My Stay at the Centara Grand Hotel in Bangkok”

I stayed at the Centara Grand Hotel just a few weeks ago, and was quite impressed by this new venue. Here are some of the highlights of Centara Grand: Spacious, clean, and beautiful rooms; very comfortable beds with lots of fluffy pillows!; spectacular view; excellent housekeeping and valet services; professional and courteous staff at reception desk, restaurants, and Spa Cenvaree; all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet; excellent (and discounted for hotel guests!) massage packages at Spa Cenvaree; amazing view at the Red Sky restaurant on the top (55th) floor of the hotel building; gorgeous paintings and artistic, elegant sculptures; access to the fitness centre and Spa Cenvaree; easy access to the Bangkok Convention Centre, cinema, and Central World shopping centre, in addition to the BTS skytrain and the nearby Siam Paragon and the MBK shopping centres... Please continue offering these wonderful features and amenities to the guests at the Centara Grand Hotel. If I should ever return to Bangkok, I would immediately request to stay at the Centara Grand above all other hotels. On the other hand, the first room that I stayed at smelled a bit moldy (and noisy due to the construction going on), so I transferred to a more pleasant and more quiet room. No strange smells at all. Also, as a vegan (that is, a strict vegetarian), I found my meal options were very limited (or zero) at the World restaurant, as well as at the other restaurants (such as Red Sky and 55). Please ask the chefs at the Centara Grand Hotel restaurants to create several delicious, vegan dishes for their customers who do not eat anything derived from animals. Thank you very much. I've already told several family members all about the Centara Grand and how much fun and relaxation I had there!

Centara Grand at Central World ”

My family and I are very pleased staying at Centara Grand at Central World. At the time we checked in, the hotel was over booked. We were instantly upgraded to junior suites with complimentary breakfast throughout our stay on the 51/F at the Executive Lounge. The service at Centara Grand was good. We received warm hospitality throughout our stay. The staff was attentive to our needs and the rooms were kept clean at all times. Most of all, we received fresh fruits every morning and bottled water supply was unlimited and complimentary. Most impressive of all was the LIVE broadcast from ESPN on Winter Olympic 2010 from Vancouver. We always managed to check scores and watched various contests without skipping a beat. Transportation to and from the airport was efficient. We were happy that Centara Grand used Volks Wagon van, which was a very safe and comfortable vehicle for hotel guests. Centara Grand is a hotel with personal touch. The next time my family returns to Bangkok, for sure we will stay at Centara Grand at Central World.

Centara Grand (Central World) has me feeling spoilt. I fly to Bangkok almost thrice yearly for the past decade and I have ever only stayed repeatedly in any particular hotel once. After all, Bangkok has an abundance of hotels/residential that leaves one spoilt for choices. That being said, my recent stay at Centara Grand has me thinking of abandoning the above and make this hotel my choice stay for all future trips. The attentiveness and hospitable warmth by their staff is not unnoticable. The room (I stayed in room 3010) is spacious yet comfortable, great view (I can imagine higher floors to be even better) and oh, what a bathtub/shower area (I like that it is round so you don't get bruises or feel claustraphobic showering). The front offce (e.g. my check-in was handled by a Mr. Pranaum or Prataum (apologies for forgetting his name) was smooth-sailing and his cheerful demeanour perfectly balanced, especially essential during this on-going Covid-19 virus situation. Housekeeping, concierge and the F&B (room service and Red Sky bar) teams were all of equal and consistent in their service standards, similar to that experience from the front office team. Even small gestures such as complimentary fruit bowl delivered in subsequent days of my stay were pleasant yet most appreciated surprise. Centara Grand (Central World), you truly are a place to be!

