location ia good as it is accesible to bus stops, have lots of hawkers near by to eat anytime of the day, there is also a supermarket Sheng Shong where you can buy some groceries items such as juice, snacks and foods etc that you need, staff are friendly and usually provides what are requested of them.. the room is just great, not big but comfortable enough for a good night rest.. there might be some improvements or additions that should have been added like bidet in the bathroom.. i hope management in the future can made this addition to each and every rooms there. it would be perfect.. but at the end of the day.. i still would go back there whenever i am in Singapore.... as this is our 4th time there .. more power to Hotel 81 Premier Star

Worth Every Penny”

My family and I were really surprised with Hotel 81 Premier Star. We didn't expect much because it is a budget hotel and most of the reviews are not really good. But we were really surprised when we arrived at the property. It is near the bus stop, quite a walk to the nearest Aljunied Station. The area might be filled with brothels but it was not a problem at all. It is also near convenience stores and fast food restaurants. The room are small but spacious. It was newly renovated, very clean and comfortable. The staff are also very accommodating. Overall, we loved our stay!

Good room”

Geylang may not be a popular tourist spot, but surely it is the best place to stay for solo travelers. Yes, hostels are a good choice for solo travelers, but Hotel 81 Premier Star offers you the relaxation with the same price (at least). Cons: Ants in the room, no buffet breakfast (this was already escalated to the management). The hotel in itself has a potential.

Good place to stay”

We stayed at 81 Premier Star for two times and liked the location between airport and downtown. The area around the hotel is packed with hawker markets, so you can find a lot of local food for cheap money. But expect to be the only foreigner. The MRT is a 10min walk away, so you can go explore the city. The hotel room was clean and had everything you need. We would always prefer a fan over aircon, but there is only the latter option. Our rooms smelled like the former customer smoked a lot, though. And we had a NON-smoking room. That was kinda ugly. The staff is quite friendly and they stored our luggage for two weeks without charging. Thanks for that. We recommend this Hotel!

Terrific Staycation”

Booked Hotel 81 Premier Star for a 1 night staycation. Arrived at the hotel approximately 1420hrs and had an extremely swift check in process. A pleasant lady. The room is slightly small however, it was big enough not to be claustrophobic. The cleanliness was great. Requested an additional towel and received it not even 10 minutes later. Service was awesome. I checked in here a couple of times before and it never fails to maintain the standard. Apart from the location ( Red Light District ), it is definitely a food heaven for food addicts. Will definitely be back again.

Great Location and Value for Money”

We always choose Hotel 81 Premier Star whenever we go to Singapore to watch the WTA Finals at the SG Indoor Stadium. The location is great because it's highly-accessible and there are a lot of food stalls or restaurants nearby.

Very good value for money”

You might not be very comfortable if you are a female traveler traveling alone or if you are family traveling with young children. However, it is highly recommended for couples / groups as this might be the best hotel with that price in Singapore. The room is very clean and modern as this is newly renovated. Geylang is also famous for food so this is a very good area for food enthusiasts. Hotel 81 Star is within 10 minutes walking distance to Aljunied MRT station which is not so far from the tourist attractions, too.

I guess our only gripe would be that their internet/wifi was unforgivably slow but everything else was awesome. Also, Geylang is indeed a red light district and might not be best for a family travelling together. But if that's not a problem, choosing Hotel 81 Star would be a smart choice. Take our word for it! Totally acceptable budget hotel”

We were after a cheap and clean option for a one night stoppover and Hotel 81 (Premier) Star proved to be just that. For approximately AUD$68 we stayed in a superior double room which although small, contained all the necessities (comfortable bed, tv, small refrigerator, clean bathroom, free wi-fi, room safe & hairdryer). Breakfast was not included but there are plenty of food options nearby. We ate twice at the Food Loft food court (Cnr Aljunied Rd & Sims Ave) which was a 5 minute walk away. Caught the bus to Little India for lunch (less than SGD$1)and returned via the MRT to Aljunied Station (about an 8 minute walk to the hotel). Off peak taxi fares to and from airport cost around SGD$15-SGD$16. Probably wouldn't want to stay here long term but more than happy with Hotel 81 (Premier) Star as a transit hotel.

