Tak hotels & places to stay

Passing through Tak wasn't meant to be a highlight of our trip, it was just a place to stop to break up the trip -- people said, there's nothing to see in Tak but we loved it, thanks to Soho it was a welcomed recoup on a motorbike trip around the loop from Chiang Mai to Sukhothai and back again. The hotel is even better than it appears online in pictures, tucked away on an unsuspecting street not far off the main road where the night market runs along the river is this trendy boutique hotel you'd expect to find in Chiang Mai or Bangkok. With free rental bikes available at the front entrance and large murals with inspirational messages greeting you as you step off the elevator on the way to your room -- it's a part of our trip that we won't forget. The staff were very helpful and the included breakfast buffet truly takes the experience over the top -- much more value than you'd expect. The fresh fruit and selection of Thai foods and drinks were half of the enjoyment, the beautiful room and view of the hotel's grounds through the huge wall of windows completed the experience. I hesitate to rave about the stay as it may seem overdone and your expectations will be too high but our two days in Tak really was a welcomed retreat from travelling about via motorbike. We took the rental bikes up to the night market for some shakes and street food --- I'd recommend riding to the river during the day as well and take a walk across the foot bridge or ride and enjoy the view. This seems like a popular choice in Tak as we passed many bikes on our scooter while touring the area. I was surprised how many people told us to just pass on Tak to go to Mae Sot --- don't bother stopping, but I disagree -- both Soho and the local area surrounding it were well worth the break if you just enjoy a relaxing couple days like we did.

Value for money. Nothing nice nothing bad. All u need for sleep and take shower. Poor breakfast but anyway better eat outside on the street in Asia. Funny to see the pricelist of the hotel if u damage anything. But also they tell u they not responsible for anything of ur items. :-)))) Best is location... opposite u have the big shopping mall from Robinson and all Restaurants.

the hotel is located in tak, around half way from bangkok to the popular northern destinations such as chiangmai, chiang rai, and mae hong son. so i recommend everyone who drives their own vehicles from bangkok to the north to stop for a night here, so you wont' be too tired and fall asleep while driving. it takes around 4-5 hours to drive from bangkok and 4-5 hours from here to chiang mai. the hotel is next to the ping river so you can enjoy nice view. we like that the door is opened by key card and everything in the room is modern and adequate for a quick stay. a big refrigerator. centralized lighting system. the best deal is perhaps the breakfast which offers a greater variety than other hotels in thailand at this price range. my wife's favorite is pancake and honey. we're very happy staying here for the price we paid and we always come back here every time we travel to the north. highly recommended if you want a quick stay.

Just stayed here one night as we wanted to cross the border into Myanmar and renew our visas to stay longer in Thailand. For anyone else wanting to do this, the border crossing is one of the easiest and friendliest we've encountered on our many travels. The hotel is about 10 minutes drive from the border bridge. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, gives free wifi and is set back from the road, so no traffic noise, very quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.

I'd never stayed overnight in Tak before, I'd always just been passing through. So I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to try out The White House Hotel for a 3 day visit. The location was right off the main road, which gave easy access to anywhere else I wanted to go in Tak. The staff was helpful and friendly. And the rooms were kept very clean. The pool was nice and there's a Thai breakfast offered every morning with your stay, a nice added touch. If you're overnighting in Tak, White House Hotel is a noteworthy spot to check into.

Having stayed in several places in Thailand, usually in modest hotels, this one stood out as comfortable and peaceful in a traditional Thai setting. Staying only one night, I regretted moving on. My breakfast was included, and served at the hour of my choosing. This was chosen at checkin. The room was clean and spacious. The bed had the usual hard mattress that I am familiar with. There was the sound of water dripping, and I later discovered that it was the condensation from the air conditioner running into the shower, an unusual way to deal with this. The shower itself had reasonable water pressure with adequate temperature, at the higher end as showers go in other modest Thai hotels. The staff was helpful with my massive amount of luggage. Yoga is offered at this hotel, and I met several people from other guest houses that were in the class. I would definitely stay again for the price offered by Agoda.

Good location... near hospital... government buildings... largest school... case to bus station... and 7/11is three minutes from hotel front door. Wifi very good. Beds very comfortable (ask for extra pillow?). Shower very good. Room and bathroom clean. Would suggest white towels rather than brown ones... but no big deal. Fridge in room with basic stock of purchasable items. All in all... best in Tak!

We enjoyed our stay at Baan Rabiangmai Hotel. We arrived to find out we had gotten a free upgrade. The room was very nice - with a sectioned off sleeping area, couches and small kitchen space. It was clean and our interactions with the staff were positive. The elevator wasn't working while we were there, but we were on the first floor so it didn't affect our stay. The breakfast provided was ok, but nothing special. We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel because the location was wrong on the GPS, but when we called for directions we had no problem finding the place. It is close to a restaurant called Famous Ray's. The food is amazing and I had the best burger I've ever eaten in Thailand. Do yourself a favor and please, please visit this restaurant! You won't regret it! Overall, our stay here was good and we would return if we found ourselves in Mae Sot again.

