OZO Chaweng Samui (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng Night Market - View on map
"Indeed a very pleasurable stay. Location of the hotel is exactly where you want to be staying in Chaweng beach. I believe Chaweng is one of the best beach to stay after visiting nearby beach. The soft sand and water is different to other beaches in Samui. Hotel's layout is very nice, simple yet sophisticated. Room is a bit small but fits my stay with no problem. All amenities are there, aircon works very well and there is an added fan in room when you simply want the breeze. Bed is supersoft, too soft for my taste including the soft pillow. If I could able to ask for pillow preference that would be very nice. TV have good channels. The only complain in room is probably the water pressure and the annoying tub like floor in the shower. A simple ceramic would do nicely why the stupid tub thing I will never understand. Cracking noise every step I take. Breakfast was great. Very nice selections every day. And the pan cake machine is very cool. There are automatic espresso machines for your own taste (cappuccino, latte, etc). Other hotels usually only serves brew coffee. As a coffee aficionados I always thought this is nice. Though better coffee been would be nice. Breakfast opens until 11 so yoi dont have to get up early just for breakfast, how considerate. Pool and beach area is well accommodating with ample beach chairs. Location of hotel is right in the middle of Chaweng. So you wouldn't miss anything. Great stay. "

Montien House Hotel (SHA Plus+)
Chaweng,Chaweng Night Market - View on map
"We picked this hotel by chance as it wasn't listed on the first 1-3 pages of Agoda's site. We chose it from looking at the map instead. We were deliberating whether to stay in Bo Phut or Chaweng. I'm glad we picked Chaweng as the concentration of eateries and entertainment venues here are higher therefore making it more fun to stroll in the evenings. The location of Montien 1/4 of the way into Chaweng street makes this location unbeatable for convenience. Apart from that, Montien is also situated off the busy Chaweng street at the end of a 50m cul-de-sac which makes this hotel relatively quiet and shielded from all the hullabaloo nearby. Given the price, you get a very spacious room with equally spacious bathroom. We had some clogging problem in the shower room trap but there is good hot running water and given the value proposition, we didn't complain. The pool is smallish about 17m and good enough for a nice dip. The hotel shares the same stretch of Chaweng beach as the rest of the hotels in this area and we could walk anywhere on this long beach to catch the perfect spot and better waves. The breakfast is limited in variety but what they have, it's good enough. As we were leaving for the jetty at 6am, the hotel was nice enough to prepare for us a breakfast box of sandwiches and fruits the evening before. If you are in the mood for some adventure, you could rent a scooter from the hotel itself which you could entrust your passport with. Other street vendors will only rent you their scooters if you surrender your passport or pay about 3000 baht as collateral. We were a bit squeamish about giving our passports to some stranger or paying the hefty deposit. We would never surrender our passports under any normal circumstance but I guess the hotel management was a more trustworthy vendor. Overall, we would definitely consider returning to Montien on our next trip to Samui! "

Chaweng Regent Beach Resort (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng Night Market - View on map
"just stayed at the chaweng regent in 2 spa villa rooms. we had booked 2 premier rooms but were pleasantly surprised when on reaching the hotel, we were informed that we had been upgraded. the rooms were large & very well maintained. the full sized bathroom had an excellent shower area & a jacuzzi that was open to the sky. breakfast at the chom talay restaurant was amongst the best i have ever had! huge spread with a great mix of continental & asian foods. although there are 2 pools - the garden pool & the beach pool, we only ended up using the latter. its beachfront location was superb & the water was always at a very comfortable temperature. the garden pool, with a sunken bar, was lovely as well. the beach in front of the hotel is great - clean white sand & clear water! the hotel grounds are lovely & beautifully maintained. dark wood boardwalks winding through lush greenery create a very calming effect. all house-keeping & room-service calls were attended to promptly & the staff were always smiling & cooperative. the airport pick-up & drop was also handled very well by the hotel. the shops, restaurants & massage parlours of chaweng are at the hotels doorstep, & in the 5 days we spent in samui, we were only able to try out a fraction of the restaurants in the vicinity. an excellent 7/11 is located diagonally opposite the hotel & is ideal for meeting one's daily provisional requirements.the only small niggle at the hotel was that the sliding bathroom doors of both our rooms were slightly misaligned & as a result it was difficult to lock them. despite mentioning this to reception a couple of times, it wasn't sorted. but it's quite understandable as the doors would probably have to be taken down & re-aligned & this would obviously be a time consuming affair. all in all though, a lovely experience! Malibu Koh Samui Resort & Beach Club (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng Night Market - View on map
"This is my favorite area to be in chaweng. Right across from Central Plaza Shopping Mall which has restaurants and night markets and a tops supermarket. Pool is nice, and not over filled with chlorine. Beach area is great. Breakfast was provided, small but simple. Has egg station, cereal, 1 Thai dish, couple sides and some fruit. My room was alright, I think if they repainted the wall it look nicer. I like the outside porch area you can sit. Only bad thing is if you leave window curtains open to get sun everyone walking by can see in your room. The grounds are well kept and has tropical setting. I’d probably stay again if price was right. "

