Nice hotel perfect for airport transit”

We stayed in this hotel as we had a 21 hour transit in Singapore. The hotel had everything a traveller may need including, nice pressure hot shower, clean toilet and bathroom, hot water kettle and free coffee, free bottled water, comfortable bed, fast and strong wifi signal and loads of cheap to medium priced restaurants and currency exchanges just around the corner. The cheapest eats was the Old Airport Hawker market 2km from the hotel. The airport shuttle dropped us at the hotel at 5am (S$9 per person), the reception is 24/7, and we were quickly checked in as we had booked online. The hotel initially gave us a room without a window but I requested one as that was what was in the pictures in the Agoda website. The room with the window was slightly bigger and was nicer than the room without a window. We asked the hotel to order a Grab car for us to take us back to the airport (S$25) which was no problem. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is amazing!!!”

I had a great experience in Singapore staying at Orchid 81 Hotel. The hotel is really clean and the facilities are excellent. The staffs are also friendly and kind.

Clean, new, works”

Small rooms kept nicely. Everything works well normally but the Internet access is very occasionally slow. I was offered a terrible small cave room initially but I complained and got a room with a window. Nothing in Singapore is cheap but the location offers cheap food, convenience stores and other delights nearby. 10 minute walk to Kallang or a busy bus stop 1 minute away on Geylang road.

Exceptional”

The hotel is renovated and not too far from the main attractions in Singapore. Price was also really good. The downside is that some of the rooms we have booked had no window and there were only 2 towels in each double room.

Dubious location but good value”

I mean... this is in Geylang, so. Proximity to many food places, though. The facilities are nice enough for the price, and things are generally pretty clean. There's a fridge in the room, which is a nice surprise I did not expect beforehand. Some handsoap in the bathroom would be helpful in COVID season. Noise does travel very easily from the hallway to the room (and vice versa, I assume), which isn't ideal. The front desk staff and courteous and efficient, very professional.

Great value for money”

This place have been recently refurbished and it is clean and got a nice modern look. The room we got was tiny and there was not much space for bags, however after rearranging some things we have managed to make ourselves comfortable. The location is about 10-15min walk from the nearest MRT station but if you're coming back to the hotel late at night you have a bus stop very close and the buses running there are going frequently every direction. Best advice - get a Citymapper app to go around. The neighborhood is lively and there is plenty of 24/7 options to buy your water/drinks or food. You will not be able to buy alcohol in the shop after 10:30 PM however. This is the law. The room has got a fridge and safe deposit. Now, the staff overall was accomodating and nice apart from the fact that one of the members of their crew has deliberately closed the lift doors on me and made gave me bruises on my arm as the door had hit me while he was furiously pressing the door closing button to go down. He didn't apologize or even blinked with an eye. That was the only downfall to our stay and had been reported to the front desk. Apart from that incident all was great! And I would recommend this place.

TINY”

This was the tiniest hotel room ever, barely enough to get by for two, but uncomfortably. Luckily it's recently refurbished and the simple and efficient design a big help. Its hard to recommend it because it's SO small but maybe that's all you get in Singapore for the price. Otherwise it's pretty great; one block from bus stop (MRT station is two bus stops away) and many eateries nearby. ps. my husband says it could be a "love hotel" as well which is quite common in japan. ps. if I did it over again, I'd probably splurge a little and get a little more room to move around.

Not suitable for family”

I booked Hotel 81 because its located near National Stadium where me and my husband were going to the concert. The room is smaller than I expect, but the cleanliness got the point. But I got shocked when I go there there’s a couple across my room who might be get laid and make noisy sound, and I can hear it clearly and it was so annoying. And it was 10 am, come on, guest, know your place and time. 😞 Overall, the hotel quite nice but I don’t think I’ll come back later, just not my kind of hotel. And anticipate the noisy-annoying sound that came from couple, I don’t think this is a friendly hotel for family and kids. Thank you.

Good standard room for the price”

Pros: Nice staff Room was virtually new and clean Good price for Singapore Cons: Noise coming in from corridor is not good they need to have more sound isolation in doors & corridors need sound absorption. Shower has no screen so the bathroom was soaked.. easy fix Not to close to MRT but buses are pretty good

No window”

The room was very small. But it had no window. Said nothing about this whilst booking. All photos had them. Also everything gets wet in the bathroom when showering. Friendly staff and decent price.

Very new hotel”

Everything’s is good, nice location , many restaurants surround there, 7-11 just walk two min. Just the room little small. aircond very cool and big tv inside room.

Very good”

Excellent in location, value for money and especially cleanliness. Above all, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating , especially Shawn was immensely helpful. For the price, room was very well equipped. Room was not big though but comfortable enough. Keep it up!!!

It is in the red light area”

I booked the hotel totally based on location and price. However, when I inquired the hotel while looking for it, three persons told me that the hotel is in the red light district. It is definitely not a great area for family travellers. And I found out that as the public transport is exceptionally fantastic in the republic, I could just stay anywhere and it would still be as easy for me to get just about anywhere in Singapore. However, the hotel staff is helpful, especially Aina who took the trouble to get us another room with twin beds, instead of a queen bed room, as I was with my adult son. The room and the toilet are clean. But the toilet was just too small for comfort. The bed is comfortable and other than it's location in the red light area, the hotel is fine.

Small but clean”

Very small bathroom that barely have space for a shower sandwiched between sink and wall right next to you. Decor is crisp and business-like and bed is firm and good giving tired bodies a good night's rest. Good value by Singapore's standards only.

Clean & Convenience”

Very clean hotel, Free wifi, speed very fast. Easy to catch public transport, Near MRT & Bus Station. Staff are very friendly.

Situated in Geylang”

Easy access from Kallang MRT station. Halal food available nearby. Parking available at the facility. Room has no safe or fridge but was clean and comfortable with wifi, smart tv with YouTube, nice twin single beds.