Comfortable hotel with commendable services”

This is my 2nd time stay at Centara Grand Central World Hotel. My first stay was pleasant but this 2nd stay was even better than pleasant. I actually did a very last minute booking via Agoda and was only able to get 3 Superior rooms for my families of 6 paxs. However, upon reaching the hotel, the staff surprised me by informing me that due to shortage of rooms, they have upgraded all our rooms to Deluxe rooms(at totally no additional charge). However, we would have to wait a while longer for the rooms to be ready. Hence, we left the lobby and went for our lunch, only to come back to the hotel for check in at a later time(around 1230pm). When we returned from our lunch, the staff politely apologised that the other 2 rooms are not available for check in but they have once again upgraded 1 of the rooms to Executive Suite room for my parents. I was totally taken by surprise by their good quality of service. In-addition to the upgrade, they even gave us multiple complimentary drinks vouchers for the lounge and Sky bar. I simply loved the service at Centara Grand and very soon, we will be returning back to this hotel once again. The hotel staff are amiable and polite and their room service is also very good and affordable. The hotel is also near to the shopping mall and most of all, there is no lack of choices for food. The hotel bakery located at level 1, ZING is one of my most favourite spot in the entire hotel. I am so looking forward to my soon-to-go visit Centara Grand once again. Definitely a worthy and comfortable stay in this wonderful hotel.

Fantastic location!”

We were a family of four spending a week in Bangkok. I booked at the Centara Grand going by the reviews from people who had stayed there. And I can vouch that they were not mistaken. Ultimately, it all boils down to the location of this particular hotel. This is located within The Central World Mall which houses a sizeable number of brands including Zara, H&M, Sephora etc. There is also no dearth of outlets for foodies (fast food fans or connoisseurs of gourmet food!). Just a 5 minute walk through the skywalk upto the largest mall that houses Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery which by itself houses all luxury brands you can think of. Just by this mall is the Siam BTS. If you are staying for a week at least, it would be worth investing in a Rabbit card that you can use to travel to major attractions anywhere in Bangkok. Regarding the hotel, our room was extremely clean with very efficient staff, front office, house keeping etc. We were welcomed with a voucher for complimentary tapa and welcome drink. All in all it was very memorable including the room service which was prompt with our orders. W are definitely looking forward to staying there again next year...without an iota of doubt, I would recommend this hotel especially if shopping and sight seeing Is your priority.

Relaxed, Enjoyable & Comfortable stay ”

I chose Centara Grand WOrld Hotel as my brother was participating in the Magic Gathering Grand Prix competition. We chose Premium World room as we wanted our room to be spacious and big enough to cater to the 3 of us(My hubby, My brother and I). I was taken by surprised when I stepped into the room as it was really big and spacious and most importantly, we were greeted by a nice smell still lingering in the room(freshener). The reception staff were friendly and my check in & check out was a breeze. The hotel even provided free internet access/wifi in our room 24/7(to my surprise as it wasn't included in my booking). The 6 days stay was rewarding and enjoyable to the 3 of us. The hotel is really close to the shopping mall and to the BTS. We had tried the room service and the food was really nice, most of all, the service was really good. I enjoyed the housekeeping service most as the staff would ensures that my room is being cleaned up daily with supply of clean toiletries and even shavers for my hubby and brother. We had dinner at Ginger on one of the special dinner nights(The Best of America). The dinner was great with free flow of red or white wine, indeed many choices of food and my brother liked the Hong Kong style Roast Pork best(though it's supposed to be America food). I loved their wide variety of desserts; the Coconut ice-cream is a must try. Nice ambience with window seat(called for reservation), overseeing the whole city of Chit Lom. The part of Centara Grand World Hotel that I loved most is their mini little cozy Pastry shop - Zing located on the ground level. Their pastries are very fresh and sold at real affordable prices. Not too many choices but you be able to find more than one best among all the choices available. Their Chicken salad croissant is a must try too! I would definitely choose Centara Grand World Hotel again as my choice of hotel stay. Good choice and good service with good amenities. Best choice ever!

