"This hotel is often full; no wonder given the appalling standard of a lot of London hotels in this category. The Mowbray is a bit of a surprise inside. The common areas are light, fresh and guest friendly. The rooms vary: some are VERY small, but still adequate, while others are quite roomy. All have modern bathrooms, which is a real relief, although I would say that a bit of attention to cleaning detail now will save a lot of unnecessary maintenance later. The staff are reserved but always helpful. The location is perfect being just around the corner from Earls Court Station and busy, bustling Earls Court Road. I would definitely recommend this hotel in the three-star category; however, sometimes the price is on the high side. Book early to get value for money. "

"Friendly, helpful staff at Reception and in the restaurant/bar. The room was spacious, pleasantly cool on arrival rather than overheated like most hotel rooms. Travelodge beds are very comfortable. The rooms are simply furnished and restful on the eye. Internet works well – but costs £3 per 24 hours extra. I like the fact that at Travelodge hotels you can pick up more tea, coffee, milk & sugar in the lobby if you need it without having to ask. The hotel is not far from Gatwick Airport – there is a bus from stop No. 8 which will bring you to the Travelodge – current fare £4 (from both North & South Terminal). Overall, a very pleasant stay if you're arriving very late at night or heading out very early."

"The staff at the front desk is very friendly and helpful during the check-in. A thumbs up for her. The room is beyond my expectation. I thought the room is poor when I read the review from the website. But I was wrong, the room is spacious then I expected (compare to other hotel in London) and it is very clean. Food and convenient stores (i.e. Tesco express, Boots, and M&S Food Hall) are nearby. If you like coffee, there are Starbucks and Pret nearby as well. Underground Tube and Overground trains are within walking distance. Highly recommend for those who travel to London. Once again, thanks to staff who serve me during me check-in. "

"My husband and I chose Hyde Park Executive Apartments for the location and the price. I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but it was the perfect spot for 2.5 days of sight seeing in London. The hotel room/studio/apartment is simple but newish/modern, very spacious and clean so it suited us fine. Our room was located on the ground floor but it was tucked away and very quiet. Sure, the bed wasn't a king size bed but queen / double sized beds in Europe tend to be smaller in general so we had already expected this so it was fine. You are not paying a 5 star star price so don't expect 5 star accommodation. We had a car with us but as we didn't want to use it in London, we simply parked it in the public car park on the next street for the 2 days and only travelled on foot , bus or train. The station and bus stops were easily accessible from the hotel. Overall, this hotel was extremely good value for money considering we would normally stay at a 4/5 stay place but decided that it just wasn't worth it in London. This hotel was decent and we were very pleased with it. "

"Very nice clean hotel would recommend only fault is that if ordering room service they don’t have a credit card reader so if your wanting room service you have to submit your credit card details at check in. The hotel is close to airport there is a shuttle bus service to and from hotel to airport cost of £3.00 each way can be very busy early hours of the morning."

"Don’t be fooled by the double / twin room (when selecting twin beds as preferences) it basically means which ever is available they will assign you. Therefore our preference was a twin bed but it wasn’t available until about 4 days into our 6 nights stay. (Involves asking every morning) lesson learnt for next time. Other than the staff was helpful. Location was the best if you plan to hop in a London tour bus or catch a train (less than 5 mins - less than 10 if you walk suppppppperr SLOW!) Didn’t take up the breakfast buffet on offer, but you have sooooo many options in the next street. "

"We were welcomed and accommodated quickly. Room service was very good and friendly. Our needs were fully met - late arrival, clear directions to free bus to Hatton Cross tube station on Piccadilly line to London, hotel shuttle to all terminals for flight (£4.50), excellent buffet breakfast, wifi in lobby and rooms (expensive however), luggage storage after checking out so that we could go in to London and back. Although airport hotels are not cheap, this one was very competitive."

More about London

A stunning city of architectural and historic beauty as well as a vibrant arts scene, London is certainly a favorite destination for many world travelers. It's one of the world's most exciting capitals, and a great starting point for exploring the rest of Europe. London is served by five airports, with Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport being the most well-known travel hubs. Hotels near Gatwick Airport are convenient for quick stopovers in the city and considerably cheaper than hotels in central London. For travelers arriving via train, hotels in Bayswater and Paddington are plentiful and comparatively inexpensive.

Getting around central London is easy via the tube – a vast connection of subway lines that serve the inner city. When the weather permits, the walk between the most famous sites like Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London should not be missed.

London is home to beautiful architecture, as evidenced by buildings such as the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Tower Bridge.

Live music is a staple of the London lifestyle, with concerts and shows highlighting nearly every night of the week. London is one of the most recognizable destinations in all of the world, and a city that sets the standard for what it means to be an elegant metropolis.
