Port Douglas hotels & accommodations

The getaway holiday in the Pullman Port Douglas was great ! the room and the facilities at the hotel were excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating without being obtrusive. The atmosphere was relaxing and just what was required to take that well earned break from the hectic work and normal life schedule. The Port Douglas are is beautiful and the barrier ree...

We were in Port Douglas for 5 nights. It was one of the best relaxing tropical holidays we've experienced. The staff on arrival were fantasti. The room was ready well before expected so our early arrival was no pproblem. The room we small but more than adequate with a big bathroom and a brilliant spa balcony with views of the pool area. There was never any noise, the p...

This is a very good refurbished property in the best location in Port Douglas. Close enough to the little town of Port Douglas. It is on the 4 mile beach which is great to walk up and down, particularly at sunset. The rooms are excellent. They are very modern and have been upgraded on all levels. Lightening, TVs, appliances and the rest. We had a lagoon view room on ...

Exceeded our expectations. Place was modern and clean. Had everything guests would need. Had a good location if one needs a quiet place. Just 5 minutes from the city centre. We booked a one bedroom unit but were given a two bedroom unit, so we had lots of space. Would definitely stay here again when in Port Douglas.

We went on our first trip with our 5 month old baby and loved our stay at the Mantra Portsea. We had the studio apartment, which was perfect for us. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom had a big hot tub style bath tub and we had a big balcony overlooking the pool. We had everything at our finger tips: The beach is 7 min w...

I live locally and travel to Port Douglas a lot. I have stayed at many place in Port from very expensive 5 star to Airbnb home stays. By The Sea is by far the best value for money. A great deal of thought has gone into the design of the rooms and facilities. But what gives this place the edge over all others is the staff. Typically Cairns and Port Douglas have...

Stayed at the reef resort in port Douglas we felt it was home from home. Lovely place, friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend. Loved the area also 3 nights just wasnt long enough. Was a fantastic last place to stay before our long journey back home to scotland.

We stayed here for a week and absolutely loved the lcation. Have been to Port many times, stayed at different accoms but this is our favourite, we want somewhere close to the cafes, shops, the beach. We also wanna stay at a place has 20m swimming pool, its so hard to find a non lagoon pool resort in port douglas so guess we will be going back to Mantra. It has an amazi...

I absolutely loved staying here. Gorgeous apartment styled accommodation set within the residential area of Port Douglas. The kitchenette had all the necessary appliances and even a coffee machine plus dishes and glasses. Large bathroom with a spacious shower that had a good flow shower rose. Lots of windows that open out to stunning views of lush trees, comfy bed and...

THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT, JUST ONE STREET BEHIND MACROSSAN STREET (THE MAIN STREET IN PORT DOUGLAS), SO CLOSE TO RESTURANTS, MAIN ATTRACTIONS, AND SHOPPING. THE STAFF AT THE MANTRA HERITAGE WERE EXCELLENT, ALL VERY PROFESSIONAL, HELPFUL, AND WILLING TO ASSIST. PARTICULAR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO ALEX, WHO WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE OUR STAY ENJOYABLE. WE HAD A SWIM OUT R...

Perfect position in Port Douglas. Had the weather been better, our room would also have been perfect. Sadly, without the sun, we couldn’t make use of the patio, with exclusive access to the pool; & the room was a bit lacking in light. Fabulous Mexican restaurant just up the road, & great breakfast spot along the end of the seafront.

This is a very clean and comfortable unit that is an easy walk to main street in Port Douglas. There is limited free parking on site. So if you have to park on the street which is free be aware of the tropical downpours that can occur and make sure you park on the high side of the street and not directly infront. Flooding can and does occur.

If you want a relaxing holiday then stay the Meridian. It's close to the main street of Port Douglas (5min walk) with the wide variety of restaurants and services all within walking distance. Supermarkets, banks, shops etc are all there, while there is a wide range of eating options catering to all tastes and budgets. My girlfriend and I ate at a different place each ...

