Where to stay in Sukhothai
Sukhothai hotels & accommodations
Sukhothai is beautiful and this hotel matches the natural beauty. The grounds are gorgeous, with lily ponds, flowers, trees and a Wat next door that makes sunset truly memorable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The infinity pool is beautiful . My room was spacious and beautifully decorated. . But like everywhere I went in Sukhothai, the food was bland,, for Western ...
Great environment with trees and foliage providing a relaxing atmosphere. The hotel has access to wat changlom at the back entrance. It has a small stream passing through it, which provides for opportunity to see some wildlife and adds to the character of the place. Sukhothai historical park is about 1km away. Bicycles are available at the park or can be hired local...
it is convenience to rent a bike in hotel. In Sukhothai, bike is good than other traffic tools. Sukhothai is a quiet and peaceful park. moto is too noise. hotel has good air condition for hot temperature. environment is clean and lovely. but there is no swwimming pool, no big balcony, in hot days, U only can stay in room.
We have been in Sukhothai 3 times and always stayed at another hotel. When it was booked this time, we decided to try the Sawasdee Sukhothai Resort. What a great decision this was. The rooms are large, comfortable and really beautiful. Our bathroom sink was handmade ceramic and one of the wall was decorated with a large hand-painted design with elephants. The beds are ...
Scent of Sukhothai hotel/resort, is a little off the beaten track, it is a very quiet hotel, ldeal for young family's, and it has a good sized pool, it serves breakfast only ( eggs cooked to order) with all the other bits and bobs that you have, cereal, tea/coffee juice etc. Rooms are a good size, bathroom spotless, BUT, no safe deposit box in room. For a meal at ni...
The Heritage Resort is highly recommended if flying into or out of Sukhothai airport. It is beautifully designed with all the amenities you will need. The rooms are well equipped with large bathrooms, rain showers, cable TV and wireless internet. The food served at the restraunt was the best I have tasted in Thailand. The smiles are on all the faces of the many attenti...
In my life I never found good staff like this hotel ,I'm came Sukhothai first time and never know what I should to go, The staff she help me everything and what's very surprised! She try to help and find some motorbike rent but couldn't got it. She gave here key and she said " you can use it" Oh my god i never know here before but she be kind to me 😊. I stayed at thi...
This is probably the best hotel in Sukhothai. Nice view, great pool, nice surrounding, and good service. In addition, the massage service in this resort is excellent and we were very happy about staying there to relax! The only downside of this resort is that the breakfast is so so, but this minor defect does not ruin the overall excellence of this place!
Our stay was wonderful. We stayed longer than most guests stay in Sukhothai (7 days) because we were there for Loy Krathong. So we would go out to the historical site very early in the morning to take photos before the crowds arrived and return to the site late afternoon for the festivities. It was so good to have a place to spend time during the day that was so much ...
I have stayed in many hotels in Sukhothai over the years, at last I'm pleased to say I've found one where I shall return again and again. The location is great, close to the old town and Historic Park and only a ten minute drive to the new town. The gardens, are lush and well kept, the rooms which sits on the lily ponds are well proportioned and tastefully furnished,...
Located about 1.5 km from the historic town of Sukhothai, the highlight of our trip was not the ancient ruins or the delicious food of the restaurants surrounding the hotel. The highlight of our trip was this quaint, clean, quiet, respectful, beautiful hotel. Nune was courteous and always put our needs first. She made sure we had an umbrella when it began to rain, ev...
this is the first hotel ever that make me feel totally blown. i was in sukhothai for 1 day to visit the historical park. from sukhothai bus terminal i took a public transport tuk-tuk for 150baht (bargain from 250baht). room was very clean, with lots of windows, airy, nice decor and feel comfortable. they are using key to lock/unlock the door, so after hours of cycling ...
We loved this hotel and would give it 10/10 even with a few facilities missing. The WiFi was 'iffy' but so it was in every hotel we stayed in that area over a week, even a couple of 5-star hotels. The staff were great and nothing was too much trouble; the Thai food was excellent; the breakfast was more than sufficient; the location was excellent but we did have a car t...
