Vacation @ Chiangkhan”
The hotel itself and its facilities are perfect for couples, the location is very near to Chiangkhan Night Market and also on the bank of Khong River, so you can enjoy the scenery of the river together with the atmosphere of Chiangkhan community at the same time. However, during my stay at the hotel, the public pavement along Khong River was under construction which critically ruined the mood. Hopefully, it will be finished before my next time there.

Noisy Romance...”
The hotel is, what Thais would like to call, modern Thai chic - so's the name. Only thing guests should wonder about is, that Chiang Khan is a city of wooden houses while the hotel looks like the claustrophpobic dream of "wanna be" Mario Botta that came true in an orgy of cement. Cement has some advantages, so even skills about static are not such well, you're still able to form representative structures. So far - OK. But maybe next time the planner should think about, Thai people become bigger too - I'm 186 centimeters high and definitely to big for staying in these rooms without feeling pressed by the ceilings. Maybe it is a reminiscence to the wooden houses of Chiang Khan, that you can hear everything what's going on in the hotel. I can't tell to many good things about this place. One is that the breakfast is served in an old (wooden) house opposite by a very friendly lady with excellent English language skills. So traditional structures and culture meet a kind of warning what might happen if a society doesn't care. I'm afraid that the Chiang Khan Chic Hotel is an example for future Chiang Khan - not a beautiful outlook...

Great location and nice staffs”
We had one night stay at this hotel and we were impressed since we checked in. Staffs were so friendly and helpful. Our room was quite compact with no window but clean. Shared fridge and some facilities inc. coffee and tea. Back hotel has a stunning river view. Hotel is in a middle of walking street. Only dislike is size of room. Hard to turn around in the bathroom. Plus no window Overall is satisfying and will surely come again.

Definitely recommend ”
My experience with one hip hotel in Chiangkan 3 years ago was very bad since I choose the hotel that look so cool from outside but I didn't think about how the effect of the old wood could give ; smell, mold , and when people walk on top of you. This time I only look for concrete place but locate in walking street and I found Chick Chiangkan is the best solution.

Good Location, Comfort stay, Near walking street”
First thing that I love this hotel is design. It is very simple but comfort for stay here. The hotel is located in the good location for visitor; near the park, near public car park and beside the river. Room 103 and 104 will give you a very good view of beautiful sunset.

$110+ per night? Maybe think again?”
This is my second time visit for Chiangkan within 2 months since I travelled for business in Loei, the hotel was nice, staff were friendly, the restaurant which provided breakfast was very delicious. The room was smaller than I thought (around 3x3 metres including bathroom), I would call this a hostel, not a hotel, 2 people seems to be too much and I feel a little bit uncomfortable. I had a great time there, but $110+ per night for low season, not really worth it. Recommendation for people traveling in low season, just go without prior reservations and walk through the road to find your best place. I do like this place, but not that much to say I'm coming back.

great location just in front mekhong river”
we had great stay, hotel just in front of mekhong river and walking street. However, no car park, need to park in the temple close by and the room is quite small especially the bathroom. Decent breakfast opposite hotel, no room service available. Recommend for winter get away for thais.

Great locations but far too small rooms for price.”
I had chosen a rather expensive hotel for that area, as i wanted a nice break for our road trip in Loei, but we were shocked by the size of the room (3 X 4 m including bathroom!), with low ceiling and concrete - look walls; we could hardly move around the bed, and did not know were to put the bags! On the top of that, the wifi was not working (needed to ask for a reset), the shower sprinkler could not be fixed on the wall (fixture broken), and we discovered they did not have any breakfast facilities (need to go across the street with a 50 THB coupon). As i suffer a little from claustrophobia, we threatened to sleep with open door or to go and sleep on the sofas of the lobby if they did not do anything for us (we would not have paid through Agoda, we would have moved out immediately to nearby guesthouses at 500-800 THB). Actually we wanted a refund and leave. Finally, after several changes of positions, they put us in the only aceptable room i think, the room 208 under the roof, which is clear, wide, and with nice view on the Mekong. Finally we could enjoy our stay (2 nights).

Easy access to walking street”
A cosy-style, no-window, limited space, double room with river view only from a terrace downstairs. The hotel locates at the end of the walking street.

Very disappointing”
From my experience, it's hard for me to accept the overall rating of "good" this hotel has on Agoda as there were several areas which I felt needed improvement. On arrival, I was not greeted by staff to help with bags, they had no map of the surrounding area and made no attempt to help me get oriented. The room was small and the bathroom was uncomfortably small as there is not enough room to bend over to towel after taking a shower. There was no tissue in the bathroom and when I mentioned this to the front desk staff, the response I got was that this is Thailand and they do things differently. They offer free wifi but there was no room for a computer desk. There is no fridge in the room. The hotel does not have a restaurant. The free breakfast they offer is at a street cafe across the street and on one morning I was there, I took a cup to make instant coffee and found it full of ants. The staff struggled with English which in itself is not a negative but they made little attempt to communicate. Aside from the poor facilities and service, I think this hotel is considerably overpriced as I saw several hotels on the same street at a much lower price and I would definitely avoid it if I return.
