A very comfortable stay in this refurbished hotel. I like that the floor has security - you need a hotel key card to enter your hotel room floor. Also great that you can get down to the carpark directly from your room floor. Hotel is situated next to the train tracks but it was surprisingly quiet - hardly heard the train passing. Room is spacious & bed was comfortably firm. Aircon was strong enough to cool the room down quickly. Shower does not have a curtain or divider to keep the shower water from splashing all over the floor. Tiles are slippery after a shower so be careful. My room 1807’s shower head holder was loose but we managed to rig it so it doesn’t keep sliding down (and onto the floor!) Only bad thing is that the room door BANGS SHUT, there’s no gentle stop to prevent the door from slamming shut and startling other guests. Thought maybe it was just our room, but no, we heard other guests’ room doors slam shut too. Love that this hotel has a mall with a Cowboy Supermarket - loads of things at wholesale prices, I had a wild time shopping. Plenty of food options even late into the night just across the road from the hotel. There’s a famous Mok Gao Beef Noodles within 10 minutes’ walking distance, and a late night (till midnight!) Chinese Kopitiam across the road. Good place to stay, and it’s quite near the train station and bus depot.

2nd time staying at this hotel - easy parking, and a spacious quiet room with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. This time we had the King room which overlooks the main road, but was surprisingly quiet. I would prefer the rooms facing the railway track but I was told those were Queen and Twin rooms, so I’ll take a Queen next time I stay here. Room is clean and the aircon works well. Secure rooms accessible only with a room key card and direct to the car park too. There’s a fascinating Cowboy supermarket just below and Kulai commercial centre is just a 7 minute drive away. There are food options across the road.
Spacious and clean but has bad wear and tears”
The room was extremely spacious and was very clean! But had certain wear and tears like the toilet door which had difficulty closing and opening as the wooden door as expanded probably due to the water in the toilet. Stayed for 2 nights, I’m happy they provided room slippers as well! No conditioners provided. My room was facing this huge road with an Indian shop opposite and it was exceptionally loud as they blast music till 2-3am and continued blasting at 7am in the morning. On top of that, at 5am in the morning there were 3 exceptionally loud gun shots that woke us up in a shock. Hope that we could request to have a room on the other side for a more quieter rest. Other than that, our stay was pleasant.

I stayed overnight at the hotel as I was on standby for work and it was a pleasant experience. I stayed at the Queen room and it was as it was pictured. Spacious, and complete. Pros: 1. Parking access to hotel room & lobby 2. Elevator 3. Aircond was on full blast 4. Shower head gives therapeutic shower experience 5. All staff provides assistance 6. The design is aesthetically appealing. The deer gives some sort of comfort 7. Water dispenser Cons: - if you are a sensitive sleeper, avoid the room with window as the sound from karaoke still goes through. Although it will stop before 12. - TV channels are standard ones - located next to cowboy Kulai, as solo female traveller you have to be aware always! Overall it was an excellent experience, I would like to gatekeep this but sharing is caring.
A bit disappointed”
This is actually my 4 or 5 times staying here whenever I come to Kulai. This review is based on this latest experience and it does not overwrite those good comments I wrote about this hotel earlier on. 1. They upgraded my room to a premium one. I am in Room 1619. 2. The reception in the room was bad, I couldn't even access any of the creator 11, 5, 1 wifi points and keep the connection stable. I didn't have much problem in my solo room in all my previous stay. 3. Morning staff at the lobby are totally unfriendly. Expressionless especially the lady but the guy was still ok. I said good morning one time to her, she just stared at me face blank. I gave up greeting her the next day. Whereas, the afternoon staffs, the two tiny Indian ladies are very very friendly and helpful. 4. Told the guy staff at the reception in the morning not to clean my room, I repeated twice with a cross hand sign cos he doesn't speak much English. Yet, my room was still cleaned up. Because I didn't like how the person cleaning my room the day before, moving my still drying undergarment in the room into the cupboard. Luckily it didn't smell without ventilation in the cupboard or else I will freak out. And why is the housekeeper removed my empty mineral water bottle when I could use it to refill water outside the corridor where the water dispenser is. This is supposed to be go-green hotel and yet they kept taking away my bottle and giving my new ones. Very annoying.