Tony was so hospitable, went out of his way to make us feel welcome, even providing towels for the pool and beach. Also providing alot of information on best things to do in Port Douglas. Will definately return to the Whitehouse again, and recommend to all my friends 😊

We have stayed at Mantra on inlet 6 times in various apartments because we love where it is situated in Port Douglas. the apartment we had this time does need some attention. the louvre doors to bedroom were broken, the surround of the microwave fell off and the guttering over our balcony was leaking like a tea strainer. WE still love the hotel/apartment. Wish there wa...

We were very happy with our stay at Port Douglas Retreat. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice porch seating area. We were on the ground floor which made accessing the room with a pram very easy. We were able to rent a cot during our stay. The bathroom was roomy with a big shower area, no bath but our baby prefers showers anyway. Excellent location, close t...

We are Sydney based couple arrived for chill out long w/e and not disappointed. We stayed here a few years ago and the place was getting tired however the new owners have spent some money and all rooms and general areas have had a well needed "facelift" - so ambience is private, relaxing and fun - rooms are very clean and good size and to a "standard" - its not Grand H...

We loved everything about the Sands Resort. Every encounter with the staff was positive; they were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The included breakfast, which was quick, easy and convenient was great especially when getting out and about with younger kids. The accommodation itself was great, had everything we needed and the pool was fantastic and catered for ...

This property is run by 2 lovely guys who looked after and entertained us so well. Very attentive to all our needs, informative and respectful. They have 2 gorgeous Bernese Mountain dogs and 3 cats. They obviously love animals. Gorgeous views from the breakfast area. Great place to travel North or through the Atherton Table area. 15 min by car to get to Port Douglas. T...

Very roomy apartment which welcomed us with a starter kit (towels, soaps, dishwasher kit, laundry kit, etc.) but then we were on our own. There is a small heated-up swimming pool which was where we met other fellow chatty travelers (mostly families with kids; we got a surprise baby-sitting opportunity from one of the families we met there and also learned later that th...

I thought my room with kitchenette and first floor balcony was great. My only niggle was the sliding door to the bathroom next to the bed - not very private noise-wise if I'd been staying with my husband, but minor issue. Glad I only had to lug my suitcase up one flight of stairs and not two, but stairs seem to be a fairly common feature of properties I've stayed at ...

We stayed 3 nights at the Outrigger, the owners are absolutely lovely and very helpful, bless them ! Great location, appartment very clean, air con works good, no insects, nice balcony. If I had something « negative » to say that would probably be the lack of a few things in the kitchen, like paper towel and a sponge. And maybe the beds that weren’t the most comfortabl...
Cheap places to stay in Port Douglas

Everything you could need for a short or long term stay. Comfy bunk beds, clean sheets, great common areas, plenty of kitchen storage and a pool to cool off in. The reception staff were always friendly and full of knowledge. Only thing would be more thorough cleaning of the rooms. Mine was an all female room with en-suite and the bathroom/shower could do with a deep cl...

My friend and I stayed in the bunk house or dorm area. The room has no windows and gets very humid/traps everything inside. On the positive: the room has big lockers and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating However: The bedding and sheets is definitely questionable and gave my friend scabies

Would definitely recommend, great value for money, bed very comfortable & room very clean, was share bathroom which were spotless and plenty of them. Nice pool area & bar & kitchen facilities that you are able to use. And as for the staff Nikki & Michael at the reception were very welcoming really made you feel at home, they could not have been better anywhere. Keep up...

We booked a queen studio room and I have to say, after staying in plenty of motels in my time this has to be the best! You can't beat the location - a few steps to the beach and a short 5 minute stroll to the main street of Port. The rooms have been renovated and I really commend the owner's on the tasteful and modern decor - far better than The Mantra and almost as ...

Our encounter with Paradise Link Resort started with a 5/5! Firstly I accidently double booked my accommodation, so they said they will definately sort something out and was able to get me in that night (instead of the following night I accidently booked). We then rocked up at 8am from a red eye flight from Perth, we only had 2 hours sleep and was praying they could get...

