad, there are both buffet style & ala-carte orders (2 ala-carte items per person). You might find the variety of food little repetitive if staying for many days. As it rained throughout, we ate at the Ban Sainai restaurant for 2 nights of dinner and the food was really good. I have tried the pineapple fried rice, tom yum fried rice, burgers, chinese kale vegetables, mango sticky rice and all are some of the best i ate in krabi. The prices are similar to the restaurants found in Ao nang beach area, and the standard of the resort food is much better. Room wise, the resort provided a baby cot with mosquito net for my kid which i appreciate as there are lots of mosquitoes in krabi. Another thing to note is that there will be bugs, insects, ants that might enter the villa/room as the whole resort is surrounded by lush greenery. My disappointments are the Villa Jacuzzi water pump system was quite dirty. There are many specks of dirt, hairs, dead insects stuck somewhere in the Jacuzzi pump, and its an ugly sight whenever i tried to switch on the Jacuzzi.. End up i didn't dare to use the Jacuzzi. Another issue was with the non-portable tap water, it is really quite dirty. I didn't want to use it the wash my kid milk bottles & utensils..

Beautiful rooms, great service”

Ban Sainai was a beautiful hotel with great value for money. It had everything we needed (with the only disadvantage being that it was a little further away from the beach but they provided a shuttle back and forth). What I really want to highlight was the exceptional service. When booking tours, ferries etc... the staff really went above and beyond in helping us have our best possible stay. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention one specific occasion where they really helped make our stay fantastic. On our last day while checking out of the hotel, I had left my kindle in my room. I had discovered that I had forgotten my kindle when on the ferry to Koh Phi Phi - but didn't bother contacting the hotel because I knew that I would have no time before going to the airport to catch a flight. The hotel staff took the initiative to contact my friend by email when they found my kindle and arranged to drop it off at the ferry docks (which are quite far away) so that I would be able to make my flight. I was incredibly impressed and would ABSOLUTELY recommend the Ban Sainai report to anyone staying in Krabi!

Some Hotels set the standard”

I read the reviews on Ban Sainai before picking this hotel and all the reviews were correct. This is an awesome property maintained by an excellent, well trained staff. A creatively constructed property with good room interiors. However very few hotels manage to surprise their customers with their service and Ban Sainai did that for me and my husband. We had a very early checkout and just to test the staff I requested for a breakfast parcel .I really did not think they would manage to accommodate that at 6 am but the hotel staff was ready for us at 6 am with two breakfast bags. I was impressed. One point against the resort though is that there are a lot of constructions in the neighborhood and it is a little away from the beach but they make up for it with an excellent and on time shuttle service.

The location is good, walking distance to main street which you can all the food and shop, night market nearby. If you are lazy to walk, they even provide shuttle bus every 2 hours. The room is brilliant, very clean n nice design, not even an ant or bug. Its in the beautiful nature garden with incredible cliff view. Quiet and relaxing. If you want to go tour, the front desk provides the tour menu with different companies, they will help you to book with reasonable price. You dont need to be trouble with budgeting. The was an small accident happened in our jucuzzi room. The house keeper forgot to clean the trash bin, also the jocuzzi didnt have enough hot water. But the stuff solved it as soon as possible, they are very very helpful n nice n friendly. They gave me a letter to apology, with a small gift. They tried their best to help, especially the front desk manager OH, he tried to provide all he can do to make us had pleasure stay without affecting by the mistakes. I am relly thank them. I am strongly recommend this hotel, and if i come back to krabi, this will be my first choice.

Beautiful resort nested in a garden with good cliff views”

We had a pleasant stay with Ban Sainai. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful not to mention the food selection for in-cottage dining was delicious and halal. The whole place was a very scenic garden and well-kept with plenty of places to take photos with the magnificent limestone cliffs in the background. The breakfast restaurant was good and the staff gave guests a chance to feed the fish in the lake. There were only two gripes: a lot of mosquitos, sometimes inside the room and a bit too far for walking to Ao Nang beach, although the free shuttle service was a big help. But overall, would recommend for those who want a more garden-like getaway with good service and halal food!

Exceptional”

Beautiful hotel with AMAZING staff and rooms! We absolutely loved our stay and this place 100% deserves its ratings. A little way out from Ao Nang beach area but not particularly a bad thing. We often walked down and back to the beach which took about 10-15 minutes but plenty of lovely places to stop along the way as well as some awesome food stops! The hotel provides a shuttle bus if you don't fancy it. Taxi / TukTuk are reasonable costs coming back and a great experience. We didn't try the restaurant in the evening but I must say the breakfast was lovely and a great setting. We had a superb price for a Lake View Cottage and I would like to personally thank Ban Sainai for a memorable holiday! We are back in January and hope we can stop by to say hello!

Impressive resort with breathtaking views!”

We stayed for 3 nights in Ban Sainai.... We arrived at the resort and was immediately captivated by the breathtaking view of mountains. We were welcomed with a cool drink and the check in was fast and smooth. The hotel staff was very patient in explaining the facilities available in the room. The toilet was designed creatively although one of the window shade was not working. The fragrance of the body bath and shampoo was pleasant! Next we visited the pool which was situated in middle of the resorts surrounded with the coconut trees and mountains. The view was incredible, unforgettable! Although the hotel was of some distance to the main town, the hotel provided regular shuttle service to and from town which was fast and PUNCTUAL. We enjoyed watching the sunrise while having breakfast. Overall, it was a great stay and we hope to pay another visit to Ban Sainai in the near future!

My group enjoyed our stay there very much.. The 6 of us have no problem conversing in English and Bahasa Malaysia with e friendly staffs.. Everyone was down to earth and sincere when serving.. Love e free shuttle service to Ao Nang Beach.. And e spa recommended by e hotel was very gd.. Very comfortable bed and huge room..Wished we had stayed longer.. Will be back to krabi.. And to Ban Sainai of course.. Thk u for making our stay wonderful.. And to front office staff Ms Sophia.. Ur a sparkling gem.. Thk u 👍

Highly recommend this lovely resort!”

It was absolutely amazing to stay at Ban Sainai resort! From check-in to check-out everything was perfect. The staffs were very welcoming with nice smile. The room was very clean and lovely. The view was great. Also breakfast was very nice. I can’t say anything bad about this place. If i come back to Krabi, i will definitely stay here again. Thanks to the all staffs!! I highly recommend Ban sainai resort :)
