Dhevan Dara Resort & spa : My new home in Hua Hin”

My first time in Hua Hin. I didn't really know what I could expect from Hua Hin as I was used to spend time in Phuket and Samui. I definitively enjoyed my stay in Hua Hin and especially at Dhevan Dara Resort & spa, a real relaxing place for people who really want to be far from the busy life. I consider Dhevan Dara Resort & spa as my new home in Hua Hin !

Excellent hospitality”

There aren't a lot of villa styled hotels in Hua Hin with private pools. Dhevan Dara resort is located about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Hua Hin beach / town, so it is not too far, but yet you will find peace, tranquility and away from the busy city. Very peaceful environment. Staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Felt really at home. The only thing we wished for is less mosquitoes and insects. Well, the resort is located within the mountain and amidst mother nature, we can't truly get away from insects.

A wonderful place to relax”

I work in Bangkok, so my friend and I just wanted to go to Hua Hin to relax in a great hotel. And it was amazing, also the weather wasn't too good, we had a great time at the Dhevan Dara Resort. They picked us up in town and brought us to the resort and whenever we wanted to go back into town, we could use the shuttle service for free. Every single staff member was so friendly. I will go there again - but the next time in a private villa with pool.

We wanted a short break and Hua Hin was the ideal location as it is easily accessible from Bangkok - approximately 2.5 hours by car. The Dhevan Dara Resort and Spa whilst located some way out of Hua Hin is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The Resort was not very full at the time we were there (July 2009), so there was little interaction with other guests. The rooms were great, very large and spacious and were big enough to lounge around in when the rain set in. Although the staff were helpful they did not have a good understanding of English which sometimes made communication a little difficult, however they were always eager to please. As the resort is located about a 20 minute drive from the centre of Hua Hin, guests either need to stay in the hotel to eat, or take the shuttle bus into the town centre. The shuttle bus operates several times a day and we found that taking the 6pm bus enabled us to have a lovely seafood dinner in Hua Hin before returning on the late bus back to the resort. The resort does to have a lot of evening entertainment, so if you are looking for nightlife, then this is not the place for you. We noticed that the resort needed some general maintenance particularly around the main pool area - and with a little attention to detail such as the repair of the pool deck, this would be a great place to stay.

Remote location but with its own uniqueness”

This is the first time my husband and I were in Hua Hin and we decided to choose Dhevan Dara not only because it is situated away from Hua Hin downtown, Dhevan Dara offers individual villa style accommodation which suits both of us. We stayed in the Jasmine Villa for three nights; the Jasmine Villa does not have a private pool and instead, it has a very well-kept courtyard. One our second day, we spent one morning sunbathing in the courtyard before heading to downtown for lunch. While we love the interior of the villa as it is very Balinese style, there is one drawback, that is, the bathroom. The layout of the bathroom is rather awkward in which the bathtub being located in the middle of the room, allows very little walkway from one end (toilet area) to the other end (wash basin). In addition, the bathtub doesn't really allow one to soak comfortably in the tub. In the end, we didn't use the bathtub other than for shower. Note, there is no separate shower area. Though the location of the resort is away from downtown, the resort offers free shuttle service at fixed intervals. As the shuttle service hours are fixed, one should plan the day and reserve the shuttle service with the front desk. It takes about 15-20 mins from the resort to downtown. There is a spa available within the resort (The Water Spa Village) which we didn't use as we managed to find alternative spa resorts in the downtown area for more affordable prices. If you are not planning to head to downtown Hua Hin and do not mind paying up to 50% more for certain spa treatments, you can certainly have your spa within steps. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Dhevan Dara and will recommend to other couples who do not mind the condition of the bathroom as described.

Peace of mind out of the city”

Me and my family was looking to get some out of urban experience and decided to pay Huahin a visit. Dhevan Dara was selected by us as we browse through multiple other choices avaiable. The small hut concept and its surrounding was definitely good those who to take photo and who wants to have a peace of mind as Dhevan Dara has its own small "village" compound. I will definitely revisit the hotel in the future and hope that those who is paying a visit to Huahin will consider the hotel as it definitely live up to its expectation

The best thing about Dhevan Dara Resort & Spa are its wonderful staff! The staff and level of service make this a great resort and a wonderful stay. The rooms are so comfortable and tastefully decorated, its the ideal place for honeymooners and families alike. We went with two small children and were treated like celebrities! The decor and design of the resort is classy & Thai.

a true resort”

What a nice surprise. I expected the location to be far from the beach, that's fine...we drove. Took about 15 mins to Hua Hin beachfront in the car. Shuttle service was good although the minibuses do get full up, in which case then have to get a taxi back. The hotel staff are great, good English and helpful - they will also sort out the booking of the shuttle service. The hotel is truly resort-style with its small boutique pool, dimly lit and exotically styled eating area, widened roads and tropical villas. Very relaxing but very quiet in peak season. They have activities every day (free) but no-one to participate when the resort is quiet. The food is excellent (especially the complimentary chicken ball starter!) but takes time to prepare. Every villa has bikes to roam around the resort or golf carts to shuttle you around if your villa is further from reception - amazing touches. The villas themselves are pure tropical pleasure with a big bed, unique layout and private garden! However, mosquitoes and flies do get in...there is a net over the main bed. Lovely to leave the big glass doors open all night and a/c off - it's quiet at night with birdsong in the morning. However, bed is not that comfortable: quite hard and pillows not soft enough. Bathroom is fine but sometimes smells of sewage. Spa treatment was very professional and extra night prices can be negotiated. Shuttle also goes to its own little beach club restaurant on Takiab beach....a better and quieter beach than the main Hua Hin one but still with horses/jet skies, food, showers. Will definitely be staying here again when parents visit - exceptional value for money, partly due to its hilltop location far from the beach.

