I'll take this hotel any day”
If you're a budget traveller, I guess hostels would be the first thing in your mind. But after weeks of hostels - sharing rooms, bathrooms, and not to mention lugging stuff on places without elevators or too far from places you should be ....This hotel is a God-send. I tried two budget hotels and hostels in Auckland, but after trying this amidst the not so great rating, this will now be my go-to hotel in Auckland. Sure it's not five star but hey I'll take this over hostels. Location is dead center. It's near everything. What I love is that it's near the Intercity bus station - for the tours. The room maybe small (I got a compact double) but it works for me. My own bed and bathroom. Price is ok. Moreover, it's clean. Breakfast is 14.50 nzd for continental buffet which is better than toast and peanut butter. They have free wifi but after you used up the allotted mb for the day, you have to buy. If you don't use that much like me, no big deal. Staff is ok. They will do their best to help you. My only complaint is that they should soundproof some rooms cuz it can get noisy as you're near a busy road. But overall, I like this place. I plan a lot of visits to NZ and this hotel will be included in those.

Perfect location .. .. everything is within walking distance, if you are ok with walking .. 15 min walk to the docks, ferry, britomart bus/ train station ... plus buses on queens etc.. Granted lots of hills but that is Auckland in general. We felt the location was great and everything was walkable .. it was also easy to take the bus or ferry ( $13.50 for 2 ) to Devenport, or bus to Sylvia Park or Mission Bay.

Econo Lodge is best for its reasonable price and location. Bed is a bit too soft, overall a clean and tidy lodge, would recommend for budget travellers!

Adequate for what you pay for”
location in central cbd, great for exploring auckland city. parking is annoying (we parked at the aoetera sq. uncovered parking),, closest parking is $6 flat rate from 6am to 6pm, so if you plan on staying overnight you'll need to wake up at 6am to pay another $6 friendly staff, we arrived late for check in, and staff diligently checked us in with no additional cost. the rooms were disappointing. the rooms didn't look like the photos that were provided. small and the flow isn't very smooth. we stayed on a high floor so we couldn't hear too much night life noise. bathroom curtain rack was flimsy, tripped over the curtain and the whole thing pulled out of wall. hot water was good. beds were springy. overall an ok experience.

hotel is in the heart of auckland city. room is small and is is clean. hotel breakfast is nice but pricey. however there are many fastfood outlets within walking distance. the internet is in the lobby cost nzd2 for 20 mins.

Great value for money”
This was a nice hotel to stay. Located just 10 min away from Britomart , 2 min walk to Queen Street, 2 min walk to theAirbus Express Stop, and within walking distance to many of the city atractios. The staff was nice and helpful. The room has many amenities such as: iron & iron board, heater, coffee maker and Only downside was complimentary cofee and tea every day, etc. Only downside was the size,rooms are tiny, but for one person was perfect.for me.

My stay was fine; the hotel is in a great location; but the windows don't block out the downtown sound; room was very small - but clean; bed was 'broken in' - if it was a newer mattress - the room would've been better; but overall a good place to stay if you're looking for someplace central Auckland.

perfect location ! just next to Sky Tower and off the Queen St. shopping Cetre just around the corner the rooms a bit small with a small local only LCD TV , at night time a bit noisy wellbecause it`s the City centre ... , great service/reception !

Cheap hotel with good location ”
This was not a fancy hotel by any means, but was good for a stay as a solo traveler in the city. The room was small, but provided me with the necessities and was satisfactory. The bed was comfortable and the room had a heater/ironing board/blow dryer, which made it worth the slightly extra cost than I would have paid for a backpackers accommodation. The stay could have been improved if the rooms had wifi, but otherwise it was good and a great location to the sky bus stop for the airport, many restaurants, and a close walk to public transit.

Passing through”
The disappointing portion of this review is primarily due to internet (wi-fi) which was slow while only allowing only 300 MB per day, barely enough to check a few emails. Internet (wi-fi) never enough to communicate with family or friends via video (Skype, FaceTime) or cruise FB when there is inclimate weather. My room was VERY small but as a single person I made due, albeit barely. For a female I think this would be a bit disappointing since there was no counter space in the bathroom to set anything. All this being said, the room was clean, the staff nice and helpful, the location very good in my opinion. Father Ted's Irish bar close by (same block), with good food and drink, theater and food (mostly Asian) court across the street along with other eateries and shopping. Another great thing about the location is the "Sky Bus" to and from the airport is close @ hand. BTW, this is my second stay @ this facility and I would stay again if traveling through NZ.

location is perfect for exploring auckland. no need for cabs. buses are close. eating and drinking places are good. parking next door but you to pay and if you stay after 10am u pay the whole day. worthwhile for a stay in auckland if you are exploring all day.

Central Location; Helpful staff”
The place is easy to find and was very close to our conference (SkyTower) and the Civic Theater but not as expensive. There was no parking in the area because of the construction right in front of the hotel but this could not be helped. Access to wifi in our room was limited to 100Mb per day and ran out more quickly. The staff were helpful and readily provided advice/recommendations when asked. The tap was not as nice...with one tap for cold and another tap for hot water - we preferred one tap wherein temperature could be regulated. The noise from people on the streets or in the pub were still heard inside the room even if we were already on the 6th floor on some days, were not the best but was tolerable. Overall, we liked our stay at this place.