Chanalai hotel was nice and the service was awesom!, I've been spending two nights(cos my car was broke down on the way to Bangkok). The room was basic, but very comfortable & nice landscape. Not far from Head Seaw town but a bit far from the historical park 20mins drive, but all easily accessible by motorbike (Yes you can rent by the hotel 300/day). Any information yo...
i stayed here after spending a night at the grand riverside hotel in phitsanulok, taking a bus to sukhothai. little did i know that the songtaew fare would be to get to old sukhothai, but that is a byline. i was warmly greeted by the owners, who promptly showed me to my cozy room overlooking the pool. i almost had the entire place to myself, which allowed paolo to sha...
The host is very nice!!! We arrived at night but the host said she cant find the booking record although we've already paid. Even no record but she still arranged the room for us and she apologized. We checked out at 10am on the next day and went to cycling at sukhothai historical park. At around 6 pm, we are very smelly after cycling >_< We tried to ask for a bathroom...
The staff and owners were the most kindness people we'd met in Thailand. The hotel is spotless clean and the breakfast excellent. The hotel provides free bicycles for guests and is located at a small distance (200 or 300 metres) from the main historical park of Sukhothai. This a perfect quiet place to stay 2 or 3 days, surrounded by marvellous historical monuments, but...
Perfect location in New Sukhothai! Walking distance to Poo restaurant and Copper Bar (where we rented a motorbike for around 250 baht and were able to explore old sukhothai super easily). Hotel was very clean and had ample room, shower was fantastic and spacious and the room we had was overlooking the corner. Quiet except for the birds (which you cannot escape in sukho...
Open arrival at the Sabai Sabai (3 1/2 *) we were told that, booked out, they've moved us to the nearby Sukhothai Heritage (4 *) ... same owner ... thus I cannot comment on the Sabai Sabai. Sukhothai Heritage is a wonderful place, we'll go back there for sure.
Pro: Location: 5 mins walk from Sukhothai Historical Park, Clean, Comfortable, Self Laundry Washing Machine, Restaurant Cons: Breakfast: the best I had was a slice of bread with what looked like half an egg, the worst was literally just a slice of bread. I stayed for 3 Nights.
Booked Swankhaburi Boutique Hotel on Agoda when I was recommended to stay at Sawankhalok for the reason of visiting Si Sanachalai historic park. Boutique Hotel is large, room is comfortable and most importantly the staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel served breakfast as part of the room rate which was quite generous in what they served. Hotel is located very near...
This is by far the best place we’ve stayed during our time in Southeast Asia :) Sukhothai Chalet is an authentic, family run place, literally right on the doorstep of Sukhothai Historical Park. Bikes are free to use meaning you’re just a 5 min cycle away from the restaurants in old city and the Chalet’s themselves are beautiful! The best part about our stay though w...
This air conditioned bungalow was the nicest room we had in Thailand. It was also the least expensive. There is also cheap transportation to the historical side of town on the main road just a short walk outside the hotel grounds. However, if you want to get to/from the airport, the entire city of Sukhothai seems to have colluded to make the price extremely expensive....
Do not be fooled by the information that the hotel is within the historical park, it is indeed about 6 Km from there, as most of the hotels in Sukhothai. So do not forget to rent a scooter or a bicycle. The room is of the motel type, but clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great if you come early, later you may have to "order" the dishes instead of helping yourself...
We stayed this hotel for 3 nights and we felt would like to stay longer if we had more time. It was such a nice place to be. I strongly recommend to visit here if you have plans at Sukhothai. - Wonderful exterior. Beautiful Thai building made with woods. Rooms are big and decent enough what I paid for. - the nicest swimming pool I've seen in Thailand. The length a...
The Pai Sukhothai Resort is located in new Sukhothai. Close to the hotel are a few restaurants, bars and some further guesthouses. The shuttle to old Sukhothai is leaving nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful on all travel & sightseeing inquiries we had. There was a good choice for the breakfast. The pool area is nice, however, too small for sunbathing. The ...
we wanted stay in old Sukhothai because the monument are cloaer than if you stay in new Sukhothai. but here.....you are into the monuments :) tha place is perfect clean, perfect and confortable bed. the house have a garden where you will have breakfast with birds sound. during night and day is very very peacefull. no traffic, no crowdy. the owner is the best! she is ve...
