After staying in several hotels, this is the clear winner. The host was kind enough to let me check in earlier. He was meticulous about everything and always made sure his place was tip top. The room was very spacious, had a kitchenette with proper cooking facilities and microwave. All standard items were available. High quality installations and memories. Comfortable beddings and good heating. Water took mere seconds to heat up. Just outside is the 7-eleven and bus stop to seoraksan. He prepared fresh towels for the next day. The room had 2 bins to sort out trash on top of regular bins. The view opened up to the majestic seorak mountains and the generous glass panels did the views justice. The lobby area was classy and the entire place was grand for a small boutique hotel. I think anyone would be impressed with the place.
Based on the advice from people around me that I shouldn't expect too much from accommodations near Seoraksan, I looked for a place that is cleanly managed. When I visited the Seoraksan area, I found that, aside from large-scale resorts, most of the accommodation buildings looked quite similar. I found the place that seemed to be the cleanest by looking at photos and reviews. The facilities are somewhat outdated, but there was no mold in the bathroom or the kitchenette at all, and I was amazed to see that the kitchen sink was sparkling clean. The bedding was soft, and the slightly rough cover also helped me sleep well. There's a convenience store about 100 meters away and a restaurant with decent Google reviews nearby. I recommend it as a clean accommodation with good cost-effectiveness without high expectations.
I made a reservation during the peak season. Since the prices in Sokcho were quite burdensome during the peak season, I made a reservation while looking for options. Just for reference, I went with two children. 1. It may not look like much from the outside, but once you enter, it feels quite old (like accommodations used for school retreats in the past), but I thought it was very well maintained. 2. In terms of accessibility, it was not far for us who went to the beach, which was nice. 3. They also helped us with drying our laundry, which we needed. 4. The price was reasonable compared to other accommodations. If I go to Sokcho again, I would consider visiting again.

Pleasant and quiet stay mid week, best option for me to explore park as solo traveller with bus stop just two mins walk away and 7/11 one minute away. Restaurants may close around 5pm otherwise eat after hiking I the park area also before 5. Nice stay recommended

For the price, the stay is great. It is so spacious with a mini kitchen, living room and bed room. There are also sufficient bins provided. Though facilities/room may look old, it is cleaner than other more expensive hotels I have stayed in. Furthermore, it is located near to Seoraksan park, which is good for hiking. Highly recommended.
