"The upper route 54 along the coastline from the east toward the sealfellness is in horrible condition. Drove 1 and a half hours through pothole infested road under the rain. But once we reached the hotel... All is forgiven. Newly built, clean and warm hotel. The surroundings is dark and quiet, best place for aurora viewing. Only 10mins drive to town. Will highly recommend everyone to stay here, especially family. My suggestion if u are driving here form akureyri, go futher down south and then turn to route 54 and cut across the pave road mountians. The mountains is amazing and roads are paved. Only half an hour drive more but its worth it. "
