Comfortable, Clean, Ambient Hotel in Old ChiangMai”
The Bodhi Serene was an ideal place to stay while in Chiang Mai. It is within the walls of the Old City, but only a 5 minute walk to the east gate, and 15 minute walk to Wat Phra Singh. The rooms are clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. While the mattress was rock-hard, the bedding was comfortable. The shower and tub were modern and spotless. In Room #122, we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, overlooking the fountain in the courtyard, while taking advantage of the free wi-fi (great reception) or reading a book. The pool was also a comfortable place to relax after walking around the city. The breakfast buffet (included in the price of the room) was tasty, convenient, and offered a great selection of fruits, breads, hot dishes, and made-to-order eggs. The hotel is small, quiet, clean, and beautifully decorated. The staff is extremely polite and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to young and old couples and business travelers over families with children.

Beautiful hotel with an excellenct staff!”
I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone I know that is planning on staying in Chiang Mai! The staff goes above and beyond excellent customer service. We especially appreciated Kao as our server every morning, afternoon, and evening he would greet us with the biggest smile. I had needed feminine products and could not find them anywhere, and Kao went out of his way to go to the store and get them for me. He didn't have to do that, but he did & any female knows that's going out of his way! Our rooms were always well kept, and is beyond spacious. The services they provide are done in excellence at all times. The grounds are serene, as the name describes the place. The only thing that I could say that needs improvement would be the water pressure in the large jacuzzi tub needs to be fixed. We couldn't use it because it would've taken hours to fill it up. Other than that I would stay here over and over again when I am in Chiang Mai on my next travels. Thank you so much to all of the staff at Bodhi Serene Hotel in Chiang Mai.

Lovely, quiet hotel with loads of character ”
the bodhi serene is a lovely hotel, in a central location within the old city. it is set around a courtyard with lots of trees (including a bodhi tree) and a pond and upstairs is a perfectly sized pool, with a restaurant and seating area next to it. the rooms are peaceful and well designed, and the bathrooms are fabulous - with large walk-in showers and circular baths for two. the staff are charming. overall i thought it was very good value for money, and i will definitely stay there again when i am in chiang mai. the only drawback was that, breakfast costs an additional 300 baht if it isn't included in the room price - but there are lots of places just outside the hotel where you can get a very good breakfast for under 100 baht.

Nice Little Place with Northern Thai Touch”
The Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai Hotel was not on our itinerary at first. With our own vehicle, we would rather spend a night at a more secluded area. However, it was late and we didn't have a place to stay yet. With a quick internet access and a nice welcome talk of the hotel receptionist, we finally just booked ourselves here for a night. No expectation was made with this sudden change of plan. And we were touched by how friendly the staffs were. A hotel decoration is a charm with Northen Thai style yet combined with a standard of Western comfort. We were even surprised when entering our deluxe room to find a big round tub awaited. Our own choice of Breakfast selection was freshly prepared and served by the pool side (for there was some kinds of constructions going on at that time) ... Overall, we were happy with stay there.

Highly recommended - great location and big rooms”
Bodhi Serene is in the Old City part of Chiang Mai, and you can walk almost everywhere. There are markets, foot massage shops and temples galore, as well as authentic eats. Breakfast was included and of good value. The chef makes perfect poached eggs. Beyond breakfast, the restaurant menu is affordable and good quality. Check-in was swift. The room was spacious and had a great bathroom with a large shower and a huge tub. The hotel provides plug-in insect repellant, which was greatly appreciated. Keep it on while you're out of the room so you don't inhale too much of it. The hotel also provides a 7pm shuttle bus to the night market, which is a lot of fun. The hotel is gorgeous and serene, it lived up to my expectations.