Very easy to get taxi at the area to all places in singapore. Near by the hotel there are varities of coffee shops most operating 24 hrs with plenty seections of western, asian foods including local foodsmThe reception staffs is very helpful and polite as well as the housekeeping.Room very clean, experiencing nice shower water. I've been staying in this hotel for ages. Especially after the last renovation. The level of staff professionalism is exceptional. Rooms are on the small size but provide everything needed. Cable channels, flawless WiFi, fridge, safety box, coffee making facilities, window, lift, on the way to the city from the airport etc. Very much recommended for 1-2 nights stay. FYI I hired a Grab taxi to the airport past midnight for only 19 Sgd. The only thing missing is breakfast but you can get 24hrs 30 meters away, let's say chicken rice, among others, for 3 Sgd. Further down on Geylang road there is a famous seafood restaurant where you can enjoy a tastefull chili grab etc. Hands down the Premiere-Star is the winner in that budget hotel area.

Good Hotel for Budget Oriented but Clean n Nice Room Demanded”

This hotel is actually a Very Well Deserved no-frill-n-value-for-money Hotel. The room is adequately sized (for typical Singapore standard room). The hotel smells nice n calming and her interior is also clean n nice. Highly Recommended for young travelers, couples. (not too recommended for family with kids though). The only drawback is just the location is in red district area (that's all the drawback though). Bravo Hotel 81 Premier, will stay there again for sure. Am pleased with the supportive service of the staff too...!

i was travelling in 2 with my sist in limited budget and my friend recommend me to 81 Star i do a lot of search before decide to book since the location is in the red light district when i saw there's many comment that its totally safe, we decide to book we can easily find the hotel locatiom from MTR Aljuneid.. only around 10mnts walk including the road searched when we arrived hotel, the lobby have a nice smell & cool which is nice after wandering the street check-in prochedure totally smooth 'n quick. i booked 1 dbl bed trough Agoda since it offer me a better price, but the front office ask me nicely do i liked to have twin bed since he know that we're 2 female stayed together room space n bathroom was small but it expected,, all in good condition & worked well.. free wifi with good network as well which is important for budget traveller like us the room was clean n comfy,, they also provide 2 big towels, soap 2in1 shampoo, 2 toothbrushs, 2 showercaps, hairdryer and also, complimentary 2 bottled water daily check-out prochedure also very quick without any problem at all i also can keep my luggage there upon my check-out overall, its a recommended hotel n i'd like to stay here again if i go to Singapore

High value hotel”

I stunt while I entering the room. This is definitely PREMIERE version of hotel 81. Everything is new, wash room is very clean! Bed is average I guess but it's a bit hard for me since I prefer soft bed. Check in is very fast, no deposit needed. U got every basic need in the room. Just an awesome hotel with the extremely cheap price!!

Nice hotel”

We have stayed at the Hotel 81 Premier Star last 2015, 2016, and just recently in Oct 2018. The hotel is very clean and has a great location as it is near the Aljunied MTR station.

Loving the minimal concept. ”

This is by far the most comfy and cleanest Hotel 81 I’ve ever stayed in. Loving the minimal concept. The only downside is: that I could literally smell cigarette smokes coming from the room next door, as if it travels through the ventilation systems. Not sure if Level 6 is considered a non-smoking floor, but the corridor does smell cigarettes when somebody is smoking from inside their room. Not to mention young guests/kids running and playing around; knocking on your door and ringing the doorbell. However it is indeed one of the best value-for-money hotels in Singapore :)

Unforgettable Trip”

I loved it very much except the breakfast is not included (although I asked for pay extra). As Hong Kong locals, Hotel 81 is a very famous hotel corporation for Hong Kong tourist and we knew that the quality of each hotel would be different. It is no doubt that I searched the related information in using relevant website. It would be appreciated if the terms of food and beverage is added in our dealing/bargaining. Hence, the staffs are very supportive though they've just offered us 1 key card only. Haha...

A delightful second time!”

Coming back as a second timer, and this time with a family, I had a great stay again at Hotel 81 Premier Star. Facilities and rooms were great, location is optimal with food places and convenience stores around the area. Very accessible via bus and a 5-8 min walk away from Aljunied MRT station. Facilities were great, rooms are clean, staff are friendly. Definitely a value for money hotel!

location error”

Hotel 81 Premier star was very hard to find as it was our first time to go to Singapore. we walked for about an hour and a half before we finally located the hotel. the locals were not helpful except for 1 when pointing out the location. But our overall stay was very comfortable. front desk was friendly, room was nice and cozy, and the place is very clean.
