Excellent Resort”

Sawasdii! Dec'18 was my 2nd time staying at Coconut Beach Resort (prior time was in Oct'18). The resort is a 2 minute walk to the beach/water. I had a different room this time; it was nearly as good as the 1st (which had a direct view of the beach/Sea; the 2nd one had a partial view of the beach/Sea from the balcony). Interior wise, both rooms were comfortable, clean, had reliable electricity (during the Dec storm), great shower-water-pressure, ample closet space, & each balcony was roomy. The 2 restaurants on the beach were good. Bikini Bar served tasty Jerk Ribs, in .25, .5, and 1kg portions (I had the .5kg & it filled me); Specialty Drinks it makes are fantastic for breakfast. The other restaurant served some fine fish & an incredible lobster in a garlic sauce; superb! While it rained the 5 days I was there, the local bars were fun & had great spirits even though the patronage was low. I took taxis to Chaweng for Muay Thai fights, only 600Baht each way. I shall return!!

First Timer”

I found this hotel online using my own search resources. It's 20 minutes from USM Airport via taxi, whose fare was < 1,000THB (if memory serves). Check-in was simple, efficient, & 30 seconds from my room. My room had a balcony with a view of the pool, trees, & sea (105 meters from hotel). On the beach were 3 restaurants serving seafood, local & farang food. I ate at 2 of them for dinner, brunch & breakfast; all meals were tasty (none were part of my hotel bill). The room allowed me to set a DO NOT DISTURB notice which the housecleaning staff respected. A real plus b/c many hotels in the Western world & Pattaya don't always respect DND. Only negative I have is for the bathroom. It lacked a hose to rinse oneself after a b.m. & the shower head was affixed, not a shower hose, making my shower disappointing from a hygiene perspective. Overall, Coconut Beach Resort has a friendly staff and terrific rooms. I am booked for Dec 2018!

Absolutely wonderful”

Coconut Beach Resort is a very good choice for a quality stay in Samui. Having a lot of rooms, its prices are very good value for money . If you want to enjoy a beach vacation without too much interupting, here is a good place for you. It has the same beautiful beach view and white sand and less people walk around all the time .

The best hotel in Lamai”

It’s the best hotel in Lamai - perfect location, big and clean rooms, amaizing beach, a lot of coconut trees, friendly staff. If we come again in Koh Samui we will stay there again.

Changes at the Coconut”

Stayed many times, always enjoyed the access to the Last stand of palm trees on the beach at Lamai. One disappointment this year is that it looks like the hotel has leased about a 1/4 of their beachfront to a bar. Loud music playing all day, serving drinks to the public for a free beach bed. The lonely planet said that Lamai was more laid back than Chewang, unfortunately that is changing and the 5 row deep beach beds are fast moving along the beach. Depends what you want in a holiday, hard to relax or hear the lapping of the waves on the beach now. I would imagine this change will not be popular with the Coconuts regulars. PS there is no dining room, so no breakfast included. Agoda has got that wrong.

Excellent location,right on the beach!”

The luxury Sea View room was exactly that! The room was in the front of a 3 storey building with a balcony, 2 chairs and a table over looking the pool,then the sand and the beautiful beach with no obstacles in the way apart from a few coconut trees. The hotel could not be in a more better and central location. About a 1 min walk to the main road, right behind McDonalds along with two 7/11 stores across from each other.The boxing ring,the bars and all the restaurants right there! We were absolutely delighted with our choice of hotel in terms of location and the reception staff were ever so helpful and positive. They even organised our motorbike rental to be dropped off and picked up at the hotel for the same price as the vendor. The room was a little outdated and although it was a decent size, the small LCD tv was attached in a corner on the ceiling making it difficult to read subtitles etc. Of course Im picking now, the air-con worked well and the room was clean. There was no in-room tea/coffee facility but it was free near reception 24hrs. The breakfast was great on the beach as well. The gardens and surroundings were peaceful and we were never disturbed by any noise from the street or elsewhere. We had absolutely no internet through-out our entire stay, I even purchased a signal strengthener for the wifi but we were just too far away from the only modem the hotel had which was at the reception, they told us they would be upgrading soon but it was a bit annoying to go down to reception everytime I needed to do some work. All in all for comfort,view and location I think it cant be beat for the price. There are two hotels in the vicinity with similar names and we went to the wrong one,our hotel came and picked us up for free!Over all we are happy customers. Lamai Beach is definitely a couples and families area.

Simple but nice hotel. Can't beat the location”

Family room was simple but more than sufficient for our family with 2 kids of 7 and 9. Hotel is right on the beach. During our stay "our" part of the beach seemed even more quiet than the rest of Lamai beach. Even when arriving in the afternoon there were always some free sunbeds of the hotel on the beach. We had the swimming pool virtually to ourselves during our stay. As serene as the beach was, just a minutes walk up the street brings you right into the bustling center of Lamai. We were initially planning to stay only 5 nights and then hop on to the next island, but we liked this hotel so much that we decided to book another 5 nights and not see another island during our holiday.

