Margaret River hotels & places to stay

That is one of the best "hostel" we've stayed for a family of 3. The toilets & bathrooms were super clean. The communal kitchen has all the utensils, fridge, oven and we even asked for a little cooking oil for cooking our dinner and breakfast. We also relaxed at the TV room too. The people running this property were very warm, helpful & friendly. Bedding was very comfortable & we slept like babies. The location is right smack in the centre of Augusta, where everything is within walking distance. We even bought our food supplies from nearby IGA supermarket for cooking. Excellent place to stay if you want to visit the south of Margaret River. Near to Jewel Cave & Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Taking pictures of sunset was beautiful at Skippy Rock Road, near to the lighthouse. There is also a great fish & chip and burger outlet diagonally across the road (Blue Ocean). A lot of people stay in Margaret River and overlook Augusta. Perhaps they are wrong to overlook this lovely town which has many lookout points and attraction. Will return one day & stay at least 2 nights.

We stayed at the Dunsborough Beachhouse Backpackers only for one night so it probably isn't fair to draw too far-reaching conclusions about the place but we had no complaints. In fact, we had a great time at the communal area mixing it up with the other guests so as far as the athmosphere was concerned it was great. Certainly not a place for a family with young kids in my opinion but for teenyboppers and anyone who understands the concept of YHA/backpackers accommodation, this was just what you would expect. We had a double room so I can't comment on the dorms but just walking by they seemed pretty reasonable. The bathrooms were what you would expect too on Friday night but were by no means overtly dirty or anything. We were happy there and I am sure you will be too for that price. After all, the whole region isn't exactly cheap so if you are on a tight budget and not a snob, this will tick the boxes. Recommended.

Fancy in all the right places! Has to be one of the best places I've stayed. The staff are excellent with a genuine sense of hospitality. While we didn't use the full communal kitchen and dining area it would be great to meeting other guest as well as visit with a large group. The rooms are spacious, simple but modern. What I loved most is everything smelt clean and fresh. If you're going to stay in Margaret River, look no further!

This is a nice older style hotel with stunning views overlooking the river and down to the ocean. It is centrally located on the main street through town and it is a short walk to the IGA across the road, up the street to the newsagent and bakery. From the back you can go down across the expanse of lawn to the walk along next the river and watch the pelicans and other birds sunning themselves on the rocks in the river. Pub style meals in the restaurant with nice steaks and fish. Augusta is a short drive to the lighthouse at Cape Leeuwin or back up to Caves Road and along the coastal features or the other way across to Alexandra Bridge. Lovely peaceful quiet town to relax in for a few day, much less busy than Margaret River up the road.

Was close to everything and reasonable price compared to other accommodation in Margaret river region. Stayed at the stern for 2nights. Amazing place, clean house with full kitchen facilities. Everything was clean and well kept. Toilet was huge, luxurious feeling. Do not be deceive by the pictures on Agoda, this I place is definitely much nicer than on the picture. Underrated place, would stay again if have the opportunity. Had a little difficulty looking for the house despite directions provided. Name of house is located above the main door which can be hard to see especially at night. Narrow passage for car but sufficient parking.

We booked a three-night stay for the Gourmet Escape and wanted to be central for shuttle buses. Elkamo was perfect! Literally opposite Settlers Tavern and the IGA, plus equipped with a kitchenette (Bar fridge, kettle and microwave) and spa bath too. The king bed was huge and comfortable, and the room itself was spacious too. Some reviews mentioned cleaning was an issue but our room was great on arrival, and housekeeping visited promptly each day. We could hear a little noise from nearby venues on Saturday night (but hello, you’re in the town centre!) - it wasn’t an issue at all. Only minor downside would be occasional patchy TV reception and limited stations. But no-one comes to Margaret River for that! Thanks Elkamo - will stay again.

Having stayed here before kind of knew what to expect. Main guesthouse is heritage style building with modern amenities including aircon, fast wi-fi and flatscreen TV in communal living room. Bed was comfortable made with clean sheets and pillows, and wife even enjoyed a bath which was nice. Located only a short walk from main street of town the Bridgefield guesthouse is a great base from which to explore the many sights and attractions of the Margaret River region. Also, the Italian restaurant adjacent the guesthouse serves great pasta and very reasonable prices. In winter there's a fireplace in living room which makes for a cosy place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. It's not fancy but comfortable place to stay if visiting Margaret River for short stay.

Dirk and Pam are wonderful and welcoming hosts who have created a lovely place to rest and relax while exploring the Margaret River area. They are more than happy to suggest insightful itineraries and offer advice and equally happy to just leave you in peace and let you get on with it. The breakfast is simple but extensive and extremely well done. The kids loved having the garden to run around in and chase the dogs, ducks and anything else they could find. A real home from home. When I return to Margaret River to explore some more this will certainly be the first place I consider staying. Just what you need and none of what you don't.

When you first search for a hotel in Margaret River, you'll see places an hour away from town claiming to be in Margaret River or using the ambiguous "Margaret River 'Region'". The Edge Of The Forest Motel is just a short stroll from the river itself and the town. If you're looking for somewhere to spend your day in your hotel room or lounge by a pool with someone serving you food and drinks, this is not the place for you - however, if, like most people, you're looking for a good clean room to sleep while you spend most of your stay exploring the region or town, then this place is ideal! We had a spacious room for three of us with everything you could need (TV, DVD player, DVD library, microwave, fridge, freezer, dining table, air con, bathroom and even a huge gas barbecue for your use on the balcony. Being situated just off the main road in to town, you have the steady sound of passing cars but nothing that annoy you or keep you awake. To the rear of the property is the forest (as the name suggests) which has a path for a more scenic stroll in to town. For a shorter walk (or in the dark) use the front entrance to the property. I would be more than happy to stay here during my next trip to Margaret River!

