Pattra Vill Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

"This lovely resort is no issue for drivers to locate. 20min from airport. Receptionist was very welcoming and very helpful with providing information. Most of them are English speaking. Pleasantly surprised by the room. Very modern n clean. Balcony is a +. Decent breakfast with a buffet of bread, cereals, salad and fruits. They will also take your breakfast main course order. Pool is very clean and only 1-2 couple at any one time. McDonald's, 7-11, shops, restaurants, money changer, laundry and massage is right at the door step. Must try: Tandoori night Indian restaurant just about 100m on the left of hotel entrance. Lamai night market (only Sunday) is by far one of the better night market I visited. Nice resort with great location at an affordable price!"

"our room was spacious light and airy. marble tiles in room and bathroom, very crisp and clean. good aircon good desk space and wardrobe ( with hangers) tv and fridge. out the door and down the tree-lined path to the sea and sand, have a free coffee at their beach side bar. however the mattresses were very firm and we swapped room next day to another splendid room, lovely beds ! front desk staff were most helpful. we reckon we got real value for money here so booked another five nights (high season $35 per night). the location is good on the beach and only five mins. away from the night food markets. the 'outback pub' is just down the street where you get meals one can't jump over, kat great prices. we're sure to be back again !"

Lamai Coconut Beach Resort

"Location central, walking distance to Sunday night market, shops, bars, on the beach, nice pool, strong wifi, good AC, friendly staff and well priced restaurant during happy hour. Very relaxing and peaceful resort. Negatives: many mozzies so take bug spray, bungalows were smaller than expected but still comfortable. Overall we had a fab time at this resort. "

Ammatara Pura Pool Villa (SHA Extra Plus)

"We stayed four nights between X-mas and New Years. It was fully booked most of the time but we still felt it was very private and exclusive. We stayed in a Garden Villa. Best parts: - Room is very large and well-equipped. You have a computer, kitchen, minibar, washing machine (but no drier), TV and DVD player, lots of couches and chairs. - The private pool is absolutely superb. Plus you have a jacuzzi and excellent outdoor shower. Just brilliant. - The breakfast is delivered to your room each morning (you order what you want) and really nice. The food options are extensive, although not everything may be available (eg, different juices). - The place looks absolutely amazing when it is lit up at night. You feel like you are in your own private temple! - The staff are very attentive and helpful. Really sweet. - We enjoyed a free yoga course, which was very nice. Improvement areas: - It is not cheap, though we were there during high season. - The gym area is not really developed. It's just a few cardio machines in a corner. My guess is, since the place is new, they will be investing in a bigger gym / spa area in the future. - It can be a bit difficult to find from the main (ring) road from the airport. It should be clearly signposted at the turnoff from the ring road - The cocktails could be improved. My wife had a bloody mary which she didn't really like. Other comments: - The restaurant was quiet, very romantic, and good value for tasty food. We ordered Thai food only, just one night. - It is very close to the main walking road. Just go down to the beach, take a left, and walk a little while until you come to a grassy area where you can meet the road (near Will Wait restaurant). Or you can trespass through the neighboring Aloha hotel! - At first, I found the decor a bit garish and overdone. However, after spending some time there, I came to like it. After seeing many other places in Lamai, this was definitely the classiest and most exclusive."

"Staffs were very attentive, helpful, friendly and they made sure we were treated well during our stay there. We booked our room that comes with a jacuzzi on the balcony which was so spacious. Ideal for those who seek for relaxation during your holiday! We also booked their Seafood Dinner Buffet and it was worth every penny,i must say. Lamai Night Market (Sunday) is just mere 3 min walk away from the hotel. Breakfast spread was not too many of a choice. Overall, we had a good stay and will stay again if we were to travel to Koh Samui in the future! "

THE HIVE HOTEL SAMUI (SHA Plus+)

"This is our second time back to Lamai Wanta, and we will definitely stay here again when we return to Samui. The location is perfect. Walking distance to many restaurants and the awesome Lamai Night Market. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. The beach is perfect.. with Lamai Wanta having stinger nets in place in the water for safety. We went to many beaches around the island, but Lamai was the best for swimming by far. We stayed in a Garden Villa this time. Spacious enough with a large bed, sofa, desk, fridge, tea and coffee facilities replenished daily, as well as plenty of bottled water supplied. Our aircondtitioner broke down during our stay - but management were onto it immediately and most apologetic. They kept us updated and offered for us to change rooms instead of waiting. When we told them we were happy to wait, they gave us a voucher to use in their restaurant! All the staff are very friendly and accomodating. Highly recommend Lamai Wanta."

Lamai Inn 99 Bungalows
Lamai,Night market - View on map
"In a nutshell, our stay at this hotel was highly satisfactory. It's right next to Lamai beach and the night market is just a short walk away. We booked a standard room without breakfast, which proved to be a good decision. The hotel has a very nice sea-view restaurant and a decent breakfast (unlike the typical "breakfasts" bundled with room booking) costs only couple of hundred bahts. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Being a beach hotel, they didn't provide beach towels which was a bit odd. Bathrooms are little bit on the smaller side but definitely manageable."

"This hotel is conveniently located at Lamai Town. You can reach up to a lot of restaurants by walking distance and there are quite a lot of nice restaurant selling seafood! Night markets are just along the street. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable bed but come with a very old TV set. Overall great stay and staffs are friendly and helpful too! But be warn, don't choose high floor as there is no elevator."

"My first draft apparently hit the word limit, but in short: this hotel is GOOD: Location: By the beach, with private access. And walkable to all sorts of shops and the night market. Room: Clean, and fresh. Very thoughtful - beach towels provided in a convenient straw tote. Wifi: provided in room, and all over hotel. Mostly capable, though room can be flakey at times. Restaurant: Food tend to be comparatively pricier here, but it's tasty and service is good. Alcohol was watered down, but the breakfast buffet is to die for: good spread, and over 3 days, there was always something different. Staff: thoughtful and attentive. Room was cleared within one hour when I went out for lunch. Bathroom: Based on the the time spent inside, it should be a tourist attraction."