excellent service, great enviorment ”

I stayed in Dhevan Dara for 2 nights with my husband and two friends. We all satisfied with the 2 bedroom villa which we stayed and the enviorment surrounded. Although its a bit far from the Hua Hin down town but they offer free shuttle bus and it takes just around 15-20 mins to Hua Hin night market. It's really a nice place that worth to stay. The food in restaurant are tasty and all the staffs there are friendly and nice. We would loves to stay again when we go to Hua Hin next time.

whenever i need to offload myself from loaded work and busy life. dhevan dara hua hin is always my first thought to get away with. i feel release and relax at the place. even only one day to stay, i can go back with full energy and ready to continue my days again.

I rented the 2 bedrooms pool villa and went with my friends last week. To summarize, we had a very good impression of the resort. They had very organized staff. The villa was really nicely decorated and very spaceous. Best of all, no need to find parking because you can just park right in front of your villa. The only bad part about our stay was that the breakfast buffet area was very crowded and there weren't enough seats, however, the staff of the restaurant was very nice and very responsive to our requests. All in all, we are already planning to revisit Dhevan Dara again.

Most relaxing private pool Vila Resort”

I have a very memoriable and great experience of staying Dhevan Dara Resort with my friends. We enjoy the vacation very much in Dhevan Dara specially our private pool villa.This kind of resort seldom be found from commerical cities. We booked the double room Private Pool Villa for 4 of us, I am really impressed by the private pool in our room once I saw the pool and our large house. It is very relaxing that we can enjoy the sunshine and swim once you wake up, and we can even have food and beverage besides our private pool. Moreover the services that Dhevan Dara provides are very high standant.

It was an extraordinary stay in Dhewan Dara, all of the staff were so friendly. Walking 50 m is supported by an electric car, to pick you after 20 m. The accomodations, private houses, we never have found at other places. Inside very well furnished, outside a great private garden. Since Dhewan Dara is located 10 km outside of Hua Hin, the nights are really quiet, best for relaxing.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The detached villas gave us privacy, but if you needed transport on the golf carts to the main building housing the restaurant and spa, they were on hand. Very important during and after the heavy rain. All the staff were oourteous at all times, giving us those famous Thai smiles. The resort is about 20 minutes out of town, towards the mountains, but frequent free hotel mini buses take you to and from Hua Hin town throughout the day and night.

I have been all over Thailand on golf vacations and have stayed in different hotels I usually rate them on cleaniness, how safe I feel, and the most important is the breakfast. Well I have to tell you that this establishment was wonderful especialy the breakfast everything was great each mourning. I even ordered room service and it was excellent. I really like this place and would to my friends about it. I did not have any problems to report and loved my stay. The only thing could say was a negative is I like the ocean and it was a little ways from Hua Hin so you do need a vehicle, but where ever I stay I am going to need a transport because I am going to the golf course and my lady is going shopping. My lady picked this place and I am glad she did. Good place I would stay again.

Comfy, quiet resort”

The Dehvan Dara resort is a good comfortable resort for one who seeks some peace and quiet. The bungalows are comfortable, attractive and privacy is pretty much guaranteed. There is a shuttlebus that brings you to and from the town of Hua Hin, where you con do some shopping and grab a bite in one of the many reastaurants.

It is a beautiful resort but quite a distance from Hua Hin. We had our own transport which I think is absolutely necessary in order to see hua Hin and surrounding district.They do have a a/c van which can take you to Hua Hin, but takes 20/25 mins. The trip to Hua Hin was made difficult by many roadworks. Beautiful accomodation. My visit was only made possible by Agoda's discount price. Breakfast was excellent,

good location, nice room”

it's quite impressive to stayed at dhevan dara resort & spa, good location and easy to find the hotel but not impressive with the service. near the temple and pa-la-u waterfall. but we booked for 2 rooms and we have telephone to the operator of the hotel that we need 2 rooms close together which's the operator has confirmed already. unfortunately, when we check-in the reception was not prepare the connection rooms for us. she said that no information and try to argued us. it's not the professional receptionist. we have to waited for our rooms 45 mins. the maid forgot to bring the towels, shampoo in my room on the second day.

Dhevan Dara really is a stunning resort. the private villas are beautiful and very well decked out. the private pool is very very good and all at a reasonable price. We did have difficulty finding the place to begin with as it is a fair distance outside of Hua Hin. My advice is to check it's location on the map before you set out. Breakfast is a nice if not spectacular buffet. The quality of the room service food was poor however (but the service itself was excellent). I would have found it helpful had there been a small convenience store on site due to the distance of the town, but that's a minor complaint. All told an excellent weekend and I would recommend Dhevan Dara to all for a relaxing stay, but would add in 1 or 2 caveats.

Dhevan Dara lies in the middle of nowhere, but is eager to please its guest with activities. They have a great spa, and several games and fun for amusement in the evenings. As usual for the outskrits resorts in Hua Hin area a free shuttle provides transportation to the city. They also have a beach club (the shuttle departs to it several times a day)which we didn't have the time to visit. That's good because the poolarea isn't that big and it can get very hot during the day at the resort. The food in the restaurant is okey and we liked the breakfast.