Great hotel in an excellent location”

The Centara Grand is an awesome hotel to stay in Bangkok. We were staying in an Executive room and from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and great service. Our porter showed us to our promptly and even gave us an impromptu introduction to the hotel and the city. The hotel has great views of the city, especially from the rooftop bar! For people wanting to shop, the hotel is situated perfectly with the Central World shopping mall being right next door. Also, the Siam Paragon and MBK are a short walk away via the elevated walkways, of which there is direct access from the Central World shopping complex. We can't wait to visit Bangkok again, and we will definitely stay at Centara Grand when we do!

One of the BEST in BKK located in the HEART”

i stayed at this hotel for the second time now and it is undoubtedly one of the best in bkk. located on top of the central world shooping mall (biggest shopping mall in asia) and close to siam bts station (where the heart of shopping finds place: siam paragon mall, mbk, siam square, digital truemove) it is very convenient to get anywhere quickly. the rooms are nice clean and all of them provide a high-floor view over the city. spacious bathrooms feature a bathtub a big round shower. the lobby is beautiful staff is very competent and helpful. pool area simply awesome--- gym is actually the best i've ever seen in a hotel so far. (breathtaking view from the treadmills over the city). on top of that centara grand features the red sky bar on the 55th floor open until 1am everyday. best views guaranteed. only drawback is the price. everything is overpriced at this hotel. every drink, internet, business center, breakfast, it's more expensive than even in europe! for breakfast we payed 756thb. almost four times more than at aetas residences in bkk. for 5min internet and 4 pages printed we payed 220thb!! for thai measures very expensive. room price is ok tho'

Bangkok - A Shopping Haven”

Overall, our stay at the Centara Grand at Central World Hotel Bangkok was a pleasant one. Service was good from check-in to housekeeping to check-out, especially at the concierge, who helped us communicate with taxi drivers to get us to places using the taxi meter. Our bedroom was the cheapest on the list but very modern with a flat screen tv and a spacious round bathtub. We were not too pleased about having to wait for lifts to get from the ground floor to our room and vice versa, especially when we had to take two separate lifts, first to the lobby, then to the room, but if 'rush' hour is avoided, lifts arrive pretty quickly and almost empty. We absolutely loved the location of the hotel as it was central and had easy access to shopping and BTS. Other than that, we really loved the rooftop restaurant and bar on the 55th floor, which had a magnificent view of Bangkok as well as quality food and drinks.

Centara Grand at Central World Bangkok”

Stayed at Centara Grand at CentralWorld for 3 days in mid Dec 2009. Upon arriving, the porters promptly took our bags and directed us into the building. The ground floor lobby area is not where the check-in is done. This area is kind of like the concierge area. The actual check-in reception area is actually on the 23rd floor. The check-in was fast and we were given a room upgrade to one of The Club rooms on the 44th flr. The rooms are accessible from a separate lift which serves only the 23rd flrs and up. We were pleasantly surprised by the view from the room. From this level, we could see a rather large portion of the shopping area. This includes Siam Paragon, Mah Boon Kong (MBK) shopping centre and Siam Discovery etc. Although the view was not obstructed, I kinda wished that there was a balcony which we can go out to. Not a big problem, considering the air quality in Bangkok. The amenities in the room were great. The usual coffee making facilities, dvd player, flat screen LCD tv, free wireless internet access (very good speed), nice big bath tub, shower area, toiletries etc. Given all theses wonderful amenities, we felt that the room was little small to accomodate them all. That does not prevent us from giving it a 5/5 stars for room and amenities. The location of the hotel is very near to the shopping centres etc. The convention centre is right next door and the Central World Shopping Centre can be accessed through the Convention Centre if you care to explore a little. Meaning, no need to leave the hotel entrance in order to get to the shopping centre. Our only complaint throughout the 3 days is that the breakfast is the same. If it were excellent then we would have nothing to say but it was not that great. Food was about 3/5 stars. The 2 restaurants which served the breakfast are adjacent to each other on either side of the lifts. On the 1st day we ate at the Ginger restaurant. The service was above average and we think that this must be its slightly more upscal