We spent two nights at the Noble Grape over a long weekend. It was very central to all the attractions of the Margaret River wine region. Jacqui and Ron were extremely kind and very helpful and more than accommodating. The morning breakfast was of a high quality, fresh local produce and home baked muffins. I especially appreciated the fresh pots of tea made for me. We would love to stay at the Noble Grape again and recommend this lovely little B&B in Cowaramup ak.a. Cowtown

Book this place at last minute and never been regretted. The host welcomed us with a big smile after our tired but enjoyable 4 hours drove from Perth. The unit was cozy, clean with a completed kitchen that you can cook whatever you like and surrounded by a lovely garden with tress and flowers, although the mattress was a bit soft for me. Drove from here to the must visit Cape Leeuwin lighthouse only took ten minutes. Augusta such a lovely and beautiful sleepy small coastal town, sure will come back here.

We revisited Caves House after 28 years and were charmed back then. But now it has undergone an enormous renovation which is sympathetic to its heritage listing. There are fewer rooms now and I think we had the best room (Room 1 - keep it a secret) - it had a lounge, bedroom with King Size bed and an amazing ensuite with a spa bath which overlooked the magnificent garden and had an ocean view. It also had access to an extensive balcony which you shared with two other rooms where you could relax and enjoy the view. When I say 'old world charm' I not only refer to the architecture but one evening we were treated pre-dinner to a couple of hours of a jazz singer accompanied by the grand piano in the foyer area. The other night we were able to sample local wares with a night market coming to the hotel and indulged in the artisan chocolates and pastries. We also walked through the gardens along the 'ghost trail' to get to the beach and felt like I had been swept back to the 1930s. Enjoy.

Very easy to find and 50 metres away from the start of the main street in Margaret river. Some locations described as Margaret river are actually miles away from the town. Staff were very helpful and secure parking beyong access gates is free for resident guests. Our room was immaculately clean and the balcony which had a table and 2 chairs overlooked the pool. We returned a week later for another 2 nights and this time our balcony overlooked the woods and was a lovely quiet view. Our room was studio unit and had a microwave, fridge, eating accessories, room safe etc all you need for a comfortable stay.

It provides excellent accommodation in the centre of Margaret River, which has been thought out with the needs of visitors to the region in mind. It provides spacious accommodation, with sitting room and important little touches like umbrella and ironing board. It also provides the basic facilities to eat in when you are overcome by the visits to the local wineries and need a night off. Shops and restaurants are all in close walking distance (50-300 metres) and the town offers numerous restaurant choice. The staff were friendly and professional and when a member of our group left medications at Prideaus, they quickly called to notify us. I can't think of why I would consider any other place to stay.

Excellent - we just would have wanted a plate and some minimal cutlery. I.e. as its in Margaret river we went on wine tours & purchased some cheese - however there wasn't any cutlery in room - but staff were happy to provide on request. Just feel this should be include (1 or 2 plates and minimal cutlery). There is a neighboring restaurant connected to another hotel but in same complex. Potentially agreement is to not provide this so we eat at restaurant. However we wanted to stay in our room, enjoy some wine & cheese and have a spa.

We loved our stay at Margaret River Hideaway & Farmstay, this place was even better than the reviews. The farm is a short 5 minute drive from town but feels like another world! We stayed in the studio and it was spacious, spotless and well equipped (including a welcome bottle of wine and the most delicious Orange Juice ever!). The Manager Lisa was extremely helpful with accommodating our check-in time, giving great suggestions on where to dine and only ever a phone call or SMS away to help. The animals on the farm were the most loved animals I'd ever seen, they looked in pristine condition and were so happy. The highlight of our stay was seeing them all line up in the morning for a feed. Margaret River Hideaway & Farmstay would be perfect for longer term guests due to the location, value and amenities. We are definitely staying here next time we are in the region!

We were a 12-person family with young kids staying in 4 different rooms. The accommodation was everything we needed for our 4 night stay at Margaret River. The varying rooms suited each family's needs though our favourite was room 9 (2 bedroom suite) as it was spacious enough for everyone to hang out and had a full kitchen! Location was fantastic! Woolworths was just 2min away. Drift Cafe (3min away, 10% discount) had great food and coffee! Being in Margaret River, the rooms were equipped with drinking glasses which suited us well :)

My partner and I had a great two nights at Seclusions. It was a little hard to find in the dark but our GPS got us there successfully. We stayed in the Ocean room which was very clean and comfortable. Comfy bed and electric blanket was appreciated! Quite close to Dunsborough so handy to go out for a meal. Our breakfast was very nice, and the bushland surroundings were beautiful. We had a very enjoyable time, Ken and Fran made us feel very welcome and we will certainly go back sometime.

This motel has all that a visitor could want and need at an affordable price. From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the fantastic well appointed motel room we stayed in this place is the best we have ever stayed at in Margaret River. The restaurant with its warm fire place is the spot to park yourself after a day of indulgence at the wineries, brew houses, chocolate factories and cheese factories of the Margaret River region. We will definitely be staying here again.
