Chaweng Villawee Hotel (SHA Plus+)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"Aside from being under the flight path - which I didn't much notice anyway - this hotel has all you could want from a Chaweng hotel; it's modern, and clean, has a good breakfast buffet and is centrally located, close to numerous restaurants and bars. The pool is good, there's pretty easy beach access through the resort over the road and the rooms are a decent size at a good price"

Casa De Mar Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"This is a fantastic hotel in a great location North of Chaweng beach. It is easily a 15 minute walk along Chaweng beach into the hectic nightlife of Chaweng. However, the hotel is in a much quieter part and is a welcome oasis of calm. We stayed in the main building which has the superior rooms. They are spotless and more private. If u have mobility issues or young kids/prams then the garden bungalows may suit you more but are less private. The breakfast was excellent and lots of choice for everyone. The staff are excellent and friendly with everyone understanding any requests you may have. I really can't fault this hotel and I got a good deal through Agoda. Everything I booked was honoured. No hassles."

The Briza Beach Resort (SHA Plus+)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"OUR STAY AT THE BRIZA BEACH RESORT WAS GREAT. THE ROOMS ARE VERY SPACIOUS, MOSTLY OUTSIDE BUT COVERED. OPEN AIR PLUNGE POOL IS GREAT. BED WAS COMFORTABLE AND FACILITIES WERE EXCELLENT. VERY CLEAN AND VERY TIDY. BATHROOM WAS OUTDOOR WHICH WAS LOVELY. THE PROXIMITY TO THE BEACH WAS GREAT AND ALSO IT IS THE QUIETER END OF THE BEACH SO YOU DONT GET AS MUCH NOISE AS YOU WOULD IN CHAWENG ITSELF. THOUGH IT IS ONLY A 15MINUTE WALK TO CENTRE OF CHAWENG. HOTEL STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. FOOD AT THE RESTAURANT WAS GOOD AND YOU CAN EAT ON THE BEACH IN THE EVENINGS. BREAKFAST WAS ALSO VERY NICE AS A LA CARTE. THE RESORT ITSELF WAS VERY QUIET ALLOWING IT TO BE VERY RELAXING. IT IS MAINLY AIMED AT COUPLES. OVERALL IT WAS GREAT AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT"

Montien House Hotel (SHA Plus+)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"Great hotel, we stayed at Montien 4 times and always had good experience. Good for groups/families, they have a wide range of rooms from budget to pool villa or apartment style with kitchenette. Free baby cot provided, ask in advance to book all your rooms close to each other, they also do pick up/drop off to airport by email booking. Food & drink prices at hotel restaurant are very reasonable unlike most other hotels in Chaweng. Walk to everything incl Tops supermarket, Festival shopping centre, Coffee Club, 711. No waves at the beach, no noisy jets skis around, kids friendly. Lots of young people too staying at the new building."

Lub d Koh Samui Chaweng Beach (SHA Plus+)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"This hotel was build in 2019 so BRAND NEW. If you’re booking around March you can expect brand new furniture, A/C, cabinets and towels. Huge plus. Also, Lub D is in the purrrfect location on the beach (3 min walk to ArkBar if you brought your party pants) and also right in the best part of Chaweng. Only downside, from my room at least, you can hear some music from across he street during the night. "

