We stayed at Mantra Sydney Central from 5 Sept to 12 Sept with our young children, and the location was a major highlight! It's a fantastic spot – walking distance to great malls, food areas, the light rail, and even Paddy's Market. We really appreciated the early check-in at 2pm on our arrival day – big thanks for that! One thing to note is that housekeeping services are limited; we were told we could request cleaning for just one day during our week-long stay. The room itself was okay, nothing particularly standout – I'd give it 3 stars. It had a balcony, which was nice. We didn't snap any photos of the room, but the location's convenience made up for a lot. Overall, if location is a big deal for you like it was for us with kids in tow, Mantra Sydney Central is a solid pick.
I talked with the staff member because they were Korean, and we started small talk about BLACKPINK, which was nice haha. It was my first accommodation in Australia, so I was a little scared, but they kindly welcomed me. They also allowed an early check-in and offered to store my luggage when checking out, haha. Another great advantage is that there are no insects!!! Also, the city view was nice!! If there is a downside, I think I need to specifically ask for new towels, and the elevator in the middle can be quite shaky, which might be a bit scary. Other than that, everything is good!! Since it's in the center of Sydney, you can walk to the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House! I recommend it. Also, since you need to pay a deposit, a credit card is essential.

The location is close to Chinatown, Paddys Market, and Hay Market. The Light Rail terminal is right in front of the hotel, and the hotel has 2 entrances, so if you order an Uber, the car can stop in front of the hotel at one of the entrances. For an apartment-style hotel in the city center, I think this is the cheapest option.
A great place to stay — right in the heart of Chinatown. It’s super convenient for getting around with easy access to public transportation. There are thousands of food options and bubble tea shops nearby. I would definitely come back. That said, some of the room facilities are a bit dated. The mattress was quite soft and sunken, which might cause back discomfort. There were no disposable toothbrushes provided, and the room wasn’t fully soundproof, so families with young children might want to take that into consideration.

Amazing location! Chinatown station right in front and Hay Market station a few mins down. Many food options around too. Walking distance to Darling Harbour, Town Hall and more! The complimentary upgrade to the 1BR apartment was a surprise, which made our stay even more memorable. The only downsides were the wear and tear, dark-lit room and lack of shower curtain, which made the toilet floor super wet after each bath. Room service also left our door open after she’s done cleaning our room. Thankfully nothing was lost/stolen. Staff could do more about being friendly too.
