Where to stay in Invercargill
Invercargill hotels & accommodations

Ascot Park was our overnight stopover on our way to Milford Sound. All we needed was a place to stay to sleep so we elected to use the motel portion of this multi-functional hotel. We were a short ways from the major hotel complex. But the accommodations were excellent. Since breakfast was an added cost and seeing what New Zealand restaurants charge for meals, we e...

We stayed one night here and our room was clean, comfy and very spacious! The radiators and hot shower worked flawlessly, the only place I find not so clean is the back of the hair dryer (the air vents collects quite a bit of dusts). The motel host was super friendly as well. Definitely worth considering if your visiting Invercargill.

My wife and I are both of Celtic family origins. She is Welsh I am of Scottish and very northern English family. I have wanted to visit this very Celtic part of New Zealand for a long time. So here we were in Invercargill and I was able to eat at a very good Irish pub and drink Celtic style local beers. We were able to visit several Burt Munro museum displays for his m...

The room has the most well equipped kitchenette among all the motels I've stayed in. The male staff who received us was most helpful and friendly. However the room is in serious need for a modern facelift and refurnishing. The toilet is tucked away in an enclosed space next to the bath area and it looks really odd and out of place. Bathroom heater is old and noisy when...

We were upgraded to a deluxe double and the staff was very helpful. The room was very clean and spacious with cooking facilities. Quiet and cool at night time very suitable for light sleeper like me. 15 GB wifi is provided and very fast internet! Located in the center of Invercargill which is very convenient. It was a very pleasant stay and I would definitely come bac...

We stayed in two-bedroom unit for one night. In my three-week holidays in New Zealand, this was definitely one of the best motel which we had stayed. The unit was very spacious and clean, beyond my expectation of a typical motel standard. Very friendly service from the staff. Impressive for the price which we paid. Definitely value for money.

It was really a nice experience staying at Homestead Villa. We were really delighted to see the environment of the Hotel Room, very homely and all necessary required things were there. The reception service was beyond expectation, very friendly. If ever come back to Invercargill, will definitely stay here. Invercargill will be in memory due to this hotel.

We stayed one night in a studio apartment. The building is old, particularly noticeable in the corridors with squeeky floors. The studio apartment, although a bit dated, was spacious and had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was very spacious for a studio with a large shower, which for an unsteady person would benefit from a rail or something to hang onto. The room was ...

My ad (in his 80s) my sister and myself (in our early 50s) stayed the night here. We enjoyed our stay which was comfy and warm. The 2 bedroom suite is older style but clean and comfy. There is a lot of room and a very well appointed kitchen. The hsts were very friendly and knowledgeable about Invercargill and ensured we had a nice place to go to dinner and even gave ...

We are impressed that Alec the owner was willingly stay-up so late to wait for our arrival due to unforseen delay (12.00 midnight), ensuring our comfort. Such a nice treatment after an experience of being left by the receptionist at the prior city with only key and map to look for the room which unfortunately not easy to find-and on top of that we only get 2 towels f...
We were very impressed of the current re-refurbishment efforts which has given Grand a new lease of life The Grand will always hold a special place in our hearts as this is where we stayed when we first moved to NZ Having the privileged to visit the place, now as visitors has given us the pleasure of walking down memory lane We have no hesitation in recommending the G...

I had a wonderful stay at Victoria Railway Hotel. It is beautifully restored and the hosts, Tom and Rose, provide personable top-notch hospitality. I had a standard room which was warm and cozy with a modern bathroom. Such a nice touch to have a heater in the bathroom too! Having an on-site restaurant is a plus point too. The only drawback is not have an elevator in ...

The owner of the property is very friendly and helpful during our stay. She even gave us the opportunity to play with the animals in her farm and we had a great time feeding them and pet them. The room is clean, and we were given extra blanket to cope with the cold weather during our stay.

An older style of accommodation with friendly & helpful staff. The room was clean and adequate for a nightsleep rest. It is located on a main road into town, and the traffic is pretty constant. We still managed to sleep ok!! It is within quick walking distance to the Truck Museum which is especially worth seeing.

The grounds were well manicured and quite the attraction in their own right. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and quiet. Located on the edge of Invercargill but still close to everything. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Just sorry we didn't have longer in this city.

It seems to be the place where every store is way bigger than it needs to be, but after a while this becomes a great talking point!