I wanted a place in Old Sukhothai to use as a base for.exploring the historical park and Baan Rim Klong is well placed down a quiet path ok the northern zone. The bungalows are newly built and in great condition, the best I have stayed in Thailand. They are also set in pretty grounds. Special mention had to go to the owner who talked me through a map as soon as I arriv...
We loved the hotel clerk, he spoke the best English of anyone we’ve met in Thailand yet and was very knowledgeable about Sukhothai places, prices, etc. The room was also the nicest yet, with the most comfortable bed! Washrooms were large, clean, and for once in Thailand there was no mold! The hotel also offered a book with info like bus times tables and history on the ...
Cheap places to stay in Sukhothai
My fan room was big, nice and clean, with complimentary water and toilet paper - great for the price! The guesthouse is really just opposite the bus station, and there is a path next to it that will take you to New Sukhothai in 10-15 mins (walking). The staff are extremely polite, I was even a bit embarrassed, feeling I might have walked into a fancy hotel by mistake. ...
Stay was good. It was clean and basic and close to bus station. They were accommodation and let me use a bike for free to see new sukhothai. They also let me stay in my room for an additional 100B till 9pm so I could get my night bus.
We stayed at that hotel only 3 nights but I wish we could stay longer. The rooms are very big, nice with big windows Tv's and hot shower. The location is close to the bus stop to the old city - only 5 min walk. The hotel is located on the river side with very good view of the river and the park opposite. That hotel is very good deal.
we booked a double room with aircon (not dorm) Pros:- -location is no.1 positive thing about this place. very close to the sukhothai historical park, close to 711, right in front of the place is a good restaurant. -it was clean but a bit old in places but clean -tv -minifridge -small tissue box -shampoo provided -shower is separated from the toilet by a wall but n...
Walking distance to Sukhothai historical Park. Friendly staff but wasn't able to speak much English. But the biggest problem with my stay was mice. They entered the dorm room and ate my food in my backpack. At night I couldn't sleep well because cats chased mice around. Also some mosquitoes in room, and I got bite too. Trash under my bed. They need to do more.

Easy to find, just in front of the bus station, so perfect location for a quick stop in Sukhothai. You can arrive right from your bus, rent a motorbike for 200bath and go visit the old city and have dinner at the night market right 5minutes drive from there. The room was clean and nice and the staff very helpful and kind. Highly recommended!!
Friendly staff, big 4 bed dorm (no bunk bed), basic breakfast (toast, jam, tea, coffee, cookies, some fruit ), a free little fresh bottle of water every day which is nice, close to restaurants and the central park, calm area.
I've stayed at EZ House on four occasions. I've stayed in several other hotels in Sukhothai as well. EZ House is my my first choice. In my view the location is very good. It's walking distance from the night and weekend market, and plenty of restaurants and street cafes, and far enough out to be away from the problem of the bird population that can be deafening in the...
That was reasonable price .The room was so smell of old when first visit after that not feel it .The hotel give me early check in at 3 AM cause my bus arrived that time .That was so look like I stay 2 night but pay 1 night.
Our stay was good. For the price this hotel is an incredibly deal. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The shower was hot. The location was convenient to the night market and downtown. The only negative was the noisy animals at night. Dogs barked, roosters crowed and birds squawked. But since it was one of the few hotels we stayed in that didn't h...
A bit out of the way,but near enough to the Historical Park to be practical. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, fridge and coffee. Excellent value for money.
If you want to stay close to the historical park then this is the perfect place. Although you could get much cheaper accommodation at the new city and get public transport for 30 baht per person. The bed was extremely uncomfortable so wouldn’t choose to stay here again woke up with sore back and shoulders!! However staff were lovely gave us a second day free using the...
