Stayed for 13 nights at this hotel, booked the suite for my family. Price per night was on the high side but hey if the hotel is that good why not. The rooms were clean in general but don’t know why there’s so much baby flies flying around, and they fly to your face sometimes when you lie down on your bed. Location of the hotel is very accessible to shops, restaurants, tourist sights, broadway, name it. It’s walkable. Their housekeeping staffs needs to be re-oriented because they knock at you door like once or twice then opens your door immediately, or knocks once or twice and immediately walks away. I think it’s a given that the hotel staff should give it like 10 seconds or so for the guest to answer the knock. Or worst what if you’re not dressed appropriately yet and they come barging in. Also the housekeeping during the clean up room, leaves undetermined number of bottled water in the room. I mean no specific it’s like whatever they feel like. Sadly on our last three days of stay, they didn’t replenish bottled water anymore. When we called to request it never came. When we followed up we were told that based on their record the bottled water was already delivered even though there were none delivered. We finally went to the front desk to inform them of the problem only to be told that the hotel ran out of bottled water. 🤷♀️🤦
I booked this hotel because of their location and reputation. Since day one when i went to check in, I'm not happy with their staff at reception. They use a trainee at reception. He looks so confuse in what he do. I have 3 booking but 8 night is continually since 2 nov - 10 nov and i also booked the room in the same type. so i told him at first that i don't want to check in check out during my stay. but he said i might have to move to other room with other booking and i dont understand why hotel cant manage this issue. Other staffs is not useful and helpful, they were standing at the counter and did nothing until i asked to talk to manager. hotel concierge is so useless. when i ask about road closure during New York marathon, they didn't explain anything just send me papers and i have to read by myself. When we ask about detail, they said they don't know too.

Checked in with some apprehension about this hotel through Agoda reviews and various blogs. My husband and I departed from Korea, so this is our first experience with American culture, especially hotel culture in New York. I will write in detail to help those in a similar situation. I was slightly annoyed by the destination fee policy and deposit at a previous hotel, so I decided to ask detailed questions before checking in. We arrived at 11 AM and were informed that free early check-in is possible (payment is required before 10 AM). So, we proceeded with check-in. The deposit fee is $150 per day, with $35 going towards the destination fee. You can spend $35 each day at the restaurant on the first floor (you have to spend it!), otherwise, it's money lost. You can also order room service, but there's a $10 delivery fee. Even if you spend $35, an 18% tip is automatically applied (so it comes to about $50). In our case, we paid a deposit of $150 for 4 nights, totaling $600, and spent about $50 daily (to utilize the destination fee) at the restaurant (which is deducted from the deposit). Then at checkout, we receive a receipt for $600 - $230 ($50 x 4 days + tax) (this is an approximate amount). Up to this point, everything related to charges has been very friendly and accurate, with no unfair charges or unkindness. They even sent a free sofa bed because we have a child. Room cleaning was done twice a day. The suite bedroom was spacious and pleasant, and we were highly satisfied with no complaints. When you enter the room, there’s a large wooden box (refrigerator) at the entrance, the top section is paid, but the lower section has a Nespresso coffee machine, snacks, water, and possibly wine, which they said is free. We will need to confirm this later with a bill. In summary, although there are certainly some strict aspects, other places in New York have similar systems, and I actually got the impression that this was reasonable for the price. If there are no additional charges on the final bill, I would definitely consider revisiting. My husband had some concerns during check-in and asked the same questions multiple times, but they answered everything kindly without any irritation.