Quite Retreat in the Heart of the Old City”
This hotel is nestled in the heart of the old walled city of Chiang Mai, set off on a quite side street, yet walking distance to many popular sights and local street markets. The rooms that look upon the interior garden pond have a very zen atmosphere, both day and night. The pool is small-midsize on a second level near the restaurant. We walked less than 5 minutes to the Saturday and Sunday markets, were we found many treasures. The tours arranged by the hotel were excellent, modern comfortable vehicle and a kind and knowledgable driver / guide. I would surely recommend the Bodhi Serene Hotel. Be sure to dine at the Hen Phen restaurant one evening for a nostalgic atmosphere! Enjoy!

Relaxing, centrally located in the Old City.”
The Bodhi Serene is tucked in to a quiet neighborhood and behind its walls lies the most amazing hotel in the Old City. The staff was not only friendly, but seemed very in tune to our needs and wants. Kao, one staff member, was especially wonderful and we had planned to give him a give tip before we left, but sadly, it must have been his day off because he was nowhere to be found. I would like to give him the highest recommendation. If we come to Chiang Mai again, I plan to book the Bodhi Serene for the entire stay. It was a wonderful place to be.

Great hotel in great location”
We staying at the Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai hotel located in the old part of town. The executive room was quite large and comfortable. Walking distance to many of Chiang Mai's markets and attractions. Staff were both effecient and friendly. American styled breakfast was included as part of our package. Would have preffered choice to including more local cusine. Restaurant food was excellant, however within 5 minutes walk there are many terrific restaurants to choose from.

Excellent hotel in the Old Town”
We have been going to Chiang Mai for many years and have stayed in many different places, but the Bodhi Serene is by far our favourite. It has a lovely ambiance, lovely rooms with balconies looking out onto a beautiful garden with water features. The breakfast area is beside this courtyard garden and it is a charming place to sit. The pool is clean and there are enough lounges with umbrellas to sit around and read and order a drink or a snack. The Bodhi Serene is surrounded by places for massages, bike hire, laundries, cafes and restaurants and close to the Sunday market walking streets. They have a shuttle each night to the Night Markets if you don't want to walk or catch a convenient tuk tuk. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are kept clean and fresh. Still my favourite place to stay.

Pleasantly surprised!”
I found the Bodhi Serene Hotel to be a pleasant surprise! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was well decorated, had a flat screened TV and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was exquisite. I took a bath in the very large circular tub, something I have never done before at a hotel. The shower was large, a walk in and very update. There was a safe in the closet which was convenient. The location was walking distance to the Sunday Night Market and a safe neighborhood to walk around and explore shops, temples, restaurants and massage parlors. There was always a tuk tuk parked across the street if you wanted a ride somewhere. They also offered many excursions and drivers directly from the hotel. We use a driver named Wasan who spoke good English and was a delight to tour around with. I think the hotel is an exceptional value and would definitely stay there again when visiting Chiang Mai.

Serene time at the Bodhi Serene ”
We took a trip to Chiang Mai for our wedding anniversary and liked the look of the Bodhi Serene online. We were not disappointed. The location is great, within easy walking distance of most tourist attractions in and near the Old Town (and only 10 min drive from the airport). The hotel staff are very friendly, the accommodations were spotless. The food, especially in the restaurant, was excellent. We normally avoid hotel restaurants because they are so expensive, but the prices here were cheaper than those outside. It was a tranquill oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle, and we would heartily recommend it.

Bodhi Serene Hotel - serene and elegant”
The Bodhi Serene Hotel has a charm you simply cannot find in the large chain hotels such as the Marriott or the Hyatt. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the decor very beautiful yet understated. It is perfectly located within the delightful Old Central City area, so I greatly enjoyed walking around the narrow streets, alleyways and lanes which abound with shops, sidewalk cafes and ubiquitous Thai massage parlors. This is my favorite place to stay in Chiang Mai.