The location of the hotel is great, it is about 10 - 15 minutes walk from Sukhothai bus station. The room is big and comfort with the air-con is cold. The staff is friendly and helpful. The teach us about travel tips to Sukhothai historical park. They allow us to store our luggage after checking out, allow us to take shower even after checking out before we proceed to ...
It was a nice stay! The area of the guest house is quiet, very relaxing and convenient. Guests Can easily access to the riverside night market, massage centre, food centre, restaurants & bars. 5 mins tut-tut ride to bus terminal for transferring to other provinces. 1 min walk out from the guest house and you can catch a bus to Sukhothai Historical Park with only 3...
the location of this gueshouse is about 200m off from main road and close to 7/11. Simple place but nice staff and good value for money. but only problem was it gets noisy in the morning as many start leaving for work by scooters/cars around 6am already. other than that, great place to spend few nights in Sukhothai.
If you want hostel is a great modern and new hostel in the center of Sukhothai. You can reach the market, several western or Thai restaurants and the bus to the old town in a few minutes. The staff is very friendly and they treat you like a friend, showing you the best place to eat or drink. The hostel is very clean, it seems like the cleaner service is there all day. ...
Very comfortable. Sukhothai is lacking in any nightlife, with very few bars and restaurants. Sabaidee House was a nice, quiet location between the Old and New Sukhothai. Easy transport from the guesthouse to the Heritage sites, which are brilliant and well worth a visit.
The host is very nice!!! We arrived at night but the host said she cant find the booking record although we've already paid. Even no record but she still arranged the room for us and she apologized. After having found out, that the reception is also the cash desk of the little supermarket at the front and that you maybe take the translator app for more complex questions in English, there are no further difficulties. The room I stayed in was completely new and probably in the best condition that you can find in Thailand (!). Owners were very nice and helpful with m...
I was here for 2 days & it would be better if I could make it to 3 days as Sukhothai is such a serene place and it has many beautiful sights to see, a place that is very close to nature and ancient kingdom. The hotel owner is very friendly & lovely and able to speak very fluent English. The room is clean, properly arranged and the decorations plus the treatment I rece...
Lovely staff! I can’t recommend enough. Rental bikes are only 50 tbt and a good idea to easily visit Sukhothai historic park because walking in the heat 2 km back and forth is time consuming. All the staff are so kind and helpful to everyone. The owner even gave me a ride to the nearby bus stop with my bags because I was in a rush to not miss. Great natural location aw...
Great place to stay if visiting the ruins. Big clean room - comfortable bed - air con and fridge. There's even free coffee and toast in the morning. We hired bikes and cycled to the old city which took about 5/10 mins. The little restaurant opposite sells some of the best Thai food we have tasted in 5 weeks of visiting Thailand. If getting the bus be aware that t...
I have stayed at the Wattanawan resort before (3 years ago) and would stay again in the future should I return to Sukhothai. You pretty much get what you pay for, a bed for the night, somewhere to have a shower and wifi in your room. The bungalows are very rustic but are kept clean and tidy. English isn't widely spoken here, but then again you are in Thailand so I pers...

It was a bit of a drive from the bus terminal in new Sukhotai, but totally worth it. The guesthouse is situated amongst rice fields and sugar canes, which is especially lovely in the evening, when you hear the sounds of the nature and nothing else. when i was there, there was a great view on fireworks and wish balloons in the distance at old town. I rented a bike at ...

This was our third time over 4-5 years or so that we passed through Sukhothai and every time we stayed here. Hotel is still nice but getting a little old perhaps a little more maintenance around the place would be nice. However, the room itself where it really counts, is superb. Superior type room is large with sofa and large bath room. Bed is nice to sleep in. Breakf...

This place looked to be brand new, which can explain why it didn't have any online reviews at all at the time and could not be found on Google maps. Anyway, prospective guests have nothing to worry about: it is indeed new and fresh and the rooms are nice. The location is OK somewhere between Sukhothai and the Historic Park. You definitely need your own wheels to reac...

Great place to step back in time and history. The ancient city is amazing and well worth the trip.Amazing place to take pictures and walk around, very peaceful.
Opposite the main gate to the historical park, on the corner, there is a great little cafe. Doesnt look like much but worth a stop in.