We needed a place just off the highway near Tak, and this location was perfect. The resort is actually quite large, with multiple buildings. We booked a triple room, with three twin beds, and it was a large room with plenty of space. It was very clean, and had everything we needed for a stop-over while traveling. Travelers coming from south Thailand to north, FYI: Google maps gave us two locations. The accurate location is closer to Tak, on the northbound side of the road. We had an assortment of pillows, which was convenient - soft, medium and quite hard. The beds were a bit hard, and the shower water never got truly hot, but those are very minor compared to the convenience of location, cleanliness of the room, and the friendliness of the staff.

The hotel is lovely ad charming. You can feel it from the moment you enter the resort, from the antique Thai-style house, to the beautiful sala surrounded in the middle of the lotus pond, while located in a lush valley. The dinner was amazing with many of the vegetables locally grown at the resort. The service was warmth and friendly. Because iwe went in the middle of winter, and the room is made from team wood, there was no insulation from the cold. Had he resort provided thicker blanket, we would have a very warm night. It was too cold. I have suggested this to the resort and hope they fix this soon for visitors in this winter period. Still, I would love to visit again

I spent just one night here, how ever my room was immaculate, new and clean building, the staff were very accommodating and a few spoke English. Their on site massage lady was the best I have experienced in Thailand for 250 bhat an hour, definitely ask for one if you are there. Extremely tranquil environment with large pond full of fish. at night the stars were out full force, it is just a great place to stay.

Amazing staff. We arrived late and they waited up for us to check us in. Really really clean room and nice facilities. AMAZING price!!! Definitely value for your money. Close to the border of Myanmar and definitely worth staying if you are crossing the border either way. Hotel will arrange a cheap taxi for you (100baht). Would recommend and would stay again. Free coffee and toast too.

We arrived at this hotel at dusk to be literally greeted at the car and checked- and settled-in with wonderful solicitous care by the fantastic hotel staff. For the price, the room was large, with everything and more for the price. I sipped free, supplied coffee and milk from the upstairs balcony as the sunset displayed golden colours while setting over the nearby steep mountains, just inside southern Myanmar. I enquired about the Im Hotel, to be told that it was opened in October 2012, one month previously. It is a little removed to the north of Mae Sot centre, but only 1 km away and very close to the main intersection near the sportsground. This is a good thing, because the town centre of Mae Sot is less than scenic. Thus, we spent two lovely night at Im - full, in Thai, aka satisfied - with great wifi and a superb bed to sleep in. We disappointed the fantastic staff by declining breakfast both mornings but that could have been had in a separate cabana in the garden - great concept - with brilliant, smiling service. Im? YES,we were, and, paw jai mahk - thoroughly satisfied. We would recommend Im to everyone. If you have transport, then there are several sightseeing opportunities in the province of Tak, and specifically, too, within reach of Mae Sot town.

I really liked Thanavill. It was nice little place a bit far from city center but the owner always gave me a bike if I wanted. The room was clean and tidy and the staff were amazing. We had some problems with communication in English but they really tried their best and we solved everything out. I really enjoyed my time in Mae Sot even though I was only staying one night.

Decided to choose here because another hotel I always stay was full. I have to say, the room I got was way better than I had expected; spacious, comfort bed/pillow, working fin air-con, speedy wi-fi. One thing that didn't work well was the toilet, it almost flood the room when I flushed it and the water was dark brown. It terrified me a little. The staff was polite. Breakfast was made to order which taste is okay but limited choices. Long story shot, you've got what you've paid for.

This is our first time to Tak and also in this hotel, the place is very beautiful and very clean compare to the price we paid this is very valuable The food is very delicious very fresh and not expensive, above all is the staff so very nice and have a pur service mind. I think the beautiful place and service mind of staff here is the strong point that bring back all customers to visit this hotel again.

A very good value hotel, bit bland and featureless, but very clean and comfortable. Staff had limited English but did their best to help with directions etc. I liked my comfy room, andf the pool though small was clean, but could get busy; the hotrl needs a bigger one for it's size. It's a bigger hotel than anticipated and was busy with a conference of scores of Thai Scouts, and few farangs stay, but that didn't bother me. But the very Thai breakfast wasn't at all what I could face first thing in the morning - gristly meat of indeterminate kind floating in greasy soup etc eeek! So was limited to coffee and toast. Just a little downer, everything else was great for the price.

Huge value lives at Baan Klang Chan even though it's a bit out of the way... I was on a motorcycle trip and every night booked the next night's accommodation, usually just a spot to sleep with no frills except wi-fi. I expected this place - based on the price - to be not much to talk about... Wrongo, my dear. Clean, modern, well laid out, good service, steady signal wi-fi, and decent breakfast all combined to make me think that a pricing mistake in my favour must have been made. I would have paid 2 or 3 times more than the value I was charged. I have no hesitation to recommend this place highly even at higher prices... If only all the spots I've stayed at in Thailand offered such value...