A beautiful hotel set in gardens but perfectly situated for all that Chiang Mai has to offer”
Staying in Bodhi Serene Hotel was a sheer delight. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want to be near the centre of the town for all the shops and temples. It is situated just insde the old town, but you would never believe it once you are inside, as it is so quiet and peaceful. The rooms all face onto a water featured garden and are very spacious and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful; they can't do enough for you. After a day of trips and visiting temples, the pool and restaurant area is perfect fir relaxing and taking in some sun. I would not hesitate to book there again on my return to Chiang Mai in the future.

A perfect place to stay in Chiang Mai.”
Excellent. We really enjoyed the location with immediate access to the old city and everything in walking distance. We liked the 'serenity' of the hotel - quiet & calm after the hubbub of the streets with the gardens, the pool and room verandah for relaxing. We liked the authenticity of the hotel - we preferred to feel as if we were living in part of the Thai culture rather than in a western-style glass & chrome hotel which would have been very inappropriate in Chiang-Mai. We would recommend the Bodhi Serene.

Best hotel of the trip”
One of the best hotels I have stayed at yet. Aesthetically beautiful from the grounds to the rooms. Biggest bed (and comfortable to boot) and bathtub. Great double shower with lovely toiletries. Pool was big enough to swim laps if that's what you're into. Arrived very late and the kitchen prepared us dinner even though the chef had left for the evening and the meal was great. They also have tapas and cocktails from 6-8 with a guy on the guitar. Lovely way to spend the early evening. The staff helped us with all our needs from booking a cars and drivers to spa appointments. I cannot fault this hotel in anyway it was a pleasure to stay there and cannot recommend it highly enough. When in Chiang Mai the Bodhi Serene is THE place to stay

my bodhi is now serene”
This is a lovely hotel with a really boutique feel. The rooms are spacious and very well presented. The bathrooms are similarly proportioned and presented although the lack of any fan or air con in the bathroom made it a little uncomfortable at times. The staff were excellent and were helpful with any request, although the lady on the tour services desk is clearly not a hotel employee and is rather brusque and pushy. The pool was a god-send at the end of a hot day, and as with the rest of the hotel, it was always spotless. The hotel is very well located in the old city and within walking or cycling distance to most parts of chiang mai. The only downside of being inside the old city is that the neighbours are right up against the walls of the hotel compound and it can get a bit noisy when the local dogs get going but it's not a deal-breaker. Overall, we had a lovely stay at Bodhi Serene - the places feels every part of its name and was a welcome oasis of calm at the end of the day.

Beautifully serene”
The Bodhi Serene hotel is a really beautiful place to stay in Chiang Mai. Although it's slightly out of the way of the other major hotels, it's location is perfect in that it's very peaceful. It's also walkable to the night market, although the hotel does provide a free bus service to (but not back from) the market every night which is handy. The staff are incredibly polite and after our bike ride they provided us with cold towels and a refreshing drink to cool us down. The pool is beautiful and a lovely place to relax at the end of a busy day site-seeing. They also have two computers with free internet access. Great breakfast

Bodhi Seren in Chiang Mai (2nd Stay)”
This was my second visit to Chiang Mai and I returned to this fantastic little boutique hotel at the south eastern corner of the inner city. The place itself is an oasis and fully lives up to the meaning of the word 'serene'. The Hotel is nicely laid out around a courtyard that resembles the city of Chiang Mai. The rooms are large, have complimented by a large balcony overlooking the courtyard. Room decoration is elegant and modern, held in dark teak. The large bath tub adds a special touch to the room. Modern equipment (LCD TV, DVD player etc.). The pool has a unique design and supports the serene idea. Everything is easily accessible from the hotel and a free shuttle service to the night market can be booked. Free internet access in the library room completed the perfect picture. I will definitely return (again)!

We had a great time”
We had a great time in Chiang Mai and in the Bodhi Serene hotel. It's a nice quiet hide-away in the centre of the city. Would defenitely recommend staying here. If you are in Chiang Mai on a Sunday, don't miss the Sunday night market!!! Good shopping, good food and very very cheap. All locals seem to be out. No need to bargain as the prices are fixed and very low.