Great central hotel”

Centara Grand at Central World Bangkok is a great hotel. Great location and so close to shopping in all directions. It is handy not only to central world shops on which it is on top of, but also all of the large Siam shopping complexes but also the Platinum fashion mall which one can see with a northerly view from the hotel which has 7 stories of cheap clothing. The staff were very friendly, the buffet breakfast was the best that we had in Thailand including prawn dumplings and the pool was quite warm as well. The room was still very new and clean. View was great as well. Red sky was great but pricey ( paying for the view)

Nice City Hotel”

We stayed at the Centara Grand at Central World for our last trip to Bangkok. The Centara is ideally located, if you wanna spend the rest of your Thailand trip in BKK with shopping. Siam Paragon, Central World Shoppping Center and MBK are only ten Minutes away (by foot). The Skytrain Station is reachable in ten Minutes as well. The staff in the Centara is very friendly and so helpful. The rooms are spacious and have nice bath tubes. There are several restaurants that you can choose from and especially the brunch on Sunday was amazing! There is a nice pool and a good gym as well. I could highly recommend the Centara Grand!

All in 1 hotel”

this was my 1st stay at centara grand. i was amazed by the great location of this hotel. it is just above the central world shopping mall. walking distance to siam paragon, which is just so convenient for me to go shopping. the room was simply prefect. clean, tidy, amenities were complete, up to date tv channels, free internet wifi connection in room and the room was cleaned perfectly on time everyday. the staffs are helpful and friendly. they were able to assist me with directions to chatuchak, suggested the best massage shop and best thai food restaurant. i would definitely return to centara grand hotel. and will also introduce to all my friends who are heading to bangkok for holidays.

Located at shopping area, near train station.”

This is the 2nd time that I'm staying at Centara Grand and Central World. The reason for doing so is because it's very near the shopping malls and train station, and also because of the pleasant stay we had last year. Furthermore, I think it's value for money. Upon arrival I requested for a free upgrade since we had 3 in our group for a triple-sharing room. I was expecting a "No" for an answer, which was what I got at first, because I knew that the hotel was fully booked. However, after taking a few more minutes, the hotel staff did give us a free upgrade to the Executive level although we were not entitled to use the facilities on that level. The room was slightly bigger than the standard room, which was fortunate for us, otherwise we wouldn't know where to put the extra bed. The breakfast was above average to good. Guests can go to either of the restaurants on the 24th Floor. The World restaurant is bigger and also more crowded than Ginger, and seem to have a slightly more selection of food, although most of the food in both restaurants are the same. But if you do not wish to queue, Ginger would be a better choice. The World seems to be slightly under-staffed due to the bigger crowd and therefore guests would receive less attention. The food is the standard combination of western (bacon, ham, omellette), thai (pad thai, fried rice) and other asian food (dim sum of har gao and siu mai). Being chinese by race, I would consider the dim sum below standard but try it if you like. The hotel staff are generally very polite and helpful. I had lost a folder which contained my hotel vouchers and airline confirmation during the check-in due to my carelessness but the staff did manage to keep it for me and I was able to get it back very promptly when I realised that it was lost. Room service can be considered a hit or a miss depending on how picky you are. For example, on the first day, the hotels and toilet paper were not replace. We had to ask for it

Worth paying for the convenience”

Not a smidge of regret staying at this hotel. we werent sure initially to spend the amount we did for Centara. for thai standards that price can easily get you bigger rooms newer establishments with more facilities. But if you r travelling with young kids, this is really one of the best choice in Bangkok. located in Central World getting off the elevator at 7th floor gets u to department store, eateries, cineplex and more. On the 6th floor theres a free to play playarea for kids. It makes getting back to the room to change, refresh or put the lil one to nap so convenient. Back to room beds was comfy and toilet was nice.we had a goodview of the Zen end of Central world and the pool and tennis court below. Lilone love the internet tv to watch his cartoons. if we are coming back to this part of Bangkok il choose Centara Grand in a heart beat again. If you are short on time and want ease to shop eat relax or play without worrying about foot traffic, ttaffic jam, populated bts,air pollution, rainy weather, staying here solves it all.