Beach hotel”

Located right on the beach, Coconut Beach Resort is a clean and comfortable hotel on Lamai Beach. The main street is a very short walk away with lot's of shops and food for every taste. The beach is not crowded and has shade under the palm trees This is my second stay here, and I will return again.

Best for me in Samui”

Ive stayed in Lamai many times but coconut resort was great. big room. amazing location right on the beach and close to night life but far enough away that you dont hear it.

Nice and convinient place to visit with childen”

We've been guests of this hotel for several times, and always prefered to choose it because of its extremelt conviniet location: in very quiet and beautiful place in Lamai. Seems to us, that this hotel fits for families with babies as much as bossible, because there is nice and large enough pool nearby, very close to the seacoast and no roads with high traffic nearby. So, everyone - even the jungest visitor can feel safe. The rooms are big and clean, the stuff is always ready to help. One of the useful features of the hotel is the gym. We also strongly reccomend this hotel for the best balance of cost and quality. To my mind, this hotel has possibly the best potential for the familes with children. I would be glad, if the owners would develop and position this hotel preliminary for them. Because there is great lack for that type of hotels in Lamai, especcialy with such a greate cost/quality value.

Situated on a prime piece of real estate, the owners of Coconut Beach Resort really under utilize the property. That they're content to run things this way suits us. We like the laid back vibe. Although it can be a little too laid back if you want service and upkeep in a hotel. The ventilation aircon system has not been maintained to extent that is blasts a suffocating mildew mold that'll nearly choke you. This is a really serious and bad issue they have here and if its not addressed soon and fully, this building is at risk of being condemned. No exaggeration. We've stayed here almost annually since it was constructed a little over ten years' ago and have seen the detrioration.

Prime location close to beachfront is the best feature. We've been to Coconut Beach annually for a decade, but only reserve one or two nights in advance because most of the rooms are now infected with a mold problem. Second generation Thai-owned takes care of some aspects of the property while seriously neglecting others: there is a mold problem in the aircon that is so severe the smell of mold in a lot of these rooms (40 in all) is overpowering to the point the building is going to be uninhabitable if the problem is not fixed -- soon. Ownership knows the issue yet all they do is continually paint over the mold. The problem is not as severe in the larger rooms fronting the beach. If you can't get a relatively mold-few room, its impossible to stay here. A shame because this hotel is located on a valuable and under-utilized piece of real estate.

COCONUT BEACH RESORT great place to stay”

Very large rooms.Courtesy of the staff was fantastic.The rooms are clean,sleek and the beds are comfortable.Bathroom is modern and spacious. The breakfast could have been better.Complementary water was provided in all rooms.The beach was aprox 30-mtrs from the hotel.Location is great, it is five minets walk to all the shopping area, and the hustle and bustle of Lamai beach. We will definitely stay there again

Lovely and very Thai place”

We loved every minute of our stay at Coconut Beach resort.Large and comfortable room (Luxury Sea View) with real luxury view.Loved the simple breakfasts outside near the pool and the sea.The beach is great and the pool is big and clean, with no crowd anywhere.At the end of each day, two minutes walk behind the hotel and we were at the main street with restaurants, bars, markets and good massage salons. I would very much like to go back again to this hotel.

Central location”

the best location for lamai, close to the main street and right on the beach. 2 minute walk to all the bars, restaurants and shops. the rooms are big. air con was working very well. the water pressure was good. overall, great value.

Nice Hotel, Good Location”

It's a really nice hotel... Staff went out of their way to be friendly. The location is great relative to Lamai beach, yet not too busy. Breakfast was included and was among the best we had on our trip.

Happy staff clean rooms”

no complaints at all far enough away to get away from noise in lamai but close enough to be in the heart of lamai with in 5 mins and close enough to beach to be in the surf within 5 mins and a great little restaurant on beach with good prices called mr bamboos

Nice location, no smiles”

this was the 2nd stay at this hotel. the rooms are large, it has a decent swimming pool and is at the beach and centre of lamai. unfortunately the lady at the reception could not smile and welcome us with in a way you would like as a guest. later when asking for some toilet paper she told why it was necessary as it was provided in the room also. why telling guest this as she could not know it was almost finished. location and rooms are good, staff can be better.

The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. Coconut Beach Resort is located very close to the night life and the beach is 50 meters away. The wifi was ok but not so fast. Swimmingpool was good but a little bit small. There is a lot of good restaurants at the beach close to the hotel.

On the beach”

Good clean hotel on the beach, sit and have your breakfast on the beach, staff were good, it could do with tea coffee in room, we were leaving very early so they made a breakfast for us to take with us, it's these little things to me that make a good hotel a great hotel