Chaweng Regent Beach Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"just stayed at the chaweng regent in 2 spa villa rooms. we had booked 2 premier rooms but were pleasantly surprised when on reaching the hotel, we were informed that we had been upgraded. the rooms were large & very well maintained. the full sized bathroom had an excellent shower area & a jacuzzi that was open to the sky. breakfast at the chom talay restaurant was amongst the best i have ever had! huge spread with a great mix of continental & asian foods. although there are 2 pools - the garden pool & the beach pool, we only ended up using the latter. its beachfront location was superb & the water was always at a very comfortable temperature. the garden pool, with a sunken bar, was lovely as well. the beach in front of the hotel is great - clean white sand & clear water! the hotel grounds are lovely & beautifully maintained. dark wood boardwalks winding through lush greenery create a very calming effect. all house-keeping & room-service calls were attended to promptly & the staff were always smiling & cooperative. the airport pick-up & drop was also handled very well by the hotel. the shops, restaurants & massage parlours of chaweng are at the hotels doorstep, & in the 5 days we spent in samui, we were only able to try out a fraction of the restaurants in the vicinity. an excellent 7/11 is located diagonally opposite the hotel & is ideal for meeting one's daily provisional requirements.the only small niggle at the hotel was that the sliding bathroom doors of both our rooms were slightly misaligned & as a result it was difficult to lock them. despite mentioning this to reception a couple of times, it wasn't sorted. but it's quite understandable as the doors would probably have to be taken down & re-aligned & this would obviously be a time consuming affair. all in all though, a lovely experience! Amari Koh Samui (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"Good location near Chaweng busy area The resort has good location near the busy area of Chaweng with many restaurants and all sort of shops. From the airport takes about 15min costs 130bht shared minivan or 500bht for taxi. The Resort has two parts separated by a busy road. The first part has the reception, the main swimming pool, the beach, breakfast and the sea view rooms The second part is not on the beach. Most of the hotel rooms are on the second part. Some of the rooms are 4.5 star level but some of them are 3 or 3.5 star levels. I have been given one of those rooms first. I requested to move to a better room because I paid high price for a 5 star resort. There are two pools both are lovely. The breakfast is very good and has a wide range of food. Again it cannot be compared to 5 star breakfasts. The beach is good for swimming though it has some sea weeds and shallow but it is ok. Check-in was delayed due to room change which should not be. They should assigned 5 star room from the beginning - why making the guest request to change. Motorcycle renting from the hotel costs 300bht, just outside the hotel it cost 200bht. All staff where super friendly and helpful, especially who welcoming and smiling with all guests. The rooms have free WiFi. Check out was fast. Many restaurants, shops, massage shops ... etc. On the main road near the hotel in Chaweng. On the beach there are also nice restaurants and massage shops. The hotel is in a good location. "

Banana Fan Sea Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng - View on map
"1. Location: beachfront and in Chaweng Road (center of nightlife and restaurants) although a bit on the end side (10 mins . walk to central Chaweng). Can stay by the beach or the pool. Waves/ current, however, was always on red flag, but you can still swim just don't go far. 2. Room quality: bit old already, but well maintained and clean. Room are spacious ( a big plus); good for families. Have villas with porch. Traditional wood design. Good bed; soft. Cable TV, blow-dry, safety deposit box. No mini ref. Hot and cold shower. Water pressure, however, could be stronger. Aircon can keep on whole day even when out. Free water bottles, coffee/ tea, and welcome fruit basket. Toiletries also provided. 3. Facility: nice pool overlooking the ocean; massage by the beach at 300 bhat only, restaurant, tour booking, airport transfer at 300 bhat (airport 15 mins. away only) 4. wifi: very strong in the room or common areas 5. breakfast: wide choice with fresh watermelon smoothie; average quality (chef at egg station could be more friendly) 6. Staff: very friendly and smiling, especially concierge, check in & asst manager. the restaurant staff, however, can improve. 7. Price: Value compared to other 4 star hotels (beachfront, Chaweng) Overall: met my expectations. "

More about Chaweng

On the east coast of Thailand’s Koh Samui, Chaweng is the leader in island development. There are far more hotels in Chaweng than anywhere else on Samui, and guests enjoy some of the best luxury options in the country here.

Chaweng Beach is the best on the island, and it’s at the heart of the Samui’s commercial hub. It boasts white, powdery sand and excellent facilities. This area has seen rampant growth in the past 20 years, and visitors enjoy water sports, seaside dining and exciting evening entertainment. Horseback riding, miniature golf and bungee jumping are all operated on or near the beach.

Chaweng is also a popular medical tourism hub, and outpatients find there’s no better place to recover from a procedure than here on the beach. Popular facilities include Samui International Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Samui and Ko Samui Hospital.

After hours, the beachside party follows Soi Green Mango and its adjoining side streets. The scene varies from go-go clubs to more traditional bars and discos. Young travelers flock here, but there are definitely venues to suit travelers of all types.

Chaweng Beach Road is six kilometers long and it’s flanked by boutiques selling jewelry, beach attire and souvenirs. There are also a few traditional bazaars where shoppers are expected to haggle over prices.

Hotels near Chaweng Beach are more expensive than those on the mainland, but there are still plenty of options for backpackers and package tourists. Opposite this are several exclusive resorts with spa facilities and access to secluded stretches of the beach.
