Satisfied and willing to return”
I would definately stay here again. The hotel has a great view both from the roof and from the rooms. The rooms were cleaned daily and were very large. The free fresh fruit was also a very nice touch. It is very close to central department store and just a short ride to the Chiang Mai Zoo, University, Aquarium, Doi Suthep and the Super Highway, but it is not noisy. There is a great outdoor buffet right behind the hotel which is great and offers live music as well. There are also many restaurants on Huay Kaew Rd. It is not in the city square but definately not far. Worst thing about the hotel was the swimming pool hygiene. Since the corridors of the hotel was not air conditioned (nor are the rooms when you are gone) it was often times muggy and unpleasant. It can also be difficult to find at first. (easiest way to get there is to go down huay kaew and turn right, from the city, onto the super highway and make the turnaround... You will see the Chiang Mai Grandview and the Furama is just down the street back towards Huay Kaew. I hope you enjoy your stay as well but remember each person is different and so are their opinions :)

Top class hotel for a 3 star price”
The Furama is a great hotel for the money. It's comfortable and recently refurbished, and the rooms are top quality with all modern fittings and furniture. There is free internet in the rooms and the lobby. I would use this hotel again and recommend it to my friends and family. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track, but you can walk the whole way to Huay Keaw road under airconditioned cover through the attached Hillside 4 hotel, and once on Huay Keaw road you are close to shops and bars and about 5 minutes walk away from the massive Kad Suan Kaew shopping centre which is worth a visit in its own right. Also on Huay Kaew road you can easily catch a songtaew or tuktuk anywhere in Chiang Mai. Our room price didn't include breakfast, but this needn't be a problem as eating in Chiang Mai is cheap and good quality.

Big rooms, big service”
My first time staying at the Furama Chiang Mai. Downsides: quite a distance to anywhere. Even a walk to Maya Shopping Mall required a 10 min stroll along a poorly lit lane and then across a major traffic junction. Song taew to and from the Night Bazaar could take as long as 30 mins, depending on traffic. Furniture in room was a little old. Corridors were quite warm, and a little creepy at night. Upsides: Stayed in a suite which I discovered to my delight was quite large. View was fantastic, esp in the mornings when you draw the curtains open. There is a great mookata BBQ right outside the hotel and it is quite affordable. There's also a small family restaurant and convenience store right outside the hotel. Staff is very friendly and went out of the way to help me. Will seriously consider staying here again.

Stay in Chiang Mai”
We have an incredible stay at Furama Chiang Mai from 6th - 12th Oct, 2018. Never regretted making this our choice, even though reading thru some negative reviews earlier. Firstly, upon check in, the reception straight away mentioned that they have upgraded my original booking for a Superior Triple to a Deluxe Triple. The room is large comfortable and clean. Daily house-keeping is clean and tidy, towels changed daily. Breakfast is okay, some changes daily to the servings. Dining area is large enough. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There are two swimming pools, one at the roof top with an excellent 360 view of the city. Lastly, the location is simply great. We are within walking distance to the large shopping mall and the popular Nimman Road. Highly recommended.

Great short get away at Furama Chiang Mai”
Upon entering the hotel, we immediately felt the sense of comfort. The staffs welcoming us were very hospitable and charming. The check-in process took quite quick and handled in efficient manner. One of the bell staffs (could not remember the name) was really helpful and patience by explaining things to do in the city of Chiang Mai for a family ( I came with my wife and our 2 boys. We stayed for 3 nights and agreed that this was a worthy short get-away. To top it all off, the hotel gave us a nice complimentary dinner at the Khantoke restaurant, which provided some Thai traditional food and dances entertainment. Very cool and entertaining. We felt that we had made the right choice, and already planning our next trip to Chiang Mai, and of course we will stay (longer period this time) in Furama hotel.

Nice room size”
We were upgraded to a suite room. I must admit that the size of the double room suite was amazing. I have never seen a suite this spacious before. Having stayed at the Furama in Pattaya before, we chose to stay in Chiang Mai. Not only was the room size great, made us feel like home, but the price was good for being Songkran. The hotel is a bit old and breakfast leaves room for improvement. Nevertheless, we will stay here again during our next getaway to Chiang Mai.

Nice Hotel and Good Service”
Furama Chiang Mai is a nice hotel located approximately approximately two km from the ancient city of Chiang Mai. The rooms offer sufficient space and the staff is nice and friendly. The facilities are ok including two swimming pools. The breakfast buffet could offer more variety. Overall judgement: a good place to stay when visiting Chiang Mai and surroundings.

large rooms with good location”
There's quite a bit to like about the Furama which is an older hotel under new management. Not much has changed about the facilities however. The bathrooms could do with an updating. Still they are large and they are kept clean. So are the larger than average rooms. The internet access can be a bit spotty and I don't believe it's offered free of charge in all the rooms. I think they do a good job with the breakfast buffet and the cleaning staff is prompt and efficient with the rooms. The location isn't bad. It's not really near the tourist areas except for the Niemmen Rd. area which is right around the corner. The night bazaar is a fifteen minute tuk tuk ride away. The rooms have comfortable beds though there are signs of aging throughout the hotel. Still, all in all this is a good value choice for Chiang Mai.