I was interested in the Centara Grand because of the reviews I read at Agoda. Overall, I agree with most patrons' view. The hotel location is so central there's virtually no reason to take a cab or those "tustus". It's about a 10 minute walk from to the Siam train station. On top of that the hotel sits smack on top of Asia's largest mall. In my 10 day stay in Bangkok, I couldn't even scratch the surface in exploring the mall. You practically don't need to get out of the complex. There are restaurants and shops galore from high end to kiosks and everything in between. Restaurants and a food court that houses an international grocery and liquor store. Small eateries, hamburger joints, pizza and ice cream parlors, smoothie stands, Indian, Japanese, Thai, American, Italian, and fastfood to just name a few. There are several movie theaters. About the hotel: Grand, huge lobby, nicely appointed rooms and a sexy bathroom that houses an oval bath tub in the center. There's a touch of modern flair with flat screen TV, pipe in speakers in the bathroom. I noticed that the a/c plugs are international, so no need to ask for adapter. No alarm clock, although I'm sure I would have gotten one had I requested. The view from our room window was panoramic. At New Year's countdown, it was as if I were seated at the front row without the hassle of a crowd and exposure to the weather. It was really cool. Unfortunately the bed was so uncomfortable. For 10 nights it was as if I were sleeping on a box spring. This certainly is an area for improvement. Other things I noticed was worn out maple vinyl drawers and cabinetry. Breakfast buffet is pricey so I recommend trying out the many restaurants at the mall. They open at 10 am. Internet is available for about $20/day. Room service was prompt, courteous, and eager to please. The hotel staff is highly commendable for their hospitality. Overall for the price I find this hotel a good value.

Deluxe World in Centara Grand at Central World BKK”

Centara Grand at Central World is a very attractive new hotel in BKK. I stayed at Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok, which is a sister hotel of this hotel, once, the hotel was quite nice with traditional atmosphere. However, Centara Grand at Central World is more than convenient, the quality of the equipment of the rooms are fantastic. You can enjoy the hotel's lovely atmosphere. The sight from your room is very nice both daytime and nighttime. Definitely I'll choose this hotel for next visit.

Centara Grand at Central World Hotel”

My favorite location to stay in Bangkok is always the Siam-Ratchadamri area, because everything is within easy access. Centara Grand at Central World Hotel was a superb idea, with the fantastic Supermarket, Cinema & shopping without ever stepping outside! I was upgraded to a junior suite which made it even more pleasurable. There were a few minor things that often occur in Newly opened hotels, but the staff was efficient and courteous and eager to make you a welcome guest. Loved the sumptuous breakfast!

Centara Grand at Central World”

The Centara Grand at Central World hotel is a 30 minute taxi ride from Suvarnabhum Air;port. It is located within Central World Shopping Centre, and within walking distance to Skytrain, Siam Centre, Platinum and Siam Paragon shopping centres on the Skywalk. The staff, services, restaurants and our room were top-notch. It was a little confusing getting from the hotel to Central World shopping centre, but apart from that, it was great especially if you love to shop!

A wonderful experience”

My children and I don't travel downtown too often. Seeing that we are all on summer break, we decided to do a staycation in town. And Centara Grand at Central World seemed like the perfect location. We enjoyed the room, the service, the swimming pool and food. We also enjoyed the proximity of the hotel to some of the attractions that we got to visit including Madam Tussauds, Siam Ocean World, Asia Books and Kinokuniya. My kids are already asking when we can book another staycation at Centara Grand!