Baan Chaweng Beach Resort & Spa (SHA Extra Plus)
Chaweng,Chaweng Night Market - View on map
"I travelled with a friend. We chose a grand deluxe villa which was well worth the extra money. Our bungalow overlooked the pool and the bar and was a few seconds from the beach. The location of the resort is brilliant. It's right in the middle of chaweng beach and high street so very central for everything. Ark Bar and the Shisha bar are about three doors down so a short walk if you want some beach party night life. This is where most people go after midnight until about 2am. We travelled around the island. Car hire is very cheap and you can drive around it easily in a day which includes stopping off at all the scenic places. We spent our first 5 days at Lamai which was very quiet. The beach and sea is not as nice as chaweng. We didn't swim in the sea at lamai at all. We moved to chaweng and much preferred it. On the whole koh Samui tourism seems to be down. We only booked 4 nights accommodation from the UK then booked the rest of our stay when we got there which worked well. "

"1. Location: beachfront and in Chaweng Road (center of nightlife and restaurants) although a bit on the end side (10 mins . walk to central Chaweng). Can stay by the beach or the pool. Waves/ current, however, was always on red flag, but you can still swim just don't go far. 2. Room quality: bit old already, but well maintained and clean. Room are spacious ( a big plus); good for families. Have villas with porch. Traditional wood design. Good bed; soft. Cable TV, blow-dry, safety deposit box. No mini ref. Hot and cold shower. Water pressure, however, could be stronger. Aircon can keep on whole day even when out. Free water bottles, coffee/ tea, and welcome fruit basket. Toiletries also provided. 3. Facility: nice pool overlooking the ocean; massage by the beach at 300 bhat only, restaurant, tour booking, airport transfer at 300 bhat (airport 15 mins. away only) 4. wifi: very strong in the room or common areas 5. breakfast: wide choice with fresh watermelon smoothie; average quality (chef at egg station could be more friendly) 6. Staff: very friendly and smiling, especially concierge, check in & asst manager. the restaurant staff, however, can improve. 7. Price: Value compared to other 4 star hotels (beachfront, Chaweng) Overall: met my expectations. "

King's Garden Resort (SHA Plus+)
Chaweng,Chaweng Night Market - View on map
"We had been on a journey that started in Bangkok then went on to Koh Samui stopping in an apartment on Bang Por Beach, a hotel in Koh phangan and finished in Chaweng Kho Samui at the Kings Garden Resort before joining family in Hong Kong. All three were different and we enjoyed each one for different reasons. We had a deluxe bungalow at the Kings Garden and this was the best we had sampled. The bed was so.. comfortable and having a settee in the room was an additional pleasure. I liked the outside area that had a padded seating area and the fact that you had your own pad for the sunbed on the beach. Unfortunately we had torrential rain while we were there so was unable to sample the beach which looked so inviting even in the rain. Breakfast was one of the best I have experienced as per other reviewers comments. As well as the normal English, European and Thai breakfast it had a choice of healthy teas to sample and you could also make your own healthy juices using the fruit provided and a juicer! How good is that! I spoke to a guest who had been there 5 times before even though she had tried other places she found herself returning to this hotel and I can see I will just have to return myself just to experience it in the sunshine. On the last night thanks to some guests we found the night market just across the road from the resort with a fantastic choice of cheap delicious food. It's hidden down a side pathway on the other side of the road, you would never know if you weren't told. We stopped in Koh Samui 5 years ago and ate at Poppies Hotel so wanted to revisit. It is about a kilometre turning left out of the resort or a 50 baht songthaew ride. It is a bit more expensive than we usually pay but well worth it for fabulous Thai food and the presentation and service make it a special occasion. As we had eaten a lot of Thai food during our visit we enjoyed the food at Greek restaurant called the Olive Tree. Also near to Poppies. The home cooked lam"