Excellent Hotel. Beautiful!!!”
we had a wonderful stay at furama. it is a little bit outside of the heart of the city but we were able to get a red truck for 1.00-1.50 per person anywhere in the city with a 15 minute ride or less. for the price, this hotel can't be beat. we spent around per night and there are restaraunts, 2 pools, flat screen t.v's free wifi and the list goes on. we stayed for 6 days over christmas holiday and will definitely be staying at furama on our next trip to chiang mai.

Dear Aue-angkoon, Thank you for your stay and kind review. Sincerely yours,
Exceeded expectations”
The Furama was a very pleasant surprise walking into a very large and impressive lobby that could easily be that of a 5 star hotel. The rooms did not disappoint either being very spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The Xianadu rooftop bar/lounge afforded a beautiful, panoramic view of Chiang Mai and the nearby mountains and was, in our opinion, a highlight. Both pools are exceptionally nice, particularly the rooftop pool adjacent to the Xianadu.

one of Chiang Mai's finest hotels”
Whenever we chose a hotel in Chiang Mai, we have certain requisites inherent in that well thought out choice. First is value for the money. Furama has excellent value because it is a four star hotel charging 2 star prices through Agoda. Secondly, it has the type location we require-close to highways, shopping, restaurants and night life.

Great stay in spacious 2 bedroomed accommodation”
We enjoyed this Furama hotel so much this was our third stay in less than 2 weeks. We were quickly checked in and bags brought to the rooms. The accommodation consisted of a large lounge diner and 2 good sized bedrooms, one with office area, both ensuite. The bathrooms would benefit from some maintenance, but were good enough. Rooms were kept clean throughout our stay. Rooms would have been better with more lighting at night, but didn't affect our stay. Accommodation gave us access to the executive lounge where drink and food was free during happy hour, but it was not really the drink and food that made it special, but the excellent service and travel advice giving to us. Breakfast was good, the Chef is a real character. Hotel is a bit out from the city centre, but there is a good mall 5 minutes walk away, free shuttle to other malls and only a short taxi ride to anywhere else. Check out was smooth and bags taken out to our transport with what we found was the usual friendly service. All in all we enjoyed our brief stay and will definitely return when next visiting Chiang Mai.

Clean Rooms, Attentive Staff, OK Location”
Overall, its an okay location if you can walk the distance to Huay Kaew Road and catch a Songtaw. The lobby is impressive making us often think we were in a 5 star hotel, and some staff were over the top helpful. However, others were not. We had a nice view of the mountain from our room, and if you didn't look down you could overlook the empty, somewhat desolate looking field. We had a really restful time, and loved the free internet, which you had to get a new code and password each day, sometimes multiple times a day. The room service was pretty good. We often had to ask them to give us our complimentary water and instant coffee each day as they seemed to forget, but they were kind to us each time we requested. They all wanted to entertain our 1 year old daughter, and were kind enough to provide a crib free of charge. I think it was great overall, and would consider staying again. We like the Lotus which has a much better location being attached to the mall, but Furama is much cleaner, has free internet, some nicer staff, better pools and a sauna. Our deluxe room had jet powered bath tub which we loved.

Nice stay at a Chiang Mai classic”
We were happy to stay at Furama for 10 days. The rooms are a bit old, and staff allowed to change rooms twice before we were happy. It is situated away from major roads, but still within easy reach of Nimman area and Huay Kaew road. Staff are very nice and helpful. We thought that the breakfast was expensive (400Baht) so we did not try it. We would probably choose another, newer hotel in the same price range next time, but would recommend Furama to friends and family.

Great location, high speed internet ”
I was worried seeing some other reviews, most from U.K and U.S people who likely never traveled outside a U.S. city, their reviews were bad, an indication of their lack of world travel. Chiangmai is an older city, Furama is one of the oldest best locations well maintained hotels, it is not the Trump Tower but it is super clean, super good location, blazing fast internet with zero blind spots, friendly staff, amazing food, service, security access to everything you need Chiangmai. The rooms are huge as this used to be a condominium in the past, cleaning staff is amazing For the money it is likely the best value in Asia, double the money it is still better than most hotels in Asia for this price. I would recommend it to anyone

Great value for money”
The hotel was great to stay in. The staff were amazing and sorted anything out with the minumum of fuss. The room size was quite large, and the bathroom was large as well. Very clean and presentable. Sometimes with some Tuk Tuk drivers it took a bit of pointing / explaining to get them to drop us off at the main entrance of the hotel, but otherwise it was just as easy to get them to drop us of at the entrance to the Hillside Plaza on Huay Kaew Road.