Whilst the outlook of our particular room wasn't the greatest, we were really pleasantly surprised by the size of the apartment which was easily twice the size of others we had stayed in around central Port Douglas, although we paid more per night than we had at any time before. May well be our future "go to" accommodation in PD.

thus is one of the most beautiful setting imaginable overlooking a beach on the Coral Sea. We were in Port Douglas to go and dive the Great Barrier Reef. The apartment is close to the wharf and right down in the happening area of Port Douglas. Been to resort before very nice setting, looks slightly worn but to be expected at end of busy season. Beautiful pool areas, basic breakfast but nice and fresh. Staff really friendly. As I booked one of last two rooms available the view was not great car park and air con units, so I wouldn't stay in studio again but their apartments are great.

Le Cher Du Monde is perfectly located - right in the middle of all the Port Douglas shops and restaurants and a stone's throw from the beach with the marina a short walk. I immediately felt in holiday mode when I walked into my apartment with it's terrace looking out onto the pool. Very peaceful too, even though you are in the centre of things. Staff were welcoming on...

Port Douglas is nice for the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree national forest, and even looking at crocodiles on the Lady Douglas. It is about a 15min walk to town, and 5min walk to 4-mile beach. Great location just off the main street in Port Douglas. The room was very big with a kitchenette allowing you to cook almost anything. It had 2 a hot plate type stove top, large refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and cookware. Laundry facilities also available. Not a five star service, rooms are only cleaned every four days I believe, and staff is not exceptionally ...

this is more like a resort apartment than hotel room. the best feature of the room, is the very large bathroom space that include a couple's jacuzzi. that's something we'd look forward to every evening after we return from our day trips. the downside, is the space for the room is actually smaller. this seems proportionate though, larger bathroom space + jacuzzi, sm...

Just a short stay but couldn't have found a better spot to stay , positioned just off the main street of Port Douglas we were a short stroll to all the restaurants and shopping and only steps away from 4 mile beach. The place was really nice. It really opens up to feel the breeze, or you can close to keep the air on - (some AC units were stronger than others, but the heat and humidity in North Queensland is a worthy opponent!). Management was very responsive to questions and requests

The apartment is very well fitted with all mod cons and all in excellent condition. The room opens up to the pool with a great woods deck anecdotal to the pool. We stayed here for our wedding and it was a perfect. The bridesmaids had plenty of room to get ready in the massive two bathrooms. The apartment itself is very spacious. Loved our stay here

We've been there 5 times in 7 years... before and after kids. Amazing place to relax if you want or get active if you feel.
Port Dougles is busy city with lots of holiday makers and lots a good restuarants and retail shops, the great walking tracks around the beach areas, the 4 mile beach was beautiful.
If you want sun and beaches then Port Douglas is a great place to visit. It is set up for tourists as has lots of accomodation restaurants and shopping.
Lovely area with plenty of restaurants. Hire a car and make a few day trips to the Daintree, Mossman Gorge, Skyrail, Kuranda Train and visit the beaches.
Port Douglas is a beautiful destination. It has a lot of lovely restaurants, spas, boating activities etc, but it is the type of place that you could spend as little or as much money as you want.
Port Douglas is beautiful, well worth a trip to especially on the weekend as the Sunday market is excellent.
Port Douglas is about an hour drive north of Cairns. The town is fairly small, but has quite a number of places to stay.
Try the Siam Thai restaurant in the main street, great food and service. Toad racing is great fun too!
Upscale area -- very pretty and friendly -- perfect for catching boat to the Great Barrier Reef. Found it much nicer than Cairns
lovely place to see. Bring plenty of cash thou as everything is triple the price. You want fish and chips that's $60 thanks.
Small tourist town with just one main street. No much to see or do by itself but good base to go to the Reef and the Rain forest.
Loved it. Great beaches, parks etc. Easy access to the reef and islands. Central to visiting north areas of Mossman and Cape Tribulation, west to tablelands and south to Cairns.
There is a great market on Sunday mornings at the end of town, and also a Wednesday afternoon market at the marina, which is smaller.
Port Douglas has a bit of everything. It has great restaurants and a lot of variety, plus it also has lots to do; for example reef tours, rainforest walks, wildlife parks, etc.
In off season Port Douglas is a relax and calm place. In busy season there are lots of people around.
We traveled during jellyfish season but since we stayed in this wonderful hotel we had a large lagoon to swim in.
One of most beautiful towns I've stayed in in Australia. while tourism has obviously made a enourmous impact on the town, it has managed to keep a lot of its charm.