At least when you arrive Sukothai you have to visit historical park. If you are a culture or history lover you can extend your stay to visit Srisachnalai distric.
I did not visit Old Sukothia town centre, but he new town is very pleasant, friendly, and not congested.
The new city was not very impressive until we went on a bike tour of the countryside. The tour was great! We saw rice patties, sweet little villages, frog farms, the river, beautiful shrines and temples, mushroom farms etc.
Good to visit for historical reasons, i.e., sightseeing and learning about Thai history. Town is difficult to get around unless one has one' sown mean of transport!
The main reason to go is the historical park and surrounding historical areas. All of the restaurants serve pretty much the same things but the menu encompasses a lot of different kinds of food and the food quality was excellent wherever we ate.
- Watching sunrise at Wat Saphan Hin is a must. - though you may finish the sightseeing at main Wats in 2 days, I would recommend stay longer as to visit the historical park at least twice, once in morning and another in evening.
A small city with typically basic Thai small food mall eating. No nightlife other than a bar/restaurant with live music.
The city is a good deal of fun... even outside the 'Old Town'. There are too many things that you can do to list herein, but explore it all and enjoy!
สุโขทัยยังคงมีความเป็นไทยค่อนข้างมากกว่าหลายที่ และมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงความเป็นอยู่ของผู้คนน้อย แหล่งเริงรมย์เข้าถึงน้อย
I booked to stay in Sukhothai new town as I read that there wasn't much happening in the old town at night, well there isn't much happening in the new town either.
Iy you love the Buddha or Buddism this is the place to be, take your time Specially during sunrise en sunset
Just one year, cannot wait to be back..I spent 5 days for my 2nd trip to Sukhothai, very nice and I would return for sure.
It's a very local, average mid-sized city that does not depend of tourists for its livelihood. There are few restaurants and large hotels; mostly there are guest houses.
In my opinion Sukhotai is a bit more interesting than Ayuthaya. If you want to save your money visiting it's historical park, go there before dawn of after dusk.
Sukhothai, a long history cultural city. Having a great Bhuddha figure is located in the middle of old city.
Its very hot in the afternoon so best to tour the heritage site in the morning and be back in your rooom in the afternoon.
I mainly stayed in old city which is surrounded by temples. It is so tranquil and not many cars and peoples.
Peaceful village. Great to visit the historical park of the old city, see the ruins. Lovely to walk around or as there is a large area to cover can hire bicycles from the many places close to the ruins.
We loved the old city and would recommend that you rent bikes if possible and tour the ruins. Better to stay near the old city instead of the new.
the new Sukhothai city is charmless you are best to saty in old Sukhothai close to the historical park
need to have transport in order to access all the sites and probably best to have a thai speaking guide.
Main city itself is very quiet and quaint, key attractions are the historical park and the areas surrounding it
Sukhothai city itself is a bit of a distance from the Old City of Sukhothai where the Historical Park is located.
The great time to visit Sukhothai is in November when its Loy kratong festival! You can see the beautiful decoration and shows at Historic Park.
OLD TOWN, WHERE HISTORIC PARK IS SITUATED IS SUPER. NEW TOWN NOT VERY INTERESTING & MUCH LIKE MOST OTHER UP-COUNTRY TOWNS IN THAILAND
Only visit Sukhotai for the Old City Ruins, which you can cover in a day. There isnt much else to do in the city.
Whoever wishes to visit Sukhothai must be mentally prepared that it is not a Pattaya or Phuket. What you are going to face is the deep history of Thailand in their best.
This is a historical site where the buildings share similarity with Ayudhaya. But I prefer this place as it's smaller and easier to go around.
Sukhothai hotels with breakfast
One of the best places we have stayed in Thailand
Sukhothai Experience the experience was really good
We booked a room with pool entrance and loved it
Great pool, great location, lovely staff, and clean rooms!
Clean, extremely comfortable, and great value for money
The hotel offers a stunning quality with a great view.
Recommend this hotel to who travels to Srisatchanalai ❤️
It's one of the best hotel stays we had as a family.
Breakfast is the best.
